Education: Leo walked on a leash. He was in two parades, riding in a wagon. He was third place in Spay Day USA 2009 fundraising in Topeka. He was voted ANGEL CAT OF THE DAY SEPTEMBER 4, 2010. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE ON CAT CHANNEL FOR YOUR SUPPORT WHILE GRIEVING THE LOSS FOR THIS VERY SPECIAL, ONE OF A KIND GUY IN MY LIFE. Your love and compassion has helped me through a very difficult time and I appreciate all the kind words and prayers.
My favorite tricks and treats are: Leo is leashed trained and can open doors. He uses his paws like a raccoon's so he was pretty talented at dissecting toys. and He loves shaved ham.
Where I hang out: Momma Katt's desk, or the top of the couch. Loved to lay in the sun on the deck.
My favorite grubs: Any type of canned food.
My pet peeves: Rain, wind, and the cold weather.
What I love about my owners: Momma NEVER gave up on me. Through several serious infections, surgeries, and life with my FIV+ status, Momma still accepted everything as it was and loved me more because of it.
My cat hobbies: Chase balloons and toss them in the air. Love to play with kittens, and also love to give kisses with my paws wrapped around your neck or face. Guardian Angel to Carman, Wilson's brother. I also love to fly around with Angel Jake, and Ping, delivering Angel Sparkles to everyone to bless them.
Pet motto: Every kitty deserves a chance to have a good life. I did!

How We Met
Momma took off work one day in October 2001 because she wanted to go get a buddy for Webster. She went to the humane shelter and was looking at the kitties. I was in the cage alone, so I reached out and tapped her on the shoulder. She turned around and saw my face and said "YOU are LEO!" and got me home by that evening. I was only 9 weeks old!
Momma took me to the vet before going home. The vet came in and said "well, good news is he's leukemia negative. Bad news, well, he's got FIV - feline AIDS. The best thing to do is put him down and go back and get a healthy kitten". Momma didn't hesitate and told the vet NO, she could handle it. The vet sighed in relief and hugged Momma and said "I'm so glad you said that".
So Leo got three chances at life - birth, second chance at the shelter, and third chance to try and have a real life.
Leo's first two years were tough, he was getting his immune system in order, and fought various infections. He was a tender soul, and the alpha cat of the family. He loved kittens, chasing balloons and tossing them in the air, and he loved me most of all, he is my heart. He would put his paws on my legs, and I would pick him up, and like a child, he would put his paws around my neck, then grab my face, and kiss me. I adore him. His health was really good until the first of July, 2010, when he suddenly lost weight. I took him in to the vet, and after tests, the vet informed me that his AIDS was very present.
We treated him for 30 days with interferon alpha b and prednisolone, and his blood counts improved, and he gained his weight back. We really thought he was in the clear.
On August 4, Leo suddenly refused food and began slipping away. He was rehydrated and given an appetitite stimulant (and a lot of prayers). I got to take him home, but the next day, he had not improved. I rushed him in, and he passed away while I was holding him - his liver failed.
Everyone who knew Leo loved him. He was a good heart and soul. He never met a stranger. Leo would have loved you, too.

From Duckies Desk: Wow! The New Year is in full swing. The Mouse Hockey League is wide open with games being played on Sunday, Wednesday and Friday with many kitties attending each night. Voting is also continuing for the 2011-2012 class of the MHL-HOF! The Mouse Hockey League All-Star Game is only one week away. This will be an exciting game with the “Best of the Best” competing. From Duckies Desk: Happy New Year from your Little Angels at the beautiful Rainbow Bridge! This year will be our most exciting one yet! Your Little Angels are watching over our friends back home during the harsh weather of winter. The weather here at the Rainbow Bridge is a perfect 75 degrees the year round with green fields to run and play in and beautiful trees to climb! We each have our own little homes with beautiful gardens and big green meadows. The streams are full of fish and we can have mice cream every day!

From Duckie’s Desk: Wow! The Christmas Season is upon us! This is the most exciting time of the year to be at the Rainbow Bridge. The entire land is decorated and every tree is covered in lights. Christmas programs are planned for every night and the Rainbow Bridge Choir has concerts scheduled for every day until Christmas! If you go outside at night and look for the brightest star you can see the lights and if you listen quietly with your heart you will hear your “Special Angel” purring a song just for you.

From Duckie’s Desk: ~SPECIAL VETERAN’S DAY ANGEL SHOUT-OUT~
The angels are singing a chorus of goodwill as we celebrate the Veteran’s Day holiday. We give thanks to all of the members of our military branches for their service to our country and take this opportunity to honor one of them today with a SHOUT-OUT for the angel kitty of a devoted and beloved CC vet. LUCY FUR #78175 was a feisty 10 week old kitten when she was originally adopted by a young woman. She didn’t get along with this person so after lots of first aid & Band-Aids LUCY FUR #78175 was taken to a public shelter, which was known for euthanizing animals after a short time. Afraid that such a spirited little kitten would have a difficult time being adopted, this special dad adopted her. He’d been alone until Lucy came into his life & she knew she’d found the purrfect forever home with dadcat Mike. LUCY FUR #78175 & her dad were the best of friends for 15 years before her dad met his wife-to-be. He knew they’d all be a happy family when LUCY FUR #78175 accepted this “stranger” into their life. She was a healthy, happy kitty that brought joy, laughter & love to her family until the end of her time. On Aug 26, 2008 at 7:30am, this beautiful & independent spirit was called to the angels where she can watch over her human & kitty family throughout eternity. From Duckie’s Desk: Have you met Angel PK, #62764? Angel PK and his sister Gabby were rescued from a group of 30-40 cats and kittens. PK was always an active kitten but he did develop some health problems later in life, including a heart murmur. One day the vet told his Mom that PK might only have about six months to live, because of a condition known as CRF. PK surprised everyone by living another two years because of the wonderful care and love given him by his forever family. When PK felt he could go on no longer he said his goodbyes to his family knowing he would see them again one day.
Angel PK is a happy Angel and he would love to send his family the gift of his Cat Of The Day badge on Saturday, September 17th. From Duckie’s Desk: Have you met Angels Jezebel and Pierre, # 211705? Pierre and Jezebel are two of the happiest Angels at the Rainbow Bridge! They share a very strong bond which is that of having a very loving forever family. Angel Pierre was with his family for only six short months before crossing the Rainbow Bridge. A year after losing Pierre, my parents gave into my pleading for another cat. Dad knew of a woman who had taken in a mother and small kittens, abandoned in the snows of an Ontario winter. Just as the kittens were old enough to be without her, the mother had been killed on the road and the woman was looking for homes for the kittens. The rest was history. Jezebel had found her forever home. These two Angels love their family very much. They would love to send them a special gift of their Cat of the Day Badges. On Friday, August 26th. From Duckie’s Desk: Have you met Angel Scooter, # 194581? Angel Scooter is one of the happiest Angels at the Beautiful Rainbow Bridge. She has been here now for a year and has become a very active Angel. Scooter had a very short time with her forever family but it was a very happy one. She was rescued while only a small kitten from the median of a very busy road by her future Mom and she spent the rest of her time with her family returning the love that she had been shown. Angel Scooter has a loving family, many Angel friends and a beautiful home. One thing that she is missing is her Cat Of The Day badge that she would like to send to her family back home. A large welcoming committee was on hand on July 6th, to welcome Tigger, #82433, across the Rainbow Bridge. She has received her wings and golden halo and spent her first days here telling everyone about her family back home that she loves so very much. Tigger has been the guests of honor at several little get-togethers and is young and healthy again!

From Duckie’s Desk: Do you know Angel Frisky, # 100416? Sometimes an Angel’s story is best told in her own words. “Mom and I were together for over 15 years and she still misses me. I was her first cat and the love of mom's life. We had a bond so close it was unreal. I was feisty but loving, I loved to go outdoors to sit in the flower garden and look at the squirrels.”
“I once saved my own life, by pulling the leash out of mom's hand as we were being charged by a large dog, who wanted me for lunch. Yes, I was on a leash, the dog was not and I pulled that leash out of mom's hand and climbed a tree. Mom cherished the years we had together and will always love me.”

From Duckie’s Desk: When “Mother Nature” turns violent your “Little Angels” will be there! We have been watching over friends and family even more carefully the last two weeks and also helping doggies and kitties while they have been separated from their families in the south. If you hear a noise that sounds like a gentle breeze at night chances are these are the rustling of angel wings. We are on constant patrol watching over our friends and family.

Nice to see you again! I am stopping by on a mission today. I think it would be nice if a bunch of us Angels went South to Alabama{who was hardest hit by the recent tornadoes} and lend a helping paw...them poor people have lost their homes and such and we need to help them locate their lost pets. wanna come along?? Sure hope so, we will leave tomorrow morning!
After we are done in ALA, we will head to GA, Mississippi and TN to help there as well.

From Duckie’s Desk: Ahhh…….. Springtime is here and warmer weather is just around the corner. Easter is rapidly approaching and the Rainbow Bridge is simply breathtaking with all the flowers and trees in full bloom. Your Little Angels are always watching over our friends back home and we are always ready at a moments notice to come to the side of anyone in need!
Last week some confusion was caused when your Rainbow Bridge Scoop editor asked everyone to welcome a new Angel to Cat Channel. A campaign is planned in another week for this Angel. Watch for this coming soon.

Have you met Angel Poopie Pants, #197232? Fate brought Poopie Pants and his forever family together. He came into the Vet’s Office when he was hit by a car at 6 weeks of age. It was LOVE at first sight. Poopie Pants went to the Rainbow Bridge on August 26, 2010.

From Duckie’s Desk: Have you met Angel Poofy, #171275? Poofy’s forever family found him by a lake when they were on a family picnic. He was sickly and covered in grease. His family fell in love with him and he had found a home! He became an Angel Kitty on 3/16/10. Poofy was fighting a battle with cancer and sadly it finally won. Poofy had 12 1/2 wonderful years with his family! He is now watching over them when he is not playing with the other Angels. Poofy misses his family so much though, they took such good care of him and Poofy couldn't have found a more caring and loving family! Poofy crossed the Rainbow Bridge on March 16, 2010. From Duckie’s Desk: Have you met Angel Sir Lancelot, #196866? Lanci came to live with his forever Mom in November of 1982, when the country was in recession. She got him from a local vet. He was a sick little guy, but they took care of everything and he was fine from then on. He saved her life in a fire in 1992. He was so precious and got his Mommy through a tough divorce. He was a media darling - that is what Cat Lovers of America dubbed him in their March 1994 issue. Lancelot was a very spoiled "senior celebrity" kitty. In 1995, he was selected by Cat Fancy as one of the top 30 cats in the country, for their 30th anniversary issue in a photo contest, out of 1100 entries.
Lanci died on Valentine's Day 1996. Angel Sir Lancelot loves his family very much. He would love to send his family a special gift on Saturday. This gift is the gift of his Cat of the Day Badge that this loving Angel deserves so much! From Duckie’s Desk: Have you met Angel Toomey, #137163? Toomey had a special bond with his forever family! He was at the Humane Society where his future forever Mom worked. It took 6 months, but Toomey finally talked his Mom into taking him home with her. There was something about him that kept tugging at his future forever Mom’s heart and Toomey knew it before she did. He had been abandoned there in May 2008, so he had been there almost a year. Toomey was very happy with his family for the short time he spent with his “Special” Family! Toomey crossed the Rainbow Bridge on December 8th, 2009. Angel Toomey loves his family very much. He would love to send his family a special gift on Saturday. THE SCOOP...
This is a special day when “Lovers” throughout the world exchange tokens of affection with that special someone. Please show some special attention to your dear forever family that provides that warm bed, that great food and the soft brushing that feels so good! Also please remember the kittens and cats that are still waiting for that family to find them. Please also remember your Little Angels that are watching over our loved ones back home.
One “Special Angel” crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 2/14/96 and will be celebrating his 15th anniversary at our little home away from home. It was very hard for his mom, especially since it was Valentine's Day. Sir Lancelot #196866, never left the house, but he was quite famous at one time. He appeared in Cat Fancy! There were 1100 entries and 30 were chosen as winners of the photo/poem contest and Sir Lancelot was one of them. Another time he was in Cat Fancy back in 1994!

It is very special because the day before yesterday was the anniversary of my crossing to the Rainbow Bridge. It's hard to believe that I've been at the Rainbow Bridge for 9 years. Thank you so much for being a part of my special day. From Duckie’s Desk: Well, this is actually Angel Kay. Thank You so much for the many Cat of the Day votes and kind words last Friday during my ACOTD campaign. These are so important as the many Angels have sent this special gift home to our families that love us and miss us so much! Daddy Mike cried as he read all of the kind words you posted on my page as he recalled old friendships and the time he spent with each of his fur babies! From Duckie’s Desk: Have you met Angel Kay, #60171 ? Kay is Angel Duckie and Angel Rambo’s little sis and Angel “Larry’s” youngest child! One day a stray kitty appeared at her future forever home’s doorstep. She was hungry so after one box of cat food she had found a home. Three months later "Larry", as she was called, repaid her family’s kindness with three kittens, Duckie, Rambo and Kay. These three happy kittens lived full lives in their homes in Alabama. Kay was always a character with a wonderful personality! She joined her mother, sister and brother across the Rainbow Bridge at the age of 18 years on June 4th, 2008. Angel Kay loves her family very much. She would love to send her family a special gift on Saturday. This gift is the gift of her Cat of the Day Badge that this loving Angel deserves so much! From Duckies Desk: Have you met Angel O’Malley, #193697 ? O’Malley is a beautiful orange Kitty who has been at the Rainbow Bridge since April 21, 2010. O’Malley was born on St. Patrick’s Day, 1997, in a neighbor’s basement. His Mom was a feral cat. His future forever family was looking for an orange kitten and fell in love with him at first sight. Since he was born on St. Patrick’s Day they named him O'Malley. O’Malley had 13 wonderful years with his family. He fought Feline Vaccination Sarcoma when he was 5 years old and battled later on in life with hyperthyroidism and finally lymphoma. It was so hard to let him go but he told us when it was time. Christmas was one of his favorite holidays so it was very hard this year without him. Angel O’Malley loves his family very much. He would love to send his family a special gift on Saturday.
