Mom is watching game 4 of the Boston/Hawks series. Hawks are ahead by 1 going into the 3rd period. Come on Boston. Boston just scored..tied at 4 each.

I spent the day outside today, it was purrfect out. 77* and sunny with a light breeze. just purrfect. Mom enjoyed being outside too with her Kindle Fire, she has music and games and books on it, so she was reading.

We also BBQ'd outside and mom had burgers and beans and shared a burger with us, I had 1 bite and Jesse & Kelsee had lots of bites...mom always makes us a burger and them 2 eat it all. MOL!!! I do not eat people food a lot, my fave is chicken.

How are you doing? We had a bit of adventure & unwanted excitement here recently. Mom had to fire someone & they went off the deep end a lotta bit. It's been a little crazy with that, just when that smoke cleared mom's ex-boyfriend re-surfaced. We now know why he's an EX. That turned out to be major league stress & it's more than mom needs so he's gone for good now. She's been a bit sad over that these last few days, we didn't mean to be strangers. Heartache made a reappearance & we wish it didn't. Just a little time & rest & she'll be as good as new. We have been thinking of you guys & missing our buddies. ♥ Wow!!!! Was I surprised when mom got an email letting her know the winners were available and that mom and I won 2nd Place in the Hug Your Cat Contest!!!! We are very happy that Winslow 132020 and his sweet momma Shirley had won 1st Place!!!! Mom sent her an email to let her know yesterday and she was happy to hear her fur baby had won!!!!

♥ Mom and I do want to apologize though for the picture mom had chosen to enter as it was the same one she chose for last year's contest. We never knew that til one of our friends told us about half way thru the contest. Thank you to those who voted for me!!!!

♥ Well, I had to try out the new kitty bed, too, and of course, mom had to get a picture of me so now she also changed my profile photo this evening!!!!

♥ We think that with these wild fires that happens every year and burns the homes down then they rebuild just for it to happen all over again, that they should build solid brick homes as they are fire proof and the humans wouldn't loose their belongings and mostly their beloved fur babies!!!!

Mr. Sunshine escaped and came back yesterday but i think he's afraid the bad guys followed him because he's mostly been peeking in & out since he got back.

yesterday i saw mom coming towards me trying to look nonchalant but i knew something was up. as she approached the cat tree i leapt from the top platform and darn if she didn't catch me in mid-air and throw me in the carrier.
in the car we go, we get to the vets and she pulls me out of the carrier so they can stick that bright light in my eyes, pry my mouth open, put that stupid cold round disc on my chest, pull on my ears while they stuff something in there, and then jab me with a needle, not once but twice!!! and do you know what mom was saying THE WHOLE TIME, "it's all right Puzzle, honey" what is wrong with that woman!!! of course it was all right with her, nobody was doing a darn thing to her!!! when we got home i refused to even look at her alllllllllll afternoon. of course by evening i let up a little, after all i do know where my supper comes from ; )

The sooner you two females both accept that, the better off we'll all be. If I were to act differently now, it would show great disrespect to the long lineage of my black cat hunter heritage. You wouldn't want me to be viewed disgracefully by my family ancestors, now would you?"

"Didn't you notice how scared I was the last time he went after me? Or don't you care anymore?" Skitzy directed her questions of distress to me!

"Scaredy Cat, Scaredy Cat. Skitzy's nothing but a Scaredy cat!" Cole seemed to enjoy the way he was mocking Skitzy!

"Cole" I said "That's enough!"

"I'm sorry this has been traumatic for you Skitzy! I'll try to do better, and give you more quality time and attention. But you have to do your part too, and stop hiding out under my bed so much! How can I pet you, when I can't reach you under there very easily?"

"How many times have I heard you say that? You're always telling me you'll do better, but it never happens! I've been your sweet and loving cat all along, until you brought that...that...grievous cat Cole into this place" Skitzy sputtered. "I've done nothing wrong whatsoever to deserve the treatment I've gotten from either one of you!" I had to admit, she was justified in feeling that way.

Watching the Wheels go Round 06/19/13
“Round .. like a circle in a spiral,
Like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning
On an ever spinning reel …”

Yes, that’s CC this morning, but our intrepid golfers manage to get here anyway, to make our little round golf balls roll across the green on this glorious putting day. Or something.

First to brave the slowly spinning circles is Steve, who saunters in on Sauntering Day to leave us with a 58 (=13). Next comes Haley with her 53 (=8), also wading through the slowness that is CC in the early morning hours.

“HERE I come to save the DAYYYY …” It’s Tucker, the Mighty Mouse Hunter, fresh from his very first catch! He celebrates this with a 52 (=7) for the day. Good work, Tucker! Mimi is less enthusiastic as she comes to hide out from Mom after learning that the shrimp treat she brought us yesterday was actually Mom’s and was being saved for a special occasion. It’s a 66 (=12) for Mimi. We’ll hide ya!

Never fear, UBB is here and since it is Message Day he saunters in with messages of encouragement and consolation for all. And a 46 (=10). Engine is ready for some R & R, bringing her hammock and her 67 (=13). She heads to the clubhouse to send out for some Parrot Pizza. Extra sunflower seeds, please!

The weather almost-twins are up next. Bee Gee has been waiting (and waiting …. and waiting …) to bring us her 55 (=10), while Mallow delivers her 54 (=9) with a side of Mouse Lasagne, in honour of both Tucker’s accomplishment and Garfield the Cat day.

Finally comes Late LiLi, who was so hypnotized by the turning of the wheels that she almost forgot about golf. I think that’s just an excuse, we all know she was busy trying to decide which sundress to wear. Yellow & white stripes with rosebuds is a winner …. Always.

Who’s buying a round for the house today? (round? wheels, circles, get it? Oh, never mind …. ) The results stack up like this:
1st – Tucker, the mighty hunter with 7
2nd – Haley the slow poke with 8
3rd – Mallow of the lasagne breath with 9

Charging the carts today are Steve and Engine, both with 13. Out of the hammock now, and saunter on over to the cart barn. Leave the Parrot Pizza, though. It was quite windy this morning when my Mom fed the outside kitties, so it was very distracting for both cats. They were very jumpy at any noise, such as leaves blowing across the driveway. It took them awhile to finish eating, but they did, stayed for a little petting and then headed back to their Igloo where they felt safer. Callie and I are watching the trees blow, safely from our bay window. The perks of being an indoor cat!

Purrs and hugs. CC is very slow today. Sorry for being so late :(

Hahahahaha...you're too funny! I like the jungle look 'cause otherwise the catpolice would be on the catpot trail. If I see Tarzan, I'll send him your way fur sure. Doodles climbs trees all of the time--not sure if you could even see him in the picture mom posted. He's way up and I'm surprised that he didn't call in for a tank of oxygen since the atmosphere is kind of thin at that level. How are the kittens?

The only way I could get her out from under there, was by moving my bed a few times. Then she'd reluctantly and fearfully dash into the room she was confined to. Then Cole got his turn to explore the other rooms.

Before, when it was Skitzy's turn to be out, she'd run around the back of the living room couch, or plop down in my lap to help me with my latest knitting project. Now the only place she seemed to want to be, was under my bed.

"That hour you spent cuddling me when we watched Ice Skating together was really nice" Skitzy continued, "but most of the time I hardly get five minutes of you petting me or paying attention to me. Sometimes I think you forget that I'm even around. You've become so computer addicted, that the only time I get let out now, is when you're getting ready to go to sleep. Do you call that quality cat/human time?" Skitzy asked me in disgust.

"I used to be able to type on the keys of the computer, or block your view of the computer screen, or curl up for a nap in your lap, while you typed." Skitzy reminisced. "Now I never get to go in that room anymore, since Cole's been here!"

I felt a rip to my heart. I thought of changing things around, but when Cole was first confined to a different room, he tore up the carpeting trying to get out. Granted the carpeting was old, and needs to be replaced anyway, but I didn't expect Cole would so actively assist with that job. Or I could move the computer to the other room, to have more quality time with Skitzy, but that would be a big undertaking on my part.

"Oh you're such a little baby, Skitzy." Cole piped in with a smug look on his face. "Why don't you just face facts? Our human person, just happens to like me better than she likes you!"

"That's not true!" I protested. How did I become the human enemy in all of this? "I love you both and care about the welfare of both of you." The nerve of Cole, coming out with those upsetting remarks to Skitzy and to me! Cole can be a bratty cat at times and this was one of them.

"Well you hurt me the last time you attacked me!" Skitzy said plaintively.

"It's not my fault that you must have flunked out of your cat courses in how to defend yourself! I'm just doing what comes naturally to me. Which is go after anything that moves. You move Skitzy, I'll go after you. It's as simple as that!"

"What do you expect me to do? Stand still, like I'm some sort of cat statue or something?"

"Cole" I intervened. "You're a lot bigger than Skitzy is!

Nice day for a picnic. 6-18-13
It's been raining here ALL day! Good thing we have those covered patios at the club house. I just love patio picnics. :)

First to arrive with his Astroturf picnic blanket is Steve, bringing his 63 and NO picnic goodies! .... Sounds like Haley has humidity but no rain for once! Great for an outdoor picnic. She scores with a 60.

Mimi saves the day with 5 lbs. of frozen shrimp! Don't worry about peeling those little crustaceans. That's what fangs are for! She leaves us with a 73 and heads over to the Astroturf ..... Tucker is here to splurge! On anything and everything. Well then, after the picnic, you can splurge on drinks! *wink* He leaves a 61 and heads to the picnic table.

Engine is here with all the picnic favorites - mouse dogs and bat burgers. And more Heloise-type advice: Ladies, a shot of Cat Daniels will help remove that sticky stuff from everything. Or, knock back a shot or two and you won't care about that stickiness! A 70 for the chef.

Also here with overcast and no rain is UBB, leaving a 57 and volunteering his multi-thumbed catty to help prep those little shrimpies. ..... Pinkie LaLiLi, all pink all the time! At least for today! :) Color her sunshine pink, as she drives one for a doozy - 77!

Bee Gee brings her fishing gear to the picnic. Shrimp DO make good bait! And jambalaya! She has a chilly little 58 this morning....... And Mallow arrives in style, but not ON the course. :) She whacks a 57 and then proceeds to unload her picnic contributions.

So, who has the winning score today? Looks like:

1st - LiLi, 77. It pays to be pink!
2nd - Mimi, 73. It pays to bring shrimp!
3rd - Engine, 70. It pays to be sticky!

Looks like UBB and Mallow tie for losing honors today. Since we never left the covered driving range today I guess the carts never came out of their barn, the little dears. So I guess you get a "rain check" on cart duty. Get it? Rain check? Oh, I crack me up!

I've never paid attention to the trees and plants in your yard mainly because I've been on a mission to take care of the catpot. Bet you have a colorful garden? Yeah, mom is fine and actually, she was just sick on Caturday--what a waste of a purfectly good Caturday afternoon and evening! Meowing of climbing trees...I'm gonna scratch mom's ankle to get her to upload a picture of our outside Doodles from last week. Mom found him way, way up in a tall tree...MOL. She almost had me fire up my rocket to go fetch him...check out the picture below on my page in a bit. Glad that your itching is over with.

Hi Mimi!
This morning my Mom was feeding the outside cats, Whitey & Orangie, just like every morning, when suddenly a big, loud meow came from inside the house. It was me, Whiskers, standing on the other side of the kitchen door that leads to the garage. Mom said Whitey & Orangie were both startled. Orangie ran for cover to the Igloo, but Whitey slowly walked into the garage, right up to the kitchen door and just kept listening. I meowed a few more times and Mom said Whitey just sat there, listening intently. She sniffed the door and then walked back to Mom to be petted. Well, Whitey has never walked that far into the garage and she wasn’t scared. My Mom is hoping this is a sign that we will get along with one another, once they finally do come inside. It was a very good morning!

Wander With Whiskers – June 18-Big Sur to Carmel
Big Sur Coast Highway to Carmel

The Royal Feline Castle Train will be our guide through the Big Sur Coast Highway. We want to enjoy the spectacular scenery during the day, so after dinner on the train, we can all relax onboard for the night. Sip a cocktail in the lounge car, read in the library, gain a tree-top perspective of the landscape from the dome car or join furiends around the piano. Or simply relax in your cabin in the comfort of our sleeping cars until morning, when the breakfast bell chimes, signaling our journey is about to commence.

The stunning views of the Pacific Ocean right outside our windows make the perfect companion to our breakfast meal. Tables are set with crisp starched linens and fine china and glassware reminiscent of the glory days of rail travel.

Timing is perfect to enjoy a spectacular view of the California coastline as our train travels to our next destination of Carmel. We will be traveling the route that hugs the California coast, providing access to austere, windswept cypress trees, fog-shrouded cliffs and the crashing surf of the Pacific Ocean. Views include rugged canyons, towering redwoods, sea lions, and other marine life.

Big Sur's beaches are subject to generally cool weather. Sunny days are sporadic as a blanket of seasonal fog often hugs the coastline, dropping the temperature in the process. Private property and Big Sur's steep terrain make most of its coastline inaccessible to the public. However, several State Park and U.S. Forest Service beaches are open to the public all year. These beaches are recommended due to easy access and spine-tingling scenery.

The actual town of Big Sur has been a fertile area for artistic advancements. A variety of authors have immortalized the region with the written word. In the late 19th century, Robert Louis Stevenson lived briefly in the area, followed by John Steinbeck, Henry Miller, and Jack Kerouac, among others. Unlike many areas honored in literature, Big Sur remains relatively unchanged over the years.

John Steinbeck wrote, "Here at Big Sur, at a certain time of the year and a certain time of the day only, a pale blue-green hue pervades the distant hills; it is an old, nostalgic hue, it is a mystical phenomenon, or so I like to think, born of a certain way of looking at the world."

John Steinbeck's legacy is now synonymous with the Big Sur area. Known as Steinbeck Country, the cities of Monterey, Carmel and Salinas on the northern end of the byway brim with memories of John Steinbeck's legacy.

Our journey for now is almost over as we arrive to the city of Carmel.

The temperature was high 77 & low was 46 this morning, now it's 76 with humidity 37% & wind is 13 MPH W. Tuesday's suppose to be T-Storms & High 66.

♥ Hey, It's me again, WHYSKRS!

♥ I thought that you would like my cool pose! MOL! I like to sit like that alot! Mom and dad thinks I look pretty cool, too! MOL!

♥ Mom cleaned up this kitty that she had stuffed away in the storage shed for a couple years. She used to use it for the outside kitties as their waterer til she learned not to use plastics and such for our food and waterers. Anyways, she brought it inside and put it on the front room floor for us to check out so that's just what I started doing then Rhoamin 2921 came over to see it then I got in it and laid down! Can you guess what came next? Yeppers, the Pawpurrazzi's at it again! Mom took three pictures of me in it and now you can see me, too, in my picture gallery! MOL!

♥ So some of you were wondering what kind of bulbs mom got from Michigan Bulb! Well, she got 15 Cool Breeze Freesia Blend bulbs; 3 Summer Cheer Daffodil bulbs; 3 Switzerland Begonia tubers; 3 Passion Mixed Begonia tubers and 1 Independence Hosta plant. She's suppose to get the rest next week which is Oxalis Triangularis (Wood Sorrel) and Mixed Ranuculus. Mom calls those "Paper Roses" cuz that's what they look like to her!

Actually, she was better yesterday but since she was on call and had to work, I couldn't tell what was the cause of her displeasure. Dad was sick last week so mom feels sure that he passed it on to mom. Pretty pics below...I know that those are not our catpot plants? Did your flea bite allergies die down?

HUMAN STORIES: A TALE (OR IS THAT TAIL?) OF LIFE EVENTS FROM THE CATS PERSPECTIVES.

"One thing I've learned, and I've lived here some time, is that my human person, isn't very reliable. She doesn't even get it, that I'm much smarter then she is!" pouted Skitzy, my smaller female tortoiseshell cat.

The human counterpart of this two cat household, that being me, inquired about Skitzy's current mood. "Skitzy, You don't seem to be as happy as you once were? You don't seem to be your sweet little loving self. What's going on with you?" I asked her, hoping I could get to the cause of this change in her personality.

"You're the one you brought in that big black bully brute of a Cat named Cole! Though you talked to me about it before you brought him here, I've suffered greatly since he's lived here. I think you love him more than you love me!"

"Oh Skitzy! How can you say that? I brought Cole in because I thought you needed cat company after Misty died. I had hoped Cole would be a good cat companion and a playmate for you."

"Well you thought wrong didn't you?" Skitzy got that haughty and hurt look on her face. "You've seen the way he goes after me? The minute I move, that big brute, Cole is all over me, like peanut butter sticks to jelly. How can you ignore the keening noises I've made when he aggressively goes after me?"

"Skitzy I haven't been ignoring you. Those noises are very distressing to me. That's why I started my Cat separation system, and my cat rotation system." One cat gets confined to a bedroom, while the other cat freely gets to roam the rest of the place. Then it rotates and they change places. The Cat that was previously out, gets confined to a different room, and the one who was previously confined gets the run of the rest of the place. It would be so much simpler if I could have built a cat revolving door. "I've done that to protect you from Cole's aggressiveness. My cat rotation system, was to make it fair to both of you!" I pleaded with Skitzy.

"You call this set up fair?" Skitzy asked in protest. "I get confined much more then Cole does. I used to volunteer to go into the room I get confined in, or didn't you ever notice? But why should I go in there voluntarily now, after his last vicious attack on me?"

Everything she said was true. After the last time I tried to reintroduce them to each other, Skitzy got the worst of it from Cole. She became traumatized and wouldn't come out from under my bed. Even opening a can of wet cat food, did nothing to entice her out as it had in the past. (coninuted tomorrow)

Root beer day and eat your veggie day!! Woot-woot! Beans are in demand today. Odd bunch you all are.
Haley bops in wide awake for a Monday morning with her 58. She even beat me here!!! Making me look bad Haley.
I slop on over with another 65 and cases of root beer jangling in my cart. Ahhhh…I see appreciative smiles. Everyone gear up for the belching contest!
Humid Mimi is in a sticky situation with her 75. Look, her ball is sticking to her club-it’s a magic trick! No, false alarm, duct tape residual. We were SO looking forward to you pulling a rabbit from somewhere-yum!
Poor poofy Tuck is dragging from a humid 64,looking for A/C, and a fur straightener.
Engine wows us with the purrfect blend of root beer and veggies(who knew) with her root beer and catnip baked bean and pulled pork. That better not be a pork I know-not poor little DinDin! A 68-not bad! Beano? Bad-can’t win a wind competition with that.
BG fiddles her way onto the course with a muggy 70. Same fur do problem as Tuck??? Clogging,burping,fiddling-you’re like a one cat band, and a classy one too! All you need now is some tooting :)
Florida Lili is back in the house again!!!! (Well, on the course) with a 76 and rain. Don’t be bringing it our way. Ooh…crystals…Swarovski?? We can sell that, beer money you know.
UBB has a 72. What!!!!! You’re in the normal zone now UBB-what happened! Good idea-root beer and catnip floats. Haven’t had one of them since I was 2.
Armani and Miss Chloe return today today-CS reunion!!!! Why, none of you look a day older than the last time we met. Let’s all lie about our new jobs and yearly income like all good reunions. They bring a sunny 65 with them (see Lili-they brought SUN-hint, hint)
And lastly, blaming her computer for her tardiness is Mallow. She shuffles in hearing voices. She said the weather channel is talking to her and telling her its 57. Hmmmm….weather channel talking to you, computer possessed, are you sure your only drinking root beer???

The outside kitties Whitey & Orangie are doing fine. My Mom gave them a special treat, which we all got for Father’s Day. We love when she buys us Whiska’s Filet Mignon cat food. Unfortunately the vet doesn’t recommend it, so we only get it on occasions. I hope you had a nice weekend.

Purrs and hugs. We miss Angel K. Winslow too :(

Wander With Whiskers – June 17-Hearst Castle
San Luis Obispo to Cambria

Check out time at the Madonna Inn is later than the usual hotel. But then the Madonna Inn has been anything but usual! We’ll have time for breakfast & a game of tennis on the pink tennis courts, or just relax & stroll the grounds.

Back aboard the Royal Train to continue up the coast of CA. We’ll enjoy brunch as our train glides out of the depot & begins its journey to the town of Cambria. Here we will detrain to the waiting Feline Motor Coaches & head to San Simeon, home of Hearst Castle. If we’re lucky, we might catch an odd glimpse of a herd of zebras grazing alongside the highway. These are descendants of animals brought to California for William R. Hearst’s personal zoo. But don’t worry; they are well cared for by the Hearst Castle grounds men.

William Randolph Hearst, an American newspaper publisher who built the nation’s largest newspaper chain, told architect Julia Morgan that he wanted to built "a little something" on the CA coast. Three decades later, Casa Grande (commonly called Hearst Castle) crowned La Cuesta Encantada, Hearst's "Enchanted Hill" above tiny San Simeon. It's a 165-room Moorish castle with 127 acres of gardens, terraces, pools & walkways, furnished with Spanish & Italian antiques & art, flanked by three large guesthouses. In its heyday, Hearst Castle had a zoo, tennis courts & two magnificent swimming pools.

With a personal collection of ancient art, sculptures, furniture, relics & more, William Randolph Hearst amassed a collection that still rivals museums today, and used almost every square inch of the hilltop California estate to showcase it all.

Today Hearst Castle is a State Historical Monument, and we can all enjoy a glimpse into the Hearst's opulent lifestyle.

We’ll be taking the Hearst Castle Twilight Tour where costumed docents literally bring the Castle to life! Warm lighting & staff in 1930s costumes - women sipping martinis over their card game, reporters typing their days' stories in their bedrooms & lovers strolling the grounds - bring the massive house alive. We’ll wind our way through the Casa Grande’s social rooms, guest accommodations, the Office & Mr. Hearst’s own private Gothic Suite.

Hearst lived & entertained at San Simeon with his long-time girlfriend, actress Marion Davies. Their guests included Hollywood stars, politicians & dignitaries such as Charlie Chaplin, Clark Gable, Greta Garbo, Charles Lindbergh & Winston Churchill. On the Hearst Castle night tour, as visitors, we can pretend we've received an invitation to come to "the ranch."

Unfortunately, there’s no restaurant at the Hearst Castle. We have snacks onboard the Feline Motor coaches to tide us over until we’re back on the train, where our exceptional fine dining awaits us.

mom is feeling better now. last week she had a really sore throat and a bad cough. i've given up on the lizards!!! the last one you sent me via ups, Lollapalooza LiLi snatched him up,put a midnight blue bowtie with glitter on him and named him Leonardo,MOL.

we're in search of the culprits that stole our sunshine here in florida. they seem to have swooped in about a week ago,rounded up our Mr. Sunshine and replaced him with Mr. Downpour and Ms. Drizzle. we know that Mr. Sunshine has been trying to escape as there have been brief sighting of him. anyone with any information please contact Lollapalooza LiLi ~P.I.( Pawsome Investigations) or Puzzle~CIA (cat's intelligence association). all informants names will be withheld to protect the innocent. there is a reward of 5 large bags of greenies,choice of flavors and a heated fish shape bed.
