I haven't heard from you in a long time, my friend. How have you been? Did you have a nice Christmas?
We had a white Christmas - We had about 5 inches of snow and then we got about 9 inches of snow this past Sunday night and it's still here. We hope that it will start melting tomorrow...We're not used to lots of snow down here. :)
How's your Grandma? I've been keeping her in my prayers, my friends.
By the way, while you were away, I was the Queen of the Cat Channel for December. Isn't that cool? :) Now, I'm back to being just Boo Kitty...Tee Hee

Thank you for writing and I'm so sorry to hear that you've had a sick goat and your granny is sick, too. We are so sorry to hear that she has cancer and has a year to live. We believe in prayer and we will keep your granny in our prayers.

I believe it’s going to be a long day for my mom. I woke her at 5:00 a.m. She said that pretty soon, she might as well not even go to bed, because I keep getting her up earlier and earlier. MOL
I had a pawdicure yesterday and I was a very good girl during it, too. Daddy held me and Mom cut my nails. I didn’t mind her cutting my nails, but I was afraid that she might try to put some of that colored polish or something on my nails. Tee Hee

Okay...here's the scoop....My vacation only lasted 1 day...That's right, just 1 day!! Tee Hee
You see, when we got to our house in Tennessee, I immediately went under Mom and Dad's bed in their bedroom and wouldn't come out. I didn't eat, drink any water, or even use my litter box the whole 30 hours we were there. Mom called my vet and he told her I might stay there for up to 3 weeks...Mom told him that we were only supposed to stay until Sunday. Tee Hee So...he said since I've been sick so much, he thought they might need to bring me home and boy, was I happy!! :)
As soon as I got home, I ate, drank my water and used my litter box...And, I played with some of my toys, too! Mom and Dad promised me that I don't have to go back, unless I want to. So, we are all staying home and they will go back on Saturday, because the town up there is having their bicentennial celebration and Mom and Dad want to go. They will go on Saturday and come home that evening. That way, I don't have to go and they'll be home with me that night.
The next time they decide to go and spend time at the house, I will go to summer camp...At least that's what Mom calls the boarding place at my vet's office. Tee Hee

By the way...we've been battling squirrels at all our bird feeders (a couple of days ago, Mom counted 10 at one feeder and more at the others), so we put squirrel baffles up. Well, our visitor to the feeder outside the breakfast room window tonight completely ignored the squirrel baffle...he climbed the bush and started eating. Mom had to stick her camera between the slats of the blinds at the window to get the shot. The photo of our raccoon visitor is the last one in my gallery.

I'm so sorry she lost Elijah, her babies father this past winter. Did he have an accident or was he just old?

4/28 Shadow presents “Le Chat Noir” The Black Cat
Today the moon is full!
A Good mews story
In 1996, Seattle Washington, a one year old black cat, Sneakers, disappeared from her yard. The family, including Sneakers owner, Hilary, 4 years old, was devastated. The family did all the usual things to find Sneakers: posted flyers, went door to door, contacted local shelters. Sneakers was never found or returned. Eventually he was replaced with other cats.
In 2006, an administrator from the Sacramento CA animal shelter called Hilary. A cat had been turned into the shelter because the family couldn’t care for the cat anymore. The cat was scanned for a chip, and a phone call resulted. After 10 years, Sneakers 10 years old and Hilary, now 14, were reunited.

4/26 Shadow presents“Le Chat Noir” The Black Cat
A gray day today with rain & winds expected, in the 50s.
Hope every kitty & their pawrents had a nice weekend.
Today is ASPCA National Kids and Pets Day

Krazy Kat was the first black cat in a cartoon strip. It was first published in 1910 by Hearst Newspapers. He became a movie star in 1916 and into the 1930s.
In the 1920s, Felix the Cat, a generous, fearless and optimistic character starred in 80 films. He had a theme song “Felix Kept on Walking” which sold millions of records. Felix was in the first ever “talkie” movie and was the first moving image seen on television in an experimental test broadcast in 1928.

4/25 Shadow presents“Le Chat Noir” The Black Cat
An overcast day with temperatures in the 50s, light rain expected.
This is the last in the series on cats that are all black. It is the Havana Black Oriental Self Color that is featured here.
Prior to World War II, there was thought to have been a Siamese-type cat with a solid black coat. The cat today is not the same. In the 1960s, dedicated breeders, in the United Kingdom, began a program to produce a plain-coated cat of Siamese type without a restricted coat pattern. The Havana Black is the result of this breeding program. The breed is recognized in all countries.
This cat does not like to be left alone and should have the company of another cat. It is intelligent, affectionate, athletic and outgoing. In fact, it has a very high activity level. It is also very talkative. Its body is long and slim and of medium size. The Havana Black has a long whip like tail and long legs. Its head is triangular wedge shape, with a straight profile and large wide-set ears.
The coat is short, sleek and close lying, with little grooming required. The color is jet black to the root with no shading or markings. Its eyes are Oriental in shape and slanting toward the nose and the eye color should be a clear green.
