How We Met
Pumpkin was a stray (about 6 months old). She wandered into our yard on Halloween when the boys were setting up a display. She returned the next day and my son was giving her a bowl of milk in the garage. She has never left since!

Hello Pumpkin
What’s mew with you? I have WONDERFUL mews!!!! Dr. William called - my T4 by equilibrium dialysis thyroid test was NEGATIVE!!!! Thankfully that means I do not have hyperthyroidism.
I have decided that I really do not like to eat the Prescription Diet k/d canned food. I will eat the k/d dry but not the canned food. So Mommy has been busy researching other canned foods with low protein (less than 10%) for me. The crazy woman is also studying our food labels. Do I read the labels on all that junk SHE eats???
Tonight is my last dose of that nasty Clavamox for the UTI. After I have been off it for four days, Mommy will take my urine sample to Dr. William to be rechecked. Hopefully the UTI will be all gone.
Mommy & Nana have a meeting scheduled with Dr. William @ 9 a.m. this Caturday as they have a growing list of questions & concerns. Poor Doc! You would think they love me or something!!!

Hello Pumpkin
How are you? Yesterday I visited Dr. William for my annual checkup, blood work (CBC, 6-panel, T3 & T4), shots and 3-month Schirmer eye test. First the good news – my eyes are doing well.
Mommy’s intuition told her something was going on with me, so now the not-so-good mews. I am in the very early stages of kidney disease:
My BUN level = 38 (normal is 16-36)
My Creatinine = 2.6 (normal is .8-2.4)
Dr. William says we caught this early. For now, we are going to treat it by changing my diet to Prescription Diet k/d. So far, I am eating both the k/d canned and the k/d dry food. We will recheck my levels in 3 months.
I also have a UTI, so I am taking Clavamox, the wonder drug. My thyroid level (T4) is in the “grey area” so Dr. William sent some of my blood to Texas A&M so they can run a test called T4 by Equilibrium Dialysis. We should receive those results next week.
As you can imagine, Mommy is very upset, stressed, & worried about me. Please keep us in your prayers.

Hello pretty Pumpkin
What’s purring with you? It is a chilly, rainy, & windy day here in southwest Mississippi. Our high temp is only 54 and tonight 39 degrees. Brrrr! That is very cold for us especially in May. Such strange weather we all are having this year.
Did you know that we kitties have lots to celebrate in May? It is Be Kind to Animals Month, National Pet Month, and May 30th is National Hug Your Cat Day. Also Sissy and my birthdays are also in May. So. . . let’s get this pawty started!

Neelix is a very handsome seven year old tabby who was rescued along with his brother when he was a tiny kitten abandoned in a parking lot. Since that tiny kitten was adopted by his loving pawrents he has trained them to be excellent staff for himself and his brothers. Regarding his brothers, Hedley and Jakar, the three of them comprise the famous (or perhaps infamous) “pawty animals”. These boys are always the life of any party, they create lots of fun at every MHL Mouse Hockey Game, and they are always the first to lend a paw on any project that benefits the CC community. They’re always there to offer comfort to the sad, good thoughts and healing wishes to the sick and congratulations to those who are celebrating. Neelix and his family always support the COTD and COTM candidates. They are a credit to the CC community!
Neelix is an outstanding member of our CC family, and since both of his brothers already have their very own COTD badges, it seems that it is time for Neelix to have one of his own. Won’t you please drop by and give this handsome guy a vote, on Monday so he can have the badge he so much deserves.

~Mid-week meow from the NICE Crew~
Long time, no meow sweet kitties! Mom has been busy with some projects lately so haven't had much blogging time. Hoping that you're all doing well.
I often wondered what could be more fun than a barrel of monkeys & today I found it is HAS to be making my little sisters run in fear...MOL! They were romping & running like they do every day but today they made the mistake of tromping right across ME when I was cleaning myself. I jumped up & went in hot pursuit, not caring which one I got to first. Our paws of justice (Patches) was standing in my way meowing "hold on there Mr Boo" but I wasn't hearing any of it...MOL! I raised my paw to her & she got this shocked look on her face & stepped to the side to let me pass without incident. My hunt for the two maniacs took me into the bedroom, where they'd both taken refuge under the bed, so I sat on the floor & waited...& waited. They wouldn't come out & I didn't have all day to wait so I decided to go over to their food dishes to eat as a way to lure them into the open. Hmmm...they didn't fall for that one either. One last long glare under the bed later I decided to give it up & take a nap. Out to the rocking chair in the living room I went & as soon as I was almost asleep a calico kissing monster snuggles in beside me. Darn...I can't stay mad when she does that...MOL! The white whirlwind also gave me a kiss on the nose but she didn't stick around for a nap. Guess she still had too much energy left because she took off at top speed toward the back of the house. They might be monsters but they're MY monsters(MOL) & I know they love me just as much as I do them. I just wish they'd look before they leap a little more often. Well I've got to go because I see that mom has crackers with ring bologna & cheese for her lunch & maybe I can give her that pleading look so I can get a nibble of the meat...MOL! ~Fluffiella waves good-bye to November~
Well this is it sweet kitties! It's the last time you'll hear from me for a little while so that my sis Trixie can take over the family blogging for the month of December. I've had loads of fun playing with all of you this month & wish it wouldn't have to end but I'm learning to share & won't meow a single complaint to show you how grown up I'm getting...but don't be surprised if you see me pouting just a wee bit...MOL! Zaboo has meowed that he'll continue visiting the birthday & adoptiversary kitties during December because Patches will be busy baking up goodies for everyone. Angel Sherman will take over for Angel Cloudy to visit special angels or kitties in need of angel intervention (that's a big word for me...MOL). I've been busy making something for all of you so my final act as the family blogger for November will be to drop a purrsonally decorated Christmas stocking by your dishes. Inside you'll find a vote & a catnip candy cane. When you get them out you can hang the stocking by your fireplace, or any other place you choose, so you'll remember the little white whirlwind that blew through your pages to pounce on you. I'll be back when my turn comes around again though & I'm sure Trixie will keep you updated on my daily antics, especially since most of them involve her too...MOL! I guess I'd better go now so you don't see me cry because I'll miss you so much. ~Pouncing by at top speed~
Mom tells me I've only got 2 more days (counting today) to do the family blogging. This makes me sad because I've had loads of fun with all of you & wish it could go on furever. Unfortunately I have other siblings to share the time with so I'll send out my final farewell tomorrow, but today I'm still running the show so...tag, you're it...MOL!
Queen Lily told us all to run, run, run, as fast as we can so that's what I've been doing all day so far! I'm still going too but I've worn Trixie out & she's napping in the rocking chair beside the computer desk. Patches even joined in the fun for a little while earlier but I can't get laid back Zaboo to chase me. I've tried everything I know but have only succeeded one time getting him riled enough to chase me since I moved inside. There has to be some way to motivate him to be less dignified & more carefree but I'm at a loss on how to do it. He's so stubborn he won't even move for the dog! Guess he knows he's the king of the house but even kings should have fun once in a while! Well I've got to run, run, run again (MOL) because I can't sit still for too long.

~I'm happily pouncing on everyone today~
And I'm enjoying every minute of it...MOL! I'm famous for grabbing swishing tails & if you move I might just tackle you. Mom says I'm a great match for keeping up with our calico cyclone Trixie, but I think I can outdo her antics tenfold! Nothing is safe from my pounce attacks, including people...MOL! I'm not mean but I put the energizer bunny to shame with my energy levels & I don't give up easily either. So far today (& remember it's still fairly early) I've gotten in trouble for attacking the blinds, dumping a water dish,hissing at Joseph when he came in (I do that daily...MOL) & accidentally unplugging the living room TV. I've also pounced on Patches & made her run with me, pounced on Zaboo & got flipped, & had a wonderful boxing match with Trixie. Right now Trixie & I are racing through the house at top speed & jumping across the furniture. She's still faster then me but I can jump just as high & am more stubborn about giving up...MOL! Well got to go so I can see where she disappeared to & start some more chaos.

Observing the heavens
The Leonids generally begin on November 13 and end on November 21, with maximum generally occurring during the night of Novemer 17/18. It's so nice to meet all of you and thanks so much for the congratulations on my COTD badge. I feel very honored! All of the angels here at RB helped me celebrate and we had lots of fun. Mom is very proud of me and was both sad and happy as she thought about me today. She misses me a lot!
