59 ~ IT'S CATCH UP DAY ~ EUGENE, OREGON WEATHER REPORT: This morning the temperature is 50 with the humidity @ 100% & the wind is 0 MPH. Today's suppose to be Showers & High 52. We had a wonderful day with all of our furrriends who came to play and pawty! Mom also took 3 mew pictures of me yesterday and posted them to my gallery late last night plus she changed my profile picture! ~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~ Mom received a little desk top book called "Kitty Cat Chit Chat" and we will like to try to share things from it daily: (((Now to play catch ups with the Chit Chats! MOL!))) NOVEMBER 17th "We cats have been known to possess psychic and E.S.P. powers. It must be our purrying that does it. It's our form of mantra. Hi girls! Oh definitely, we are all most content to stay inside forever! Today we all sat in front of the living room window and watched dozens of birds out at the feeders and running around in the snow! The only one who was chattering at them was Mr. Sniff. The rest of us just watched for awhile and then yawned and went to sleep! Haha! I think we're becoming complacent! Sniff is only a little over a year old, so he still has that outside-type energy. In fact he's the only one who ever tries to get out, the idiot! He was so destructive a couple days ago he almost got his wish, too! He knocked over mom's big fruit basket in the kitchen which then knocked over a storage container with fish food pellets and little dog treats in it. All the noise from that scared Sissy who was eating at the time, and she panicked and spilled her whole bowl of dry food! It was a mess! Mom was VERY mad at Mr. Sniff and called him lots of nasty names! MOL! Expecting more freezing rain tonight, and then tomorrow the temperature is gonna shoot up into the high 40's and be windy! That's gonna melt all the snow TOO FAST and could cause some local flooding. Keep your paws crossed we don't get that! Purrs for tonight! Hope, Freedom, Amber, and Flag Here is a little-known story of survival from the World Trade Center tragedy: The World Trade Center recovery effort brought much sadness but there were also many tales of bravery and survival. They include one very resourceful cat. Beneath the destroyed area where the World Trade Center once stood, life was found in a forgotten basement. Rescuers discovered a blast survivor curled up in a carton of napkins. When the box was brought up, there were even more survivors - three kittens. A mother cat had found her way into a safe, secure area to give birth to her kittens in a box of napkins. Into the horror and chaos of destruction, this little cat brought the miracle of life. Rescuers felt these little survivors needed names. Momma has been christened "Hope", and the babies are "Freedom", "Amber" and "Flag." It's very fitting for a family determined to survive against the worst of odds. The entire family was healthy and well, and were eventually adopted into furever homes. Hi sisters! {:D We saw your new "baby" Twinkie, and she's a doll! It's really amazing that she fit in so easily to your family, but lucky, too. Ikey, you have a much more even moustache than I do. I look like I'm sneering or snarling or something! Yours is almost purrfect - I'm so jealous! Tehe! You having a nice weekend so far? Mom and dad are going shopping tomorrow. Mom made a big German chocolate cake today, and meatloaf and mashed potatoes for dinner. Then she put more stuffing in the dog's cushion, so she'd stay off ours! Hi Ikey and Mudgie! Really sorry to take SO long to reply to your pawsome blog! And I probably won't actually even answer all of it now! :( Your moustache isn't nearly as crooked as mine! MOL! I had my babies under the house next door to Mom and Dad. Someone dumped me out when I was pregnant, can you imagine! M & D say people do all kinds of mean things. So I was taking care of my babies, and mom saw me one day when she was outside pulling weeds. She just talked to me but never tried to touch me or catch me. She did that for a couple weeks. As soon as she knew I was out there, though, she started leaving food and water out for me. At first I was a little timid, but it really didn't take long before I would come right out when she came out back to fill up "my" dishes! MOL! She would always scrunch down and talk to me while I was eating but never tried to touch me, so I started to trust her even more. One day while I was eating she started to pet me really gently, and I let her! She only petted me a few times, not enough to aggravate me and make me move away. After that I let her pet me more and more until one day I let her pick me up. Dad wasn't happy about leaving me and my babies outside. By this time they were about 6 weeks old. So they brought us inside, and we've been here ever since. All except my little boy, Buster. He got stomatitis and had to have all his teeth removed, but he never healed and so had to keep getting shots of depomedrol. That eventually caused his kidneys to fail. Then he had to have even more kinds of medicine, but finally he became so weak and ill that it was time for him to leave us. Mom and dad brought him to our vet and she helped him cross the bridge. That was just this past March. He is on page 210737, with Louie. So I live here with my girls Molly and Smokey, and all the other kitties. We're pretty happy here. Sometimes I look out the window and think I might like to go outside again, but when I remember all the scary and dangerous stuff out there, I change my mind! I'm happy and content right here! {:D Hope you all have a safe and happy new year! I'll be by again - promise! Yesterday was our new addition's 1-WEEK anniversary of becoming an "INDOOR-ONLY" kitten, like the rest of us on our pages.(Some of you may know that our pawrents take care of 8 'fixed' ferals outside[all tame now & spoiled-of course]...all siblings but born @ different times of the year)<they're also Booboo & Fuzz's siblings as well!> They have 2 very large heated houses, heated water bowl for winter & an endless supply of food & love! Just like the rest of us!!! Anyway...there are 2 pix @ the bottom of my page from the very 1st day she was in the house(can you tell she fits in quite well?! MOL) Her name is "Twinky" since she’s the ‘colors of a Twinkie snack cake & is no bigger than one’ & mamma keeps saying that she’s so cute she ‘could just eat her up’! Our pawrents can say the strangest things, ya know? But, like the rest of us, has many nicknames as well(already), such as "Twinkles" for the time of year she was rescued, "Twink-twink", "Twinky-pie"...etc. I'm sure she'll have tons more as she grows up! She can't be more than 4-6 weeks old as per her tooth-growth & going by what the charts show. She is very small but she has a heart big enough to melt the Polar Ice-Cap!!! We all just love her to pieces & gets along with us all as if she has been here for years already!!! She just loves little Fuzz too & plays with him the most, probably since he’s the youngest & smallest of the rest of us! So as soon as mamma figures out what to do about not having enough room to put us all here (we’ve already joined the “siblings” together on 1 page), we’ll let ya know so you can give her the warm CC “welcomes” that can only come from the bestest kitties on the internet!!! Hi Ikey, Mudgie and all I apologize for being so unforgivably late in thanking you for my Happy Birthday wishes Feb. 16. Momma was sick in bed for 10 days, including our birthday; and just when she started feeling good, I got sick with my bladder troubles and ended up having unexpected bladder surgery to remove 6 stones April 5. Always something, right? We are each planning a PAWTY Friday night after my tummy stitches are removed. Hi Ike & Mudgie, and every kit! Oh, I've been in my furever home for 6 years, the tagline means that Momma and I are taking a long break from visits on CC. She can't sit long at the computer anymore because of a health problem, so we are only on CC a few minutes every couple weeks. And yes, she is an Avatar Junkie! I do have a big sis, My Baby page #92495, but she is not on CC much at all, because daddy helps her blog and he is almost always at work or sleeping!. I hope your Mom is adjusting all right, I know missing Onyxx is hard on all of you. Just let the memories of all the good times you shared for 16 years flow, and it will help ease the pain just a little, turning tears into smiles. My dog Onyxx has gone to the Rainbow Bridge Onyxx went to the Rainbow Bridge about a half an hour ago. She was a big dog who we rescued when she was very young, and is a Rotti/Sheppard mix. She started breathing strangely and my husband-being a Paramedic-said that she was getting ready to go, so I held her in my arms, caressed her head & face and told her to let go & don't fight it. She went quickly & peacefully and I'm so glad she went here @ home. I didn't want to have to put her through going out in this weather & having her be in strange surroundings. I miss her so much already! But at least she isn't suffering anymore & that is most important. She was never going to get better with the kind of issues she had with her hips & arthritis, but she had a strong heart & an even stronger will to live. I know my mother-in-law, who loved her to death, met her with her little doggie & led her to cross over so she wouldn't be alone. We had 16 wonderful years with her and I couldn't have created a better dog than she was. She put up with all of these kitties so well & never complained. I miss my big baby girl but I know I'll meet her again some day. I have a sister, Mudgie There wasn't room to post her pic! I'll have to try to get her to sit by me so my furmom can get a pic of us both together. We are inseperable!!! We have our own room with our adopted brother, Chumley. He's a piece of work, I'll tell ya! I swear he has a "stash" of catnip around here somewhere but isn't telling any of us about it! He always looks "stoned".
