of the day and it was saved especially for all of you down in ba! we're having some delightful weather highs into the 70s most days and nights still chilly upper 30s and lower to mid 40s. still haven't had much if any rainfall and are hoping for wed/thurs this week and maybe sunday which is mom's day here...janet will be working as usual and no more sundays off till vacation the last week in june as she wrote to your mom yesterday and said that she was adding on and paid for another day too! just has to send out a seed order better late than never that's for sure! 85 on friday here if you can believe that? sandy,ana,haley,angels

the mail just came and janet's got
a letter from a friend in slovakia as she went to machu pechu, in peru and it was so fasinating. then all the bad events going on here this week, one of the marathon bombers was killed yesterday in a shootout after robbing a 7-11 store and the other on the run till a lady noticed that there was a trail of blood leading to their boat and now it's unuseable due to it being shot up after the other bomber hid there till he gave up after one final fire fight last night just before janet went to bed. janet got up well rested as she was out the minute her head hit the pillow around 9:30 last night till 5:15 when she got up this morning to walk, but it was still raining. she's got cooking to do now too more of her grandmothers recipes she told janet to copy down before she died of cancer back in the early 80s. sandy, ana,haley, angels

Mommy says she is afraid this is going to be a C&P. She wants to thank everyone for all the cards and prayers she received over the last 2 weeks. It has meant a lot to her. Yesterday she saw radiologist and they are now ready to contact insu. co to get permission to start radiation. They said it would probably be next week before they get permission. Each radioactive injection is over $2000 so they then have to order the injections. Mom will find out next week when they get permission when they are starting. In the meantime they said mom can return to work until the injections start.
So we get to love and comfort mom while she is home. TIMMY

janet to wake him up for 5 this morning as he's got a 9am appt. like nat does at the dr's office and then they have to take mommy to pt this afternoon earlier on than two days ago when janet had to do it! janet got most of the things minus the weeding done yesterday and it was like a cyclone had torn through the place as things were flying around here and finally just after suppertime the last walk of the day and janet had finished everything online just around 7. getting colder here too after 3 days of 70s down to 60s tomorrow and low 50s with rain friday and maybe some 40s and kitchen sink stuff mixing in. sure hoping not it would destroy janet's garden. sandy,ana,haley,angels

Happy Tuesday & thanks for stopping by the Imperial Cabin! Okay kitties…today we’re touring my home state a little bit & taking a trip to Michigan City, IN to see the OLD LIGHTHOUSE MUSEUM! At the bend of Trail Creek in the Michigan City harbor stands an historic old structure whose beacon served as a guiding light for Great Lakes sailors for more than 100 years. Michigan City's well-lighted port has a long and interesting history, bound to Lake Michigan with all its mysteries and beauties. Michigan City's first light was a simple "postlight"( lantern on a tall pole) located approximately 100 feet west of the present lighthouse. In 1837, Jeremy Hixon, Sr. and his son were contracted by the U.S. Government to build a permanent lighthouse in Michigan City. That structure consisted of a keeper's dwelling with a 40 foot high whitewashed tower topped with a lantern to house the light. As shipping in Michigan City increased, primarily grain and lumber, a brighter light was needed to guide ships into the busy port. In 1858, the U.S. Government constructed a lighthouse using Joliet stone for the foundation and Milwaukee or "Cream City" bricks for the superstructure. On November 20, 1871, the first beacon light was installed on the east pier. (http://www.oldlighthousemuseum.org)
The Old Lighthouse Museum opened officially on June 9, 1973 & has guided tours Tues-Sun from 1-4pm so that’s where we’re going today kitties! I’d originally planned to meow to you about another of our CC furiends while we’re traveling on the Cyclone Express bus today but I’ll do that on Thursday instead since this article about my home state caught my eye this morning.

~Dachshund Adopts Abandoned Kittens~
In a story originally shared by Fox 59 in Indianapolis, four kittens were born on the front porch of a local couple, right before an early spring blizzard brought more than nine inches of snow to the area. The couple found the kittens alone and brought them inside to care for them. Little did they know it would be their Dachshund, JOJO, who would do much of the caretaking! The dog immediately took over mothering duties, including producing milk to nurse the kittens. The couple told Fox 59 that JoJo “acts as if she birthed them herself.” The kittens, who are all boys, are named Poseidon, Hephaestus, Pan and Zephyr, also known as the “blizzard kittens.” They’ll be available for adoption when they’re old enough.

Now that’s another true awww moment! They have their own FB page but for those that don’t go there I’ve also posted pics in my gallery so you can also get that warm fuzzy feeling from seeing this pawtastic doggie with her ‘kitty pups’. This family gets the Calico award of excellence for cuteness!

how about big batches of birdies as not all are back here yet due to our ever changing weather patterns more like late winter and early spring the past 2-3 weeks and now more like spring thank god! but not going to last past tomorrow back to 50s and 60s which isn't to bad, but just so so and beats the 40s we had once the past 2 weeks each. janet got woken up around 4 by a crack of thunder and then was able to go back to sleep till around 5:15 watched tv for a little while got up and walked after taking pepper out. she's got her garden started and yesterday bought some broccoli, onions, and leeks to be planted she hopes today after she gets in from her dr's appt. for hbp/cholesterol check this morning in almost an hour from now then to the bank so she can have a check made out to pay her car insurance as she did file the form so she fight the surcharge which is $50 to the state insurance board...as if they already don't get enough more than other depts in the state! well onto the next entry. sandy,ana,haley,angels

Hello Willow & Charlie & the BA kitties
Hope all is well with you my furiend. Sorry to have missed your Purrday & COTD celebration but here we are today greeting you all the very best to a most wonderful furmily! It will be a busy month for us as the move will be in about two weeks, Grandma's sister arrived Easter and will be staying with us for some time, Mom & Dad will be going out of town by month end to attend Uncle Patrick's wedding plus kitty issues occurring with Bait over grooming himself & irritating his skin and gum problems for both Yak and Bait. Mom has also been cleared today for surgery as her sinuses have improved in time by medication.

As for me, I am doing fine, still the same sweet and good natured boy as usual. However, Mom is worried about the move on how we will adapt but so far with some furnitures gone in our old home, Mom does not sense any anxiety issue so far. Paws crossed we do hope all will be doing well.

You are always in our thoughts and we keep you all in our prayers for safety & good health!

Wake up sweet kitties because the sun is coming up & Zaboo has the bus warmed up for everyone since it’s still rather chilly here in the woods. It’s supposed to warm up to the mid-60s today with some windy conditions, but hopefully we’ll be able to shed our jackets as we head south toward the center of my home state to visit the smaller than you’re used to, yet very nice & extremely friendly, INDIANAPOLIS CHILDRENS’ ZOO! (http://www.indyzoo.com) I was going to take you to the Ft. Wayne zoo since it’s closer to my cabin but found out their official opening day isn’t until the 20th. You’d think that getting a request from a queen would prompt them to open early but no such luck! Hmmm…guess they don’t take orders well from animals…MOL! Well off we go kitties!! Anyone not awake in time to catch the bus will be stuck gathering firewood for our bonfire tonight so you’d better get your paws pouncing because Zaboo is revving the engine & is ready to go! We live in Santa Cruz, CA, on the CA Coast 75 miles South of San Francisco and would like to be your friends. We live just on the edge of the city, near a big gully that comes down from the Santa Cruz Mountains. Our Mom is our warden, keeps us indoors, as we have lots of wildlife outside. Mom doesn’t mind the deer, skunks (except for the smell - pee-U!) or ‘possum, doesn't want a raccoon, fox or coyote to snack on us. We tend to agree!

Maggie is all black and her son Yogi is all grey. Tipper is a pretty grey & white Tuxedo Kitty. Maggie has received COTD honors. Tipper & Yogi are now hoping that we’ll be COTD some day, just like you, Super Kitty!!

Day 3
Thank you for supporting me and pushing my votey button. I appreciate you stopping by to visit me. Thank you for putting me in your taglines too.
My first show was only 45 minutes away. I went to the groomer and was very good for Miss Bobbi. She gave me a bath and did my nails two days before the show.
Mom had to go and get a couple yards of material for my curtains and she was a yard short. MOL I have a benching cage I stay in while waiting to be judge. I need my curtains up so we don’t see the other kitties. I have a litter box that I don’t use, mom has food and water for me that I don’t eat or drink and my kitty bed with some toys. I do lay in my kitty bed. Don’t worry, it is normal for some kitties not to use the litter box, eat or drink during the show. Only my furriends that have been going to shows for years and to most of the shows eat and use the litter box. I do love my benching cage. When mom gets it ready then takes me out I jump into my cage. It’s safe in there. I also have another cage, it’s called the judges cage. It’s up by the judge. Mom has to listen for them to call the household pets and my number. I then go and get in the cage with my number on top and wait for the judge to get me out. Mom was nervous how I would react to my first judge but I just let him hold me and look at me. Mom didn’t get a picture because she was watching to make sure I didn’t take off. MOL
I was real nervous. The Del Mar show is very loud and there are so many people there to watch us. Yes, most of the people watch the Household pets. We always have the largest crowds watching us. Each judge is different. Household Pets do not have standards like the pure breeds. We do have to be at least 4 months old, not declawed, in good health with no evidence of fleas, ear mites, etc. Cats 8 months of age or older must be spayed/neutered. Nails should be clipped on all four paws before leaving for the show. HHP’s are judged on condition (general good health), uniqueness, temperament, and grooming. Most people bathe their pet one to two days before the show. The judges loved the household pets because it’s judges choice on who wins. I have one judge that has given me a rosette twice. He always says he picks the cats he would like to take home. I guess I’m real special. MOL

Congratulations to my handsome black and white friends. Can I tell you a secret? Mom says she LOVES black and white kitties. Maybe it is because her very first cat that she can remember as a little girl was a black and white kitty named "Rascal". I think I'm a little jealous. Oh! Mom just gave me a big hug and says I have nothing to be jealous of. She loves me too! (and of course my goofy brother Dasher too)!

I hope you had a great celebration today with all those great gifts our CC friends always bring on you COTD win. I bet your Mom was excited to see your picture in that window.
Now, I know you have been pawtying for almost two days now and I also know received all kinds of delicious goodies form out CC buddies (and boy, can some of them cook. mol) So, while it may not seem like a celebratory gift I'm sending you half a case of Alka Seltzer and half a case of Pepto Bismol cause I know what the next day feels like.
