Hi Mama!
Thanks for the concatulations to me and Talley on our engagement! We are two happy kitties!

The outside kitties were on edge this morning, as was Mom when she opened the garage and smelled skunk! My Mom got out her flashlight and tennis racket and went out walking along the street, to hopefully scare it away if the skunk was still nearby. Thank goodness the coast was clear. Not sure what Mom would have done if she had run into the skunk. :( Whitey and Orangie ate fine; everyone just seemed a bit nervous.

I’m glad you liked today’s blog. Thank you so much for your furiendship and support! I could really cash in on the hairball clause too! MOL!

The outside kitties are doing fine. Mom spends more time with them than she does with us! Just kidding. But it does seem like that sometimes. After they are finished eating, Callie and I are always waiting to run into the garage to see what went on in there. Mom thinks we will be fine when we finally do meet face to face!

Hi Mama Girl..
You are back in time to cheer me up, you won'tbelieve what happened in our basement last evening. Mom was doing some laundry and getting ready to exercise when a terrible commotion started. Flapping and bumping and Zoe was right on it's tailfeathers...
Mom was freaking out and now I am up and chashing it too. Mom tries to get it to go out the door but it is going everywhere but to the dood. Mom finally goes upstairs and gives up when it gets to close to her head, so Zoe Monique and Zachary Pierre killed their very first bird... or maybe it had a heart attack.

YIPPEE! You are my 6000th vote!!! Thank you so much sweet furiend. I will post this milestone on my page. Thank you for your furiendship and support!

This morning my Mom was with the outside kitties for over an hour. I was getting pretty tired of waiting! Mom sat on the floor again, to get to eye level with the outside cats, and Whitey really likes this. Whitey kept rubbing her face all over Mom & purring. Mom’s clothes were covered in fur! Callie and I were quick to check it out and sniff to see whom she had been with. MOL!
Orangie was reluctant at first, but then would sneak behind Mom, sniff her and then go running away. Mom didn’t move and Orangie kept coming back like it was a game. Sniff and Run! Afterwards the kitties ate, not really noticing any scents from Callie and me. (I really think I need to spray that cat carrier. MOL!) Mom says this was a good morning. :)

Hi Mama!
My sister Callie and I got to play in the garage inside Whitey & Orangie’s cat carrier yesterday. We even ate out of their dry cat food dish! I tried to bring one of their catnip mice toys back inside with me, but Mom caught me and put it back. Aw, gee Mom! So this morning when Mom fed them, Whitey starting sniffing around, Orangie too. Then Mom said they both started rubbing their faces all over everything. We think this is a good sign. Afterwards, they both ate as usual and Whitey sat by Mom’s feet, taking her after-meal bath. Our dear furiend, Angel Q. Miss Millie had a good idea. She suggested Mom sit on the ground to be more at eye level with them. Whitey seemed to like this, but Orangie wasn’t too sure, so he kept his distance. Mom is going to keep doing this, hoping Orangie will eventually come around.

Hi Mama!
We never knew cats had fewer tastebuds either! My Mom did notice the first thing we always do with our food is sniff it. Then if it smells good, we dig in!

The saga of our outside kitties continues… My Mom lifted the top half of the cat carrier onto several old newspaper crates and set it beside the bottom half of the carrier. Whitey & Orangie were curious this morning when they saw it, but not afraid. They both sniffed around it and then went back to the business of eating. Mom plans to slowly slide the top half of the carrier onto the bottom half. This was a great idea from our dear furiend Mischief!

P.S. You know, the outside kitties didn't seem to react to our scent on the carrier. I think they were too busy wondering what the top half of the carrier was doing raised up on boxes. My Mom is going to let my sis and I check it out again today. I don't think I'll be able to sneak a quick spray, because Mom will be watching! MOL!

I’m so glad I made you smile at today’s blog. Thank you so much for your furiendship and support! Give your dear Mom a hug for us.

This morning after my Mom finished feeding and playing with the outside kitties, Mom let Callie and I in the garage (with the door shut of course) to sniff the cat carrier where Whitey & Orangie eat. We both ran to give it the once over. I even stepped inside the bottom half where they eat. Mom laughed while we sniffed and rubbed our faces everywhere. I thought about spraying the carrier, but Mom saw me and shouted OH NO! She’s no fun. Doesn’t she know that’s a sign of kitty love?! MOL! Mom is going to let us do this every day and see if the outside kitties notice and react. Baby steps …

Hi Mama
How goes it with you? I am good. I just cleaned a plate full of pasketti sauce..MOL!!! Mom had it for dinner.

You know our weather is back to ickky!!! We had such warm sunny days last week and this week is rotten...no sun, it's been windy and gloomy and cool!!! What happened to that??

We got to play outside today though cause it was not too cold, it was in the mid 60's, but no sunny skies and still windy, but it was nice to be out after being stuck inside all weekend and yesterday.

Mom finally finihsed putting her trellis together and put all the flowers and birds, butterflies and windchimes on it....momma took a piccy of it and will post one on Kels page when she finally decided to empty her memory card!

We pray Mummy is recovering from her fall down the steps! We were so worried when we heard that! Nasty business. I know you kitties are giving her lots of purr therapy. Getting a late start again today. Mom saw the surgeon this morning. He is pleased with her progress & will see her again in six weeks. She will continue her PT. The landlord came today & finally mowed the lawn! Boy was it high. He ended up with two gabage bags of grass. Maybe next time Mom will be able to do it. we will see. Hi Mama!
Today is housecleaning day and we already saw Mom getting the mean ole vacuum cleaner out of the closet! Time to head for our safe spots in the backyard. The temperature was 90 degrees yesterday, so hopefully Mom finishes quickly so we can come back inside without all the housecleaning noise!

The outside kitties were fine this morning. A small, baby raccoon was eating from the dry food bowls, but Whitey & Orangie didn’t seem scared of him. They both came out of their Igloo when Mom opened the garage door and the raccoon went scurrying off. My Mom doesn’t like to chase baby raccoons away, but knows they could hurt the cats. :(

We hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day with your family yesterday!

Feline Wisdom: A Mother’s Day Letter From My Cats - by Angie Bailey

Dear Meow-my,

Today is Mother’s Day, and because we love and care about you, we have a few points we’d like you to consider:

1. You’re perfect just the way you are. Sometimes we see you worry about silly things and we think you should worry less and nap more. It works for us. And we’ll even nap with you – what a deal!

2. We love it when you let us sleep in your chair. Even when you need to sit there, you never move us – you just balance your butt on the very edge of the chair so you don’t disturb us. You are kind…and well-trained.

3. We know you want to develop a consistent yoga routine and we think that’s a great idea. Stretching feels fantastic and we just want you to know we’re here to help you. You know how we are – the minute you sit on the floor, we climb all over you. Sometimes this annoys you, but we are only trying to help you master the poses. You’re welcome.

4. We also think you should read more books. We notice you look more relaxed when you read, and we like that. Additionally, you reading a book means we’re charged with rubbing our faces all over it and lying on top of it, forcing you to eventually stop reading and pay lots and lots of attention to us. So please read, relax, but focus most of your energy on us.

5. We have a relaxation tip for you: Have you tried napping on a pile of warm laundry? It’s just the best! Try a load of towels – you’ll never go back.

6. Don’t feel guilty about eating a treat now and again. In fact, get really excited about it! You see us, right? Do you notice how we race around the kitchen and cheer when you show us the treat jar? You need to do some racing and cheering over cupcakes. We’ll grab the camera.

7. We love it when you play with us! We think sometimes you should close that computer-thingy and play more often – and not just with us! Take a walk, go swimming or meet friends for tea. And sometimes, we want to be your only laptop.

Hopefully you will find our suggestions helpful. We kitties are smart and know how to live happy and balanced lives and we want that for you, too! Thank you for everything you do for us. We don’t even mind a camera in our faces now and again – we know that makes you happy. Not to create more work for you, but we would like to suggest that you do a few more loads of laundry each week. What? You read #5, right?

Friday purrs from the NICE Crew
Happy Friday everycat! It's a very cool, wet day around here & mom's sinuses are causing her head to hurt so I've got to make this short & sweet so we can convince her she needs to take a nap with us.
I was whacking at Fluffernut earlier today because she keept trying to take away the toy I dragged out of the basket to play with. Trixie saw the commotion & got her attention so that she'd race with her for a while before I did her bodily harm that would have her hiding under the bed the rest of the day...MOL! Zaboo gave all of us 'the look' a few minutes ago so we're now snuggled on our favorite blankets with dreamland right around the corner. YAWN...cloudy day + orneriness= 4 very sleepy kitties...MOL!
Well got to go because my eyes are getting very heavy & Zaboo is giving mom a hint that naptime is here by trying to lay on her laptop as she types.

Just a reminder that we won't be doing anything but daily voting until Monday.

Here are more ways that cats express their undying affection for us:

8. Cats Love with Kneading. Kneading behaviors—front paw treading on soft surfaces—hearken back to kittenhood. Kitten paws knead against the mother cat’s breasts to induce milk to be released. Adult cats continue the behavior when they’re feeling most relaxed and content and loved, and that’s often when being petted on the owner’s lap. Kneading is an obvious expression of adoration.

9. Cats Love with Playing. Kittens play out of pure enjoyment, and many never outgrow playtime. Some cats may actually control the interaction of petting by moving just out of reach—so YOU must go to THEM. Their most favorite playmate typically is a trusted, beloved companion.

10. Cats Love with Sleeping. As sleep champs, felines typically sleep up to 16 hours a day. Because they are most vulnerable during sleep, the place your cat chooses to snooze must be a secure and trusted location. There is no greater loving compliment than a cat choosing your lap for a favorite sleep spot.

11. Cats Love with their Eyes. A kitty’s eyes are proportionately very large—if human’s eyes were the same proportion, our eyes would be eight inches across! As such, cat eyes are important assets for survival, yet extremely vulnerable. Cats that place their faces and wide-open eyes near a human express great trust and love. A slow “eye blink” from across the room is considered a cat kiss.

12. Cats Love with their Butts. This is another “back handed compliment” that cats offer to only their most trusted, beloved people. Because kitties identify each other by scent, butt-sniffing is the equivalent to a very personal hand shake. When your cat jumps on your lap and presents her tail in your face, the invitation is obvious—not that you need to sniff!

13. Cats Love with their Tails. In a similar fashion, the “elevator butt” pose invites you to give special attention. Simply scratch her above the tail. Cats also signal their love when they approach you with the tail held straight up, and the end slightly tipped over. Kittens use this to greet their mother—and adult cats continue to treat their favorite humans like a beloved mom, with tails flagged high in respect.

14. Cats Love with Meowing. Cats rarely meow at other cats. Kitty uses these vocalizations specifically to interact with her people. Do you make a point to talk with those you dislike? Neither do cats! Even when kitty pesters you with lots of meows, she’s interacting with you out of love.

THE FENCE -

A cat will sit on a fence for hours on end
Sometimes on their own or just with a friend
They sit so still, as if made of stone
Perfectly balanced in a twilight zone
How do they sit on a fence that’s not very wide
If we tried to do it we'd have a sore back side
The one thing that always gets them down on the floor
Is the sound of someone opening that old fridge door.

THE PILL -

Before you even attempt to give your Cat a pill
Be sure you can do it or you will end up ill
To give a Cat a pill will be no easy task
Protective clothes are needed plus a clawproof mask
For after the pill gets past that cute little nose
It must pass a canyon of razors where no finger goes
Hold tight to those legs that have very soft paws
Because behind them are daggers that can win any wars
So take this advice before you give that pill to your pet
Take your Cat in the car and leave the pill to the VET.

A Cat's Diary -

Day 84 of my captivity…

My captors continued to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild satisfaction I get from clawing the furniture. Tomorrow I may eat another house plant.

Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded. Maybe I should try this at the top of the stairs.

In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors, I once again induced myself to vomit on their favorite chair. I must try this on their bed.

Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body in an attempt to make them aware of what I am capable of, and to try to strike fear into their hearts. They only cooed and condescended about what a good little kitty cat I was. This is not working according to plan.

There was some sort of gathering of their accomplices. I was placed in solitary confinement throughout the event. However, I could hear the noise and smell the food. More important, I overheard that my confinement was due to my powers of inducing something called ' allergies.' Must learn what this is and how to use it to my advantage.

I am convinced the other captives are flunkies and maybe snitches. The dog is routinely released and seems more than happy to return. He is obviously a half-wit.

The bird, on the other hand, has got to be an informant. He speaks with them regularly, and I am certain he reports my every move. Due to his current placement in the metal room, his safety is assured. But I can wait.

It's only a matter of time. =^.^=

May 6, 2013--- Guess its about time!
Good Monday Morning! Have a super day! We want to apologize that it has been forever since we did a good round of blogging on CC. Now we are doing a c/p and do have to apologize to you. We are well and have told a few friends that mom is planning a big trip to visit family in Norway this summer. Also, a cousin from Norway will be returning here for a visit after. Mom has to do some painting and work on the house too or arrange for it to be done. Kitty care and a house-sitter is arranged. Doggy care is in the works. Mom got her e-ticket and her Passport came Saturday.

We also feel guilty that K.Barney did promise continued stories time to time and so far we have not! Well, we do have one for today, but will have to keep it short. Not a story mom is too proud of, because she should have listened to Angel Pasha, who you met during our Catpaign. One summer night he bit her arm to wake her out of a sound sleep and then ran to the window. To mom's credit she looked out, but did not see anything, so chased Pasha from their room. He tried to protest and kept running to the window, but mom still did not see anything and did not investigate further. Well, she did lean her lesson----- in the morning she talked to her neighbor and found out he had been gone that night and his house was robbed! Mom felt so guilty that she had not done more, but she was so tired and did not see or hear anything from where she was. She sure learned that cats may have more of a sense when something is wrong than most humans realize. Of course, there are still times when we kitties just can't sleep and we want some company.

TGIF meows from the NICE Crew
Hi Mama & fursibs,
We're saying prayers that your mom starts feeling better very soon.

Woohoo...Friday has finally arrived. Why am I so excited? Simple because Dad & the kids are home on the weekends so that means more Patchy attention time...MOL! I'm famous, or perhaps infamous, for jumping up on any available lap & kneading as hard as I can. I love showing them how much I love them...even if they do get a few minor puncture wounds...MOL!
Today is another sunny but warm day with some light winds blowing into the windows which mom opened up earlier. Outside girl Sassee is being very grumpy about anyone sitting in the master bedroom window & keeps climbing up to try smacking us. Mom has scolded her several times so hopefully she'll soon realize that we're not going to come out into her 'kingdom' & try to cause problems. Mom says it's the feral in her coming out again. Hmmm...let me whack at her mom. I hate that she hissed at me anyway so let me teach her a paw lesson she won't soon forget because I'm quite a bit bigger than she is. Darn...mom said no so I guess I'll have to be content hissing at her through the screen...SIGH!
Q Trixie is getting ticked off at her & has been chasing Fluffers around the house to work off her frustrations. The thing is that Fluffers is loving it...MOL! Zaboo is laying in the target window right now as if he's daring her to come back because he's even upset with her...& that takes quite a bit because he's so laid-back. Luckily Joseph ran interference & convinced Sassee to get away from the window but even he can't control her sassy catitude. Mom definitely named her right...MOL!
Well I've got to get pouncing because mom is trying to catch up some laundry & still needs to clean up all the dog fur in the family room where Sammie is shedding.

We're back into our 'normal' routine now so will be doing daily voting ONLY on Saturday & Sunday. Have a pawsome weekend & I'll meow at you again next week.

Hi Mama
Nice day today. Earlier in the morning it was wet and drippy, but then it cleared up nicely and reached 71*...it is very nice out, but a bit windy. Mom was finally able to get us outside when she got home.

Mom had to go to FedEx today and send out some faxes, and she applied for a job at NCI, and picked up some pop at Walgreens.

Guess what??? Mom said if this weather keeps up she is start BBQing soon. Wow...outside food is the best food. That is when the dirty flies stay away from it. <MOL>

Mom planted her Morning Glories today, the envelope said to plant them in May and tomorrow is May, so mom did it a day early...can't wait to see them sprout.

Happy Caturday Mama & family! I’m sad to meow that this will be our last weekend outing to a zoo. Glad Mummy is feeling better! That is wonderful! Thanks very much for your prayers for Mom. Very much appreciated. She will be so glad to get the surgery over with and see how much range of motion she has. She wants to get busy with the next stage of therapy. Tomorrow Uncle has to take her to the DR for medical clearance for the surgery. She will ask Uncle to stop at a drug store so she can get Tylenol. That is the only pain reliever she is allowed to take. The rest are all blood thinners. All Mom has is her prescription Ibprofen & Aleve and can't take them til after the surgery. Leaving a healing vote for your sweet Mummy & keeping her in our prayers. Peace & love. Have a purrfect evening. Kitty Kisses. Dean

~Queen Trixie's Animal Tales~ April 25th
Good Morning sweet kitties! Thank you for pouncing by my Imperial cabin with your loving support & sweet blogs. Today is supposed to be warmer with highs in the mid-50s so please wear a jacket while you’re out hiking or exploring. *FYI*The coronation time has been set!! It will be on May 1st at 7am PT (10am ET) due to the work schedule of Spunky’s mom.
Today I’d like to meow to you about another special kitty whose daring deeds will amuse you & show just how resourceful a kitty can be when they’re determined.
TOBY (from Timmy #8851)-Toby was a special super smart Manx cat who always seemed to be one step ahead of mom & dad as he thought of things to get them out of bed to feed him. He learned to jump up to turn the bedroom lights on, so dad moved the hamper to impede his access. Toby circumnavigated that obstacle & instead learned how to flip the switch to turn on the clock radio to wake mom up in the middle of the night. That time dad threw a towel over the radio. Not to be deterred on his waking ploys, Toby then learned to roll the bedroom closet doors back & forth on the runners so that mom would reach out & swat at him. Eventually mom or dad would put Toby outside so then he started climbing a tree to get on the roof so he could tap on the window outside their bedroom. They couldn't very well move the tree…MOL! Mom always ended up giving in by letting Toby in. He also fought the neighborhood "bully", a very big, mean German shepherd who had already killed several cats in the area. One day mom heard a noise on the porch & looked out in time to see the dog running up on the porch to grab Toby. Bad move on the dog’s part! Toby quickly turned on the dog, jumped on his neck and started ripping the dog's nose open. Fearing for his face & possibly his life, the dog took off with Toby still riding him. Later that night Mom got a call from neighbors asking them to pay for the vet bills for the dog. Mom said, "I don't think so." & that was the end of that conversation…MOL! Toby also loved to go swimming. One night mom heard coonhounds baying and opened the door to see Toby running across the fields with dogs on his heels, dragging a muskrat trap on his leg. He must have gotten it while swimming & managed to pull it up to get home, but it was a close call. When Toby was 17 he still wanted to go out in the cold sometimes, but spent a lot more time curled up on moms lap. When he became very sick & began having a lot of accidents in the house, loving mom helped him cross the Rainbow Bridge to ease his suffering. To this day Mom always remembers their super smart Toby & the adventure filled long life he lived.

I hereby present Angel Toby’s family with the Calico Medal of Ingenuity for his ability to overcome obstacles put in his path & thank them for sharing his touching story.

Hi Mama
How ya been?? I am alright. It was another nice day here today. WE got to go outside. the sun was shining, but there was wind. It is supposed to rain later.

Me and Kelsee just finished dinner and now we are bathing before our nap..you know how it goes with us kitties..eat, nap, play, nap....

Mom cleaned out out litter boxes today and then she had the nerve to take out that new floor monster she has...good thing we were outside when that was on...even though it is a lot quieter then the old one was, it still makes noise.

Well, it's here...the rain started...it is coming down. I was sitting in the window and was getting wet...now mom threw me a orange mouse and I am playing with it.
