The Friskies, the cat Oscar award
All CatChannel felines are winners!
An hour and 25 minutes of funny, cute and interesting short feline videos consisting of four categories:
1. CATness: the essence of cat behavior, capture a cat (or multiple cats) just being a cat, moments of pure cat wonder, quirkiness, and delight;
2. CATcom: capture a cat (or multiple cats) in a humorous situation;
3. CATventure: capture an indoor cat (or multiple cats) on an adventure;
4. CATchall: miscellaneous category for Entries that don't fit in to one of the other categories.
Judging criteria:
Originality & overall artistic impression (25%)
Cinematography & overall technical production (15%)
Audience appeal & entertainment quality (15%)
Portraying cat playfulness or quirks (if appropriate) (15%)
Sense that there's a story being told (15%)
Portraying cat's perspective (15%)
This year's awards took place in October but never to early to videotape kitties for the next event.

Vote for Benjamin #133218 on 10/14 for COTD!!!!
Talk about a couple great Moms! BENJAMIN #133218 and his siblings hadn't been born very long when their house caught on fire. Their Momcat couldn't get them out in time so she very bravely lay over them. When the Firefighters arrived, they found her and off they all went to a Pet Hospital. While Benjamin's Momcat was recovering, the kits grew and all went to their furever homes. BENJAMIN went with the Mom of the POP-aka Port Orchard Pride. Surely you know of them? They are a very famouse, friendly, and fantastic cat family whose members all have their COTD badge. That would be Percy, Riley, Sarajayne and, of course, Samuel D. Houston, past COTM 9/2008 and founder and first Commissioner of the MHL.
As we all know, some cats have special talents, and Benjamin's is a wealth of friendliness. BENJAMIN #133218 worked tirelessly to spread cheer and love to the members in an adult family home where his Mom worked. But as much as cats love routine, he has to be flexible. Mom is going back to school and so he will be making a fantastic journey from WA to OH.
So let's give BENJAMIN #133218 his shiny new COTD badge for special services as a therapy cat, and send him on his way to further adventures.

April 15th, 2009, was a most special day! It was Pepper's NINETEENTH birthday! Yes, this most beautiful, solid black kitty is a 19 years old senior citizen! Pepper was born in a barn and orphaned at 10 days when her fur Mom died. She was taken in by her loving furrever Mom and hand raised on a kitten bottle. Pepper had lymphoma when she was 8 years old, but went into remission. Now she's fighting chronic bladder infections. In fact, she's taken so many antibiotics by mouth, she said "Enough is enough!" and she will not take any more. Now she has to get the injections. Won't you please go by page #125654 and leave a vote for this sweet little old lady so she can wear a COTD badge with pride the next day? Pepper, along with Mocha's Myst'ry & Sebastian Koko, will joyfully celebrate Pepper's new badge!

She can also go and find some cute stuff at the Avatar Shop on the Edit avatar page (It's on the top of the Edit area).
Me and mommy….oops, I’m still learning my grammar…I mean, Mommy and I are just soooo excited about being voted COTD.
We did not know that we were in the running for this honor; because we have been too busy getting acquainted and I’ve been too busy training both my mommy and my daddy since I arrived on Friday. Gosh, I didn’t know how much work I would have to do to get them trained. They are definitely a work in progress and I think I’ve got a lot of work for such a little kitty. However, they are so enthusiastic about taking care of me, so I’ll give it my best shot. (That’s what good kitties do, huh?)
Where was I? Oh yeah, I was explaining about my mommy being so naïve about the voting stuff on here. She has always tried to vote for the kitties that leave messages for me and support the ones who ask for votes. And….my mommy loves to look at the kitty pictures and write notes to the ones she thinks are so special. We thought (from what little she read about the voting stuff) that kitties had to be on the Cat Channel for 2 months before they were eligible for such honors. See? I told you she was completely clueless!
However, she is sooooo happy and sooooo excited about my new badge and she wants to thank everyone who helped me get this beautiful badge.
We are going to try to visit everyone who supported me and thank each of you personally. If we miss someone, it is completely unintentional….it’s just because we can’t find the names!
Thanks again, friends. I’ve got to talk to my new mommy about those stupid little cat collars she likes so much. I’m just not a cat collar girl, and she just has to understand that. :)
P.S. The pretty kitty at the bottom of my page is my mommy and daddy's first kitty, Lucy. She was a ragdoll rescue that they had before me. Lucy had cancer and she passed over to the rainbow bridge on August 23, 2009. She was almost 9 years old and was the first and only kitty before I came.
