About Me
Active within 1 Day
Hi! My name is BONNIE & GRABBY 210597~~
I am Domestic Shorthair from Benton City, WA
Nicknames: We call Bonnie 'Chunky Monkey' because she looks like her new found prosperity has gone straight to her belly! Pretty soon she'll be known as 'The Round One'! She is also known as Bon Bon. Grabby is called lots of things - Grabinator, Grabitha, Grabigator, Grabydactyl, Grabbiraptor. You get the idea. But no matter what we call her, she IS a Grabby!
Age: 1 year old
Gender: F
Coat: short haired
Education: Bonnie and her older baby Grabby managed to survive life on the streets for nearly a year, or possibly more, until we were able to bring them in. They both have pretty bad house manners, actually, but I guess that's how you survive without any help. :)
My favorite tricks and treats are: GRABBY ADOPTY DAY 1-21-12 BONNIE ADOPTY DAY 2-7-12 GRABBY EST. BIRTHDAY 6-14-11 COTD 4-19-12 CROTD 4-20-12
Where I hang out:
My favorite grubs: Evolve Purina Indoor Cat Formula
My pet peeves: Bonnie doesn't like the other cats around her when she's in bed - she swats at anyone who comes near her. But if they don't leave, she just forgets about it and goes to sleep anyway. Grabby hates the dog! Well, she always swats at the dog, but she almost acts like she playing, more than being aggressive. Either way, the dog isn't happy about it.
What I love about my owners:
My cat hobbies: Bonnie's favorite pastime is shredding the corner of the large rug in the living room. She used to like turning somersaults over the curtain rods - thank goodness she gave up THAT hobby! Grabby's favorite thing to do is watch the birds in the backyard. If she had a pair of binoculars she could join the Audubon Society! :)

How We Met
Bonnie and Grabby were rescued after fending for themselves on the streets for quite awhile. The lowlifes across the street completely failed to care for Bonnie, through at least two litters of kittens, and she was forced not only to fend for herself but to provide for her babies as well. We finally were able to corral all of her family and they all live here safely now. Her story is near the bottom of this page, in a blog named "Bonnie's Saga". It's a very long story and won't fit in this space.

Hi Bonnie & Grabby Thanks for asking about my little paw. It is alright. Them antibiotcis are taking the swelling away and the redness is also gone, but the nail is still protruding, so we know more FRI. We were hot hot hot today, it is still May and we hit 89*, can you believe that?? it was also humid, we were under a severe t-storm warning til 8pm, but we only had a 5 minute shower, mom said that was not even enough to water 1 flower, so mom watered her flowers at 8pm when the sun went down. Right now we are watching our game, and we are ahead in the 3rd period, so maybe we will win this and be ahead by 2 games. Our arena is LOUD, you can't hear much of anything except for the fans. The announcers said it is deafening...MOL!!! Mom said she will take a cool shower and drowen herself, she is so hot....she couldn't hang outside with the heat, so she came in and painted her dresser and vanity, but cause of the humidity it is taking forever to dry. Have a pawsome evening & Stay cool!! ~~~~~~~~~~~ Bonnie's Saga ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bonnie's story starts around September 2010, when I noticed a white cat sitting in the skylight of the neighbor's enclosed greenhouse across the street. Afraid it might be a stray who accidentally got locked in I went to ask them if they knew there was a cat out there. They said it was their cat and they knew she was there, so I figured all was well. I continued to see her up there occasionally, basking in the sun. She seemed content, so I didn't give it any more thought. Fast-forward to March 2011. One day I saw the neighbor working in his yard across the street, and to my surprise, he had a white cat AND a small black cat in the yard with him. They would follow him around, and play together. Oddly, he seemed to pay absolutely no attention to them whatsoever. I thought that was unusual. After that I saw the two cats in the yard from time to time, usually when the man was out working in the yard. I decided they must have both been in the greenhouse before, and he had decided to let them outside once in awhile. A month later, I saw the little black cat heading out into the street, following some kids walking home from school. I ran out and picked him up and brought him back to the house across the street. The man was working on his porch light, so I brought the cat over to him and asked if it was his cat. He said "Yes" and took the cat from me, and just dropped it back on the ground! I told him I had gotten the cat out of the street and he might want to keep an eye on it. He more or less just grunted at me. It was then that I began to suspect all was not well... Fast-forward again to June 21, 2011. That was the day I saw the little black cat crying pitifully and staggering across the yard toward the street. I went and got him and brought him home, knowing now that the folks across the street were less than concerned about those cats' health and welfare. That black cat was Summer. Fast-forward again to September 2011. Looking out my kitchen window toward the bike path up the street, I noticed two young tabbies investigating something laying in the path. One of them would swat at it now and then. Finally my curiosity made me go up the street to see what they had. It turned out to be an empty hot dog wrapper. I guess they were hungry. I knelt down and one of them came right to me, purring away, and from under a bush, the white cat emerged and also came right to me. The other young cat kept his distance. I still believed they belonged to the people across the street, so I left them on the path so they could go home, which was right at the edge of the path. After that I began to notice the two tabbies and the white cat playing in the yard across the street, and I still was able to convince myself that everything was fine. If I had known then what I know now, I would have brought them all home right then! 20-20 hindsight is always perfect - and often painful.Come visit me, BONNIE & GRABBY 210597~~, TOBY 210431 ~~, PIG & SISSY 210414~~, DARN BEE GEE 210564~~, RIP ANGELS 210737~~, MR.SNIFF 210653~~ & CATTY SHACK 232638 ~.

cont. About a week later, I started noticing another small black cat running back and forth across the street, heading from the driveway across the street to the neighbors yard two houses up from me. I saw her do this about 3 times in two weeks. Finally, the last time I saw her come across the street, I just had to know what she was doing. So I went up the street and found her drinking from my neighbor's fish pond! I made an instant connection between her and Summer, and a snap decision to bring her home with me. So I picked her up, and home she came. That black cat is Autumn. All was quiet until December. Then I started noticing the white cat again, but this time she was running back and forth across the street, too! In January I saw her and the two young cats being chased by dogs, and they all got separated. The white cat went under my next door neighbors house. I don't know where the two kittens went. But one day in January, late in the afternoon, we saw one of the kittens trying to eat from our bird feeders in the front yard. We decided enough was enough, and we set out our humane trap. That little one must have been pretty hungry, because we caught her just before the sun went down. She came inside to her new forever home. We continued to try to trap the white cat and the other kitten, but they were more cautious. And then one day, about 4 days after we had caught the first kitten, I found the other one lying in my neighbor's yard, dead in the snow. He didn't look as if anything had happened to him. He didn't seem injured. He was just dead, lying in front of the opening I know the white cat used to go under the house. I was so upset! It took a couple weeks to finally catch the white cat, and when I did, it wasn't in the trap. She had been visiting the food station we have in our back yard for stray or homeless cats. I saw her heading there one morning, and decided to try to catch her by hand. I quietly walked up behind the shed and opened the tarp. She was just sitting there, and I knelt down and she came right to me. I picked her up and brought her inside. But not before she was already pregnant. Which brings us to today. She had her babies on April 11 in my closet. But we are reasonably sure that Summer and Autumn were from an earlier litter, and when she had her next litter she stopped tending to Summer and Autumn and they had to learn to fend for themselves, which Autumn seems to have done a bit more successfully than poor little Summer. This timeline would put the tabby's birthday around the beginning of June. We have no idea how or why Summer and Autumn were separated, and how she took care of herself until she reappeared in September and I brought her home on October 6. But that is the saga of Bonnie and all her babies, as best as we are able to determine.Come visit me, BONNIE & GRABBY 210597~~, TOBY 210431 ~~, PIG & SISSY 210414~~, DARN BEE GEE 210564~~, RIP ANGELS 210737~~, MR.SNIFF 210653~~ & CATTY SHACK 232638 ~.
