Hi Callie and MeowMeow!
First a note from us, Iago's earthly family. We want you all to know that Penny Lane FINALLY had her spay surgery 2 weeks ago yesterday. She did very well and has recovered without a hitch. We ALMOST have our old Penny Lane back. She has been sleeping at the foot of mom's bed now for a week and mom found her by her head one morning. Yeah! But, she still gets spooked and spazed if one of us goes past her and she didn't know we were there. She sees it as a threat, but that is getting better all the time. She is making attempts to be furriends with me, Cindy, but I don't want any part of that. After all, she is trying to be a momma's girl and as far as I am concerned, mom has only one girl, and it's ME! Thank-you to all of you who are praying for mom's dad and mom's friend's husband. It looks like he had 2 good days in a row. PTL! So, from here we will let Iago take it away!

OK, so where are we now? Let me see.... oh yes, we left off at Thursday of last week on our vacation. So for Friday and Sat. we flew to Goremen National Park in Cappadocia Turkey, (a 45 min. drive by car from Istanbul). We have to tell you all, we were in for a treat! This place is amazing! It is absolutely jaw dropping and there is no other place like it in the world! Let us describe it to you. To begin with, it has a dreamlike landscape. White volcanic ash lies on the tops of fairy chimney's and caves. This area is steeped in history. It was inhabited in the Greek Orthodox times here in the very early days of the Christian church. Those people used the landscape and caves as a hiding spot from those who were trying to persecute them. There is an underground city of caves and churches, just pawsome right Scooter? Some of the churches still have the original paintings on the walls. It is not be be missed! The rock formations are unique and you will never see anything like it. We trecked down into the valley and beauty surrounded us. There are so many native wild flowers here. I picked some for Scooter to make a boquet and to wear in her fur. We ate our picnic lunch in the valley. After, we continued to explore the underground city and all the pawsome churches there. Quite remarkable indeed! This area is like an outdoors museum. There are even tunnels to explore. And yes... I had to rub whiskers with Scooter in the tunnel. There are breathtaking views from the top of the valley. W will be staying in the Antolia Cave Hotel. All of it's rooms are caves! You can Google it to take a look. I think you will be quite impressed how lovely and tastefully decorated it is. Scooter was waiting in great anticapation for this. She was soooo excited to have reservations in a cave Hotel! We can't do this National park just in one day, so we stayed for two. Now I'll tell you about Saturday.

We signed up for a private 4 hour ATV ride thru the park. Half way thru, we stopped at this little tea shoppe in the middle of nowhere! Unbelievable! We had a lite lunch and Scooter had tea while I had T

First a note from my earthly family: Dear CC fur-pals, we once again apologize for not blogging except for Iago and Scooter's trip to Turkey. Things have not settled down here and summer is an especially busy time here with all the outside work to do. We have been leaving as many silent votes late at night for you all as we can. Mom got bad news about her dad yesterday. Hid MDS, (Mylodysplastic syndrome) has progressed as if often does, and it appears that he is probably now in full blown leukemia. Mom and her 5 sisters are all taking this hard as is mom's mom. Our mom is also dealing with her friend's situation where her husband (52 y/o), is dying of pancreatic cancer and mom is soo down in the dumps. He is getting weaker and weaker everyday and can't seem to eat or drink from the nausea and unusual taste distortion in his mouth. He has become severely dehydrated and needed to be taken in for IV fluid a few days ago. Good news is he received his last radiation therapy treatment yesterday. If you are so inclined, Please pray for Kenny. They are from southeastern IN. Mom's dad's name is Rocco. All prayers are appreciated so much!

Hey CC fur-pals! Scooter and I are reporting about our 4th vacation day last Thursday. Thr first thing we did after breakfast was to see the ' Whirling Dervish Dancers” They come from the Mevlevi order from the 1200's. UNESCO proclaimed the dancing ceremony as “the masterpiece of oral and tangible heritage of humanity”.

Then, we headed off to Pamukkale, another top attraction in Turkey. It is an unusual natural and historical site. The name, 'pamukkale' means “cotton castles” from the sparkling white appearance of the landscape. Here are the thermal pools said to have scientifically proven to be a remedy to many diseases. People travel year round to sit in these pools.

The underground water at this site once gave life to the ancient city of Hierapolis and has been used as a spa since 200 B.C. WOW! Scooter and I spent the day here dipping our paws and even our whole bodies in these spectacular thermal pools. It made us giggle and we did indeed feel better and refreshed. We will be taking many pictures as you won't find this anywhere else in the world. We headed back to our hotel about an hour before sunset and had a mice gourmet dinner. We relaxed in bed reading some of the literature and history that we have acquired since our stay here.

It's a bright sunny day with clear skies here today. A high in the mid to upper 40's is expected. Some of the snow should melt that wez got over the weekend. Wez were shocked to read in the CMR before wez wrote our blog that Yum Yum has crossed over. Wez are praying for mom Lynda as she grieves this great loss. News from Angel Iago Diago is that they are all over in in Rainbow Bridge and that the RB Greeters have taken Yum Yum into their gentle paws and all is well up there. Wez grieve along with Yun Yum's family as wez know the pain of losing a family member.

Thank-you to all of you that have complimented us on our new profile pics. Wez were hearing snickering that out X-mas pics were still up and saw some eye rolling. Te he he! Wez know how hard it is for a kitty to roll their eyes too! So, mom told dad he had to help her get new ones up.

Penny is doing great, it's just us now, we'll write more tomorrow on that. We are leaving votes for all and are wishing you all a terrific Tuesday!

Hi Callie and MeowMeow!
Hope you two are doing well. Here is our note for today:

Mom says that today is “over the hump day” wez are quite stumped about that saying. The only thing wez can think of is that wez are suppose to jump over a hump of a camel! Wez don't see any of those around here, so wez are quite confused. Quiet day here. But GUESS WHAT??? Mom saw the patio kitty yesterday! Mom tried to open the patio sliding door, but she got spooked. She looks just a wee bit bigger, so mom thinks she is a junior and not fully grown. So, out went the kitty food again and wez have our BOLO alert out again for her. Mom is calling her “Penny”.

Wez are watching the birdies at the feeders out the patio door windows and mom saw her favorite bird, a bright red cardinal. It's 33 degrees here now and overcast unlike yesterday where it was bright and sunny. No precipitation in the forecast.

Dad will be home unexpectedly tonight since band practice was canceled so wez are happy about that.

Mom was reading her Cat Fancy magazine in the wee hours of the morning. She is reading the most recent one, the one featuring the Scottish Fold and dental issues. Mom still has some back issues to catch up on too and her cat newsletters.

Wez loved hearing from all of our fur-pals and catching up.

Special prayers out to Dolly who is very sick, you can see her mom's note in the CMR from yesterday.

Hi MeowMeow and Callie!
Hi All! Sorry that wez were MIA over the Holidays, but dad had off and mom found it impossible to get on CC except to help us congratulate the COTD winner and occasionally hand out silent votes. Dad is back to work today, so things should start to get back to normal.

Wez sure did enjoy having dad home, things were a lot more active. It's mice to be able to get back to our old routine now too and wez are getting more sleep! Mom and dad got us one of the those deluxe wave cat scratchers and wez all love it! Our brother Maxwell thinks that it's his and not only uses it to scratch, but he sits in it like a recliner!

Wez had a very mice Christmas and New Years, Of course Cyndee's wedding was the Cat's Meow! Mom and dad spent New Years together at home as usual and mom fell asleep and dad had to wake her just before midnight to tell her a new year was about to be born! Wez had some pretty fluffy snow on New Years day, just enough to make it a postcard, but no real accumulation. We had a green Christmas which wez don't often have, but the temps cont. to be above normal. It was very cold yesterday, only a high of 20 and a high of 23 is predicted for today. After today, the temps are going to slowly rise again and we are suppose to get up to 43 by the weekend. Yeah!

Hi Callie and MeowMeow, Thanks for your note. Good to hear from you. We are busy too (at least Mom is). We’ve been having fun running through the pretty paper that Mom tries to tape on the boxes (also fun to jump in). Notice I said “we”. Well, I have a new baby brother! Mom just brought him home on December 9th. His name is Dasher. He dashes from room to room so fast! Plus Dasher is a Christmasy themed name like Sparkles is a 4th of July themed name (when I was adopted). Dasher is anxious to get his own page on cc. Mom says she’ll try to get some pictures of him (if he ever slows down) and get him up and running with his own page maybe after the holidays. I’m glad you are enjoying your beautiful weather. We’ve been having a very warm Nov and Dec too. Very unusual for these parts. But we’re not complaining!

To help you keep your gorgeous kitty figure, no matter your size, here is a yummy recipie from petplace.com that will also help you enjoy and celebrate the holidays!

FISH-TIVE HOLIDAY PRETZELS

3/4 cup canned tuna or salmon, drained well
1/4 cup warm water
1 tablespoon butter
1 cup whole-wheat flour

Preheat oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. In a medium size bowl, mash canned fish well with a fork and combine with water and butter. Add flour to form a dough. Divide dough into 24 pieces, roll each piece into a rope, and shape into a pretzel. OR...
dough can also be rolled out and shaped with cookie cutters. Place shapes on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until lightly browned. Makes two dozen. Enjoy!

Aunt Hollie sent an email to the Knight Gang's Mom~Lillian an UPDATE on us Aussie Kids and on our dad!

♥ Skits has finally started to slowly come inside again, he is still very cautious though. Evil has calmed down & I feel that he understands I am the one to care for him now as he comes to me when he needs food and will sleep/ sit beside me. I will however try the calming spray also as I want to do everything I can to help them.

I am happy to be here with my Uncle, it is hard to be in the house with all of her possessions and photos of her everywhere, but its getting easier everyday. I have been cooking dinner every night which is a big change for my Uncle, he is enjoying having home cooked meals again. ♥

Thank You old and new friends for your loving support to us all as we are missing our mum!

*You could be the star of your pawrent’s holiday cards!
But that might require dressing up in a cute holiday outfit!

*You could meow to Mom that you need some pampering.....help her plan a special grooming session and consider having your nails painted alternately red and green, or blue and silver, to celebrate the season.

*Once you are all perfectly groomed, you can show yourself off in a pet parade, or special holiday events where pets are invited.. you definitely need to have a special holiday picture taken with Santa

*Maybe there’s a church in your town that does the blessing of the animals

*If your family celebrates Hanukkah and a poochie lives at home, there are special cookies, cupcakes and brownies at the doggie bakery, and you can find Latkes & Applesauce Bark Bars at the pet supply store! And for you a seafood buffet is suggested!

*And best of all, sweet kitties, is to have some simple quiet time for bonding with your family over a cup of Catsip- the best holiday eggnog ever approved for cats!

*Then you can help Mom bake up some yummy treats to share with your kitty furiends! Have fun and enjoy!

GOBBLE-UPS

1 cup cooked turkey or chicken
1/2 cup beef or chicken broth
1 tablespoon margarine
1 cup whole wheat flour

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Combine turkey or chicken, broth and margarine. Add flour to make a soft dough. Add additional flour 1 tablespoon at a time if dough is too sticky. Roll out dough and cut with cookie cutter, or break of pieces and form into interesting shapes. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes on ungreased cookie sheets. Makes about 30 treats.

Hey guys, wez have missed you! Our brother passed on Oct. 29th. Hew got sick very suddenly and was gone 6 weeks after a perfect yearly cehck-up. Looks like he had a very fast growing tracheal cancer. The rest of us are doing well.

Here is our note to our fur-pals today:

Mom is behind again today and has so much to do! (well.... At least that is the story she is telling us)! So, today will be a quick note and vote day.

No further sign of the kitty wez saw out our patio door last week. The food bowl is outside but untouched.

Hi Callie and Meow Meow!
How are you guys? We're doing fine. We had 12 straight days of 70 degree weather, now today is 64 and gentle rain. So, it broke the record, but it was a nice day and it was quiet and relaxing. Our Iago is doing better but was scratching at his ears tonight. So, mom cleaned his ears and the right one had gunk in it, so mom is thinking with him being sick, that his immune system is compromised, and now has an ear infection. Mom is getting weary of us being sick all so close together. But, she's hanging as tough as she can with us!

Hi Callie and Meow Meow!
How are you two doing? Wez are doing real good. Wez have been having some fantastic weather here lately. This past weekend wez thought that our window perches would be down for the rest of the season because it was getting so cold. But, when wez woke up on Monday, to our surprise, it was gorgeous! It was sunny with clear blue skies and 70! Every day had been exactly liket that since. According to the weather report, wez are suppose to get two more days like it yet. The one thing that wez did notice today was the leaves changing colors and beginning to fall. Well, wez suppose it has to happen sometime, oh well.

I am so happy to hear from you and Meow Meow! Thanks for stopping by....so glad you and your family are ok! We all know what it's like when our pawrents have priorities that don't always include us...it's just not fair!
I love seeing the photos of your furbabies....they all have such cute faces. It can't be easy taking care of so many at one time. Are you all staying inside now? I know you like the outdoors, so I was just wondering if you were able to adjust to being an inside kitty!
So does Mom have a really tight schedule of classes? I'll bet you help her study.....I love to sit on Mom's laptop when she's trying to type! And when she takes papers out of the printer and puts them down, I love to pounce on them and help her organize them! Yep....we kitties are born helpers!
So nice to be able to meow with you, sweet friend!

Hi MeowMeow and Callie!
Wow, wez waz just thinking of you last week! Wez wondered where youz went, but life gets in the way sometimes mom says! Oh, wez are so glad to hear from you. Who had kittens? Wez forgot. How many do you have? Wez are doing ok, I, Cindy just got over a double ear infection and I never had one before. Mom says I don't do sick well! That's an undestatement! Then, just a few days later, Betty Boop gets a right eye infection. She never had one since wez adopted her. Luckily, it cleared up within 3 days with mom treating it. Now, wez are all healthy except for our oldest sibling Iago Diago. Wez just found out 3 weeks ago that he has early onset renal disease. Mom is the one who caught it because he is 13 1/2 and mom had him in for his yearly exam and they didn't ask if mom wanted any blood work done which theyz usually do when a cat is 7 or more years old. Iago has never had any blood work done so mom asked at the last minute before they were dismissed, "shouldn't he have some baseline lab values done"? The vet said "well ok, if you want". Mom said yes and low and behold he has renal disease. Mom is on top of it all the time! Iago just needs special food at this point and he is doing very well. Well, have a meowvelous Monday night!

Gosh, wez haven't meowed in quite awhile! How are you two doing? Wez had a warm one here today, it was 94 and that's a bit warm for our parts! Wez were kinda lazy because of it and that's why wez still up now bantering about and seeing what wez can get into! We're wishing you a wonderful night.

Hey, how are you two? Long time no Meow. Say. Zoe Monique and her siblings sent us some sand toys. Would you like to go to the castle beach and play in the sand? It's pretty hot here and wez wouldn't mind wadeing in the shallows or just dipping our paws in. Cidy had her vet appt. today, her yearly and she did real good mom said. She got to go in her walking jacket instead of her carrier and she liked that a lot because then mom could cuddle her. Votes left for both of you.

I knew you would understand about the mouse.... can you imagine letting a tiny little mouse cause so much confusion. It was the girls in the family that practically jumped up off the floor onto a chair.....eeeeekkkk, there's a mouse in the house! I still can't believe it. But, thanks for understanding. You are a good friend!

Gosh, wez lost track of you for a week or two! Hey, how are you two doing? It was 99 or 100 here today, wez not sure yet if it broke a record fot the day, mom will have to watch the news. Mom got really red yesterday, she looks like a lobster! te he he! Mom didn't even know it was this hot until she saw our brother Maxwell laying across the newspaper's looking a little limp and crabby. When Maxwell does that, wez know it's time for the A/C. He our temperature guide!

I had such an interesting experience this weekend! Mom and Dad took me to the beachy house to spend the weekend with the family....the kids and grandkids were all going to be there , and I was so good in the car.... I didn't even meow once. On Sunday, you would have been so proud of me.....I spotted the mouse that ran through the house first.....me, Charlotte...not really known as a mouser! It ran under the fridge....I kept it in my sights and stood guard, and waited and waited. Don't know what happened to it.....it never came out.....Mom ended up running out to the store to get Tomcat Mouse Traps....imagine replacing me, Charlotte, with Tomcat Mouse Traps! ....then nobody wanted to sleep there that night...., so they set a bunch of traps and packed up all their suitcases in record time and left!
I couldn't believe it..........I could have taken care of that mouse all by myself....I'm not just a pretty face! Now they're all trying to decide who's gonna go back to the house first to check the traps!. We'll just see about that Tomcat!
