Hello Morris! We love to smell the flowers too! Don't they smell so nice? Right now I'm laying on a chair by the swimming pool. Sometimes I try to get a drink of it. In hostile cat-to-cat confrontations, one of the bristling kitties may suddenly roll over on her back. The other cat knows that her opponent is not giving up, but preparing for a very serious fight.
By rolling over on her back, she has deployed her full arsenal--both front and back feet are ready for action. If you've ever watched a cat who has captured a mouse or is just playing hunt with a stuffed toy, you've often seen the damage her hind feet can do.
On the other hand, many cats will flip over and expose their bellies to trusted humans. This does not mean they are in the midst of an identity crisis and they they've become a dog looking for a belly rub. Many a cat owner bears the scars resulting from such a mistake.
When your cat rolls over in a non-confrontational situation, she may be showing you how much she trusts you, but don't automatically assume that you're free to take liberties. Belly scratching may come in time and when it does, be flattered. Your cat has fully accepted you as her best pal.

Good Evening Morris,
I guess that is just part of living with a kitten - having your hair physically removed. Hawkeye and Saunter pick on Ali and Merritt and pull their hair out. It lays all over the floor. My Mom comes to their rescue just like your Mom comes to your rescue. Kittens...why does it take them so long to grow up!

I know what you are saying about Max....those kittens are something else. They don't know when to leave you alone, do they? Does Max stress you out and you lose your hair, or does Max physically remove your hair? I'm glad your Mom plays referree.

This is Sammi Sue and I am running for COTM during May! I am so excited and honored to be chosen to run! I promised everyone a big surprise for my catpaign so here it is:
During the month of May, I will post a new homemade recipe for my Super Suppers and Treats, everyday! You can copy and paste to a word document or notepad or something similar, and keep the recipes for your own. At the end of May, you will have 31 recipes for your own Cat Food Cookbook! If you are creative, you could actually run them off and make a nice gift for a kitty friend or just to keep for yourself! Sound like fun? OK! Here is the first one! (Oh, I wanted to add, the one for Cinco De Mayo is really special, so keep checking!)
BETTER THAN GRASS SALAD FOR CATS
Recipe Ingredients:
1 small carrot peeled and grated
1/4 cup peeled and grated zucchini
1/2 cup chopped alfalfa sprouts
1 tsp. finely chopped parsley
1/8 cup chicken stock
1/4 tsp dried or fresh catnip
Cat Food Recipe Directions:
Combine veggies in a medium bowl. Add chicken stock and toss. Sprinkle with catnip and serve at room temperature. Store left overs in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

The storms have settle the pollen so my Mom's allergies are not so bad.
My folks left early yesterday and were gone most of the day. They just got back when we had a hailstorm, about pea size. Later that evening we had a thunderstorm. After the storm was over there was a perfect rainbow and the second rainbow had started. Gorgeous sight! My folks went for a drive in the mountains hoping to see the hooded crane that has all the birders in Idaho. They missed the bird by a ½ hour. On the way back they drove through Camas Prairie Centennial Marsh. The marsh is flooded and lot of waterfowl was present. Mom was tired when they got back. Spring in the mountains is still ways off. At higher elevations there were still lots of snow around. The grass was green but no flowers were blooming. Camas plants were not showing at the Centennial Marsh.
My pawrents watched the Mariners win one and Mom went to bed early. Today was laundry and Mom had a doctor’s appointment. Her bladder infection is cleared up. Returning from the hospital they were in another hail storm. We didn’t have our hailstorm until hour later. There are a number of clouds around and it could storm any time. It is too cold to be out on the patio so I am sleeping on the laundry so Mom can’t put it away. The pollen count is high here and Mom's allergies are acting up. A vote for both of you.
Spring continues; however thunderstorms are forecast for this afternoon with rain for the next 2 days. I spend the mornings checking out activities in the parking lot, sleep in my new hiding place in the afternoon as it is too hot for me out on the patio. After the sun sinks below the skyline I am again out on the patio. I don’t care for sun and whenever I can I stay in the shade. I don’t mind the rain if I am hunting. My pawrents tried taking me with them; but the car was too hot for me; I prefer to stay home.
My Dad got his c-pap yesterday. The old one was defective so he has a new machine. Mom is using the oxygen. Both sleep better. I woke them up this morning around 7:00 AM as I wanted my breakfast,
My pawrents went shopping today and were able to get some blueberry muffin mix so Mom has a batch in the oven. The muffins are out of the oven and my pawrents are enjoying them.

Votes for both of you. Your Mom needs a harness for Max and he needs to get used to it and the leash. You leash train a cat just like a dog. I don't get out much any more as I am bad about coming back inside.
Our weather continues to be spring. The sun is shining most of the time and alternates between being warm or cold out. Right now it is cold. There is a star tulip tree out in the yard that is almost in full bloom. I really like the new couch. Everywhere it is soft and it makes the best bed. I can lay on the top and knock the middle portion down and have a nice nest. Mom has some good still pictures of me in my bed. I have play with the mouse, and bug chaser today. Also, I have tried the patio; but it is too cold to stay out there very long. Mom put some new pictures of me on my blog.
Mom c-pap continues to give problems by shutting itself off when in used. After a night sleeping with it Mom is often tired. Yesterday she went to sleep during the Mariners’ game. The Mariners look good yesterday.
Raptors will take small dogs & cats when food is scared. At Fort Running Bear a Prairie falcon tried to take me. He scared my back and a trip to the vet was necessary. My favorite place was in front of the motor home. The falcon dived down on me. I was able to get under the chassis and the leash save me. The next day while I was inside recovering, the falcon flew down near my favorite place. I think you are right. As annoying as those kittens are, they do grow up and can end up being bigger than you. I learned that the hard way. The last two kittens are now about 10 lbs heavier than I am and much taller. I should have been nicer to them when they were young!

A vote for both of you. glad you found a bug chaser. they are sure fun to bat the ball. My Mom put another ball in the track and I insisted that they take it out. I don't like things to change. Have fun with it.
Today is partly sunny and cool out. I have tried my patio and decided I had better stay inside.
I was sleeping in my tree when my Mom can over and took me out and put me in the bedroom. There were 2 guys that came in the apartment with my Dad. When Mom let me out of the apartment, the couch was gone and a new one with different kinds of smells was in it place. Of course I needed to check it out. My got her camera out and took some pictures and a video of me inspecting the couch. The pillow are so soft and nice, I thought I should chew them. Mom said no and I stop. You can push the pillow over. My pawrents are both happy as the couch is so comfortable.
My Mom sleep all night with the mask so that was good and now my Dad is going to check out his sleep apnea. My mom got a call and my folks left. When they return they had hamburgers and a bag. I had some hamburger and then I smell the bag; I think it is okay for my Mom to use it. It is suppose to keep track of how much oxygen Mom’s is getting at night.
The last time we were at Pahanagat we parked in a new place. There was a strange smell of course I took care of that right away. The next morning the smell was back again and I cover it with a message. I got one back that afternoon. This went on for awhile and Mom said there is a fox out in the storage yard. Sure enough a small red vixen was there. We keep exchanging messages and the fox was getting ready to come out. One day a look out there was a large male fox.
