How We Met

I had a beautiful black male kitty many years ago who went missing when he was 13 years old :(... since then my life didnt seem complete without him.The day came when fate decreed it was time to meet a new black furry friend.I called the SPCA and they said to come on up,there was a litter of 4 kittens ready for adoption and she thought one of the males was mostly black.I couldnt get up there for a couple of days so I asked her to put him on hold for me.When hubby and I finally went up to get him all he was doing with his 3 sibs was playing, totally oblivious to all around him. What's this?I wondered eying the scrawny odd-looking kitten with light swirls on his side that only showed up when the light hit it a certain way and the underside of his tail a mousy grey.Suddenly all I could see was the gorgeous, sleek ebony creature he would eventually become. He's PERFECT,I sighed and snapped him up.I just luuurve him to pieces :)

♥ May your Christmas be merry as a song...
...and your heart be happy the whole year long! ♥

Hello sweet Lestat, Mom Diane & family!!
Santa Paw came a little bit earlier this year and brought me and Sally a new scratcher with colorful feathers on it.
There are only a couple of more days left to Christmas Eve and we´re helping Mom to get things ready to celebrate.
As most of the times, I´ve been busy supervising everything. I´ve been specially curious about some bright little packages appearing under the tree. They have very interesting ribbons and I´ve been sniffing them. I even gave them a couple of headbonks too. MOL!

My parents and of all of us wish you a very merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year 2013!!

Sending you 1.000.000 sandpaper kisses and hugs...
With much love,
from your friends always,
Q. Lola & all the kitties from Buenos Aires!!

Come visit me, Simba & Mrs.Pucca, Queen Memories, Angels Blackie & Lady Lucy, Sally ♥ Felix, Queen Lola ♥ Missing Angel Martin ♥ & Willow & Charlie.

♥ FRIENDS... ♥
Today 20th of July we´re celebrating "Friends´ Day" in Argentina the way we do every year and we thought we would write a special blog for our friends.
Many of you already know the story you are about to read. It takes place in Spain, where a gorgeous black kitty named Fum and a Tyto Alba owl by the name of Gebra became best friends.
Gebra (from the Catalan "Gebre" which means "Frost") and Fum (which means "Smoke") met each other in May 2010 when they were both one month old and have been together since then.
They became famous by a video their owners uploaded in You Tube last year and was seen by lots of people all over the world.
We think this video is one of the sweetest and most amazing things we have ever seen and it reflects very well the special bond between these two fellows.
The interplay between Fum and Gebra is a lesson of friendship and kindness. Everytime Mom sees them playing in their video she wishes she could see through the eyes of an animal, a cat, a dog, a bird...
Wouldn´t it be great to contemplate the universe and all the living beings on it without any bias? Wouldn´t it be great to enjoy it the way it is?...
Gebra can fly and Fum cannot do that. When Gebra flies he runs through the field and sometimes, Gebra also joind him in a walk, although owls usually don´t take walks.
Some of us (humans) can fly, some other can run, that´s the wonder of the world. We´re all different and yet we are here to love, to share, to give.
Today we´re celebrating our old friends and welcoming our new friends with this message of friendship and love. No act of kindness, no matter how small is ever wasted.
If you would like to learn more about Fum & Gebra´s friendship you can visit their web page at www.fumandgebra.com where you can also see their photos and videos.
Have a wonderful day, dear friends. We´re blessed to be part of this community! Happy friends´ day!
With lots of love,
from your friends always,
Mom Ceci & all the kitties from Buenos Aires!!

Vote Smoke's Angels * #226582 * 5/25/12 *
From Duckies’ Desk: Have you met Smoke’s Angels, # 226582? Smoke’s Angels is a page dedicated to the loving memory of a group of Kitties that have touched the lives of a loving and caring family for many, many years. All Of these kitties are angels now and all but one of them found this loving family. Although this touching story did not start with Smoke he knew all the kitty's that will eventually be on this page. He reigned supreme in the family’s house for 18 years. Most of these Angels have crossed the bridge In the last 10 years and it has been very difficult to say goodbye to so many babies in such a short time. All now reside in the family’s Kitty Cemetery. Although this page is dedicated to the memory of several Angels it is named in memory of Smoke. Smoke came to his forever family in 1989, missing an eye and had a terrible ripped leg, they think a large bird had gotten hold of him but somehow he got away. Smoke bonded with his family instantly and found a deep love that would span 18 years. Smoke’s family miss him dearly and Smoke still loves his special family very much. This Angel would love to send his family a special gift on Saturday, May 26th, a gift of his Cat of the Day Badge. On Friday, May 25th, please go to page #226582 and vote for this very deserving Angel so he can earn his Cat of the Day Badge and send his loving family this special gift!

Surprise ACOTD for ANGEL JAKE #142474 ~
From Duckie’s Desk: ANGEL JAKE #142474 is a very quiet angel on CC these days but is remembered as the sweetest cat in the world by his loving family. He was the icing on the cake of life for them when they saw his handsome face in the pet store, and they happily added him to their multi-cat household without a second thought. JAKE #142474 became ill near the end of 2009 and received his first COTD badge on 12/26/09, thanks to the outpouring of love for him as he celebrated his birthday the day before. He was scheduled for surgery the following day to find out why he was so sick, so while the family waited and hoped, all of CC prayed for him and his family. Apparently the angels needed a special boy like SWEET JAKE #142474 to join their ranks though because the diagnoses came back as terminal lymphatic cancer. His family and friends were devastated by the news and knowing they couldn’t let him suffer any longer, the family made the very difficult decision to help him cross the Rainbow Bridge on 12/29/09. ANGEL JAKE #142474 is now spreading his benevolence down on all of us and we’d like to honor him Saturday by helping him get an ACOTD badge to adorn his cloud so he knows he’s not forgotten just because he became an angel. Please stop by to visit ANGEL JAKE #142474 on Friday April 27th, and while you’re there please pounce on his vote button so that we can watch him skipping across the stars in heavenly joy Saturday night with a new golden badge proudly sparkling as brightly as his halo.

SURPRISE ANGEL CAMPAIGN for 4/20~
From Duckies’ Desk: ~Have you met ANGEL ANGEL #133708? She is a kitty without a badge on her page so we’d like to surprise her with a special campaign Friday & need your help to complete this secret mission! This sweet kitty was trying to find a safe place in a neighborhood with her 3 kittens but was having problems with people chasing her away. Her soon-to-be furever mom saw this & started putting food by her garage every day to show her that not all people were unfriendly to cats. ANGEL #133708 got so used to the idea that she went inside the garage & discovered that loving humans did exist & she’d found the purrfect one. She was taken to the vet for shots & spaying so she knew in her little kitty heart that this home was hers to call her own. ANGEL #133708 joined CC in April 2009 & was called to the heavens at the end of November 2011. She’s still missed by her sweet mom, her adopted older sibling Giovanni, as well as doggie sibs Aussie & Rowdy from DC. Please help us honor this beautiful angel by pawing a vote her way on Friday April 20 so she’ll know she’s not forgotten by her CC family & friends.

* VOTE ANGELS BUSTER & LOUIE * 4/13/12 *
From Duckies’ Desk: Have you met Angels Buster and Louie, #210737? Once or maybe twice in someone's lifetime a cat will come along who not only steals your heart but holds onto it forever. This was the case of Buster and Louie and describes the bond that these two lucky kitties had with their forever family. Louie was found half crawling in the middle of the street. His eyes were so infected they were swollen shut, and his nose was so blocked he had to struggle to breathe. He was given antibiotics for his respiratory infection and antibiotic drops in his eyes. He slowly got better but his eyes were so infected his family was afraid he might lose his sight. He was lucky, though. His eyes got better but his left eye was always a little weepy.
Buster’s mama was abandoned in the neighborhood while she was pregnant, and had her kittens under a neighbor's house. She moved the babies to their forever family’s yard and behind the barn of another neighbor. Buster’s future family had already begun to feed his momma and she was starting to trust them. Buster had found his home!
Louie crossed the Rainbow Bridge on April 28, 2011, and Buster crossed on March 16, 2011. Angels Buster and Louie would love to send their family a special gift on Saturday, April 14th. This gift would be the gift of their Cat of The Day Badge. Since that time Angel Markus has taken a very active part in welcoming Kitties across the Rainbow Bridge and showing them the great love that he experienced in his lifetime. Markus was dropped off at an animal shelter and being a perfectly healthy kitty he was taken in by a loving family who fell in love with this beautiful young male cat. Markus was a very happy cat and he felt his forever families love every day. Markus was very playful and had a life filled with everything a kitty could ever want! Markus developed an intestine problem that would take his life at the age of 11 years. Angel Markus said goodbye to his family in November of 2011. Hi Lestat!
Although Christmas Day is now over; let’s keep the spirit of Christmas of Christmas alive. Christmas is about Love. Let us continue to show love, compassion, mercy, forgiveness, and peace to all we come in contact with, just as Christ has done. Let go of anger and all negativity, as none of it serves a useful purpose. Focus not on the pretty paper and presents, on what you did or didn’t get, but focus instead on the gifts of the heart: love, patience, kindness and compassion. Give of yourself. To give of yourself costs nothing, and is worth everything. 10 years or 40 years from now, no one will remember what you did or didn’t give them for Christmas, but they will remember the atmosphere of love that you created and the time that you spent with them. My mom says when she looks back at Christmas’s past, it is not the gifts she remembers, but the family being together, laughing together and just spending time together. This year take time to appreciate being together. Take a walk, sing a song, share a favourite memory or two or three. If you have no two-legged family then share with your four-legged family, your neighbors or friends, and/or blog here on CC. For many, Christmas is a hard time of year, and for many of our CC family this was a difficult Christmas because of overwhelming sadness from the loss of precious furbabies and human family members. Know that although you may feel like you are, you are not alone, and many of us continue to hold you in prayer.
My quote for today: Until he extends his circle of compassion to include all living things, man will not himself find peace.” Albert Schweitzer.
Our COTD candidate for today: Snowflake # 211879
Please remember to stop by Charlotte #196844 and cast your daily vote so she can be crowned Queen of January. Also keep all the lost, sick, hurting kitties and their pawrents in your prayers. There are so many in need right now. May the God of All Creatures Bless Us All. Namaste. (King) Thomas

Hi Lestat!
I finally get to visit my friends! This is such a stressful time of year with Christmas and the expectations that come with it. I feel badly (and not very king-like)that as king I have not visited every day, but mom just could not help me do it. It was so hard getting through my catpaign - she was really exhausted when it was over. Her time is pulled at by so many (work, the shelter, hospice volunteer work, and her pawrents), that for December she just couldn't keep up except on the Mewsroom. I know many are probably disappointed, but mom just needed to use her down time with us, and not blogging on the computer. I will visit again before Christmas - and maybe even on Christmas. Mom is working Dec 24th 7PM to Christmas morning 7:30 AM. She will have a few hours after she gets home while dinner is cooking and before her pawrents come over that she could blog for me. She is hoping to visit all with a c/p Christmas message - although no guarantees - especially if it is a busy night at work. She works tonight and tomorrow night, and hopes to visit friends this coming week, taking Christmas cookies and candies! Purrs and kitty kisses. Namaste. (king) Thomas

.•*´¨`*•. We´re Back!!¸¸.•*´¨`*•.
Good night dearest Lestat, Mommy & all the fur babies!!
How are you, my precious friend?...
Mom and Dad had a wonderful time in Mar del Plata. They visited Mommy´s family, went to the port and to the crafts market. Mom said the weather was warm and sunny.
We all missed our parents very much; they came back home on Sunday night. I was a little bit mad at Mommy first; Sally purred load and jumped over her lap. I stayed napping over the bed. Momma gave tons of hugs and kisses and I forgave her for being gone.(MOL!) And she brought us canned tuna from the port.
Momma was glad because Dad took her to see "Puss in Boots"; she told us this is a film with kitties on it.
Yesterday we helped her to unpack her bags and since she was off work, we had much Mom extra time.
Grandma set up our Christmas tree and decorations last Thursday, according to the tradition in our country.
Sally has been trying to take a bouquet of fake silver poinsettias to play with them. She even took one of them to our kitty bed!! (Tee-hee!!)
I hope you´re having a purrfect Tuesday!! It´s great to be back!!
Sending you a huge bunch of whiskers kisses and hugs...
With lots of love,
from your friends always,
Lola & all the kitties from Buenos Aires!!

Hi Lestat!
A beautiful Sunday morning here in Maine.Mom had a good day at the shelter. 13 cats, mostly kittens), and 4 dogs found furever homes! My quote for today: This is the Way of Peace: Overcome Evil with Good, Falsehood with Truth, Hatred with Love.” Blue Feather. One tradition of many Christian denominations is that of Advent. Today is the 2nd Sunday in Advent. It is the 4 weeks before Christmas when many Christians prepare for the Birth of Christ. It is a very prayerful time. Gin Gin uses an Advent Calendar and they upen a new little window every day in Advent. We use and Advent wreath and light one candle each day for the 1st week, 2 candles each day the 2nd etc., until all 4 candles are lit. There are 3 purple candles and 1 pink or rose-coloured candle. That one is lit the 3rd Sunday and subsequent week. Then on Christmas we light the 5th candle in the middle, and it is the Christ candle. Do any other of you celebrate Advent or have another family tradition? Adoptiversaries: DEC 4: HOPSING #9810. Wishing you all a very peaceful Sunday and week to come. Namaste.(King) Thomas

Hi Lestat!
Day 30 on the very soggy catpaign trail from Maine! Wow – where has the month gone? The weather would normally now be colder – it is unusual that we are still having some warm days, especially since we have had 2 snowstorms! The leaves are all gone off the trees. Most of us are gearing up for the winter holidays. For many, these holidays are Holy Days and are associated with our religious and spiritual beliefs/practices. Regardless of your culture, religion or spiritual beliefs, December is a very special month for most. It is definitely a time for family and good friends, and if elected King, I will be keeping the emphasis on this during the month of December. I love my family and always want to stay close to them. I LOVE when mom is on vacation or has days off and she is home with us. It is my favourite thing in the world. My fursibs feel the same way. If I am elected King, get ready to enjoy a special month of positive reflections and family time. I will also be inviting you to share your special holiday beliefs, practices or celebrations with me and the rest of the CC Community. I want to thank you all for your support and kind words during these past 30 days. Please be sure to stop by k Queen Lola (131462), and thank her for the fun and adventure she provided for everyone this month, and for opening her homeland and sharing herself and her wedding to King Mickey with the entire CC Community. ((¯`v´¯))MEWS FROM THE CASTLE! ((¯`v´¯))
Sir Ernie, Sir Steve and Sir Kit arrived to the Castle carrying a huge Christmas tree. Sir Lestat, Sir Mo and Sir Eynnie followed them bringing three enormous boxes full of colorful ornaments.
Doodie and I went to meet them at the main gate; the fairy kitties came with us. The pine tree was marvelous and beautiful. I noticed it had a great smell too.
-This is the nicest tree we found; your Majesty. –Said Mo.
The fairy kitties started to purr. –It´s purrrrrrfect!! –Said Beacon. –Let´s call all the cats to help us to set it up.
Lily & Zoe were riding Viento and Nieve and they were the first fur friends to arrive. We took the tree to the Royal Ballroom and started to decorate it.
Mama, Angel Loki & Angel Marley came with the kittens. The little ones were very excited.
-Wow!! This pine tree is great!! – Said Shadowfoot. –How will we ever reach the top of it to put the star there? –Asked Miles.
Blackberry danced around his head and the tiny bells in her collar made a beautiful sound. –We´re going to put the star on the top of the tree. –She answered. –Flying.
Mimi and Sassy Su brought the catnip ornaments they did yesterday and Strudel decorated the galleries with lovely garlands of paper poinsettias. I was so happy.
Hot Rod entered the room with Toby and Malachi; they were surprised to see the pine and the garlands. They were bringing a couple of gifts and they put them under the tree.
Finally, Beacon & Blackberry took the star and placed it on the top of our Christmas tree.
Nobody said a word. We just looked at the tree and holded each other´s paw making a circle around the tree. And the Angels stayed close. And everything was joy and happiness.

Hi Lestat!
Day 29 on the balmy catpaign trail from Maine. It hit 63 degrees yesterday! As I look to the future, mom and I still see my role as that of an ambassador to prevent cruelty, abuse and neglect. We were interviewed on a local morning news program over a year ago with the Shelter’s Executive Director, and she actually referred to me as such. I like to think that I make a difference by educating the adults of tomorrow about abuse and cruelty. Now that the school year has started up again, we are hoping the schools start to call and schedule me for our Kindness Matters program. I’m pretty sure one school will, since I have been there for 4 years in a row, so far – news flash!!! They did call on Monday and we are going Dec 19th! We can hardly wait! We have been to the Children’s Museum during Be Kind to Animals week and are in hopes we can go back there again this year. I also hope and pray that we can someday return to the Youth prison. I have so many stories of the presentations I have done. I really want to make a difference for the lives of animal everywhere. It is my purpose and mission in this life. Mom is as passionate about it as I am. I hope you have enjoyed learning about me, my family, and about my work at the shelter. Birthdays Today: NOV 29: ZACHARY #147490, ZOE #147612 Don’t forget to stop by Queen Lola (131462), to support her through her reign as Queen of November. We especially send our condolences to the Knight family and Callie on the death of Barbara, Purrs and kitty kisses. Namaste. Thomas.

((¯`v´¯))MEWS FROM THE CASTLE! ((¯`v´¯))
King Mickey and I were having a walk through the gardens of the Castle this morning and seeing all the beautiful flowers we have there. Despite of the cold weather in USA,
Lady Strudel, Duchess & Dayzee have a lovely winter garden where tall catnip grows too.
We had lots of fun yesterday evening at the Magic Show that the little fairy kitties performed for us. They feel really happy and comfortable among us and we´re pleased to have them flying around. As Christmas time is coming, soon they will be leaving to help Santa Paws at his toys factory as they do every year.
Blackberry & Beacon along with their sisters; will travel to the North Pole where they will make sure every kitty in the world gets a gift. Mickey & I were surprised to learn this. We didn´t know the kitty fairies helped Santa Paws; they told us they´re the ones who read the kitty letters. Oh! They´re so cute and funny!! And they also sing beautiful Chirstmas Carols. They have taught some of them to the little kittens.
King Mickey and I were delighted to see Miles, Pumpkin, Dolly, Shadowfoot & Rosie singing “Collar Bells”. (Kitty version of “Jingle Bells”).
The chorus was adorable; all the kittens singing together:

Collar bells, collar bells,
Ringing 'round the block,
Christmas Eve is party time,
And we cats like to rock.
Collar bells, collar bells,
Ringing 'round the block,
Christmas Eve is party time,
We're counting down the clock.

Today Lady Mimi & Lady Doodlebug will be teaching to our friends to make Chirstmas Cards and decorations for the Christmas Tree filled with catnip.
Tomorrow, the Royal Guard will be bringing to the Castle a huge and wonderful pine tree and we´ll be decorating it together. I can´t wait!! It´s going to be lots of fun!!

Hi Lestat!
Day 28 on the catpaign trail from Maine. This next presentation was special for 2 reasons – for what WE learned this time, and for what mom and I did after. We went to an after-school program at one of the inner city schools. It was very culturally diverse. We did our usual presentation, and then invited the kids up to meet me and pet me. There were several kids who were very afraid. In the countries they came from, there were only feral cats and dogs. People didn’t have them as pets. They were really spooked by me. That was our education. I guess we sort of knew that not every culture had domesticated animals, but to see the fear they had was eye-opening. Obviously no one is ever forced to pet me. It is always a choice, and no one is made to feel pressured to pet me or to feel badly if they don’t. But after the presentation mom and I had a very special experience. Mom had a meeting to go to at her work. She didn’t have time to take me home first. So she put me in my stroller, zipped everything up so no one would know she had me and proceeded to walk right through the hospital, past security, and then I started to meow. She kept trying to hush me up, but I kept meowing. No one stopped us though (mom is a nurse and now works in a hospital). We got to her unit and she put me in their conference room where the meeting was to be held, and opened all the shades on the stroller windows. I was much happier. Her boss knew she was bringing me in and was thrilled to meet me. Then she suggested I visit a couple of their patients. One was a young woman in her 30’s who had such a bad case of the flu she ended up on a breathing machine. She was much better now, and was almost ready to go to the regular floor. She jumped at the chance to meet me, as she had a Maine Coon as a child growing up. She loved meeting me and petting me. She was fascinated with my wheels. Mom walked me into her room with them. Then we went to see an elderly man who was very sick. Mom took me out of my wheels and set me on his bed. He reached over and scratched my ears and head and had such a big smile and said in a very soft voice how much he missed his cat who had died some years before. It meant so much to him and me and mom that I had the chance to visit with him and bring some comfort and pleasure to him. I really feel like I made a difference. He died the next day. The staff also were all over me. Mom’s boss said they should get a unit cat because it de-stressed everyone. It was a marvelous day!

Hi Lestat!
Day 27 on the overcast catpaign trail from Maine. It was Be Kind to Animals week, and the Children’s Museum of Maine in Portland had invited us in to do our Kindness Matters presentation. By now, mom had a stroller that was easier for her to bring me places in, and can be strapped into the car like a car seat so I am safe while travelling. We parked in a big parking garage, and she wheeled me in the stroller to the museum. Several people stopped her and asked about me, so she told them about me. We got to the museum, and went in the elevator to the basement. We were there early so I had a chance to acclimate. Because this was a group of pre-schoolers, mom brought the book “Tails are NOT for Pulling”. There were 12 little people and their pawrents. She read the book to them and handed out the stuffed animals. She talked about how to pet a kitty and doggie, then gently explained that I had not been treated gently and so I was a special kitty who couldn’t use his rear legs. One of the children asked if my tail had been pulled and she told him yes. Then they came up and petted me one by one. A couple of the pawrents asked specifically what had happened to me, so mom told them. She said that is why we do this presentation, and that we go into the schools whenever we can. They said that we should be required curriculum in every school, and thanked us for coming to the Children’s Museum. The program Director was very touched by our presentation and will be having us back.

Hi Lestat!
Day 26 on the catpaign trail from Maine. This next presentation was especially meaningful to me, mom and the Humane Educator. This was a class of 12 seventeen and eighteen year olds that were incarcerated at the Youth prison. We altered the presentation a bit, and because of the ages of these kids, they were very graphic about just how I had been abused and paralyzed. They had a long discussion about what might make someone abuse an animal. They were quite thoughtful about it. They said someone might be abusive to make themselves feel powerful, because they might be angry and not know how to control; it and deal with it constructively. One young man said he had a dog that he would bring into his bedroom at night because his father would beat the dog if he didn’t. Mom said she had to bite her tongue because she wanted to ask what his father did to him. Animal abusers usually abuse people, too. They were all so gentle with me. One of them was in a shop class and said if they replaced my current wheels on my chair with computer chair wheels, I would be able to go in any direction easily. He was right – I hope he remembers that and designs a new chair someday. We all left feeling incredibly good about our work there that day. We all wanted to go back, and the Humane Educator was working on it when the prison underwent a regime change and they put a halt to the program letting the shelter in at all. We still hope we can get back in some day. Animals can make such a difference for people. They can touch a heart when another human can’t. The Humane Educator will keep trying.
If anyone was wondering why Molly was not included in my family blogs - it's because Molly lives with my grammy. She is my cousin and not my sister!

((¯`v´¯))MEWS FROM THE CASTLE! ((¯`v´¯))
We had a wondeful Thanksgiving Holiday with our friends. We would like to thank from the bottom of our hearts to Abby & Koshka for opening the doors of their cozy cottage to all.
Yesterday was a magical day and something incredible happened before we left Estancia Paraíso. Lady Lily and me were walking through the gardens. Lily was very sad because we had to leave Viento & Nieve. They could not come with us. The same happened with the rest of the horses.
I felt heartbroken to see my friend´s face. She approached to Viento and gave him an apple as she caressed his head. I told Lily she could visit the Estancia any time she wanted; I said she could come with her kitty plane but I could not cheer her up.
Lily said she was going to miss her friends and I could see a tear running through her little furry face. I gave her a hug. Dame Cherish was calling us; they planes were ready to take off.
Suddenly we saw a small little light in the sky; it was like a firefly, but it was daylight...
Lily and me looked up but it was gone. We started to walk;Viento & Nieve followed us.
Now there was not only a light but several and we also heard a sound that reminded us of a bell. Nieve neighed. And then we saw them... The fairy kitties.
They were the cutest creatures we have ever seen and fit in the palm of our paws. The black one flew around us and then she spoke. Her voice was petite. –My name´s Blackberry. –She said to us. –My friends and I saw how sad Lily was about leaving the Unicorns and we decided to come to Earth to help you. Lily´s eyes lit up.
-Unicorns are magical beings and so we are. –She told us. We all live together; close to the Rainbow Bridge, close to the Angels.
Another fairy came and landed on Lily´s shoulder. –I´m Beacon. –She told us and then she continued: -This is what we´re going to do. We´re going to sprinkle our fairy dust over the Unicors and the horses; this will take them to the Royal Castle. You will find them at the gardens.
Beacon looked like a Siamese kitty. –But how...? –I asked.
-You´ll see. –She answered to me. The four fairies covered Viento & Nieve with their brilliant dust. Inmediatly they disappeared. –All done. –Blackberry said.
The fairies laughed. Their sounded like a song.
Yesterday when we arrived to the Castle the Unicorns and all the horses were there waiting for us. And the fairies were there too...

Hi Lestat!
Day 25 on the sunny catpaign trail from Maine. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We all got a little nibble of turkey, and it was wonderful! The house was toasty warm and smelled sooo good! Now to start readying the house for Christmas! I am very happy and thankful to learn that Malachi was found and is back inside where he belongs. Now you have met my fursibs. I will go back now, and tell you about some more of the classes that we have gone into that were really memorable. One class was a group of 1st and 4th graders. We did our usual presentation, and everyone got a chance to pet me, except one little boy. He was in a wheelchair, too. He asked if he could hold me. Mom reluctantly said OK. She explained that because of how I was hurt, (by someone’s hands), I didn’t really like to be held. But she said he could hold me for a minute. She placed me on his lap, and I settled right down and let him pet me and pet me. I purred for him. Mom and the Humane Educator were amazed. That little boy was so happy – his smile was from ear to ear. Mom said later she had tears in her eyes. She felt that seeing how much mom cared for , and treated me normal despite my special needs, helped him feel less different than the other kids. Again that’s because mom really focuses on what I can do, and not what I can’t. I didn’t tell her, but I knew that little boy needed to hold me, and I felt a connection with him. It was a really wonderful experience for all of us. Don’t forget to stop by Queen Lola (131462), to support her through her reign as Queen of November. We were all busy packing our bags yesterday after the Polo Game. It was time to leave the Estancia in Argentina to fly back to USA. Dame Cherish, her pilots and the planes were ready to leave first thing in the morning. It took us 11 hours to arrive to the Royal Castle. Today is Thanksgiving and King Mickey and I wanted to spend this special holiday in America. We want to thank each one of our friends for being part of our lives, for the wonderful times we shared together, for the sad moments when you were by our side, for your love always... THANK YOU!!
And now, dear kitties, let´s celebrate this “turkey day”! Since the Castle has been closed for a couple of days and we´re getting everything ready to the Royal Wedding next Saturday; King Mickey and I invite all to spend the day at Abigail & Koshka´s cottage on page #147614. We´re also bringing Abby & Koshka pumpkin pies and pumpkin breads baked by Lady Artemis.
Lady Mimi & Lady Strudel have prepared a thanksgiving basket for each one of the kitties. They are filled with smoked almonds, crunchy caramel corn, French chocolates and Caffe Latte Mocha Mix. We hope you like them!!

♥Sending You Kitty Kisses & Hugs!!♥
Hello my precious friend Lestat, Mommy Diane and all the fur babies!!
It´s been a lovely day in Buenos Aires and we had +77F; our Momma loves days like this; not too hot and not too cold.
While Mom was at work; a package arrived home. Grandma received it and said we had to wait for Mommy to open it. She left it over the table and we went to smell it. It was a package coming from California. We had the greatest surprise when Mommy finally opened it!! It contained catnip, a blanket and new toys for us! I was purring of joy and so was my sissy Sally.
Momma told us they were early Christmas gifts from our fur friend Smokey and his family. We could not be happier.
I hope you´re having a super purrfect day. I send you a huge bunch of kitty kisses and hugs.
Mom and I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day. We´re thankful to have you as our special friends...

It´s a wonderful Wednesday at the Royal Estancia and all the kitties are very excited about the first Polo Game. An amphitheater has been installed outside. Every kitty wants a seat in the front rows to see the Dream Team playing.
King Mickey and I take a seat at the Royal Box.The game is about to start. The players arrive riding their beautiful horses.
The Polo has its origin in the Sagola Kangjei practiced in India about 300 BC.To play polo requires two teams of four riders comprising: two front, middle, and an advocate, which using mallets or sticks with long flexible handles, play the game riding on ponies.
Sir Winston J takes the microphone–Let´s welcome to Team One! – He says. Welcome Angel Marley, Angel Red, Sammy & Max!!
-And now dear friends, let´s welcome Team Two... Here come Prince Simba, Princess Sally, Prince Charlie & Angel Lucy!!
The kitties encourage their favourite teams. The game starts. Simba is amazed to see how fast his friends have learnt to play Polo! Sammy´s horse is strong and moves really fast; here he comes followed by Angel Marley. The ball passes like a flash in front of Princess Sally and Angel Red scores a goal.
-Woo hoo!! – Max shouts. The kitties go crazy. The game is exciting. The first round is over. Sammy, Max, Angel Red & Angel Marley will take a rest.
Sir Winston J announces the entrance of Team Three: -Let´s welcome to our friends Ernie, Pete, Vika & Miss Millie!!
Round two starts. The ball runs through the grass; it´s a little one and very elusive; Sally passes it to Simba and Charlie scores a goal.
Millie moves like a ray of light with her pinto horse. A.Lucy follows the ball with her blue eyes and... Vika scores another goal. Ernie is purring... He loves the game!!
Sir Oscar Jon, the referee, watches his clock and tells everybody the second round is over. –One more round to define this game.
Simba and his horse need a break. Mrs.Pucca takes his place.
-Let´s welcome Team four to the field! – Winston says. –Here come Zaboo,Thunderfoot, Mike & Nutty Buddy!!The kitties cheer the players. Zaboo makes his move; the ball passes close to Charlie, he hits it with his stick and passes it to Pucca. Mike sees it and comes riding like the wind in his black horse- Be careful, señorita. – He says toPucca as he gets the ball for his team. Pucca is surprised, Mike scores a goal. The game ends. Dream Team 3 – Royal Family 1.
Prince Simba smiles. The kitties are excellent players. The game was fair and it has been lots of fun. Chef Sammy is waiting for all at the Royal Dining Hall with hot dogs and catnip coke. This has been a wonderful day.

Hi Lestat!
I apologize, but today’s blog is in 2 sections. Day 23 on the cold and wet catpaign trail from Maine. So far just a cold rain with 2-3 inches of it expected, with strong winds. Inland could get up to 14 inches, Glad we are on the Coast! Meet Tobias. He is the least known and active of my family. He actually never made it into our house. He was a Maine Coon mix like me, who had been badly abused and was paralyzed like me. Some neighbors saw his owner kick him into a snow bank, but thought he would scoot out and run off. They were horrified to still see him in the snow bank the next morning, so called Animal Control. He was first brought to the emergency clinic, and then to the shelter. They called mom and asked if she would take on another one. She said yes and began go over daily to spend time with him. He was only 4.6 pounds. Can you imagine a 4 year old Maine Coon only weighing 4. 6 pounds??? He wasn’t eating, & couldn’t sit up straight. They were giving him fluids and force feeding him. Then they started him on an antidepressant to try to lift his spirits and stimulate his appetite. It didn’t help. In all the excitement of how severely injured/sick he was when he came in, they suddenly realized they had forgotten to test him for FIV/ FeLV. Mom was devastated when his FeLV test was positive. She had bonded with him. She was going to have us all vaccinated against FeLV so she could bring him home. But he was continuing to fail and not thrive. The shelter had him examined by the vet again, and she determined that his lack of appetite, inability to sit straight, and lethargy was due to his FeLV. He was end-stage and had developed lymphoma of the Central Nervous System. He was clearly not going to survive, and the shelter determined euthanasia was his best option. Volunteers are never allowed to be present when they euthanize an animal. Mom requested they make an exception for her. They were bonded and she wanted to be there for him and hold him as he crossed. They agreed and even let mom smudge the room with sage, play some wonderful, beautiful music, and hold him as he crossed. They warmed up some purple, lavender and lime green fleecy blankets in the dryer. Mom wrapped him up in them and told him what they were going to do. He had finally found love at the end of his life and he was ready to let go. He passed so beautifully and peacefully. Mom was impressed with the dignity and gentleness with which they treated him. Our shelter is not a no-kill shelter, but it is low-kill. They euthanize only for cases where an animal is terminal and suffering – like Tobias, or in the case of dogs, one that is vicious and can’t be rehabbed. Everyone else – even us paralyzed kitties, are given a chance.

I will NOT be visiting anyone tomorrow as it is Thanksgiving. Mom is having my grandpawrents over for Thanksgiving dinner, and then has to go to work. Look for my blog in the Mews Room. It is a very busy day for most people, so please do not feel like you have to visit me and vote tomorrow. Thanksgiving is a day to spend with family and friends. We don’t want to add to the stress of having to do a lot on this day. Purrs and kitty kisses. Namaste. Thomas

Come visit me, Molly, Harry, Thomas, HoneyBear, Aroostesha, ARL Angel Alumni, PeekaBoo & Anjelica.

Hi Lestat!
Day 22 on the chilly catpaign trail from Maine. We are gearing up for a winter storm expected to drop 4-12 inches of heavy wet snow starting around midnight tonight. Jade. What a spitfire Jade is. She has been with us not quite a year and a half. She was brought into the shelter by a neighbor of the woman that owned her. The woman was too sick to take care of her, and clearly didn’t know how. She was brought in with a diaper taped onto her. Her white fur was yellow and her little bottom was excoriated from urine burns. Her owner had named her “handicat” as a play on the word handicapped. Mom spent some time with her, expressed her little bladder a bit, and all she did was purr, purr, purr. She clearly told mom she didn’t want to die, and she didn’t like her name. Mom named her Jade because of her green eyes and because she was a gem! The shelter took her to the vet. Before they took her mom told them NOT to let the vet euthanize her – she knew that is what they would want to do. She said she would take her. The vet did recommend euthanasia, but the shelter said no, they had an adopter for her, so Jade came to live with us. She was so small, it was hard for mom to express her. Once again the Cats with Paralysis group came to the rescue and gave mom lots of advice and help. When she went for her big girl surgery, mom brought the x-rays form the first vet that saw her, (because the vet doing her surgery was our vet). She pointed out a little lump on Jades back and said the shelter vet told her it was just extra skin. Mom didn’t believe it and wondered if it was a tumor. The vet looked at Jade, looked at the x-rays, looked at Jade, then the x-rays again, and then felt Jade’s back. He said this was very rare in animals, but Jade had been born with Spina Bifida, and the little lump was the out-pouching of her spinal cord – it is called a meningiocele. The mystery was solved. Jade is a fun loving kitty who has a very loud purr. She is small and feisty. Despite her paralysis, she flies through the house. She climbs stairs and furniture just like me. She can be very affectionate. Mom just wishes she would leave Nala alone. Jade goes out of her way to attack her. The catnip drinks at “Gato Negro” were great yesterday; the kitties wanted to have more and more. Some of them even wanted to dance tango and jazz!!
In a blink of an eye we were surprised by the night. King Mickey and I thought it would be fun to spend the night in Buenos Aires City and so, we asked Mali to drive our kitty bus to Hotel Faena. Behind the city of Buenos Aires and close to the Rio de la Plata is the Porteño Building, an historic building that houses Faena Hotel Universe: an urban oasis located in the neighborhood of Puerto Madero.
Conceived by Alan Faena and designed by Phillippe Starck, Faena Hotel Universe is designed as a home. It has a set of common spaces and 105 deluxe rooms.
Today it´s cloudy and the temperature is a little bit lower; we left the Hotel in the morning. We were all ready to visit Puerto Madero.
Puerto Madero is divided into 4 Dams: Dam 1, Dam 2, Dam 3 and Dam 4. In the last two years there have been built numerous upscale residential towers, highlighting the Torres El Faro, Torres River View, Le Parc Towers & Torres Renoir all of them over 130 feet high, reaching 171.3 meters in the case of Renoir and being among the largest in Argentina.
You can find the Catholic University of Argentina in Dam 2. You can also visit the Church of Our Lady of Hope opened in 1996. The springs are aligned in correspondence with Dock 2 and are occupied mostly by various offices and the Arts Pavilion that is accessible from the pedestrian walkway. Here are many fancy bars and restaurants.
All the kitties now go to see the colorful “Puente de la Mujer” (“Bridge of Women”), designed by Santiago Calatrava. It beautifies the neighborhood since December 2001, even more since 2005, the date on which a modern lighting system was placed on the bridge to be seen at night.
The neighborhood is an area heavily visited by tourists. It houses three five star hotels, the Hilton Buenos Aires, the Faena Hotel and the Sofitel Madero.
Before our tour ends, King Mickey and I invite our fur friends to visit the Ship Museum “Frigate Sarmiento” placed in Dock 3. For many years it was a ship of the Navy, where cadets learned the trade of sailor. It was built in England in 1898, commissioned by the Argentine government and made 39 trips through all the seas. The kitties take pictures; they´re having a great time. When the sun comes down, we will be all on our way back to the Estancia...

Hi Lestat!
Day 21 on the cool and sunny catpaign trail from Maine. PeekaBoo. I was the 4th cat into the household, but I’ve already told you my story, it’s PeekaBoo’s turn! She was one of 5 kittens born to a very young cat, who didn’t know much about being a mom. The 5 were born in the shelter, and the mom buried 2 of them in the litter box. She didn’t feed them well. Mom brought them all home to foster the next day. All of the kittens and the mom cat got very sick with the upper respiratory virus. Sadly, 3 of the kittens died over the course of the next week. Only PeekaBoo (black) and her sister Gretchen (calico) survived. They both had severe eye infections, and PeekaBoo’s was so severe that she has nothing but scar tissue over one eye, and is blind in that eye. The momma cat did feed PeekaBoo, but she kept pushing Gretchen away, so mom bottle-fed Gretchen. When they were big enough for their big-girl surgery and to go back for adoption, mom thought that she had to keep Gretchen since she had bottle fed her, but then she looked at PeekaBoo and her eye and was concerned that when she got to be a big black cat with a messed up eye, she might get turned out, so mom kept PeekaBoo. PeekaBoo is a very nervous and skittish kitty. But again, she is more brother’s, and he can do anything with her. Her fur is as soft as silk, and she LOVES being out in her safe kitty pen. She doesn’t care if it is windy, raining a little or snowing – she will go out in it. She is a tough little kitty. Shortly after mom adopted her, she noticed that she got very winded just running through the kitchen. She took her to the vet where she was diagnosed with asthma and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy – an enlarged heart that doesn’t pump as well as a normal heart. She has a fluid pill she takes when her breathing gets bad, as well as an asthma pill. She bonded with Scamper. He nurtured her and she would sleep with him on mom’s bed every night. He would even let her nurse on him. She still misses Scamper. None of the other cats will snuggle with her. For a long time after Scamper crossed she would not sleep with mom. She now spends some of every night at the foot of the bed where she would be with Scamper. She really is a love. ((¯`v´¯))MEWS FROM THE CASTLE! ((¯`v´¯))
It rained a river yesterday night and it´s been said it will continue raining today. Meanwhile, the temperature still keeps around +90F and the kitties are getting ready to take a tour to Buenos Aires´ City.
We´ve rented a kitty bus and Malachi is driving it.
The trip from Tigre to Buenos Aires City takes about 45 minutes. Buenos Aires is beautiful. Princess Sally stands and explains our fur friends we´re on 9 De Julio Avenue; the widest avenue in the world. The kitties look through the windows. A huge quantity of cars come and go. The bus stops for a minute. Sally tells all to take a look to the Obelisco. The Obelisco is a monument considered an icon of Buenos Aires, built in 1936 to mark the fourth centenary of the foundation of the city. It´s located in the Plaza of the Republic, at the intersection of avenues Corrientes and 9 de Julio. It was declared a National Historic Landmark.
The kitties get down the bus and Queen Boo Kitty makes sure to take a lovely photo of them all in front of the Obelisco. And now we´re on Corrientes Avenue. Oh boy!! Mom loves this street so badly!! I remind the silly songs she listens at home; it goes like that: “las luces se encienden y calle Corrientes se llena de gente que viene y que va...” Probably you haven´t heard it before but it´s very popular over here. (the lyrics mean “the lights turn on and Corrientes street get full of people coming and going...”)
Corrientes Ave. is the hub of nightlife and bohemian city of Buenos Aires. In its bars and theaters coined the tango, and throughout history, big bands and singers, including the popular idol Carlos Gardel played and singed their songs there.
An Argentinian writer, Roberto Arlt wrote the following words about Corrientes Ave.:
Corrientes, at night! While the other streets sleep to wake up at six o'clock, Corrientes, wandering the streets, lights at seven in the evening all its neon signs, and rectangles garlanded green, red and blue, white walls throws its reflections methylene blue, its yellow picric acid, as the glorious challenge of fireworks.
The street you love, the street you really love. The street is so nice to walk because it´s the street of forgetfulness, joy and pleasure.
Princess Sally anounces we´re in front of El Gato Negro. One of the nicest places to have a drink in Buenos Aires. Gato Negro is a classic and traditional bar and restaurant in Buenos Aires, declared Notable Café and Cultural Heritage of the City of Buenos Aires and is also one of the main spices selling houses in town. In its first floor restaurant has a lounge where events are usually performed accompanied by jazz and tango music.
We´re all ready to have a kitty drink there. The day is young... There are still many things to be seen...
