Hi Q Angel Gracie,All
How are you today.A gloomy dreary day here,rained this morning,then stopped but still gloomy out there,more rain on the way.Got to go out to explore,grass was wet but I went right on.Checked out mousey bushes,went in the tall grass,nothing there,not even a bug,ate grass,same some of those worms climbing up the fench post,ole worms.Did not see the groundhogs,they must have been behind the building playing,you can hear them in the grass out there. Walked more,then mom sat down to rest and let me explore a little more,she lets my lead out long enough for me to look around.Then I watchd Spotty,Oreo,and outside kittys wander around,they sure do not come close to me,wonder why,hehe!Then the wind started blowing the rain drops out of the trees and was hitting me on the head,mom said time to go,I puled her in this time,did not want my fur all wet,those rain drops hurt my little head,hehe!Came in washed off my paws,made rounds through the house,toys,all ok,ate my food,then went sat on my toy rug to look out the door,carried mr.innertube for a few minutes.Mom said Spongie wnat to go down in yor apartment,nope to dark down there and the ole basement,furnace monster is there,so I went to rest with mom,ate my treats on the bed and snuggled up to mom to nap a little while,Wicket was on the other end eating his treats.Its gotten really dark out,looks like we might get a storm,sure hope not,ole thunder scares us all,so now I'm napping on the cat tree.Wicket is napping beside mom,Baby on the other side napping,Missy on her pad,Cindell on the counter so everyone is napping now,pawhugs,Spongie,Gang,Angels.

The Naked Bike Ride is NEXT month!! Oh, crap, I see you've been talking to Steve, too. And there's Mallow with her moon shorts, too. Oh boy, the good folks of Fruita Colorado are not going to be one bit impressed with this, they already told us we're really pushing the "No Pets at the Headless Chicken Festival" rule. Purrsonally, I think they're just jealous that O.J. set a new record when he won the wing eating contest. Dolly sweetheart, I think we'd better start packing up so we can catch up to Q. Cherish in Oahu before things start to get nasty around here.

Yep, hockey was pretty good last night. I won, Dolly won and Mallow Whip won. Cheers! (Mike raises a glass of iced tea)

Hi Angel Queen Gracie!
We are so glad to hear your Mom's pre-op check up went well. We were getting a little worried last night when we didn't see you guys at the hockey game. We brought you some to-go-boxes from last night's games. It was Surf & Turf night, so we packed lots of Shrimp, Crab, Lobster Tail and Steak for all of you. Also some Banana Oreo Cheesecake, my personal favorite!

This morning my Mom was with the outside kitties for over an hour. I was getting pretty tired of waiting! Mom sat on the floor again, to get to eye level with the outside cats, and Whitey really liked this. Whitey kept rubbing her face all over Mom & purring. Mom’s clothes were covered in fur! Callie and I were quick to check it out , sniffing to see whom she had been with. MOL!
Orangie was reluctant at first, but then would sneak behind Mom, sniff her and then go running away. Mom didn’t move and Orangie kept coming back like it was a game. Sniff and Run! Afterwards the kitties ate, not really noticing any scents from Callie and me. (I really think I need to spray that cat carrier. MOL!) Mom says this was a good morning. :)

Purrs and hugs. Thanks for the tip on the book called "The Fur Person." It sounds like something my Mom would like to read. The strawberry shortcake moonpies and strawberry smoothies hit the spot this morning! Thanks sweet angel. Give your Mom and the kitties a hug for us.

Heaven Is...

A man was riding his horse down a road, cat in his arms & his dog by their side. The man was enjoying the scenery, when it suddenly occurred to him that he was dead. He remembered dying, & that his horse, cat & dog had been dead for years. He wondered where the road was leading them. After a while, they came to a high, white stonewall along one side of the road. It looked like fine marble. At the top of a long hill, was a tall arch that glowed in the sunlight. Standing before it, he saw a magnificent gate in the arch, made from mother of pearl, & the street that led to the gate looked like pure gold. He nudged the horse toward the gate, & as he got closer, he saw a man at a desk. Once close enough, he called out, "Excuse me, where are we?"

"This is heaven, sir," the man answered.
"Wow! Would you happen to have some water?" the man asked.
"Of course, sir. Come right in, & I'll have some ice water brought right up."

The man gestured, & the gate began to open. "Can my furiends," gesturing downward towards his horse, cat & dog, "come in, too?" the traveler asked. "I'm sorry, sir, but we don't accept animals."

The man thought a moment & then turned his horse & dog back toward the road, cat in his arms & continued the way he had been going. At the top of another long hill, he came to a dirt road which led through a farm gate that looked as if it had never been closed. As he approached the gate, he saw a man inside, leaning against a tree & reading a book. "Excuse me!" he called to the reader. "Do you have any water?"

"Sure, there's a pump over there" The man pointed to a place that couldn't be seen from outside the gate. "Come on in."
"How about my furiends here?" the traveler asked.
"There should be a bowl & a bucket by the pump."

They went through the gate, & sure enough, there was an old hand pump with a bowl & a bucket beside it. The traveler filled the bowl & took a long drink himself, then gave some to his cat & dog while he filled the bucket for his horse. When they all were satisfied, he led his furiends back toward the man who was standing by the tree waiting for them.
"What do you call this place?" the traveler asked.
"This is heaven," was the answer.
"Well, that's confusing," the traveler said. "The man down the road said that was heaven, too."
"Oh, you mean the place with the gold street & pearly gates? Nope. That's hell."
"Doesn't it make you mad for them to use your name like that?"

"No. I can see how you might think so, but we're just happy that they screen out the folks who’d leave their best furiends behind."

Morning!
Lets see if I (and Gma) can do this right today and NOT delete everything I worked SO very hard to type. Gosh...so much to do today! We have to practice our headless chicken line dancing,and its neighbor day(I really hope I get a good gift) and learn to swim day(got that covered) and no dirty dishes day-hello-paper plates! We might have to have a block pawty! Wait,we're on a beach...where are the blocks...Need to practice for the chicken wing eating contest too. I tell you,crunching them bones sure does slow you down a bit! Swallowing them whole doesn't do too much for the belly either.

Lily is here with some mouseburger sliders and pomegranate tunatinis, are we having a pawty yet? Missed ya at the rink, girlfurriend! The family went out late to Applebees for 1/2 price appetizers. It was super yummy. Mom had a busy day and is so happy to be home. She and sis went shopping then to PetSmart and brought home a bunch of puppy toys. What's with that? We don't have a puppy.

I saw the news about the train accident of the NY commuter train and I hope and pray Max's mom wasn't anywhere near there.

Let's grab our snuggies and head down to the beach and enjoy the bonfire! Oh boy!

Oh, but Angel Gracie!
We can't go and name the Flower Moon pawty after me and make me the Queen of the whole thing! What about Lily? She's a flower too! Lilies and Mallows both on the tables, how about that?

Well, I sure did not know about Mallow flowers before! I was really surprised. Especially since they're almost just like those wild roses I gave Q. Cherish for the Castle garden back when she was Queen. I wish I'd known about Mallows back then! And now that I do know, I have found something really cool for O.J. next time I see him. He's in training right now for the wing eatin' contest at the Mike the Headless Chicken Festival. He swears he's gonna beat Mikey & Steve. Good thing Eating Sammy didn't come along, that's all I have to say!

Now I don't suppose I have to tell you you can google the thing and see pictures of Mike the chicken and all the boring science of it, too. Strange things happen in this world!

Oh, gee, I see the Hawaiian cruise is picking up again, too. SO much going on around here! Good thing they have shops on the cruise ship, cause all I brought was ... uh ... a whole RV full of stuff. -- Mallow

Lining the northeast coast are the towering cliffs of the North Shore Pali. At 3,600 to 3,900 feet from sea base to top, they are the tallest sea cliffs in the world; their near-vertical plunge ends 2000 feet below sea level. We step cautiously to the edge to peek over. Whoa, that’s a drop! Later in the day, we do some ocean kayaking along the face of the cliffs; this is amazing beyond belief! We also discover secret, secluded beaches, sea birds, & cascading waterfalls which provide incredible, photogenic scenery

We then hike into the East End’s classic cathedral valley to see Hawaii back in time. It is believed ancient Polynesians settled in lush Halawa Valley as early as 650 AD. This area, half a mile wide and three to four miles deep, and blessed with beautiful vistas and towering waterfalls, is one of the island's most historic areas. Roughly two miles up the trail is the impressive, double-tiered 250-foot Moa’ula Falls. If you’re considering taking a dip into the pool, drop a ti leaf into the water first. Hawaiian legend says that a giant moo (lizard) lives at the bottom of the pool. If the ti leaf sinks, the moo is in no mood for visitors. If the ti leaf floats, it’s safe to enter. Our ti leaves are forming a veritable flotilla, and we slip gratefully into the refreshing pool. Soon we are splashing and playing like … well, kitties.

We have been invited to a luau by the residents of a small village near Maunaloa, birthplace of the hulu. After dining on succulent roast pig, and all the tasty side dishes, we are given grass skirts to put on for a hula lesson. Soon we are dancing and telling the stories of the island, looking almost like natives.

Tomorrow we will head for the island of Oahu, where our Hawaiian adventure will eventually finish.

How are you all.Been a cooler day for us,mr.sun was in,out,rain on the way for tonight.Got to go out to explore,checked out all my usual places,nothing much going on out but those worms crawling all over,when I see one of those worms crawling toward me,I run the other way!Went under all mousey bushes,in the tall grass,I just love doing that,never know what might be hiding in there I can pounce on,ate grass,then we saw the groundhogs out,they saw us and off they went,they sure are growing fast.Saw lots of birds,almost wacked another bee,but mom stopped me,ole bee was buzzing all around my head.Then we went to sit fo a few minutes so mom could rest,she is having lots of pain today,but her tummy is feeling a little better for her,yaaa,she said, so I just sat and looked all around while mom rested,played stick with mom,she gets a small tree branch with leaves on it and drags it back,forth on the ground,I love chasing it,thats fun,got tired of that and lay down and watched a robin getting worms out of the grass,I said hi birdie are you going to sing me a song,ole birdie flew off,hehe!Then mom got up,I know when she stands up its time to go in,I went right in today.Made my rounds through the house,all ok,made sure my toys,mr.innertube were laying on my paper bag,Wicket got on the bag last night and moved all my toys,he got a wack for that!Went to rest with mom after eating my treats on the bed,I heard mom muttering last night about all the treats she lay down on in the bed,then she got up and stepped on some in the floor and crunched them all over,hehe,well gotta have those treats.Now I'm laying on my toy rug lookng out the door,Baby,Wicket looking out the window,Missy,Cindell napping,so pretty quiet right now.Mom said thanks for th

Oh, Angel Gracie,
I have something even better than the pink limo in mind for the 30th. You'll see! And I was thinking of having a great big rip-snortin' paintball war for my birthday, and I was thinking of Pinto Island as the place to do it.

Now, something else I am really excited about. I learned something about my name yesterday. Wouldja believe a "Mallow" is a kind of flower? And even better still, it's not just any flower, it's a wild Swamp Rose! Can you think of anything better for me to be than a wild Swamp Rose??

Hibiscus and Rose of Sharon are both flowers in the Mallow family, too. Oh, you KNOW what kind of flowers I am bringing for the Flower Moon pawty!! I am gettin' one of those fancy Swarovski crystal decals for my Harley, too. Maybe even a tattoo!

But first, the Headless Chicken Festival! -- Mallow

PS: That robin I brought Mom yesterday was most definitely toes up. And half gone. I kinda taste-tested him before leaving him.

what Mallow's come up with now. She says it’s Mike the Headless Chicken Day!

Yes, you heard me right! She wants us all to head off to Fruita, Colorado for the Mike the Headless Chicken Festival

This is absolutely for real! The story starts on September 10, 1945 when Fruita, Colorado, farmer Lloyd Olsen chose a chicken for his evening meal. Mr. Olsen cut off the bird’s head, but Mike just shook it off and continued trying to peck for food. He lived for 18 months and went on a national tour as “The Headless Wonder Chicken”. I know we can all relate to Mike’s example that you can live a normal life, even after you have lost your mind.

Can this event possibly be missed? There’s a 5k Run, Bike Poker Ride, Disc Golf Tournament, and eating contests, along with live music and food. Oh, I just KNOW she's going to buy a Mike the Headless Chicken T-Shirt and wear it, just to bug me! -- Mike

oh, Gracie, *sniff,sniff* i used half a box of kleenex, listening to the stories of all your furamily. your mom is such a good person to help all those kitties and love them and give them a furever home. *sniff* it's wonderful that you all get along and play together. poor Johnny, you're right Gracie, that neighbor was a jerk!! thank goodness that your mom got Johnny the help he needed and now he can feel safe and loved and not have to worry any more. sometimes mom misses having a "herd" like our rainbow bridge buddies she told you about last blog, but she says for now, us 5 kitties are enough, especially with me. mom says i wake up in the morning Zooming all over the house looking for what trouble i can get into(and usually find it ;) and apparently nobody ever told me that cats are supposed to sleep for hours and hours because i am one active kitty! i make mom laugh all the time with my antics :) hope you and your fursibs have a meowvelous weekend. leaving you sunshine and smiles

Hi Angel Queen Gracie!
We will have our paws crossed for your Mom's doctor appointment to go well. My Mom just had another dentist check-up yesterday. The dentist wants to keep an eye on the tooth she hurt when she fell and split her lip awhile ago.

Your fursibs sure did have funny taste buds. My Mom never gives us any of that good stuff like fritos and chips because she always has to watch Callie's diet like a hawk, since Callie has bladder and urinary problems. No fun in this house! MOL!

My Mom has been having problems with her modem again this morning. She is trying to keep it going so she doesn't have to install the new modem she bought just yet. If she does have to, we might be down for a day! YIKES! Not now Mom!

My sister Callie and I got to play in the garage inside Whitey & Orangie’s cat carrier yesterday. We even ate out of their dry cat food dish! I tried to bring one of their catnip mice toys back inside with me, but Mom caught me and put it back. Aw, gee Mom! So this morning when Mom fed them, Whitey starting sniffing around, Orangie too. Then Mom said they both started rubbing their faces all over everything. We think this is a good sign. Afterwards, they both ate as usual and Whitey sat by Mom’s feet, taking her after-meal bath. Our dear furiend, Angel Q. Miss Millie had a good idea. She suggested Mom sit on the ground to be more at eye level with them. Whitey seemed to like this, but Orangie wasn’t too sure, so he kept his distance. Mom is going to keep doing this, hoping Orangie will eventually come around.

Purrs and hugs. My Mom will call your Mom on Sunday to see how her pre-op physical went. Give her and the kitties hugs for us.

A Word With Whiskers – May 17

I’ll never be sure if it was wisdom or folly that struck that day, but I would think a little of both. We had been happily living with one cat for a couple of years, a fairly large black-&-white English Shorthair named Smedley. It was time for his annual exam & shots, so off we went to our local veterinarian’s office, puss in hand, or actually wrapped like up like an Egyptian mummy to save us from his dreaded claws.

“Ah!” Doc Pete said, with a twinkle in his eyes. “I’m glad you dropped in. I have a kitten out back that needs a home & I thought of you!”

Before I could stop him, his assistant brought out the tiniest marmalade tabby, weighing just over a pound, with a cast on his left front leg. He put him in my arms, looked up at me & said, “So what do you think?”

They say a sucker is born every minute & that was my minute. We took one look at the poor little thing & then at each other & we were done for. We found out that someone had broken his leg & tried to drown him in the nearest canal. A Good Samaritan had rescued him & brought him to the vet’s office.

“How will they get along?” I asked. “How do we go about introducing them to each other?”
“Oh, that’s no problem,” he said. “You just put him in a carrier, take him home, leave the carrier open & let Smedley think he is rescuing the kitten.”

Well, it sounded good. As per instruction, once we got home, we left the kitten in the carrier in the middle of the room. Then we sat back to watch. Smedley circled the box & growled deeper than I had ever heard him before. The kitten mewed plaintively while sticking a paw out of the holes in the side of the carrier. After about an hour, we decided to open the top of the carrier a little wider. Smedley walked up to the top, looked inside & was rewarded by a lightning strike from a small orange paw.

That was the last we saw of him that evening. I was convinced that the next morning would find us back at the vet’s office returning the little tyke. However, the next morning, we were in for a surprise. As I got up to put on the coffee, I saw the two of them curled up together on the sofa as if they were one cat with two smiling faces. From then on, Smedley watched over the little one as if he had given birth to him, and they went everywhere together.

Doc Pete was right!

from what we heard
your food was the hit of the games the other day and we're here to personally thank you for helping us out and are asking you to keep it up the rest of this summer into the early fall months that is when your mommy is home to blog for you. janet will be away from june 23-26 then home for two days and out again this time for a bus day trip on the 29th and back to work on the 30th. she's sick with the sinus-allergy flu bug thanks to natty bringing the germ home a few weeks back. janet got it back on wednesday and worked with it yesterday...will be again next 3, sees her nurse practioner for 2 wart freezings on tuesday.... that's our next sports day too just an advance warning. sandy,ana,haley,angels

Furry God-Mother
I just wanted to run by and say hi to you and Zippy and all the fursibs. I've missed you soooooo much. Mom has been awfully busy since we got back restocking and replacing the house of everything. We have done very well in making headway, but there are still lots of odds and ends like a toaster, broiler oven, popcorn maker, canisters, etc. There wasn't even any toiler paper the night we returned on the 4th of this month and my pawrents had to use paper towels. Ouch. Oh, and mom still needs a dresser and a printer. Inbetween errands for this stuff, BabyBoo (my Maltese sister had to go to the vet to have her liver values checked, moms nails were a disaster, BabyBoo's thank yous on DC for her 4th DC anniversary and our 5th CC anniversary is coming up soon. Whew.

I'm not too happy about this dern CC moms meetup. I think that we should be able to meetup, too. It's not fair. Right? Let's rebel.
And to top it off, BabyBoo gets to go to a CAT meetup. Hiss spit. She always gets to go with mom everywhere; even to grocery stores, restaurants, movies; you name it....she goes. Boo hiss.

I just loved the chocolate chip moonpies, do you think you have any more of those? And that Chocolate Yahoo drink is super yummy! Thanks so much! Mom mowed the yard tonight and got a little tired, so she relaxed later and just watched the game.

Sis worked tonight and learned to work the cash register. She is having quite an experience meeting and greeting people and talking to them about their pets. Mom thinks sis has found a purrfect job for her!

I'm bringing some kitty coladas..... oh better bring some bubbly, too. Mom made some happy noises at the end of the game.

♥ WOW!!!! What a MONTH of Adoptiversaries for our family, but luckily, That's All Folks!!!! Tehehehe!!!!

♥ I have been making sure I get lots of mom time everyday. I just love my mom so much!!!! I have been also sleeping by her feet the last week or so at bedtime which makes her real happy!!!!

♥ Mom went to PetSmart this morning to buy [2] 16 lb bags of Friskies Indoor; [3] 16 lb bags of Friskies Surfin Turfin; [1] 7 lb bag of Purina One Hairball; [1] 7 lb bag of Purina One Vibrant & Maturity & [1] 40 lb box of ExQuisiCat Litter. She got [2] FREE toys, too!!!!

♥ Well, mom is upset as my Feline Acne is coming back. She washes my face every morning after I eat my Fancy Feast can food and washes my food dishes alsmost every night before bed time.

♥ UPDATE: SASSEE 10605 seems to be doing better finally with not seemingly in so much pain like she had been due to her arthritis. Mom said the Dasuquin must be finally taking affect.

♥ UPDATE: SYLVESTER 11567 is no longer limping the last couple days. He will, however, will need to see Dr. Liz in a couple months for bloodwork to see how he is doing since his diagnosis of Early Kidney Failure in February.

♥ Mom and dad are set up for another yard sale starting Friday morning and ends on Saturday evening at 5:00pm so we may not get to visit everyone, but we will try!!!! Mom also changed my profile photo today.

How are you today.Has been cloudy today and a little cooler here,so I got to explore more since the hot sun was not out.Missy did not want to go out,she stayed in to nap.Checked out my mousey bushes,the tall grass,I love sticking my head in that grass and looking around,saw a bug and tried to dig it out but it got away,then I ate some grass,and mom said watch out,here comes a groundhog,it was running fast around the buiding getting to its hole,we must have scared them,they sure can run fast!I shook my paw at him and keep on eating grass,they better not get in my grass hehe!Saw one of the outside kittys sleeping in the grass,I wanted to go say hi but mom said I don't think she wants a wack on the head Spongie.On we went,you cannot even walk through the grass for all those ugly worms all over,sure be glad when they are gone,ole ugly worms.Then we had to sit down for awhile mom got tired,I lay in the grass and looked around,Oreo lay far away from me today,hehe,Then I lay beside mom and played with a stick,then one of those ole worms was crawling right at me,I sure got up fast.Then mom said time to go in,I did not want to go so I lay down and when mom tried to get me up I slipped out of part of my harness,mom said Spongie now look what you did,you little stinker,she finaly got it back on me,I was hissing,growling really loud at mom,she said you better stop that before I wack your little furry behind for you,ole harness,ole cane looked at me and I got up and came in.Ate my food,then went and got in the open window and pouted awhile.Mom went to rest and I got mr.innertube and went to lay with her,she said well I see you are not pouting at me anymore,I gave her a big ole kitty kiss on her head,she gave me a big ole hug,then I ate my treats,napped beside mom for awhile.Moms ole tummy is still not all better yet,still on jello,soup,I said mom have some of my treats,that will help,hehe!Now I'm sitting in the window in the fresh air eating more treats,gotta have my treats so I can stay big strong to go out exploring!Wicket,Cindell,Missy naping,Baby looking out the window at a pretty red bird sitting in a bush,pawhugs,Spongie,Gang,Angels.

You do remember what THAT commercial was for, don't you? Okay (gulp!), chocolate chip moonpies with (shudder) mustard on 'em. I just left half a robin for Mom outside the front door, I guess if I expect her to try new stuff I should, too. You'd just better get that Alka-Seltzer ready, I think I might need it.

The only one of us whose birthday we know for absolute sure is Mike. Evie & I are just estimates. My adoptiversary is May 30th and they said I was about a year old, so we're using that date for both. I have a thing or two up my sleeve for that day, just like I always do.

It was great seeing YOU at hockey these last few times, even if we weren't able to visit too much last night.

Now you really are turning to mush, you were right, Malachi & Ana's wedding IS in June, I was getting ahead of ourselves and talking about June because of the Moonpie & RC Cola Festival. I don't know who's officiating at that one, all I know is it is not me. Not in the middle of the night.

Let's see, upcoming nuptials that I know about: There's Benjamin & Katy on July 4th (he's from Joey's family and she's NOT Katie Brown, remember?), Snuggles & Manchester I'm not sure when, Kali & Elvis in August, Pushkin & Cassandra I'm not sure when, Casey & Becky I'm not sure when. And you never know who else might announce any day now, it's that time of year.

Hey, thanks for the Hawaiian Spamburgers w/pineapple, the chocolate chip moonpies and of course, the midnight moon apple pie moonshine! What great treats! The Hockey games were pretty intense last night! It was great to see you and your family there.

The saga of our outside kitties continues… My Mom lifted the top half of the cat carrier onto several old newspaper crates and set it beside the bottom half of the carrier. Whitey & Orangie were curious this morning when they saw it, but not afraid. They both sniffed around it and then went back to the business of eating. Mom plans to slowly slide the top half of the carrier onto the bottom half. This was a great idea from our dear furiend Mischief!

P.S. You know, the outside kitties didn't seem to react to our scent on the carrier. I think they were too busy wondering what the top half of the carrier was doing raised up on boxes. My Mom is going to let my sis and I check it out again today. I don't think I'll be able to sneak a quick spray, because Mom will be watching! MOL!

I left a vote sweet angel with purrs and hugs. We hope your Mom and the kitties are doing fine. Give them all a big hug for us!

Cats are blessed with a keen sense of smell. So while humans can smell broiled lobster, a cat can smell something like “broiled Maine lobster shipped in brine.” Despite their incredible sensitivity to smell, cats aren’t too concerned about taste. Of all their senses, taste is probably the least important to cats. Humans seek culinary perfection, but cats are mainly interested in whether the stuff they’re about to eat is nutritious or dangerous.

Cats tend to be more picky than dogs. One reason for this is that they’re carnivores, and spoiled meat is best left behind for scavengers. Another reason is that they’re, well, cats, and cats are generally more particular about life than dogs. Because they care more about what they put into their mouths, it’s tougher to slip them day-old food or extras like medicine.

Cats do seem to have one blind spot when it comes to taste: They have a very limited ability to identify sweets. While most animals prefer food with sucrose in it, cats don’t seem to notice it. In fact, researchers found that cats could not tell the difference between sugar water and plain water, even when the sugar level was so high that it was potentially dangerous.

Although flavor isn’t the most important thing to cats, food certainly is. It gives them a sense of comfort and well-being even as it satisfies their appetites. And it can be a powerful tool for communication as well. If you give a pet food he really likes, you’ll get his attention in a hurry.

Cats are creatures of habit, which means they’re most comfortable when they’re in familiar surroundings, with familiar people and familiar tastes. Just because people want to try different foods all the time doesn’t mean cats do too.

It’s fine to change foods periodically. Cats may get bored with the same food after a few months and will crave a new flavor. Let them have it. But make the change slowly by mixing some of the new food in with the old food for a few days. This will prevent diarrhea or other digestive problems that may occur when pets suddenly start eating something new.

THE ABILITY TO TASTE: The reason dogs and cats snack out of the trash can with the same gusto that they have for cleaning out their food bowls is that the food we throw out often has appealing flavor & aromas. There’s a significant difference in the number of tastebuds between pets & people. Here’s the comparison:

well,the carnations were red&white variegated,purple&white variegated,and yellow&red variegated. mom loves all colors so it wouldn't have mattered :)

holy moly you have a lot of kitties!!! how did your mom get them all? were they all rescues? how wonderful that your mom takes care of outside kitties too! right now we just have five kitties.

a while back we had 3 dogs,3 cats,2cockatiels,2canaries,a tortoise and mom was fostering 2 cats and 1 dog!!! but that's the most we've ever had at one time. can't imagine 17 inside and 8 outside! must keep your mom hopping,MOL,but just think of all the kitty hugs and kitty kisses your mom gets everyday :)

Oh my gosh, thank you for all these goodies for my birthday. I'm so happy you're sharing my 4th birthday with me. Mom is doing much better now, her allergies raised all heck this last week. She wasn't even able to put her contacts in to see. I did my comforting of total lap therapy, my specialty.

OOOOhh...I JUST LOVE the feather extensions, I was feeling like a showgirl when we were doing those chicken dances. Where in the world did you find the purple glittery feathers? So pretty! Chicken Beak Beer? I have a feeling that would be good! Let's brrew some. Brother drinks one called....well dang if I can't say it on CC but I think mom has told you the story before. Mom is going to email Mallow's mom the story. Mom got it as a present for middle brother's 21st birthday and brought it home and his g/f was there and it turns out that was her dad's favorite beer so it was very special.

Anyway, gotta scoot over to Dean and Anderson's hut to watch the 3rd period of the game. The 2d period is ending tied up. So the 3rd should be interesting.
