Education: He can jump like no other cat in the house. From floor to countertop in a single bound. Plus he has "hang time" like basketball players. It's all quite useful while chasing his older brothers.
My favorite tricks and treats are: He does an excellent four paw jump. and No food treats. One treat would be a little cuddling when he's tired.
Where I hang out: Wherever mom and the guys are
My favorite grubs: Anything fishy but he'll eat chicken and beef on occasion.
My pet peeves: I don't think he has any
What I love about my owners: They adopted me!
My cat hobbies: Nap, play eat, repeat

How We Met
A stray cat was taken to our vet who asked us to foster him, but when it became apparent he was younger than we thought, the vet took him back and gave him formula and medication for several ailments. After 2 months, we got him back!

Hey Fender!
Glad you liked the three-toed tree toad! Today is Limerick Day but I decided to take a day off from literary efforts! :)
Happy Mother's Day to all the mom-types in your family! I hope you're all doing something special for mom today. We've all decided to just lay low, stay out of her hair, and let her relax. Are we thoughtful or what! :)
We've been having some hellacious weather the past week! It's been in the 90's every day, and dry! But last night some clouds moved over, like a blanket, so it stayed nice and warm all night - 66 - and got wonderfully humid. But no rain! Oh, this is the worst kind of weather! Just hot, humid, and stagnant. The forecast keeps saying we'll get some rain. Well, ANY TIME NOW would be really good! Mom has pretty much just barricaded herself in the house, except for really early in the morning, when she goes out and does her watering. Anybody have some rain they can spare? :)

Hey Everybody!
Remember me? It's Rocky! And today is International Tongue Twister day! Hooray! Last time, I gave you the one about where she sits, remember? This time I actually have a tongue twister poem. Yes, there are such things! Ready? Here goes:
The Two-Toed Tree Toad
A tree-toad loved a she-toad
Who lived up in a tree.
He was a two-toed tree-toad,
But a three-toed toad was she.
The two-toed tree-toad tried to win
The three-toed she-toad's heart,
For the two-toed tree-toad loved the ground
That the three-toed tree-toad trod.
But the two-toed tree-toad tried in vain;
He couldn't please her whim.
From her tree-toad bower,

The she-toad vetoed him.

Yes! We've read "The Silent Miaow" - a classic! Mom has it right here on her very book shelf! And another yes - you have to leave a review of the newest Joe Grey book with Rocky. We love that guy!
My oh my, I'm behind again! It's all mom's fault, her and her scatter-brain. Pieces everywhere! MOL! But the cold weather has a little to do with it, too. She's been busy baking, and so we get neglected. Boo-hoo.... Well, at least she made us a couple salmon patties while she was in the middle of her baking frenzy. So all wasn't lost. Except our blogging. That's WAY behind. *pout* Today she promised to try to catch up a little. We have our paws and whiskers crossed. Happy purrs

Boy, you aren't kidding about the impact of the lousy economy! So far we're still getting our usual kitty food, but we MIGHT get dropped down a notch if things don't improve soon.
Guess what. We had a scavenger hunt here last week to see who could find the most pieces of mom's brain. She's been really scatter-brained lately, so we decided we needed to do something about it.
Good mews, bad mews. We think we've found most of it, but we are having a dickens of a time putting it back together right. We seem to have accidentally put the "obsessive-compulsive organizing" section where the "rest and relaxation" section is supposed to go, and we can't find THAT part at all! So crazy mom spent most of yesterday rearranging the kitchen! Now we know how Frankenstein must have felt. How discouraging. *sigh*
I hope your weekend is going better than ours! MOL!

Oh, I'm sure sorry to hear your mom got pneumonia! Mom's had that, so she knows how painful it is. It took her a long time to get over it, too. Her foot is a little better, but it still hurts at the end of the day. *sigh*
Oh, indoor cats live a lot longer for sure! We just lost old Aurora in June, at 20 years old. And Ziggy is 17. I'm just a baby, so mom feels like she's saddled with me for quite a lot longer! MOL!
That outdoor facility you made for Kitty sounds great. We have an outdoor place for the ferals who come to visit. They can still come and go as they choose, though. But it' safe and dry and warm, with food and fresh water every day. Some days they visit, some days they don't. We only have one who hangs around right now. At one time we had as many as 10! They seem to show up more during the winter.
Mom has already started her fall baking. She made some cookies last weekend and made a big chocolate cake a few days ago. She still hasn't gotten into high gear yet. As soon as the weather is so awful that nothing can be done outside at all, that's when she really goes to town in the kitchen!

Mom says thanks for the foot advice. Her right foot is sometimes in excruciating pain! She does the exercise with the tennis ball (but - Bad Mom! - not every day), and she does have some pretty good inserts in all her shoes. She also does a stretching exercise to stretch that tendon. But - as I'm sure your mom will tell you - NOTHING gets rid of the pain completely. Sometimes it just goes away on its own for weeks or even months. What's up with that?
We are keeping our paws crossed that your little feral kitty will brave-up and start trusting your mom and dad. We all know it would be best for her, but she, poor thing, still only thinks people are mostly trouble. She's trying, by the sound of it. Don't give up! Happy Sunday evening. Purrs

Hi Fender!
I think it sounds like that feral kitty your mom is caring for has a nice deal! Free food and someone to care for her, and yet still having her freedom. But my mom says kitty freedom can sometimes be dangerous. Do you think that's true? I was rescued when I was a little tyke, and have always been inside, so I don't have much experience with that "freedom"!
Mom's sure glad we all made it through another week! She's been having excruciating pain in her right heel and back of her leg - plantar fasciitis. She has so much darn work to get done before fall really gets here, but she is going to try and relax today anyway - as much as it really annoys her to put anything off. The weather should be nice for another while longer, so she figures ONE day off her foot won't make that much difference in her "fall schedule"!
It seems like the smoke has dissipated a little around here, but we can still smell it, and mom still has her sore throat, and we still have the sniffles. It's been warmer now during the day, upper 70's here, but the nights are still cool.
One thing we like about the weather getting cooler is that mom will start doing a lot more cooking and baking. She makes entirely TOO MANY salads and sandwiches during the summer! MOL! Hope your mom is enjoying her Saturday. Purrs

Oh, you're welcome. I love anything fishy, and I especially love anything that's food! Probably explains why I weigh 22 pounds. And I've actually lost 2 pounds! :)
Oh, yup, BIG on Carole Nelson Douglas. I'm actually part of Rocky's extended family. We just didn't all fit on one account. Hope you're all having great week. You getting ready for fall? It's just about here where we are. In the 30's at night, but so far no freeze. When that happens it might as well be winter! Hhaaa!

Cute picture!! Oh, we know what it's like to have a lupuy mother, MOL! Just come on by when you can. That's great you have a feral that you feed. Mom has a feral outside as well and five that live in her office with her five fosters. Never a dull moment here! Hope you all are having a purrfect evening and your mom is feeling OK. Thanks for the input on the "Cat in the Stacks" series. I will definitely have mom check them out. It looks like there are three in the series now. Of course she has to start at the beginning ... MOL!
It seems mom wasted all her time in the yard. She got a sore back for nothing! She had some things started, mostly tomatoes and peppers, and they were up a couple inches, and then bam! We've had below freezing nights the last few nights and everything is wilted! She can NOT believe it! And get this. It was only 68* Thursday, it's supposed to be near 80* or in the low 80's today and tomorrow, and low 90's by Monday! Schizo weather, I tell ya!
Well, she doesn't need to be digging in the dirt out there anyway, I keep telling her. From what I understand they sell perfectly good tomatoes at something called a "store". SHE says they don't taste as good. Pfftt! Who cares? It's a t-o-m-a-t-o, for crying out loud. Oohh, she cooked us up a mess of chicken wings Thursday, too. Now THOSE are worth waiting for! Yum! (Don't worry, she takes all the bones out).
Mom's kids sent her a beautiful dozen roses and a box of chocolates from ProFlowers yesterday. She has the roses sitting on her computer desk (so we can't eat them. Is she no fun or what? Haha!) But she's being very self-controlled and is saving the chocolates until tomorrow. I can't believe it! She's a bona fide chocoholic! How can she stand it? I know I wouldn't be able to stand it if it was a box of chicken and turkey chunks! :)

ANDY AND ELLIE'S MORNING ADVENTURE!
A great big roach across the ceiling did come,
and up the curtain Andy did run!
A mid-air swipe and down it fell;
hit the floor running pell mell!
Andy and Ellie are on it in a flash,
but behind the waste can the roach did dash!
Round and round the cats did run,
chasing the roach and having SO much fun!
Under the rug it tried to escape,
little did it know that was a mistake!
Four taloned paws under the rug did search,
and the 'poor' little roach went plumb berserk!
A valiant run it made for the door,
but a quick paw-swipe pinned it flat to the floor!
A leap,a toss,a flip in the air...
~then CRUNCH!
It's ended-right then and there!

Important Information!
The Rules of Chocolate
If you get melted chocolate all over your hands, you're eating it too slowly.
Chocolate covered raisins, cherries, orange slices and strawberries all count as fruit, so eat as many as you want.
The problem: How to get two pounds of chocolate home from the store in a hot car.
The solution: Eat it in the parking lot.
Diet tip: Eat a chocolate bar before each meal.
It'll take the edge off your appetite and you'll eat less.
A nice box of chocolates can provide your total daily intake of calories in one place. Isn't that handy?
If you can't eat all your chocolate, it will keep in the freezer. But if you can't eat all your chocolate, what's wrong with you?
If calories are an issue, store your chocolate on top of the fridge. Calories are afraid of heights, and they will jump out of the chocolate to protect themselves.
Money talks. Chocolate sings.
Chocolate has many preservatives. Preservatives make you look younger.
Why is there no such organization as Chocoholics Anonymous?
Because no one wants to quit.
Put "eat chocolate" at the top of your list of things to do today. That way, at least you'll get one thing done.
Chocolate is a health food. Chocolate is derived from cacao beans. Bean = vegetable. Sugar is derived either from sugar beets or cane, both vegetables. And, of course, the milk/cream is dairy. So eat more chocolate to meet the dietary requirements for daily vegetable and dairy intake.

Wow, it's great to hear from you, buddy! And I like your new profile pic, too!
No, mom's never read any Clea Simon books. The name is only just familiar. But she's always looking for new books to read, since she's about done with all the other series. Well, not really true.
She's has nearly finished "The Cat Who" series, which truthfully, she has become rather unenthusiastic about. 'Nuff said. And she only has a couple Midnight Louie books to go. She has quite a few in the Mrs. Murphy and Joe Gray series left. She only reads one every couple weeks or so, that way she won't finish them all up and have nothing left! She loves the "feline mystery" genre.
Now, she knows there are others, but some only have a book or two in the "series". Is your mom familiar with the "Cat in the Stacks" series about a library cat named Diesel? The author is Miranda James. Mom hasn't found them anywhere. And she only knows of one book in the "series" - "Murder Past Due". If your mom knows of these books, let me know!
Give your mom some healing purrs from me, too. We can't have our moms being sick for so long! Stop by again soon!

Quick update
Hi everybody! Just a quickie for tonight since it's bedtime. We wanted to let you know that the feral cat who has adopted us as her human family who feds her (and has her spayed and given shots, and had her ear notched to show she is a feral cat for any calls from animal control.
Tell me. Who watched the Puppy Bowl with the Kitten Half-Time Show rather than the Super Bowl?? We did! It was a whole lot more fun.
Well lots more to report but over the next few days please. It's late and mom's not feelings too well and rest is what she needs.

Hi Fender!
Sorry about being so scarce again. Mom has kinda fallen out of blogging mode! The weather has been pretty nice this week and she's been spending more of her spare time outside. And she's also been on a kind of baking kick, too! Yum! But our blogs are falling behind. We are hoping the weather will be awful this weekend so she'll get back to the important stuff - like blogging!
That's actually about all the news right now - mom has been out doing some pre-spring yard prepping! :( MOL!

Glad to hear from you. Something strange, your message seemed to go POOF! Right at the very end. Hey Guy our weather today was 50°, and mom says the groundhog is coming this weekend. Thanks for writing. It was great to hear that you are all OK. It will be interesting for you to keep us all up to date on that feral kitty. I think your mom might just keep taking it slow, and it will happen. My mom fed me and my furmom for 8 months.

We haven't forgotten you
I just finished writing a long note to everyone, and poof, it was gone and I was on some other website. Damn (pardon me).
I've been chosen as spokescat for the Fab 4 right now to let you know that we're OK, but our mum has been terribly busy. The most demanding factor has been a little feral cat named Miss Kitty in the heat of the moment to call her something.
She decided to start living in our garage. We thought she might have kittens, so set up a couple of cozy boxes and towels and blankets and shredded paper and such for her to use. She decided to hide out in the back of mum's 1997 Corvette with the dead battery so we can't pop the batch hatch which is where Miss Kitty is living. We're leaving the car door open for her, but it closed on her one day, with her inside, and we didn't know what had happened until by chance we opened the door and out she came. She was hungry and needed the litter box badly, tho i'm sure there are some accidents inside the car. She's been pretty good about using the litter box once we provided it on her second day. Man, she can fill that box fast!
Well, mom has been feeding Miss Kitty once a day outside for months, so when she moved into the garage, she didn't want to kick her out. I think we've finally given up on the idea of kittens, because none have appeared or made a sound or are living any place we've looked.
So now we have a call into an animal rescue place who is going to call a lady who traps cats in our neighborhood/area. I guess she takes them to be neutered or spayed and then they return them to where they were found. Mom's glad they won't euthanize her (whatever that means, I don't know), but that leaves us with the problem of do we or don't we still feed her and do we let her into the garage? We'll have some questions for the rescue lady. While Miss Kitty won't be friendly with mom exactly, she does meow for company if it's been too long or for food. That upsets every one of us, mostly mum. If Miss Kitty would just show herself when she does meow so she and mum could talk and get closer, it might be a bit better, but she mews and still hides. Mom caught her twice - not physically but with her eyes which then stops Kitty in her tracks and then they do talk. Mum even got her iPhone out and used it to take her photo. That was good thinking but man, she pickd catoflauge to be in. She spotty black and white and she was stading on a black and white checkered floor!
All of this has added stress onto our mum which has made her arthritis much, much worse. Her fingers hurt so bad it's hard to type. Her feet are swollen big time. She even dislocated her jaw twice this past week during her sleep!! I just try to look after her and stay with her and she says I'm the best and a good boy, so I do it even more.
So that's an update on us for now. Sorry we haven't been here to vote on the wonderful kitties for COTD and so on. My apologies most of all. But we'll be back once muCome visit me, Angel Big Block 179015, Zora 178694, Miss Snot 250706, Stache 178693, Fender COTD 11/17/11 193188 & Goodrich 178692.

Vote Joseph #221080 on Monday Jan 16th for COTD
Today we would like you to meet and vote for a special boy named Joseph #221080. Joseph and his brother, Adam, were part of the last litter from Mama Stormy. They both made their debut a few weeks after they were born and at that point their human mommy didn’t realize little Joseph #221080 was partially blind until he jumped out of the top of a tree and she realized he was without depth perception. Joseph’s sense of smell, touch and hearing are exceptional and more than make up for his lack of good eyesight. This handicap hasn’t slowed Joseph down in the least, as one day his human mommy found little Joseph in the neighbor’s ditch after he wandered off on his own. Now Joseph #221080 sticks close to home and is happy and content.
Joseph #221080 discovered the windows of his home and looking in, found a playmate in his furry sister, Trixie. Joseph gets to come inside daily and have play sessions with Trixie and he adores her. They spend many hours together and Joseph #221080 is working on his daddy’s heart by purring and being adorable to get his daddy to allow him to be inside all the time so he can play and cuddle with his best friend. When Joseph #221080 is not turning on the charm for his daddy, he spends time on the front porch unless his mommy is outside. When Joseph #221080 knows she is outside, he is her little shadow, happily following his human mom around while she is doing chores.

Hi Fender,
This week,I would like for you to meet my sister Gypsy! She was found by our Dad on 6/1/10,as he was cutting off a water meter. She came running up to him,crying and telling him to take her home with him. Dad knew she had been left behind when her people moved. When Dad got off work,he and Mom came back with a carrier and brought her to her new forever home! Mom figured she was only about 5 to 6 months old,which puts her around two now. Dad named her Gypsy,because years ago,real Gypsies used to camp where she was found! Gypsy is a shy,sweet little girl with velvet soft black fur.She prefers to stay indoors,but will occasionally go out in the cat enclosure. Mostly,she is happy to be by herself,and will amuse herself with a toy mousie. However,don't let this 'quite' girl fool you! She has been known to playfully 'attack' her sibs and then tear off running for a rowdy game of tag!! Although not a lap cat,she does like being close to Mom and Dad in the evenings-either in her plush red bed at Mom's end of the sofa,or on the sofa arm by Dad. Gypsy also has a very plaintive meow,that ends on a higher note with a ? sound at the end,and combined with her natural pitiful look,she makes Mom and Dad want to give her whatever she wants....Hummmm,I may have to learn how she does that,mol!! Gypsy is the most gentle,loving and sweet kitty and gets along well with all of us here and causes no trouble! Mom and Dad are very happy they rescued this precious girl! Hi Fender!
I hope the New Year brings health and happiness to you all-with plenty of catnip and treats too!..... Today I am going to introduce you to brother Levi! He is a handsome long-haired multi-colored kitty. He was found on 9/28/09 all alone,at two week old,in a wooden pallet at a recycling center. As the pallet came from where mom works,the lady called mom, and she stopped by after work and picked him up. Mom had to bottle feed him,and of course,big brother Dixon quickly stepped in and took over the potty stimulating and cleaning! As the kitten got older,there seemed to be an issue with his eyes,and mom and dad were not sure if he could see,as the little fellow kept running into everything! Because of this,they decided he would NOT be up for adoption. Turned out his eyes are fine-he just does not like bright lights,and as a result mom can't get a good picture of his beautiful aqua eyes! Mom called the kitten 'Spud' for a long time,as that is what popped into her head at the time. Dad wanted him to have a Bible name,so mom made a list,showed it to dad and he picked LEVI! Better than Spud,huh? That is now his 'nickname'. Levi has never outgrown his need to suckle and will nurse on anyone's hand that will let him. He is not choosy! He is a jealous boy,and will get mad at mom if there is another kitty in her lap when he wants to be there! The only exception to that is Dixon. Those two will pile up together in mom's lap,as they bonded early on and still are to this day! Levi is always welcome in the house,but prefers to spend his days out in the cat enclosure,where he reigns as Top Cat!!...NOTE: Mom used to have some really good baby pics,but a computer virus ate them!~Hope you enjoyed meeting,spoiled,handsome,babyish Levi!Come visit me, My Avatars, Bart & The Outside Boys, Charlie ♥ Raven.......The Enclosure Boys & Gypsy & The Inside Cats.

I am so honored to be appointed to serve as your Queen of January! What an exciting day I had yesterday, and you, precious kitties and pawrents, made it possible with your loving support! I was so surprised to see that I also had been awarded a beautiful new riibbon for CROTD! Thank you each and every one for all of the wonderful notes of Congratulations and gifts that you have sent to me! I have almost recovered from all of the excitement of the Coronation ceremony and celebrations that followed, and now I am getting settled into my royal office!
My secretary is preparing an announcement that will contain the names of kitties, pawrents, and friends who have a Name Day to celebrate this month! What is Name Day, you may ask! It’s an old European tradition, and has now been embraced in The U.S.& Canada! In some countries, such as Greece, name day is more important than birthday. The European Calendar assigns first names to one day, based on religious traditions, to honor the names of Saints, or to honor the name of a famous person.
The American Calendar has been designed so that the most popular names in the U.S. and Canada are placed on days of remembrance, to honor our Presidents by using their birthdays and other historical facts, as well as other criteria. It’s like having a second birthday celebration, except that everyone with that name celebrates Name Day together!
Our CC community is a wonderful, caring and compassionate family that comes together to give comfort and hope to pawrents whose kitties are sick and to help them when they face heartbreaking news. We also wrap our arms around pawrents who have their own health issues and need a healing touch. I consider it a priviledge to be a part of this very special family and to join with you in prayer for all those in need.

Hi everybody. I know we said we weren't going to be at the Cat Channel for a couple of weeks, and our mom still needs recuperative time. However, she and Mrs. Carole Nelson Douglas corresponded over the holidays, and she asked if I could deliver this message to all of you from Midnight Louie the Third:
"Naturally, I am thrilled about Fender's honor on CatChannel.com, which reflects well on all of us of the ebony coat persuasion. Before I began my literary career, I was a gentleman of the road and facing a quick trip to the Palo Alto pound, had a kind-hearted woman not flown me to safety out of state. My Miss Carole now has a Humane Society kitten, Midnight Louie III, who looks like a soul brother of fender. Long may they bounce and pounce!"

Christmas was pretty barron for us. A few catnip sacks and balls in our stockingsl. A couple of female cats sent us a box of balls all individually wrapped with a book called Letters to Santa. We relaxed with mom and day all day. Just like we'lll do tonight again.
