We gain an hour of sleep this weekend!! Dayllight savings comes to an end at 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning. With the clocks turned back, it will be less dark in the morning but darkness will fall earlier in the evening. Arizona, Hawaii and Puerto Rico stay on standard time all year round.
The concept of daylight-saving time may have first been proposed by Benjamin Franklin in 1784 to the Parisians. The thought was that Americans would appreciate an extra hour of sunlight and conserve energy (candles and oil back then).
Transitions may disrupt chronobiologic rhythms and influence the duration and quality of sleep as the effect lasts for several days after the shift. People who suffer with sleep disorders seem to find the bi-annual transitions more difficult. The extra hour of sleep means a lost hour of afternoon sun, which increases reliance on electricity and decreases the potential for, vitamin D-giving outdoor activities. Nearly half of the world’s population has lower than optimal levels of vitamin D, often called the sunshine vitamin.

We are so sorry about your loss of both Jacy and Maggie. They were very lucky to have such a good family that took such good care of them. Thank you so much for your kind words. I rest peacefully knowing both Jacy and Maggie are out of pain and leading a good life. There are days I really miss them but then I just sit down in a quiet place and talk to them. It works for me.
Each of my girls have a special place in my heart no other kittie will ever replace. (good thing I have a big heart!)Come visit me, Holllie, Abby, Maggie, Jacy & Ari.

Dearest Maggie and family
We were so sorry to read of Maggie's loss at such a young age along with Jacy's loss after such a long life. It made our Mom cry because she got us baby brothers from the shelter to help heal the loss to our family (humans and cats included) of an older cat to cancer in early October.. We hope you are finding healing in such a loss. May you feel peace in knowing the love you gave them in life will never die. They must have given you great joy, friendship and love as well. This will stay in your heart forever. I'm sure Jacy welcomed Maggie with a warm embrace and they are your special kitty angels looking out for both of you.
