How We Met

My wife and I already have 5 cats. Toby is a neighborhood cat that just sort of showed up on our doorstep about a year and a half ago. He must have seen one of my other cats in the window and decided that there might be a good opportunity to cause some trouble at my house. We asked around the neighborhood and no claimed ownership of him. He was intact and never had any shots, so we took care of all of that for him with the intention of eventually bringing him inside to be our 6th “kid”. He lets us pet and hug him and he’s very playful and friendly, but he can’t stand being cooped up indoors, so I set up my shed with a nice, comfy heated bed, an outdoor heater and some lights. He treats it like his own little cat apartment. We’ve been taking care of Toby for about a year and a half now and we’re still not sure if he’s our cat, or if we’re his humans. He shows up several times a day to eat or fight through the window. We worry about him, but even the vet told us that some cats just are not meant to be indoors. All we can do is make sure he’s comfortable, well fed and gets lots of love whenever he asks for it.
