My Battle with Oxalate Stones - Hi, I'm Teddy - the runt of a litter born April 29th of 2008. I don't know that I was really the runt! You see months after I was born, struggling to gain weight, grow and thrive; I was diagnosed with Calcium Oxalate Stones. I was taken to one vet after another - the outlook was alway's dismal. They all said the same thing, "A diet of CD and lots of water". I don't think to many people thought I would live to see my first birthday. At 5 months I was only weighing 2 lb's. Thankfully, my family of 2-legged supporters continued to research alternatives. At 6 months I went into surgery. I had an undescended Testicle which required a bit more effort to become neutered - while the Vet was in there, he removed as many of the Oxalate stones as possible. They were everywhere! My 2-legged owners found a holistic vet. Between surgery, a raw (homemade diet) with added potasium citrate and lots of love. I'm celebrating my first year oxalate stone free. I wanted to share my story in the event other male kitty's out there could potentially benefit from my experiences. Your PH level is ket in controlling both Oxalate and struvite stones! Merry Christmas - With Love TeddyCome visit me, Tink & Teddy Theodore.
