Oh, Gio, I am so sad to hear you had to leave your earthly home and cross the Bridge, but I know you are with Angels Rusty, Hannibal, and Kato, and your first mama, Kathy. You were so blessed to have found your second Mama to love and care for you. What a wonderful photo of the two of you! I can just see the love in your Mama's face. When you were in Atlanta with us on your way to your new home, you were the perfect little gentleman--so sweet. I am praying for comfort for your mama, Gio. The Hairballz Rainbow Riders...
...quietly ride their motorcycles into the driveway of Angel Giovanni. We are here to honor Angel Giovanni's recent crossing. Zoe Monique, Cyndee, Thundie, Lola, Mallow, Ammie, Talley, Kali, Elvis and Dasher dismount their motorcycles and walk slowly and solemnly toward Angel Giovanni's Mom Arlene. They circle her and rub against her legs. Their purrs are as loud as the motorcycles they rode in on. "We are here to pay our respects to one of the sweetest and brightest Angels of all." Honorary Members Angel Doodlebug and Angel Yum Yum are sitting next to Angel Giovanni as he watches the Hairballz Rainbow Riders display their kitty love and affection toward his mother. Even though Angel Giovanni is happy to be with his other Mom Kathy, he still misses Mom Arlene with all his heart.
The Riders give Angel Giovanni a wink and a vote. They wave to Angel Giovanni's Mom as they get back onto their gleaming Harley Davidson motorcycles and head off to their next destination.

You do know he was Angel Tinker's first love and will be there to walk with him across the bridge and show him to his cloud after he get his halo and golden wings. ROYAL RAMBLINGS -- June 15
Today as we start out, I’ll give you the BC Name Game answer. “Bob’s Financial Institute” is: Roberts Bank. Congratulations to Gracie, Casper Todd, Lily, Sir Leo, Sassy, Cody Lee and Shadow, Prissy & Chloe. Roberts Bank is not actually a town, but rather a major transportation hub (bonus points to Shadow, Prissy & Chloe and Sir Leo -- IF I were giving bonus points, that is). You will see it over there on your left as we make our way up the highway from the ferry terminal, heading toward our next destination, Vancouver.
A city surrounded by majestic coastal mountains and the Pacific Ocean, Vancouver’s spectacular scenery and vibrant lifestyle attracts visitors from across the globe. With a prime downtown location The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, is a castle in the heart of the city, its’ very architecture symbolizes indulgence and pedigree. Best of all, the Hotel Vancouver is pet-friendly! Canine Ambassadors Mavis and Beau welcome guests with pets and create a "pawsitively" wonderful home away from home. This is where we will be staying tonight, isn’t it great?
The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver is close to Robson street shopping and cultural offerings. The lobby features designer shops, including the flagship Louis Vuitton boutique. So, knock yourselves out, kitties! In addition, our hotel's amenities include a state-of-the-art health club, indoor pool and Absolute Spa, a Vancouver day spa.
While we’re here, we just HAVE to go to world-famous Stanley Park! We can see the totem poles (no claw sharpening, please!), and many other great sights. Those more ambitious among us might want to try running, cycling, or roller blading around the scenic 22 kilometre Seawall, which surrounds the 1000 acre park. For those not so ambitious, there is always the horse-drawn tour. Enjoy yourselves, but don’t get too tired out. We have to get up early in the morning to start for our next destination.
Where? Well, that’s another BC Name Game clue, and it is “Famous Mom in Rocking Chair”. If you can figure out where we’re going, let me know (seriously, Mallow won’t tell me!).

"Mikey's Meow-velous Mothers" - May 20
Mallow & Evie found today’s story hiding among the many hundreds of rescue stories on the Animal Rescue Site. We’d like to introduce you to a kitty named COUGAR.
One day a rescue human was doing her volunteer shift on at an Adoption fair and had to bring the two little kittens she was bottle feeding with her. Every time the little babies would let out a peep one of the kitties up for adoption, Cougar, would get agitated and try to get to them. So the volunteer figured, why not see what happens? Well, Cougar got right into the carrier with the kittens and began washing and fussing over them. When one adventurous little fuzzball ventured out the open carrier door, Cougar pulled it back inside. She also tended expertly to the cleaning and toilet duties that are so challenging for humans who are taking care of orphan babies. By the end of the Adoption fair, the volunteer had gotten permission to bring Cougar home with her to help with the kittens. A week later, Cougar even started producing milk and the bottles were no longer necessary!
Pretty cool, right? Well, it gets even better. You see, Cougar had initially come into the shelter from a dog pound, pregnant and with a birth defect that gave her only one eye with limited vision in it. After her rescue it became necessary to remove her damaged eye AND the functioning one as well. So this loving surrogate mother kitty, Cougar, who stepped in to raise the two orphan kittens, had no eyes at all!
After the kittens were successfully reared and weaned, they AND their caretaker Cougar went to new forever homes.

Great to hear you've blended in so well. Going to a new home with kitties who already live there can be hard for a senior kitty sometimes, but Angel Kato did well, too. Must be because they picked you all such great new homes!
My Mom keeps me in all the time, too. I get to go out in the back yard on a leash with my sister Evie, that's something we both enjoy. "Mikey's Meow-velous Mothers" - May 12
Today’s story is, to me, the ultimate CC “Mother” story, and watching it unfold last year helped me and my family see that CC was so much more than a place to post pictures and do fun quizzes. This is the story of MOM KATHY, her kitties, and the CC community.
Kathy and her 7 kitties were very active and well known here on CC, especially in the Mouse Hockey League. Many friends mourned as over time two of them, ANGEL HANNIBAL #80097 and ANGEL RUSTY #80100, crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
Then, in January 2011, Mom Kathy herself got sick and was hospitalized. During this time, friends and CC members rallied to help take care of the remaining five kitties. Many who could not help in person donated money for food, medicine, and other necessities. Then in April, very sadly, Kathy died. This is when our CC community shifted into high gear and launched a nationwide effort to find her beloved kitties new homes and deliver them safely there.
From Pennsylvania, the kitties traveled: “The Honeysuckle Hauling Company” delivered BENNIE #208164 to Georgia, AMMIE #208214 and GIOVANNI #209850 to Florida (but to separate homes). As he described during his campaign, our very own KING INDIE #208247 and (now Angel) KATO #208249 traveled via the “Phat Cat Express” to a new home together in Massachusetts. By the time all five of them were settled, over 40 CC and a few non-CC Moms & Dads had donated money, time, transportation (or all three!). Many members followed via updates posted on the Catpaign & Mews Room (CMR). This truly was a community effort.
One of the things humans who love their kitties sometimes worry about is what will happen if they pass on before we do. We’re sure that this was on Mom Kathy’s mind as she realized that she was going to leave her fur babies behind. We are also sure that, one year later, Kathy is smiling down from the Bridge as she sees how well loved her babies are in their new homes, and as her sweet kitties joyfully greet one another at each MHL game before heading onto the ice to play their furry little hearts out.
