During my last few visits to Dr. Laura they took several x-rays and discovered that I had been shot at one time and the pellet is still in me.
My cat hobbies: Sleep, nuzzle

Pray for all homeless and feral kitties.

How We Met
We went out to eat one night and noticed this gray cat trying to get in and she kept getting put back outside. She was still there sitting outside when we left I scooped her up and brought her home with me to her forever home.
She was flea infested, ear mites and just all around scrawny but such a beauty.
Took her to the vet to get a check up and take care of all her ailments and found out she was pregnant, mom wouldn't let them abort so we have a mom and 2 boy kitties, Bubby (Adam) and Beanie (Carl). That was the last litter she had.
They have been with me since March, 1997.
They allowed me to share their lives with them and I was so very blessed that Mealie gave me Angel Sir Beanie and Angel Bubby to love and cherish.
We recently discovered that I had been shot and the pellet is still in me. I've been with mom since 1-97 and she never knew that I had been shot.
Today, Saturday 11-5-2011 I received the results from Mealie's biopsy..that I have been dreading.
She has been diagnosed with an Oral Squamous Cell Tumor, the same kind that Beanie was diagnosed with.
The tumor is located in a place that is inoperable, possibly Radiation Therapy would not be an option either.
It is a very aggressive type of cancer and progresses rapidly.
Dr. Laura is going to call Purdue and talk to them to see what they could recommend. Having been through this with Beanie earlier this year, I know what the prognosis is and unfortunately know what to look for.
The vet showed me x-rays they had taken of Amelia, she pointed out where Mealie had been shot in left side, this occured before I found her, the pellet is still there.
It is the first that I had heard of this as she had no symptoms or problems, it has been in her since 1996.
She has been through enough in her life without someone shooting her, it just breaks my heart and made me sick to my stomach.
My main goal is to keep her as comfortable as I possibly can until the inevitable, she is on pain meds, antibiotics, fluids along with Prednisone and is here beside me on the couch, purring :)
I will update her progress as time allows.
Again I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your kind and caring words of comfort along with your prayers for her.

we have a nicer day today is actually in the mid 50's and is to get to the mid-upper 60's for weekend but looking at storms again for monday.
momma is to go for an eye exam in the morning to get new glasses as she is getting no see good at a distance.

Hi all kitties. Well here we are to continue this hillbilly way article on moonshine
HOW THE BESTOF THE BEST WAS MADE
For this section, two men who are reputed to have made some of the best to come out of Georgia tell how they did it
Go to the wood and find a good place. Make a mudhole which contains plenty of good thick red clay for use in the furnace. Also construct any water lines needed for the flake stand
Choose the corn. Do not use a hybrid or yellow corn. Use a good fresh pure white corn which will produce about 3 quarts of whiskey per bushel. Get nine and a half bushels.
Put at least a bushel and half of corn aside to sprout
In winter, put this corn in a barrell or tub, add warm water, and leave it for 24 hours. Then drain it and move it to the sprouting tub. Cover it with pretty warm water, leave it for 15 minutes and drain the water off. Put the tub close to a stove and turn the cold side to the stove at least once a day and so on
In summer simply put the corn out in the sun in tow sacks and sprinkle warm water over them once a day and flip the sacks over.
Take the remainder 8 bushels of corn to be ground up. Take this meal to the woods the last 3 or 4 days should have been spent building the furnace and installing the still. Build a fire under the still. Fill it nearly full with water and stir in a half bushel of corn meal. When it comes to a boil, let it bubble for 35 to 40 minutes. Cook it wll or it will puke too much when cooking later. When it has cooked sufficiently, bring one of the barrels over. Put it under the slop arm of the still, push in the plug stick and let the contents of the still fill the barrel. Add a gallon of yet uncooked meal and let the hot contents of the barrel cook it alone. Make sure it is stirred in well. Move the barrel aside and repeat the whole process until all the meal is cooked, and all 7 barrels are filled. Go home.

Now I cant tell yall how to construct a still cause I might get the revenoors on me. But I can tell u a few ways to hide one.
Hiding the still:
Since cold water is an absolute necessity, stills are often highup on the side of a mountain near the source of a stream. Water on the north side of a hill flowing west was preferred by many. Some count on the inaccessibiblty of the spot the choose for protection. Others however:
Build a log shed over the still and cover this with evergreen branches.
Bend living saplings over so they conceal the still. The branches continue growing and their leaves provide cover.
Find a tree that has fallen over a raving or gully and build the still under it, add branches if necessary for additional coverage.
Find a ravine, dig out its bottom, place the still in and then set branches and saplings over the top like a roof. They should be arranged so that they clend in with the landscape
Find a large laurel thicket, crawl into the center of it and cut out a room right in the middle of the thicket big enough for the still.
Find a large spruce and put the still under its branches so it cant be seen from a plane.
Find a cave and cover the opening!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The legend has grown that all one has to do to find a still is follow a likely looking branch up into a cove and then poke around until uncovering something suspicious, like a black water pipe. Moonshiners have countered by locating many stills in so-called dry hollers. They find a cove that has no stream and pipe in the water they need from a higher wet cove,

The rumble of 8 Harleys can be heard
as the Hairballz Rainbow Riders approach Angel Mealie’s house. Each bike has two flags representing their honorary members, Doodlebug and Yum Yum.
Cyndee, Dasher, Q. Lola, Mallow, Talley, Thundie, Zoe Monique and Ammie park their bikes, take off their helmets, gather their goodies, and pounce up to the door.
They ring the doorbell and when Angel Mealie opens the door, they all shout ☆Congratulations COTD☆!
