How We Met
I have been friends with my Vet for years. Tunie came in to the Vet at 6 weeks old from a real bad fire. Did not know if she would live. Yes she was a true survivor. She lost a lot of her ears as you can see, some of her toes, her pads on her feet, her tail ( about 2 in ), her whisker and all of her fur, most of that came back but not on her face and her eyes are not good. She had a lot of Surgery. She was at the Vet for 4 months and a lot of TLC. She was going to need a special home so I said I would take her.

May 6, 2013--- Guess its about time!
Good Monday Morning! Have a super day! We want to apologize that it has been forever since we did a good round of blogging on CC. Now we are doing a c/p and do have to apologize to you. We are well and have told a few friends that mom is planning a big trip to visit family in Norway this summer. Also, a cousin from Norway will be returning here for a visit after. Mom has to do some painting and work on the house too or arrange for it to be done. Kitty care and a house-sitter is arranged. Doggy care is in the works. Mom got her e-ticket and her Passport came Saturday.
We also feel guilty that K.Barney did promise continued stories time to time and so far we have not! Well, we do have one for today, but will have to keep it short. Not a story mom is too proud of, because she should have listened to Angel Pasha, who you met during our Catpaign. One summer night he bit her arm to wake her out of a sound sleep and then ran to the window. To mom's credit she looked out, but did not see anything, so chased Pasha from their room. He tried to protest and kept running to the window, but mom still did not see anything and did not investigate further. Well, she did lean her lesson----- in the morning she talked to her neighbor and found out he had been gone that night and his house was robbed! Mom felt so guilty that she had not done more, but she was so tired and did not see or hear anything from where she was. She sure learned that cats may have more of a sense when something is wrong than most humans realize. VOTE WINDY POINT ANGELS # 237234 COTD 4/5
As many of you know, 17 year old Minnie D Purrl crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Tuesday 4/2. Minnie was a member of a wonderful family of cats known as the Windy Point Gang.
We’re choosing to copy Dad Mike’s exact words that he used to tell us she had crossed--
“She was losing her battle with Hyperthyroidism and her quality of life had decreased dramatically over the last five days. This afternoon Minnie was assisted by our vet, Dr Madsen and myself on her journey. She was 17 years old when she passed.
It is particularly sad for me because Minnie had given me a litter of seven Easter Kitties when she was only 9 months old. I always celebrated Mother's Day with her on Easter. (Sigh...) This year we celebrated with some baby food that I held for her since she was too weak to stand and eat.
Minnie leaves behind her boyfriend Tiger Mann, who is the last of the original Windy Pointers...and of course, her sad Dad.”
Minnie is now a member of the Windy Point Angels #237234, those members of the Windy Point Gang who are now Angels at the Rainbow Bridge. We learned that this special group of Angels has never received their COTD badge, and we want to change that by making them our COTD winner on 4/6. A Powerful Rumble Fills The Air
Is it an Earthquake? Is it Thunder? No it’s none of those things. It’s the powerful rumbling sound of ten beautifully painted Harley motorcycles, cruising down the street they’re all heading for Tunie’s driveway and pulling in to share COTD Wishes with their friends.
The helmets come off to reveal Zoe Monique, Cyndee, Mallow, Q. Lola, Ammie, Dasher, Talley, Thundie, Kali and Elvis, all of the Hairballz Rainbow Riders.
On the back of the bikes are flags representing their two lost honorary members, Doodlebug and Yum Yum
they all dismount and in turn, they present Tunie with treats flowers and a big box of kitty safe chocolates. Talley and Dasher unfurl a big tapestry with a full color picture of the COTD badge embroidered on it, and the words “Tunie, Our COTD” emblazoned on it. After an enthusiastic toast with sparkling catnip bubbly (non-alcoholic of course) they all exchange hugs & purrs with sweet Tunie and get back on their bikes to head out to their next destination for the day.

How wonderful ...
... to see you in the COTD picture today! Concatulations! We've missed you and hope you are back in touch to stay. Dropping off some tuna treats I baked myself, a big catnip plant, and a HUGE balloon with your name and picture on it.
At our house, Mom figured out I am probably diabetic and changed my food. I am doing much better since then. Then our Jeep died. An only car, it meant Mom and Dad had to pick a car out quick; they think they got a good one. It's only until they can get the new one that will come out in a few months. THEN Mom's computer gave up the ghost. She needed a new hard drive and has finally gotten almost everything set the way she likes it. AFTER THAT the water line to the upstairs toilet began to leak. Floor and ceiling and wall section had to be cut out and huge fans were blowing 24/7 for a week. After that, things were patched up. Then the painter came. That was another big job. All the furnishings from the family room/kitchen and from part of the master suite had to be stashed wherever Mom could find an inch of space to put it. She then covered everything with sheets to keep the ceiling texturizer and the paint from getting on anything. Unfortunately, she did not realize the need for that until after a bunch of stuff had texturizing speckles covering them. Sigh. She spent hours scraping and washing, but finally everything is cleaned up. The work has been completed, except we need a toilet for the MBR, but Mom and Dad are working hard to get this all behind us at last.
Isn't life fun sometimes?
