Education: Hattie survived Hurricane Katrina when she was barely a month old. She and her siblings were living in the Gulfport, MS area where they were rescued in the days following the storm and were transported to a temporary shelter in Hattiesburg, MS. This is how she acquired the name "Hattie".

My favorite tricks and treats are: Her biggest trick was probably training me to perform any trick she wants me to do! and Occasionally she gets to lick up the few drops of milk left in the bottom of my cereal bowl but we are careful not to leave too much milk. Just enough for a little taste.

Where I hang out: When I stretch out on the futon Hattie like's to lie on her back beside me using the crook of my arm for a pillow.

My favorite grubs: Fortunately for me, there is one brand of Lysine treats that she enjoys. As far as food she likes Hill's Science Diet Sensitive Stomach Dry. She is also quite fond of lettuce, particularly if it comes off of my plate.

My pet peeves: Hattie hates to have her nap time disturbed.
She also has a strong dislike of storms that produce strong winds.

What I love about my owners: Since Hattie actually "owns" me, you would have to ask her. I love her because she is a soul mate to me. We share a special bond because of our shared experiences with Hurricane Katrina. It's like I can talk to her when I can't talk to family or friends about things I saw on the gulfcoast. She can be an excellent therapist!

My cat hobbies: Depending on her mood she either loves to sleep or she enjoys playing "chase' with some of the other rescue cat's that she allows to live in her house.
