Hi Sam & Annie,
A vote for you both. Yes, the first 6 years of my life I travel in an motor home with my pawrents. We traveled on the West Coast spending summers in Idaho and winters in the south. We did a lot of volunteering at wildlife refuges and Salton Sea State Park. When we were park I was on my leash that was attached to the door of the motor home. I could go out about 6 feet in all directions. I had many adventures and share them with my friends. Now I live on the 3rd floor of a senior apartment complex.
The weather is still unsettled. This morning it looked & felt like we were in for a storm. A couple hours later the sun was shining, now it’s overcast again. The forecast is for 70 degrees in a couple of days. I am ready for it. The flowers are in bloom everywhere and the trees are starting to leaf out along with the spring flowering trees & shrubs.
We had some excitement yesterday afternoon. A couple of large hawks were flying around and finally landed on the trees near the drainage ditch. It took a couple of hours to identify them. My Dad had to get out the spotting scope to find the identifying mark. Mom wouldn’t let me out on my patio even through the hawks were Swainson’s that eat large insects and small birds & rodents. As there are no grasshoppers in my field yet, they may not stay around. The red-tailed nest is occupied and they don’t like other hawks around.
Later that evening my Dad went out the door and I watch the car leave, I didn’t like it all all. I went by the front door and cried for 5 about 5 minutes. I watch all evening for the car to return and it didn’t. My Mom had that mask on her face so I didn’t want to get too near her. About 5:00 A.M., played with the bug chaser for awhile and went to the window and the car still wasn’t there. Later, Mom told me my Dad was there and I didn’t believe her and was surprise when he walked into the room. I decided not to greet him. I will have another adventure later in the week.
