Hi! My name is Coco Catster 1315659

Under cat news at

My favorite tricks and treats are: He really likes the fuzzy wuzzy and the squeaky mouse.

Where I hang out: Hanging out with Mom!

My favorite grubs: Steak and Lobster.

My pet peeves:

What I love about my owners: My mother took me to the Vet every day for drug treatment with Imulan for Feline Leukemia. I had a remarkable recovery!!!

However, when the church prayer chain circulated, it said

"Please pray for Mr. Coco, he is in a drug treatment program."

I can give up the 'Nip anytime.

My cat hobbies: My cat shreds more paper than a government worker.

Pet motto: (To the tune of “It Came Upon A Midnight Clear”)

It came about at midnight here
That wonderous story of old
When tidy cats and messy dogs
Turned white carpets gold.

Pee on the earth, to Goodwill with this,
As heaven’s all-Persians sing,
The world in solemn stillness lay,
except cat owners clean.

How We Met

Mr. Coco passed away today, 8/12/14, after 8 years battling against Feline Leukemia. We feel blessed to have had him for so long. Any drug that can keep a cat with FeLV alive for 8 years is a miracle.

Dear Coco
We are so sorry that you had to cross the rainbow bridge but your family gave you the greatest gift by ending your suffering. We also think it is wonderful that you probably will help future kitties because of participating in that experimental program. We brought your family a big bouquet of pink roses with catnip sprigs in your honor.

Come visit me, ~*~Sabrina ~*~.

Hi Angel Coco,
We are very sorry to learn that you have become an Angel kitty now, but we also want to thank you, your family and your veterinarian for trying out a new treatment for feline leukemia. We think it is really wonderful that you have lived at least another eight years due to this treatment. I don't usually mention this too much, but I, Alexi, also have leukemia and I was diagnosed at only two. I'm on a steroid to help me and so far, so good.

We hope your mom & family are doing alright and we know they will miss you always. Purrs and hugs, Alexi and family

Greetings, sweet Angel CoCo and furamily
We just learned that you had crossed the Rainbow Bridge this morning, CoCo. We are so sorry that you had to leave us so soon, but you gave it a heck of a valiant fight, didn't you?

We hear that all of our CC angels were right there to welcome you, and that the Bridge itself glowed a bit brighter as you crossed over. Now, you have a pawsome new set of wings to master, and when you do, we hope to have you back as one of our company of Angels.

Mom, it's always the hardest, and the kindest thing we can do for our furbabies. To help them make the final crossing. But now Angel CoCo's beautiful and elusive feline spirit has been released from the confines of his sick and failing body and is free to explore all the vast wonders of the universe which lie beyond the Rainbow Bridge. We know he will often return, however, to take up residence in your heart.

Please accept this bouquet of bright blue Forget-me-nots in CoCo's honor, and our deepest condolences on your loss.

In sympathy, K. Neelix, Hedley, Jakar and mom Jamie

Come visit me, Sir Hedley, K. Neelix (Katie's guy) & Count Jakar (Vote Lil' Bear COTM).

Hello Coco
Do you remember Casper Todd blogging that Santa brought us a “special” present? Well, you will never in a million years guess what it is. Give up? We got a Sister for Christmas. She looks almost exactly like me, probably because Santa sent my pictures into Cuddle Clones & had her specially made to look like me. She is stuffed, not real thank goodness. You can see Sister (that’s her name) in our profile pictures. We do not really like her, but for some reason Mommy does.

Stay warm & enjoy a wonderful weekend.
Kisses,

Wander With Whiskers – June 26-San Francisco
San Francisco – Day 2
^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^^~^~^~^~^
Part of the joy of San Francisco is simply being in the city & its close proximity to so much. Our Motor Coaches will drop us off at the Golden Gate Bridge where we will take the walking tour across the bridge & learn the history of the bridge. The Feline Motorcade will meet us on the other side for our return trip.

The Bridge connects San Francisco to California's northern counties. With its tremendous 746-foot tall towers, sweeping main cables, signature International Orange color, and Art Deco styling, it is a sensory experience featuring color, light, and sound. The bridge's vaulting orange arches amidst the rocky seascape of the San Francisco Bay is a breathtaking view! The kitties all stopped halfway across the bridge to take in the sights. The views of the Marin headlands are great & we can see Angel Island, Alcatraz, and the entire skyline of downtown SF.

Driving back across the bridge, next stop is Fisherman's Wharf. Fisherman's Wharf is arguably the most popular tourist attraction in San Francisco. It's located along the city's northeastern waterfront, facing Alcatraz Island & the bay. The Wharf consists of a long, coast side row of seafood restaurants, street vendors, souvenir stores, and beautiful ocean scenery. Fisherman's Wharf was originally a major fishing pier, and although the fishing industry is still alive today, the main focus of this specific coastal area is its historic tourist attractions.

Walking over to Pier 39, we can glimpse the sea lions. Did you know a male sea lion can grow up to 800 lbs?! Although they are loud (imagine a massive dog bark), and a little stinky, they are definitely a sight to see!

A food lover's haven, Fisherman's Wharf boasts some of the best dining in the world. Let’s have lunch at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., located at the end of PIER 39 with a breathtaking view of the Bay Bridge.

Before we head back to our hotel, our Feline Motor Coaches will drive us to the top of Lombard Street, where we can take pictures of this novel roadway. Lombard Street is best known for the one-way section on Russian Hill between Hyde & Leavenworth Streets, in which the roadway has eight sharp turns (or switchbacks) that have earned the street the distinction of being the crookedest (most winding) street in the world. Our Motor Coaches are much too big to drive along this crooked street, but it’s fun to see anyway.

Time to head back to our hotel. Tonight we will relax in our hotel & dine at one its award winning restaurants, the Bourbon Steakhouse. As the only hotel located on Union Square, we’ll find ourselves surrounded by world-class shopping, restaurants & theatres just outside our door. Our tour tomorrow will be of Union Square, a shop-a-holic’s delight!

Wander With Whiskers – June 25-San Francisco
San Francisco – Day 1
^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^^~^~^~^~^
After a good night’s sleep onboard the train, the breakfast bell chimes, signaling our journey is about to commence. With its soothing, almost therapeutic motion, we’ll travel for about an hour, while gazing out on our ocean-view train ride. Our next stop is San Francisco, where our Feline Motor Coaches will take us to our hotel in the city. More than just a hotel, The Westin St. Francis is a destination where we can unwind and be pampered by attentive, world-class service. The hotel is like a city in itself with shops and restaurants galore. The marble columns, ornate balconies and intricate woodwork transport guests back to the elegance of yesteryear. This legendary hotel is celebrated for its historic Magneta Grandfather Clock, known for the timeless refrain “Meet me under the clock!” The clock has served as the official gathering place for families, friends, lovers and international adventurers.

So let’s settle into our rooms, relax a bit and meet downstairs in the lobby to begin exploring “the City by the Bay.”

San Francisco is renowned for its cool summers, fog, steep rolling hills, eclectic mix of architecture, and landmarks including the Golden Gate Bridge, Cable Cars, Alcatraz, Fisherman’s Wharf and its Chinatown district.

Exiting our hotel onto Union Square, we find a cable car stop right outside our front door. Let’s hop on the cable cars for a ride to Fisherman’s Wharf and Alcatraz. The cable car ride starts with a steep climb up Nob Hill, and then passes through Chinatown and Russian Hill before plummeting down Hyde Street to Fisherman's Wharf. For a real thrill, lets stand on the cable car running boards during the ride and held on Doris Day style!

When we reach Fisherman's Wharf (which we’ll be visiting tomorrow), our Motor Coaches will pick us up and take us to the Alcatraz Tour. To tour "the Rock," the Bay Area's famous abandoned prison on its own island, you must first get there, and that's half the fun. The brief but beautiful ferry ride offers captivating views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Marin Headlands, and the city. The infamous and notorious former federal prison, Alcatraz was once home to the likes of Al Capone and Robert "The Birdman" Stroud. Once inside, we can take an excellent audio tour guide through cellblocks and witness a colorful look at the prison's historic past as well as its most infamous inmates. Hang on tightly to each other, as it is a rather spooky place to tour!

Afterwards we’ll stop for an Irish coffee and a light lunch at a cafe in the Ferry Building Marketplace. It’s time to board the Feline Motor Coaches and head back to our hotel. We’ll be walking across the Golden Gate Bridge tomorrow, so enjoy the hotel & get some rest furiends!

Wander With Whiskers – June 24-Santa Cruz
Next Stop-Santa Cruz
^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^^~^~^~^~^
We must make one more stop before San Francisco. Back onboard the Feline Castle Train, we’ll be leaving Monterey, traveling along the shore of the Pacific Ocean, passing agricultural areas famous for growing artichokes, pumpkins & strawberries, until we reach our next destination of Santa Cruz. Let’s enjoy our first-class breakfast service on the train as we watch the world pass by. There are many interesting sights along the way such as the famous surfing location “Mavericks”, a winter destination for some of the world's best big wave surfers. Upon arrival, our Feline Motor Coaches await us.

Santa Cruz is best known for its majestic redwood forests, beaches & the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, since 1907 a popular seaside amusement park. We’ll start with the beach & the Boardwalk. The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is a half-mile long amusement park with more than 30 other rides & attractions. It blends old-time nostalgia with modern thrills. You can buy a bag of salt-water taffy, get your fortune told in the old-style arcade, take a road rage-releasing ride on the bumper cars, or test your mettle on the Giant Dipper, a classic wooden roller coaster & National Historic Landmark, whose unforgettable dips rival any extreme adventure in new theme parks. Ready? Grip your sweetie’s sweaty paw as your car clickety-clacks up the hill, then throw your arms in the air & scream your lungs out as you fly down the other side, salt air stinging your eyes as you laugh & whoop! Afterward, share a puff of cotton candy as we ride the hand-carved merry-go-round that was built in 1911!

Let’s wander the wharf to the end of the pier & peek below at the harbor seals lounging around the decks. We can have lunch here at Gilberts on the Wharf. This scenic restaurant serves fresh fish specials everyday with a glorious view of the ocean.

A trip to Santa Cruz isn’t complete without seeing the giant redwoods. We are going to hop aboard the Santa Cruz Beach-Roaring Camp Steam Train. The open-air steam locomotive travels over trestles, through towering redwood groves & up a winding narrow-gauge grade to the summit of Bear Mountain as conductors narrate the history of Roaring Camp Railroad & the redwood forest. In the 1880s, narrow-gauge steam locomotives were used to haul giant redwood logs out of the mountains. Roaring Camp's steam engines date from 1890 & are among the oldest & most authentically preserved narrow-gauge steam engines providing regularly scheduled passenger service in America.

The 19th century steam train brings us right back to the Boardwalk. Last chance for souvenirs, as we get ready to continue our journey, with the next stop San Francisco!

Please vote Rosie #252822 for COTD on Monday, 5/20
Recently a cat loving family had their red female cat, Angel Rhuby cross over the Rainbow Bridge. The cat mom of this family decided she would like to adopt another red female and as luck would have it, there was Rosie at the Petsmart Adoption Center. Rosie #252822 and her new mom bonded instantly and Rosie came to her new home that day. Rosie was at the shelter for over two months and was a bit wild. She didn't like being kept in a cage and would fight with the shelter workers when they tried to put her back in her cage. This was a big reason why Rosie #252822 wasn't adopted sooner; she was scared and the people looking at her were not patient with her until her new mom came along. Now at her new home Rosie #252822 is a cuddle cat with her daddy and loves to play with her brother Yogi. She gets along with the rest of her furry siblings and is a happy cat. Rosie #252822 will not eat dry food but she will eat any kind of wet food. She doesn't like dry treats either! Rosie loves to play with her furry mouse and the laser light. Rosie #252822 is happily spoiled now in her new home and we are very happy she has found a wonderful loving home. Rosie would be so honored to have a COTD badge to display on her page. Please visit Rosie #252822 on Monday, 5/20, and leave a vote for her so she can proudly have her own shiny COTD badge.
While making the rounds of visits on the CC, please go visit our May catpaigner for COTM, Whiskers #227256, and give his votey button a good whack so he can add your vote to his collection to become our King of June.. Also, please visit our Queen of May, Queen Spunky #161265, and letting her know we are all thinking of her and her family

Finally making it around to what hopefully is catch-up day, so we can get back to regular correspondence. Grammy being her stubborn self took like what seemed forever to get her settled after her fall. Then Little Leo started not acting his normal self and Dad knew something was wrong. He made an emergency appointment on the 29th, and after an agonizing decision, my little buddy went to go see Angel Tig. They really didn't like each other so I hope the other Angels are helping them get along. Dad says he was glad it was raining as he walked home from the Dr. that way no one could see the tears pouring profusely down his face. Hurricane Sandy was bearing down good as he got home. The lights started to flicker so he quickly signed on here to post of Leo's passing. As he was reading some email....yep....there it went..........all basic services down for 4 days. I know how lucky we are to only be without when there are so many still without, but could never ever have imagined that we would have been hit so hard here near Cleveland. We we're very lucky to only have minor damage......lots of clean up.....he he....lucky Dad....Dad's church was flooded and had to be closed. We also found out that the shelter where Dad goes also got hit hard. Dad being Dad organized a church clean up crew. Got the shelter secure and then they made their way to church. How very lucky and grateful that one of the church voluteers has a son who works at a local tv station. After two days of running a story on the shelter on every newscast. Calls we're pouring in and adoptions made. All but nine of the cats found homes. They could not stay while the remodel was to begin so each of the volunteers to one of the kitties home to foster until the shelter can reopen.....Unfortunately the need is there and the shelter has to reopen....and I know you already guessed but I'll tell you anyway.....Dad brought one home. Her name is Robin. Sweet black and gray shorthair. Dad calls her Pumkinhead. The girls don't seem to like her much. Sahara and Savanah are downright mean to her. I think she's super. We play and cuddle together all the time. After all that drama Dad spent three days going to buy wood and paint and whatever else he needed to build a memorial wall. Grammy says it's a bookshelf...ha ha....But Since both of the Angels' ashes are home Dad had to put them somewhere he felt was appropriate. Have put pictures of my precious little buddy up on what is now called "Daddy's Angels" page. Will let you know when Robin's picture appears as well as Dad's memorial wall. Thanks for reading my extremely long letter. I know I was babbling, but had so much to say, 'cause it's been so long since I've seen you. Love and Whisker Kisses on this cold snowy day.

Hi Coco
I went shopping with mom yesterday. We went to a few stores. I love to be with mom. I don't mind riding in a car as long as I'm with mom.

We did hear about those fires by you. We are keeping everyone in our prayers.

Hi Coco
I like to rub against the cool thing we have that has my fur all over it. I can brush myself hehe. Mom leaves the shedder brush on the coffee table and I can brush my face. hehe

Hi Coco
I like to sleep on the bathroom floor. It's always cool there. I am having lots of mom time right now. I sure miss her when she is gone.

Hi Coco & gang,
We are sooo behind on CC that we may never get caught up. Lots of May birthdays here and then Daddy had one on May 30th. One June 1st Mom went on her cruise to the Bahamas and had a wonderful time, now she is resting up from vacation.

Glad those pills are all gone and hope you kitties are doing better. Mom too, Ear pain is a huge pain and it hurts so much.

Hi Coco
Thank you for pawing by to congratulate me on winning Cat Rescue of the Month for the 2nd time, the first time being in January 2011. What a wonderful surprise this was! I think I won this honor again because King Mike does not have the "I was rescued" box checked on his account page.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by & help me celebrate this special honor.

Have a meow-velous Monday.
Purrs to you,

Hi Coco
Today is ♣Lucky Penny Day♣ So. . .

    Find a penny.
    Pick it up.
    All day long,
    you'll have good luck♣

Are you superstitious? Superstition has it that you should only pick up a penny that is lying face up.

Today is also WORLD CROHN'S & COLITIS DAY. Our Mommy has Crohn’s Disease and she says it is certainly nothing to celebrate, although we are thankful for a day to raise awareness for this horrible disease.

Here’s our “two cents” for the day –
☀Happy May 23rd to one and all☀!

Hugs,
MerryBelle

Hi Coco
Here is our ✿Mother’s Day✿ wish for your Mom –

Enjoy your day by doing what we do. . .
Lie around a lot, take naps, and ignore people when they call your name. That should make your special day be purrfect!

Have a funtastic weekend.

Hi Coco
Hope you will be feeling all better soon. Your Mom is taking such good care of you. Good that the vets can get you your medicine locally, so you don't have to do all that riding. Hope those old tornadoes are gone for good.

Hi Coco & all,
How did your visit go at the vet? I hope all is well and we will be thinking of you.

We have been up to our ears in houseguests this month.
First it was grandam and mom's sister & hubby. This weekend it was Dad's two sisters from the Atlanta area, then next weekend Grandma and Mom's sis will return. We kittys don't much care for all these strange people in our space and are happy that things will be back to normal for this week anyway.

Hi Coco
Did you enjoy a nice Easter? We sure did. The Easter Bunny came to our house. He brought me a fuzzy green rat, a kick-a-roo bunny for Sissy, and a baby-blue light-up mousey for Casper Todd. You can see our mew toys in our profile pictures.

We thought you would enjoy the fact for March 19 from our Cat Fancy desk calendar:

✭Cats have short-term & long-term memories. In fact, cats remember where they left their toys many months later. They also remember the treatment they receive from their human caretakers. ✭

Have a meow-velous Monday!
Hugs,
MerryBelle

Hi Coco & All.
Mom is gonna get one of those shirts when all the commotion dies down. Congrats on getting yours.

Yes, We do still have Mr. Purrkins and Ringo Star. Mom was doing lots of interviews and placed one of the kittens before her dad got ill, she left in July to help take care of him and did not come back till mid Oct. She had no internet there so she could not answer any inquiries on them. When she got home they were 7 months old and big. Daddy said that they were big boys now and loved to be together, and that we were keeping them. So they are still with us. Mom was happy to hear that he was gonna let them stay. Mr. Purrkins turned 1 year old on March 14th and weighs 12 pounds now. He is a big old baby who stands on his hind legs and begs to be carried around like a baby. he loves his feather toy, just like Cyndee does. He fetches it like a dog when Mom throws it and brings it and drops it at her feet so she will play. He is a wonderful and very intelligent addition to our family. Ringo is not as smart and does not fetch but is lovable and sweet till Mom brushes him, then he growls like a dog but never offers to bite. He is fascinated by running water in the sink and athtub and after getting wet many times by the running water, he has now learned how to drink from the faucet like a pro. He still gets all wet because he loves to splash around in the water.
Imagine that....

Hello Coco
How was your weekend? Our weather was purrrfect - nice, sunny & not too hot. I am feeling lots better from that nasty UTI. I still have 5 more days to take that yucky Clavamox. Yesterday our shelter BARL (Brookhaven Animal Rescue League) had a rummage sale. They raised over $2000 to help care for the homeless kitties & doggies at the shelter. Mommy volunteered at the sale. She painted kids’ faces to look like a kitty.

See, I just knew everyone wanted to be like us!!!!!!!!!

Have a lovely day. Cute shirts.
