Hi there WooHoo Nappers how are you doing today? I was doing pretty good until I did something silly and I'm limping again so back in my crate I went, bummer. I've been in that thing for over 12 weeks is getting old so my mommy started letting me out. Little by little I was getting back to normal if normal is sitting up and wanting to walj on two feet not four. I'm seven months old and liook like im 4 or 5 month old and don't know I'm a cat yet. Still learning balance and how to land on all fours. Keeps my mommy on her toes. Your moon pie party sounds fun. I love parties. Hope you have a super great week. Mom went to a family dinner yesterday,it was a beautiful day for it,and posted a nice pic of her mom Jessie,daughter Holly,herself and g'daughter Ava in my gallery! Hi Woo Hoo Nappers its very nice to meet you. Boy I love all you pictures. My mommy is just learning all this blog stuff so everthing is new.She says were not so computer smart but we need to try hard when we learn something new. Yes we are a kitty family there are no two legged children that I know of. There are to other kittys one is named Fatty ( maine coone mix) which I dont get cause shes small and the other one looks just like me. I want to be her very very best friend but I dont think she likes me to much yet. My mommy says even though she is the middle cat she thinks shes the ruler of the universe. ( alpha kitty of the house) I dont care I love her anyway and I curl up with her and when she hisses at me I just smile at her and tell her I love her. My mommy says shes just sad and afraid see she lost her parents her mommy left her at 2 and her papa died when she was 6 and he pass away at home and she was there with him for 2 days alone and scared. So my mommy says just to be patient with her its not like she mean to me just hisses. So right now im still doing crate time for another week and a half feels like forever. You all are so kind to ask about how im doing thank you soooooo much. There are such nice cats and people in the world makes me happt. We were very sad to hear about your previous kitty no longet being here makes us both very sad. Cats hold such a special place in our hearts. Today, we remember Jim Croce
Jim Croce (1/10/43 – 9/20/73)wrote the "Time in a Bottle" after his wife Ingrid told him she was pregnant with his son. He had finished recording the album just over a week before his death. The plane crashed about an hour after the end of the concert.
The posthumous release included hit: "I'll Have to Say I Love You in a Song". He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1990.

The song's lyrics, dealing with immortality and the wish to have more time, came across as if he had had a premonition of his untimely death. Imagine having the power to pause or manage time.

A bouquet of flowers brightens the day!!

Supplies:
4 White Carnations
2 Plastic Black Shank Buttons - if you can find an oval shape even better
1 Plastic Yellow Shank Button
1 Sheet of White Craft Foam
Black Card Stock
Fabric Glue
Straight Pins
Tape
Green Floral Tape
Floral Wire
Red Ribbon

Place button wires into the flowers to create the face (make sure they're secure). You might need to trim the wire a little so your buttons sit flat on top of the flowers. I also recommend looking at a Hello Kitty image to get the nose and eye spacing correct.

Tie a traditional red bow and trim off tales. Attach a floral wire to bow. Cut two rounded triangles from the white foam for ears. You'll want the ears to be slightly bigger opposed to proportionate. Glue one of the ears on the back of the bow. Tape the other ear to the floral wire. The wire should be 6" in length.

Situate ears at the top of the bouquet. You will need to bend the ears back about 90 degrees. The flowers should cover part of the foam ears (this is why we made them larger). With floral tape, wrap wire and stems to secure in place.

Last are the whiskers. Cut 6 thin strips of black card stock measuring 2" in length. Pin three strips to each side of the face inside the flowers using straight pins. You now have a Hello Kitty Bouquet. For more color surround it with other flowers or wrap it in cellophane and tissue paper.

Mitchell's Gone with the Wind
Margaret Mitchell had a huge stack of paper that was gathering dust in her closet in Atlanta, Georgia. Harold Latham, an editor visiting from New York, caught wind of the epic novel, but Mitchell refused to give him the manuscript. It wasn’t ready (and might never be).
The same week, an up-and-coming writer found out about the novel and exclaimed to Mitchell: “Really I wouldn’t take you for the type who would write a successful book. You know you don’t take life seriously enough to be a novelist.” Her dander up, Mitchell handed her unfinished manuscript to Latham. He had to buy an extra suitcase to carry it home, but it was worth the money. It wasn’t long before he made an offer for Gone with the Wind.

Cat "arrested" for break-in Brazilian prison
There are paw-prints all over the scene of the "crime" for its part in an apparent jail break attempt. This feline's life of crime is now over.

The incident took place at New Year. A smuggling cat has been detained in the grounds of a jail in Brazil with contraband goods for prisoners strapped to its body with tape. They found a mobile phone, charger, headphones and tools. Officials said the items could be used to effect a means of escape or for communicating with criminals on the outside.

The white cat was apprehended crossing the main prison gate. The incident took place at a jail in Arapiraca city, 250km (155 miles) south-west of Recife in Alagoas state.

The cat had apparently been trained to assist in high-profile prison breaks, and had been seen coming in and out of the jail multiple times prior to its arrest.
The jail holds some 263 prisoners.

There are no leads in the case. All of the prisoners are suspects in the case, but it’ll be hard to get any forward-momentum in the investigation. A prison spokesperson stated: "It's tough to find out who's responsible for the action as the cat doesn't speak."

Thought I would start the New Year off with some 'little know' facts about the Peach State Cats! I hope you enjoy and I will start with myself...OH,Samson said to give you this red rose and note...however,I lost the note,so will have him call you later,ok?

BART~nicknamed Booger Boy-REASON: I got sick and nearly died shortly after mom adopted me. My little eyes stayed crusted shut with what mom called 'eye boogers',and she would bathe them open every morning while talking softly to me,calling me her Booger Boy....the name stuck,just like the eye crud!

SMUDGE~Will meow his fool head off for mom and dad to pet him,then keep j-u-s-t out of reach so they can't,leading then around the yard!

GROWLIE~Won't let anyone but mom pet him!

SAMSON~ADORES being petted! He had rather mom pet him than eat,and will even 'grab' moms hand if she pulls it away!

CHARLIE~ His shelter name was ARMANI,but even though it suited his good-looking tux,mom changed it because dad would never have remembered it!

DIXON~Has a very high-pitched meow! No one takes him serious when he tries to be aggressive! I mean,there he is,in his 'aggressive Tom' stance...back bowed,head down,legs stiff......then out comes this sound like air slowly released out of a balloon!!MOL! Dixon could make another kitty laugh to death!

It's a wonderful life
Philip Van Doren Stern (1900-1984) began a short story, The Greatest Gift", in 1939. He was inspired by a dream, and reminiscent of the 1843 Charles Dickens' Christmas Carol. Stern shared 200 printed copies in 1943 with friends as a year-end cards after numerous publisher rejections.
Luckily, the pamphlet came to the attention of a RKO movie producer who purchased the rights. Frank Capra's production company saw the movie potential. He paid $10,000 for the rights in 1945. Stern's story was adapted into the most loved and memorable American family film, "It's a Wonderful Life" in 1946. Director Capra's inventiveness, humor and affection for human beings keep it glowing with life and excitement.
On Xmas eve, George Bailey's guardian angel shows him all the lives he touched and how different life in his community would be had he never been born. Although George repeatedly sacrifices his dream to travel the world, he realizes "No man is a failure who has friends."

From the cloud of the NICE Angels…Beautiful Nala #144744 was the first cat to ever grace the home of the ARL Alumni but it would never have happened without the begging of young son Erik & the presence of a cat at his babysitter’s house. Nala #144744 made such an impression on mom that soon the house was filled with purrs of love from other furry furbabies & their lives without felines became a distant memory. As many of you know Nala #144744 became an angel at 12:34pm on August 29th, 2012 but some of you may not know that her beloved master Erik was away at Marine boot camp when it happened. When he called mom to tell her the good news about completing it & heading home, he naturally asked about his special cat. Mom shared the heartbreaking news with him but he doesn’t know that she’d asked us earlier to do something special for him by doing an ACOTD campaign for his beloved kitty when he got here. We’re asking everyone to please run, pounce or fly to paw a vote to ANGEL NALA #144744 on Friday October 5th. It will not only honor her memory but will also honor the service to our country of Erik, one of our newest Marines!

Congratulations to KING LEO #188022, our Cat of the Month for October! Your campaign was one that let us understand other breeds of cats that share our community & we hope you made some beautiful memories to put in your royal scrapbook for all your visitors to see.

PLEASE VOTE PHILIPPE & MEI LI #237749 OCTOBER 1st
Philippe & Mei Li were being cared for at the local animal shelter, and every day they waited in anticipation for their furever family to come along! As it turns out, they were both adopted in 2011, but in different months. Philippe was 4.5 years old when he went home in March with his new loving family, and Mei Li was 1 year old when she was adopted in July! These precious kitties both share the same CC page #237749, but have their own very special purrsonalities! Philippe is a very mellow laid back kitty! And Mei Li is very playful and loves to be petted! They both enjoy sitting by the window and watching the birdies outside, as you can see by the cute photo in their gallery! Their adoptive pawrents are long time beloved members of our CC family, and their fursib, King Angel Henry was COTM in September of 2011.
