What’s mew with you? I have some very exciting mews! The other day we received an unexpected package from FedEx. Inside the box was a letter which said:
✭ “Please find enclosed two courtesy copies of the 2012 Cat Fancy boxed calendar. Sissy is featured on August 28th and Casper Todd is on October 24th.” ✭

What a fun surprise! So maybe I have a career as a "pin-up calendar girl" now! The calendars will be available in stores in early September should you be interested in purchasing a copy or two. They would make pawsome gifts.

Hope your day is filled with fun surprises too. Hope all is well there. We miss hearing from you.

Hello Bear ~
Just a short note to let you know that our Youngest sister was sworn into the Army in September. She will serve in the Air Defense Artillery as a Patriot Missile Operator. She is going to go Boot Camp & AIT training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma in February and will there until the end of July. She signed an 8 year commitment. Mom & Dad are trying to be supportive. Sister graduated in January with a double major and completely half of her Graduate Degree before deciding to do this. For now she is working as a substitute teacher. She's been back & forth to West Point several times last month and it made us think of you. We hope you are all settled into your new home.

Dear Bear,

It’s hard to believe but today if officially the halfway point of summer. Hopefully the remainder of August is a bit cooler with perhaps a little rain. We’re sorry we haven’t been on CC very much this week but Mom hasn’t been feeling well. We’ve been enjoying plenty of catnaps, playing with each other and practicing eating for the Food Eating Video for Camp Kitty. We almost have the art of eating down to Purr-fection. MOL! Mom actually finished all three of our Camp Kitty Avatars on her Netbook. This was a HUGE accomplishment!!! Her favorite thing was a pretty waterfall in Amber’s Avatar, so be sure to check it out.

What’s mew with you? This past weekend Mommy & Nana enjoyed the scrapbook show “Scrappin’ on the River” in Natchez. And guess what?! Mommy even won the big prize! She entered several of our scrapbook pages in the show. Every page she entered won a blue ribbon & one of my pages won the overall *Prettiest Page* award in the entire show. You can see photos at the bottom of my page.

TRYING
to get out say hello and vote for all of my friends. Will be unable to make practice tonight due to grammy still in hospital. Dad says he has and will stop at the chapel and say a prayer for kitty. We have been lighting prayer candles here at home too. Savanah's still upset and scared from going to the Doctor....hiding wont come out and play with me. Dad says I should play with someone else but she's my sister and don't really care too much for the others. They are all too big! Gonna try and send messages to as many of you as I can. What’s purring with you? Today is sorta an anniversary for me. It was one year ago today that I had my last skin treatment for that awful feline demodicosis. I had a total of 5 treatments, every two weeks. I was one very sick little boy. Mommy thought she was going to lose me. But thankfully with Dr. William’s knowledge, my sweet vet tech Alicia’s expertise, Nana’s TLC, and many many prayers from my furiends, I recovered. Stress can cause acute flare-ups of this disease, so Mommy is constantly worried about me. We hope & pray that I nor anyone else ever goes through that experience again.

So today we are celebrating my long journey to being a healthy, happy little fellow again. It is also Graduation Day from Cat College. Check out our graduation photos. We graduated Magna Felis Laude (with top honors)! Since all of our award boxes were already full, we did not receive a C.A.T degree. But never fear, Mommy has emailed CC Support about that!

Hello dear friend!!! Would you believe that Amber jumped on the kitchen counter when Mom answered the phone? Yep... She walked right up to a delicious Honey Roasted Turkey sandwich which was sitting there all alone. Amber was in Heaven! Mom calmly walked up to her, put her down on the floor and told Amber that she needed to make better choices. Amber said that the counter is the food paradise of the world. She hopes the phone rings when she is making lunch tomorrow! MOL!

Dear Bear,

In honor of “National Blueberry Month” we picked the sweetest basket of berries to keep you smiling all weekend. Mom said that they taste great in pancakes or in a bowl of Cheerios. We love to make muffins with them or pretend the ones that fall on the floor are hockey pucks!

We have definitely been hanging out in the AC. Mom said that I couldn't have any stroller rides until things cooled down. Are you having fun with your parent's new bedroom furniture? We're still enjoying the new furniture in our family room. So many places to sleep, so little time. MOL!

How are you? We are having an awesome pawsome day! Did you see my shiny new “Rescue Cat of the Day” badge that was on my page this morning? What a fun surprise! Casper Todd got one too. THE BASICS: Remember, your cat probably thinks of you as another cat--big, hairless, not very skilled at the things that make for feline excellence, but a cat none the less. Therefore, she tries to communicate with you in the same way as she'd try to communicate with any other member of her own species.

To get on the same wavelength, you've got to let go of your dependance on verbal communication. Of course, your cat has a wide range of vocalizations which we will deal with later, but she uses them in a complex context of body language that endows them with full meaning.

Fortunatly, a cat's body language is mostly hardwired into his genetic makeup. While each cat has his own purrsonality which will color his individual behavior slightly, the basics apply to them all, and that makes feline body language a snap to learn.

Dear Bear,

It’s been a very long & noisy day on our end. We had four over sized Con Edison trucks here from early this morning until almost 8 o’clock tonight. Our electric was off until late this afternoon. The noisy trucks will be back again tomorrow. Mom is praying that they don’t shut the electric off for a second day in a row.

The second highlight of our day was a group of birds in the backyard eating Mom’s blueberries. We don’t know who was funnier to watch … Mom’s face or the birds clipping her Blueberries. Mom reminded us that birds don’t care about using a litter box. We have no idea what she’s talking about! Why would they want to use a litter box anyway? Sometimes Mom makes no sense.

Your Mom can get the Rescue Cat Badge by going to her account page, Look under My Cat Profile & clicking on "Edit". I believe that it's on the bottom right hand side of the page. She'll see a box that says "Do you consider yourself a Rescue Cat?" [Or something along those lines] If she marks it off then the badge will appear on your page. Let me know how you make out.

Dear Bear,

We’re coming by with warm hellos. It’s been HOT, HOT, HOT here. We’ve been really lazy today. Our activities include watching the birds out front & checking out our new family room furniture. We have a couch, love seat, chair & a half [It's actually called that] plus an ottoman. The furniture is HUGE and ever so fluffy. We're trying to move around A LOT to check out every square inch! There’s room for about 2 dozen kitties. Purr-haps we can plan a P A R T Y in July when the room is completely finished. MOL! We'll have to get Mom to snap some photos to post when everything is done.

Congrats on your parent's new home! You must be having a ball running around & exploring. Our folks have been in this house for 8 years now. When they moved in the home was 25 years old. Nothing on the inside was ever brought up to date or kept up with. At this point they have gutted & redone 95% of the work themselves. It's a labor of love but everything is just the way they like it. The most challenging & rewarding room was the kitchen. We're glad that your Dad is home. We hope you had a spectacular Tuesday.

I am so excited! I just found out that I won 1st Place in Classic Siamese Best of Color Blue and 2nd Place in Best Classic Siamese over 8 months. Sami - my mom - Gor 1st Place in Best Classic Siamese over 8 months. I guess I can't bee too upset at getting a 2nd to her. Mom's cat Lolli (my 1/2 sister) got a 1st for Traditional Siamese Best of Color Seal Point, a 1st for Traditional Siamese Best Cat over 8 months, and a 2nd for Traditional Siamese Best Kitten 5-8 months. We are having a great celebration today!! Jasper A TCA WINNER!!

Dear Bear,

Hello!!! First, please accept our apologies for this cut & paste and second, for our prolonged absence from daily blogging. Our secretary has finally reached a point where she promises to be more attentive to helping us keep in touch with all our friends. Mom lost her Nana & her Aunt who was for all practical purposes, her Mother-In-Law this year. Nana was 93 years old, so it was a blessing. Our Aunt was only 70 and so full of life. We've kept your family in our prayers even though we haven't been around. We're sorry we weren't here when your Grandmother passed away. Is your Dad home?

Meanwhile, we’ve been keeping Mom very busy. The three of us went to the Dr. Bob three weeks ago for our yearly exam. Lelu did fine other than being extremely traumatized. Amber gained 2 pounds. She’s had a run of serious eye infections, so they did a Herpes eye test on her to see if it's contagious and/or what medication will work best for her. The test came back negative which was great. Mom has to put artificial tears in her eyes to keep them lubricated. My folks were very concerned with me because I’ve been throwing up after I eat. When Dr. Bob touched my throat I started gagging. He said that I wasn’t throwing up my meals but regurgitating the food because of asthma. Dr. Bob did a chest X-ray on me which confirmed the asthma, showed I had the beginning of arthritis [it must be from the Mouse Hockey] and that my heart was enlarged. My folks had to wait over a week for the results of the cardiac workup to come back. The end result was that I have an enlarged heart which they will keep an eye on but I don’t have to do anything else. Mom has emptied the house of Yankee candles, perfume & air fresheners as not to trigger the asthma. Mom is finally calming down. The funny thing is that everyone calls me lover boy because I’m the most affectionate. It must be why God gave me an extra large heart. MOL!

We have had a very hectic spring. Some good things and some bad things. As you may know - mom can't remember what I have told everyone - Mom's oldest daughter had her baby 5 weeks early. She was born Jan 24th, Leigha is doing really good now. Mom took a bad fall on March 2nd and broke her leg. She is finally off her crutches, but still limping. At her last doctor appointment she got x-rays taken. The doc said it was not healing as fast as he had hoped so she has to go back in about 5 more weeks and get another x-ray. If it's still not healing very fast, the doc want's to go back in and take some of the screws out. So, I guess we will have to wait and see on that. In the middle of May we had three sisters move in with us. It has been an adjustment, but is going well. Hectic, but well. On May 21st, mom's 2nd daughter had her second baby so Karleigh had a baby sister named Makenzie. She is also doing really well and mom has gotten to watch her a few times already. On Wednesday, mom brought Azeria in for shots and to have her get spayed on Thursday morning. Well, when they did her blood work before the surgery, they found that she was very sick. After a lot of discussion and consideration for her quality of life, the decission was made to put her down. We know that she is in no pain anymore and does not have to worry about poo anymore. We brought her home last night and burried her close to Lily under the bird feeder. Oh, and I am not able to be a daddy anymore, but mom said I could still act like a daddy to all the baby kitties. It's so good to hear from you. We think of you often & keep your family in our prayers. What’s mew with you? We think that we have a purrfect idea! In honor of Mother’s Day, what do you think about everyone putting up a photo of them with their Mom as their profile picture? We have already done ours. We also added a pic of each of us with Nana on the bottom of our pages.

Hope you like our idea. Then we can see if we look like our Moms. I think I do!

What’s mew? We learned something very interesting from the May Cat Fancy. “White cats are enigmas. These felines carry a gene that masks their true inherited color. Who knows what is really underneath unless they have a spot of color that peeks through that white coat?”

So I must really be a black kitty!!! Wow! Who would have ever guessed that?!

The temperature was high 50 & low was 40 this morning, now it's 44 feels like 37 with humidity 68% & wind is 14 MPH. Friday's suppose to be Partly Cloudy & 56.

Mom's vet visit went well this morning and her Dr. said she needs to get off the caffeine (Pepsi and Xcedrin Migraine) then her headaches should be gone. Mom says "Give up Pepsi?" Tehehehe!!!! Mom has to go back in the morning for a blood draw.

ANNIVERSARY ON SATURDAY:
Me and my girlfriend Sissy Lee 6454 will be celebrating our 3 year Couples Anniversary on Saturday 4/10/2010. We have xchanged gifts and we will open them come Saturday. I am the luckiest guy in the Universe!!!! Tehehehe!!!!

Thursday was such a beautiful and warm day (66*) so we all got to go outside in the front yard. Yes, even me!!!! Dad bought me a new doggy harness (wait a minute, I'm not a D O G G Y!!!!) Oh well, I got to go outside, too, so it works for me. Tehehehe!!!!

Hi Bear!
WOW, A NEW HOUSE!!! That is wonderful. Are you still in the same town or at least close by? Hope so, then mom won't have to leave her job. Thanks for stopping by to send your meows. Mom appreciates it! It is a nice sunny day here. Daddy went back to work on Monday so mom has been home with us by herself. Even though she can't get out of the house without help, she does pretty good inside. She goes back and forth in the wheelchair from the living room to the kitchen, and uses her walker for everything else. She tried to clean the kitchen a little yesterday, but it's so hard with not being able to move very easily and all the stuff that's in the way! Dad had to move things around so mom could get her wheelchair through and now the portable dishwasher is right in fron of the sink and counters. Oh well, she will just have to try to be patient. If we think she's been up too much, we will meow at her until she gets on the couch with a blanket in her lap. That way we can sit in her lap and purr! Purrs, Jasper & Family
