The temperature was high 70 & low was 50 this morning, now it's 651 with humidity 67% & wind is 15 MPH. Saturday's suppose to be Showers & High 49.

I want to Thank You All for making me your Surprised Cat of the Day winner on March 30, 2011. It was such a wonderful and purr*fect surprise when mom congratulated me.

Thank You for being so kind with the gifts, food, treats, yummies and anything else I may have forgotten. I will, of course, Thank each of you in order of your visits to me.

So My Furiend, As you can see on my Photo page I have a new friend, This is my first time with Him Or her. My pawrents got him Or Her at a place called Pets Plus On Saturday 9/4, His Birthday Is 4/7/10 ,he’s about 4 months, He’s is what they Call a (Sun Conure) He Or she Has a lot of yellow on the head and orange, The Feather tail is green and blue, We were told that they grow the fastest in the first 12 weeks So he’s about to the size he’ll stay at and of course watch his weight, To find out If the bird is a girl or boy we will have the blood test done, The man at the store said that’s the only way to find out If it‘s a girl or boy. They live for 30 years, So my pawrents just kidding say he’ll out live us, Me yes My pawrents No. So They got him because I was such a good girl with my mom’s girl friends bird (Conrad) that they thought I should have some company. We are taking a poll on names, There are a few names below that we would like you to chose from Or if you have a very Unusual name let us Know, We don’t want common names. We have been really thinking about the last name on the list, But you may have a better one. The name should be for a girl or boy. We also would like a first and middle name. Please let us know within the next 2 days .MOL!

474 ~*~OMG, WHAT A SURPRISE!!!~*~
The temperature was high 74 & low was 56 this morning, now it's 72 with humidity 33% & wind is 10 MPH. Sunday's suppose to be Partly Cloudy & 70.

About 9:30 PM 8/26/2010 mom was re-reading my profile and noticed that I was due for another COTD but she thought that I already got one in April. That wasn't the case at all and noticed that I had lots of votes. She was really hoping I wasn't gonna get it but sure enough when Girl Power Crew signed in Friday morning 8/27 that there was my picture in the COTD Window.

I would like to Thank You all who came to visit and voted for me to be your Surprise COTD today. It really was a SURPRISE. Well, I guess it really was worth having a bath this past Monday as I wouldn't want to be embarrassed of being all dirty and smelly as Queen of the Day!!! MOL!!! Mom is really proud of me for being such a purr*fect little girl and for coming to be part of the family.

Now onto about the bird, dad bought up the bird from the den and well the cage is big ,so it had to go on the table, the bird was more scared of me then me of him, every time he saw me he would go onto the other side of the cage ,when I got close to him he would get really loud and flap his wings and the food would go all over, oh my what a mess, so I just laid on the floor near the cage, every now and then I would walk away and from a distance I would watch the bird walk back and forth on the perch, then the bird went down the den for the night and they covered the big mouth, boy is he loud, they say he’s about 11,they say they live for 30 years. So today is another day, I’m sticking with mom, Going to get some lap time MOL! Have a great day =^..^= Purrs & Kisses

Today Is going to be about 80 degrees and still humid. Well I was told that today we were getting a house guest, My mom’s friend is going on vacation for a week, they have a (BIRD) yes you read right a (BIRD), and guess who’s the guest, the (BIRD) I heard my pawrents say about where they were thinking of keeping the bird, mom said Down in the den, I can’t get down in the den, There is a door and it’s always closed after someone comes up or goes down, Dad said we can keep him in the dining room, alright, I like eating in the dining room, Tee Hee. For today the weather is going to be High 92,cloudy with showers, The temp for right now is 81, the humidity right now is 76%, So for you out side kitty’s who live in the hot weather area try to drink plenty of water. And on to the yellow jackets, they seem to have left us, But do hang around the flowers to pollinate them, But not making any more hives, I believe they finally got the hint, be sprayed and die or just get out of dodge TeeHee. Me I just getting ready to take a short nap, while my pawrents are at work again. I see I have a few new kitty friends, I like to hear all about new adventures that you kitty’s may have had. His mom’s sons friend got Katya from a classmate and ended up bringing her to Koskas house. Well, she snuggled up to her mom and stole her heart and also Koshka too!! Happy End of the Weekend to you All,

Well, Aunt Linda is off to Washington, DC, for this week, and will come back on Friday. It's for work. As I've told some of you in the past, she works as a social worker in the nursing home attached to the Phoenix VA Hospital. For the past year and a half, they have been busy implementing a new directive sent down by the powers that be - one that Aunt Linda totally agrees with by the way. That is to humanize and make more like home for the residents who stay in the nursing home. It is my opinion that the Phoenix VA has one of the best nursing homes of all in the US. They have wonderful volunteers and great staff who really care for the residents who live there. Linda is the caregiver contact for the Phoenix VA and is heavily involved in implementing the new directive mentioned above. One of the big things they are doing is to introduce resident pets who live full-time in the nursing home (they have had pet therapy by pets who visit for a long time - in fact some of my fellow kitties and past doggies have been involved in this pet therapy). Their first live in pet was a seeing eye dog who came and stayed in the VA with his owner. His owner, unfortunately, died this year, and his son donated him on a trial basis to the Phoenix VA. If it works out, and it seems to be, he will live there on a permanent basis, and, if any time in the future, due to health problems or such he is unable to stay there, he has plenty of staff who are just waiting in line to adopt him for his remaining years. The reason the dog is not being retrained for another blind individual is that he is past the age to do that. They will be getting a second dog in on a short-term basis. He will be coming in to be with his owner while his owner is here, and then will go home with the owner when the owner leaves the nursing home. Right now, no cats are planned because of the location of the VA (surrounded by busy city streets and no way to prevent the cat from leaving the nursing home as patients, staff, and relatives come and go). They had problems with the seeing eye dog for the first few weeks (he was lost without his owner and would wander out). Linda was responsible along with a fellow staff member to solve this problem, set up a schedule for meeting all his needs, etc (she even has the tough job of babysitting him a few afternoons a week until she goes home - he even follows her around the nursing home when she has to go to visit patients during that time). He has special pals with many of the staff (nurses, etc) and follows them on their rounds when they are able to have him accompany them. When no one (patient or staff) is available to keep an eye on him, he has his own quarters, complete when doggy door and access to a safe, fenced outdoors area.

Oh My What A Surprise I opened my page Today And Seen I Now have A New Cat Rescue Badge, Thank You So Much For This Special Badge, I Will always wear this with such pride. Again Thank You CC . The garden is doing well, The corn is getting nice and tall, the cucumbers are getting big, my pawrents have picked some, We have yellow Tomatoes and they have started to pick them also, the beans need to be picked so guess they will be picked this weekend ,and also the sweet yellow peppers need to be picked so looks like there is a lot of work needs to be done, My pawrents go out early in the morning and water, but that looks like that may change soon as I see a timer for watering, that leaves more time for me, MOL!

Hey geuss what I made dad stump his toe on the front door after I hacked up a fur ball on the carpet.

I hacked up the fur ball, he picked me up, put me out side, then as he shut the door he hit the door on his big toe.

Now it hurts like CRAZY!!

Today is going to be another really nice day, Then it will be down hill from here, Hot-Hot-Hot.
So for today here is a cute one, Is it bad luck if a black cat follows you? That depends on weather you’re a man or a mouse. (Only 1 today), my pawrents are getting ready for work again. Oh and before I forget to tell everyone my mom did the cat college and finished her final and passed, I really proud of her. MOL!

Well my Fur friends I have some very sad news, My daddy’s parents Doggie Snowy Went to the rainbow bridge, they said she got really bad over the weekend and they took her to the vet on Monday ,when they got there snowy started running around like I’m OK with what your decision will be, she lived a very good life in dog years she would have been about 105, When she came to see me, I would follow her around, I just wanted to play with her tail ,but she would always back away and go the other way ,So my grandparents would always bring her bed too, and I showed Snowy ,then I’ll just lay in your bed, Snowy did not mind as long as I was not sniffing her. She was a really nice doggie Friend. I’ll Miss her.
Today is going to be another hot day, they say this heat may let up maybe by Thursday. so I just chilling today. I want to say Thank You to all kitty’s that came out to vote for Mrs. Pennypacker yesterday Have to go, You all have a beautiful day. Purrs &kisses

My Pawrents want to share with each of my friends my photo’s from the first day home, The Camera was wrong date, it was 8/3/07 first day home till present, The photo at the top of my page, with my new photo I was a little over 1. yes my pawrents take lots of photo’s, me, and I just sit there like what’s that? Teehee. Dear Stripey & Gang,

Hello!!! First, please accept our apologies for this cut & paste and second, for our prolonged absence from daily blogging. Our secretary has finally reached a point where she promises to be more attentive to helping us keep in touch with all our friends. We’ve been keeping her very busy. The three of us went to the Dr. Bob three weeks ago for our yearly exam. Lelu did fine other than being extremely traumatized. Amber gained 2 pounds. She’s had a run of serious eye infections, so they did a Herpes eye test on her to see if it's contagious and/or what medication will work best for her. The test came back negative which was great. Mom has to put artificial tears in her eyes to keep them lubricated. My folks were very concerned with me because I’ve been throwing up after I eat. When Dr. Bob touched my throat I started gagging. He said that I wasn’t throwing up my meals but regurgitating the food because of asthma. Dr. Bob did a chest X-ray on me which confirmed the asthma, showed I had the beginning of arthritis [it must be from the Mouse Hockey] and that my heart was enlarged. My folks had to wait over a week for the results of the cardiac workup to come back. The end result was that I have an enlarged heart which they will keep an eye on but I don’t have to do anything else. Mom has emptied the house of Yankee candles, perfume & air fresheners as not to trigger the asthma. Mom is finally calming down. The funny thing is that everyone calls me lover boy because I’m the most affectionate. It must be why God gave me an extra large heart. MOL!

Hello dear kitties, moms & dads. Only a week left until the votes are tallied & I’m waiting, though somewhat anxiously (MOL), to see if I’m elected as your COTM for July. Thank you all for your loyal support & for accompanying me on to far off lands to find some unique dads!
The Z Zone presents another selection from my “All About Dads” animal collection. We’re off to South America again today to visit another unique dad so grab your mosquito spray & let’s get going! A nearby column of SUVs is waiting for them & sets off for the jungle. The caravan stops by the edge of the jungle &, pushing through the dense underbrush, Zaboo suddenly stops, ears perked. “I hear some chattering up ahead so I think we’ve found our featured dad. There they are, the South American Marmoset! Marmoset is the common name for certain long-tailed, tropical New World monkeys that differ from other monkeys in having two instead of three molars on each side of the upper jaw and in having long, curved claws (rather than nails) on all the toes except the great toe & they have non-opposable thumbs. These animals all have soft, silky fur and are gentle in disposition. They’re arboreal, feeding on fruits, insects, and tree sap so we’re not in any danger. Among mammals, the South American Marmoset may win the prize for most-involved dad. The marmoset mother starts pulling away from her twins a few weeks after they're born. Then the male steps up to carry, feed, and groom the infants with some help from their older siblings. One reason for the marmoset father's high involvement may be the high cost of birth for the mother, whose twin babies make up 25 percent of her body weight. It's like a 120 pound woman giving birth to a 30-pound baby! On top of that, two weeks later, she's pregnant again! Unlike other species, in which nursing can provide a kind of temporary birth control for new moms, marmoset mothers can get pregnant right away.” The group exits the jungle after a few minutes & return to civilization with a new admiration for the dedication of this father.

Here’s a quick vote. I’m getting my self into some trouble this morning, I just ran through the house like some one was going to get my tail, I just zipped around the corner of the kitchen and My pawrents got a cool breeze when I flew by. And that is the only thing that’s going to be cool Today they say it’s going up to 98. Well I can’t wait till this weekend when I get to go to TJ’S Party, He has all kinds of Ice creams, I had one of those Cat smoothies and they are lip smacking good.
