What I love about my owners: She brought me home from the shelter

How We Met
We went to a local Animal Shelter looking to adopt a pet and he came right to the front of the cage with pleading eyes. He came home with us the same day along with Kuce. Sadly he passed away from cancer in July of 2004. We miss him very much but he is still fondly remembered. *He won COTD on 3/02/08,7/29/20- 11 and 7/29/2012 as well as CROTD on 7/29/2011 and 7/29/2012* Thanks everyone.

2/23/13 Happy Caturday and Big Thank You All!
Sorry we did not start yesterday, but mom was just feeling overtired with all the snow she had to clear and then there was Zeus, who snuck out twice! The snow was soft and up to his neck. Didn't stop him! Mom just stood outside and let him have a good run, because chasing him wouldn't have done any good and he does know where the door is.
Anyway, we want to thank you so much for our Meezers ACOTD and all the friends, who came by in memory of the fourth Anniversary of A.Rosebud's passing. Rosebud was very special to mom and I don't know how much you know of her story. She was originally rescued as a kitten by a friend of mom's. She was probably over two years, when mom's friend asked her to kitty sit Rosebud and another female black LH named Midnight for the first time, because they were moving to Duluth, MN and did not have a house picked out in that area yet. The two cats were neither spayed or vet checked for a long time, so mom took them on the agreement that she would get that done, with no cost to the family. Mom's friend has a learning disability and the family had other dysfunctions, including an alcoholic husband. The cats were not abused, but there was never money for proper vet care. Anyway, the cats were spayed and returned to the family, once they had a home in that city. A few years passed and the family was moving again. This time they had Rosebud and a year old pup named Ginger and were planning a drive to Florida. Midnight, who was up in her teens, had passed the Bridge due to breast cancer. When mom had her spayed, she had several tumors and they had been removed, but they did come back and she was brought to a vet and euthanized, before they moved again. The Tumors were inoperable and cancer had spread. Anyway, this time they asked mom to take Rosebud and keep her, because they knew mom loved Rosebud and would give her the best home possible. Mom also asked for their dog, a Rottweiler mix. She could see that Ginger was very gentle and friendly, but fearing the family had been living homeless more than once, she knew that often Animal Control people would simply euthanize certain breeds of dogs, if they were taken in. Mom was determined that that would not happen to Ginger. The original contract was that they had to demonstrate they had jobs and a secure place to live. That did not happen. Ginger is almost 13 and still with us.
Sorry, we were going to tell more about Rosebud too, but are running out of room, so will do that on Tuesday. Needless to say, she also lived with mom several years until she crossed the Bridge. Thank you so much for all your votes, both for her, our Angel Meezers and for me, King Barney. As I come to my last week, I cannot totally tell you what a special time it has been and do hope our friend JosieMae has as much fun as we have. I am so very sorry to be so late in replying to my COTD from last week. Mom is just so far behind lately.
Thank you so much for making me COTD, I am honored and I am a Proud member of the Rainbow Bridge where I have always resided since coming on CC. My sisterr followed me here 4 years later.
I am thanksful for all my friends, Earth and Angels alike. Without all of you this would have never been possible, so I think you from the bottom of my heart for this pawsome honor!

Hello Angel Sphinx and Family!
Sorry for cut/paste, but I've been so overwhelmed lately and this was totally unexpected. Thanks for remembering my Piu on the anniversary of her crossing. Hard to believe it's been 5 years. In 2012 I also lost Rocky in January, my mom in October and then Rusty followed her the day before Thanksgiving. Hopefully 2013 will be better as my dad took in a new kitty I named Boots. I call her Butt-Butt as she loves to head-butt. She showed up after Hurricane Sandy (my mom's name) in October, right after my mom died and we just picked her up and threw her in the house on Christmas Day! She is still getting used to living indoors and will be having her first vet appointment next week. Thanks again for thinking of my dear Piu. Many happy purrs
are still flowing from me today after winning another beautiful COTD badge yesterday. Thank you SO much for stopping by with catgrats for me & for helping me celebrate. I've got so many toys & goodies on the kitchen counters that I'm not sure where to start nibbling...or playing! Hmmm...I may have to ration it a bit so I keep my girlish figure. After all I can't gain too much weight or Fluffers will outrun me & I can't let that happen...MOL! Thank you again for coming by to join my celebration yesterday dear furiends. 1/3/13 Day Three!
Good Morning all. Another day for us on the Catpaign trail and our topic today is Routine and its importance to us kitties. I, Barney try to run my household with an iron paw. I'm sure most of you do. We have one issue to deal with this year that I have not experienced before. Mom is what she call "Retired." You would think it means she has time to cater to our every whim, but alas, while she still gets up at 5am, she takes more time with the dogs, makes coffee at home, finally gets our breakfast in the bowels and then puts the news on TV. We want to thank the CMR page, because they always have the Mews of the day up, when we are just getting on CC!
Anyway, the other upset to our routine is having not one, but two large dogs, Ginger, age 11yrs, and Lucky, about 9 yrs. We cats might describe them as lazy, but not wanting to be politically incorrect, mom says they are Seniors and if they wake her at 3am, they probably need to! We have more than enough litter boxes and they could easily learn to stick their hinny in one. --- Well, would we really want them too?

From the cloud of the Angel Sherman…Surprise campaign today for beautiful little ANGEL MINNOW #211385! This precious furbaby was just starting to enjoy life when a fire broke out at the family home that took the lives of all the animals on a cold January day. This precious angel would have had a wonderful life to look forward to since she was adopted by a family that thinks black kitties are overlooked too often. Sadly for us she heard the calls of the angels at the tender age of 8 months & flew up to the clouds to take her place among them. This precious angel has been a quiet member of our community for over 5 years but doesn’t have any badges on her page & very few visitors. She was adopted shortly after her mother had crossed the rainbow bridge when she was just a young kitten. She lived for many years in her happy furever home until the angels called her home on August 1st of this year. She & her family are not ‘regular’ bloggers but they’ve been seen congratulating winners recently so we’d like them to know their efforts to be part of the community have not gone unnoticed. First, I want to apologize for the lateness of my thank you. Due to several family issues mom has been unable to spend much time on computer. Dad had a wreck, then Mom's mom was put in hospital, and then a couple of more family health issues. On top of that she is part of The United Way committee for her Job this year and has had to attend several functions. So now we don't hardly get any time! It is terrible. We are now a very neglected gang.
That being said I am going to have to C&P this just so We can get everyone thanked, please accept our apologies and hope you understand.
Now, thank you so much for coming by and bringing me the basket of crab & turkey I really enjoyed it as did all the other angels. I love my blanket too. The party was fun and everyone had a good time. My earth sibs made some of our famous Milk punch for those still earth bound. They like any reason to make it!!! MOL. Not only did I get Cat of the Day (which mom missed cuz she did not get on computer that weekend), It also made her very sad that she missed my very special day, I was rescue cat of the day also.
So thank you for making my day so special. It really meant a lot to all of us. Mom still misses all her angels. Well mom says I have to go as she is at work trying to get this done without getting caught!!!! Have a great weekend.

Wow, was I surprised when I saw ME in the spotlight yesterday! How nice for you to come by and remember me on my 2nd anniversary of my crossing.
I was a worldwide traveler after I left Cuba with my boy. Oh, the adventures of Monica Lewinski... Actually, I got my name from those Navy Guys on the base and I have never owned a blue dress either.
Mom was thinking a lot about me this week. I was a strong willed girl who had to have the last meow. Mom would scold me when I did naughty things and I would always talk back.

Scoop. Surprise Angel Catpaign Today..
From the cloud of the Angel Sherman…SURPRISE CAMPAIGN FOR ANGEL LOLA #227723! This beautiful girl was picked up at a breeder’s on 5/22/2004 after the pleas of her young owner finally reached the ears of her parents. Lola & her newfound furiend played together all of the time. She got pushed around in a baby carriage, had special princess parade events & birthday celebrations, plus she helped open her young owner’s birthday gifts. She was the purrfect listener & sat very attentively as her mommy talked about any troubles she was having. At the end of 2011, Lola started getting sick & she was called by the angels on the night of October 14. She’s dearly missed by her young mom & we’d like to help honor her life & the joy she brought to this young cat lover by asking all of you to slink quietly by her page today (Friday October 19th) to paw her an ACOTD vote. Thank you so much for congratulating Angel Nala for her ACOTD win. When brother saw how caring and loving all the kitties and their pawrents were on CC, he was deeply touched. He couldn't believe that a catpaign would be run in honor of his boot camp graduation and in honor of the love he had for sweet Nala. His graduation was awesome, and mom is so glad she was able to go. He is a handsome young Marine, and anxious to continue his training and serve his country. From the cloud of the NICE Angels…Beautiful Nala #144744 was the first cat to ever grace the home of the ARL Alumni but it would never have happened without the begging of young son Erik & the presence of a cat at his babysitter’s house. Nala #144744 made such an impression on mom that soon the house was filled with purrs of love from other furry furbabies & their lives without felines became a distant memory. As many of you know Nala #144744 became an angel at 12:34pm on August 29th, 2012 but some of you may not know that her beloved master Erik was away at Marine boot camp when it happened. When he called mom to tell her the good news about completing it & heading home, he naturally asked about his special cat. Mom shared the heartbreaking news with him but he doesn’t know that she’d asked us earlier to do something special for him by doing an ACOTD campaign for his beloved kitty when he got here. We’re asking everyone to please run, pounce or fly to paw a vote to ANGEL NALA #144744 on Friday October 5th. It will not only honor her memory but will also honor the service to our country of Erik, one of our newest Marines!

~Thursday meow from the clouds~
Shhh...the earthbound crew are all sound asleep but an angel doesn't need it so I'm flying around to visit everyone today. Thank you for stopping by the pirate pawty yesterday!! Seems like Zaboo, Patches, Trixie, Fluffers, plus Joseph & the outside crew are pirated out from it so they've had minimal activity so far today. I haven't heard a single aargh, yo ho, or shiver me timbers since midnight so I assume the rest of you kitties had a good time & are sleeping in too...MOL! Angel Cloudy & I have a lot of cleaning up to do on the ship today but we had a great time with all of you so it's definitely worth a little extra chore time in our opinion. We've already found 2 feather wands, 5 crinkle balls, & 3 stuffed catnip toys that were dropped by some sleepy kits, so if your little one is yowling today that their favorite toy is missing you know where it's at! Mom had taken down our pirate photos & replaced them with fall ones today so I guess playtime is over & it's back to normal days...whatever those are...MOL! Well got to get busy helping Angel Cloudy so will paw you a vote, sprinkle everyone in your house with angel dust, & give you a gentle hug for helping make the pawty so fun & exciting by being there.

Thank you so much for the votes, birthday wishes and congrats on my ACOTD win, yesterday. Thank you for all the treats and toys, too!I had a meowvelous day and one I'll never furget! ~Surprise Angel Campaign for ANGEL DUSTY #230326~
From Duckies Desk: ANGEL DUSTY #230326 was born to another cat in the house and he made sure he wrapped his paws tightly around his pawents hearts so that they’d never give him up. He never meowed even once his entire life, even though he’d often try. When he opened his mouth only an occasional squeak would come out and that was only if he was annoyed about something. This ‘handicap’ made him very special and adorable to his furless family so they kept him in their happy home until he crossed the bridge on 5/11/2012. He’s been a member of the CC community since March 2012 and has close to 300 votes, yet something is missing from his page that all kitties yearn for at least once. Please run by to paw ANGEL DUSTY #230326 a vote on Friday August 31st so we can fill that special box with a shiny new ACOTD badge and watch his star burst into brilliant beams of happy light that shine down on earth Saturday night.

~Surprise Angel Campaign ~ ANGEL SNEAKERS #18344~
From Duckies Desk: Precious and beloved SNEAKERS #18344 became an angel sometime in August 2006, but we’re unsure of the exact date. This sweet kitty made an impression on his entire neighborhood when he was on earth and was ruler of the area. He brought home presents for his family ranging from snakes and mice to squirrels and rabbits. People from blocks away referred to his furever mom as "Sneaker's Mom". His unexpected arrival helped fill a small part of the void put there by her youngest daughter’s death yet he didn’t ask for much in return. We’re inclined to believe he was sent by the angels to help mend her broken heart with his soft purrs of love. In honor of this special angel we’re asking that the entire community run by to paw an ACOTD vote to ANGEL SNEAKERS #18344 on Friday August 24th so that his mom will know we’re still thinking about both of them even though 6 long years have passed.

~Surprise Angel Campaign~ ANGEL OSCAR #234290~
From Duckies Desk: ANGEL OSCAR #234290 is a very quiet cat on CC and rarely gets visitors, but that doesn’t make him any less special in our eyes. This precious angel was born at the home of the grandparents of his young profile owner after his mom was abandoned at their house. He was the only kitten in the litter that grandma kept so we know he had some special magnetism that made her choose him over the other 3 fursibs. Grandma had him for a long time before the grand kids started yowling that they wanted a cat of their own. Grandma was a sweet lady so she graciously let the family take him to their home. After a while he got homesick so the family returned him to grandma’s house. He was happy to be back in familiar surroundings but one day he was out and got hit by a car. He wasn’t called to the angels that day, but perhaps the shock to his system was too much for this sweet kitty to contend with because a few months later he crossed the bridge. Please take a minute out of your busy day Friday to stop over and paw an ACOTD vote to ANGEL OSCAR #234290 and let him know that he’s not forgotten. ~Surprise Angel Campaign August 10th~
From Duckies Desk: Hear ye, hear ye…we’ve found another angel that’s been a member of our community for almost 2 years and still doesn’t have that first elusive badge. We’ve gathered all of the angels together and are sending our loudest meows across the community as we fly over asking all of you to stop by to visit ANGEL KOKOMO #187218 Friday so he can earn his own day in the spotlight. This handsome Siamese kitty celebrated his 15th birthday on September 9, 2011 and was called to the angels one week later on September 16. This precious furbaby and his other Siamese sibs are very quiet on CC but they do come by to congratulate winners, so that in itself is deserving of a special visit from as many of us as we can rally to help this dear angel earn his very first badge. Please take a minute to help us honor the memory of ANGEL KOKOMO #187218 on Friday, August 10th, by running by to meow surprise and paw him an ACOTD vote.
