Hi Schoosie, I mainly like feathers ans string. Sebastian likes to attack mom's hands when she is trying to write, especially when she is trying to study. (Mom is working on her Matser's degree). Ode to my Schmoosh-faced cat...
Barely a mew caught my ear
Your leg bandaged up, the one in the rear
“Hi Little Kitty,” I softly purred back
“She’s so sweet,” said Dr. Novac
Why are you lost and hurt, so far from home?
Where is your family, or do you have none?
Poor little kitty, what happened to you?
Your leg will be fixed, almost like new.
A foster is needed for just a short while
I can help you mend, you bring me a smile.
Sagan is lonely as we lost our friend,
But he accepts no foster, but we’ll try again.
With your nose pushed in and big copper eyes
A Persian is love in a furry disguise
My heart was still hurting from losing my cat
I say you can’t stay, when well--you have to come back
But weeks of mending, your nose won’t stop sneezing
The nights in the shelter are making you freezing
Chronic URI is what they are saying,
Well, let’s go home…I guess you are staying.
Sagan has missed you and so have we
Who would have guessed that you'd adopt me?
A Persian, I thought, was a snooty odd fluff
But then I saw you were cunning and tough.
You took a chance acting sick in the shelter
But you were just faking, cause now you are healthier
I laugh at your antics, kacking a birds
You speak to me with soft little purrs.
Each day you greet me with your big copper eyes,
Your soft little coat, your soft little crys..
Who knew how much I would love my Persian,
I guess you are wiser than even this person.
You helped heal my heart, I helped heal your leg
I’m so glad you told me you decided to stay.
I still don’t know why you were out as a stray
But they brought you to me and I’m lucky each day.
