Hot Rod is a natural caregiver. Whenever one of our cats isn't feeling well Hot Rod is always nearby to comfort them. He's really a gentle guy.
Hot Rod has asthma, so he has to take hits from an inhaler occasionally. He usually does this like a pro.
Also he's super great at the vet's office. Doesn't even need a carrier (but we keep him in one in the waiting area for his own safety). When he's at the vet he walks around the examining rooms like he's the boss.
My favorite tricks and treats are: Hot Rod likes to take care of other cats when they don't feel well. Whenever there is a sick cat in the house Hot Rod will sleep with them, and groom them, and just stay with them. He's really very sweet natured.
Where I hang out: I like to sleep on dad's chest or on mom's pillow.

What I love about my owners: They try to keep me comfortable when I'm having trouble breathing.
My cat hobbies: I like to be calm and quiet. My favorite thing in the whole wide world is to sit and watch the movie "Babe". That's right - I will sit and watch the whole movie, from start to finish! No other movie does it for me like that one. I love that little pig! MOL!

How We Met
Hot Rod's mama was a semi-feral outside cat who lived in my yard. She wasn't really tame but would eat the food I left out for her. After a few years she finally did let me touch her, and she was eventually brought inside, but not before having two litters of kittens, that I know of. Hot Rod was from one of those litters. Ziggy was from an earlier litter.

still feels
steamy here and still very humid. the cool front isn't due to come through till sometime today, so hint, hint, more rain and then stall off the coast which means a wet weekend for us here and colder only lower 50s and 40s at night! big change from the 80s/humid conditions of most of this past week. sandy,ana,haley,angelsCome visit me, ana, haley, malachi is my boyfriend! whiskerscotm & sandy, angels, vote whiskers cotm!.

Great goin'
Hot Rod, your the Dude
... really enjoyed your funny comments today AND without any known errors either. Wish me luck for tomorrow because Sat. there's a big yard sale at our yard. Already people are bringing their stuff over to our garage . Friday will be setting up etc. We will have a lot of trouble getting into the back when our litter pans are parked.
Hope i get quiet time to doze and also write up the comments.

I may have to consider stocking grit cakes in my Wiener Mobile. Seems like they may come in handy even in the emergency kit. Thank goodness you didn't send me to Loserville. Not sure if I could have handled eating all of those roll-ups by myself...not to mention that high octane juice I brought.

Our sunny warm weather has been MIA, too. Our heater is on, I'm wrapping myself in a blanket and Mom is drinking some hot cocoa to stay warm. My paws are crossed that we'll have some nice weather this weekend. Grey sky with no sun is not fun! tee-hee.

Mom's parents weren't that keen on the snake, either, but Mom kind of slipped him in. She told Angel Granddad that her friend told her there were lots of garter snakes in her yard, and if she was able to catch one could she keep it? Angel Granddad grew up on a farm and knew how fast snakes are, so he said "if you can catch a garter snake, SURE you can keep it!".
Well, the friend really did have tons and tons of snakes in her yard, and not only did Mom catch one, she caught a huge one. They measured "Herbie" at three feet long. Angel Granddad said he didn't even know garter snakes grew that big. Angel Grandma was creeped out, but he felt like he had to keep his word. Mom had the snake for just a couple of weeks, feeding him turtle food and water and then she decided to take him back where he came from and let him go. Hi Hot Rod,
I miss you buddy, but things are good here. Thanks for keeping an eye on my mom and Pinkie. I know my mom is loving the poster your mom made of my picture. It's been really great to see my little sis Emily who made it here 2 years before I did. We're catching up on everything. And I was right...she did send Pinkie LaRue to our house! I always had a feeling Emily had a paw in it. I need to run dude. It's time to chase some nip mice, and then for a long sleep in my mom's mom's lap with Emily.

To Hot Rod and all Ben's furiends,
Ben wanted me to post this message for him. He crossed the Bridge yesterday with the help of his wonderful vet. Ben had been feeling great up until yesterday morning, but when he woke up he was in bad shape and we both knew it was time. His vet came to the house. I held Ben and he lay his head right over my heart and kissed his head and told him I loved him, and then the vet eased the shot in, and he was gone. Now he's free of pain and playing with Emily and loving on my Mom again. Thank you all for being Ben's friends.

I'm doing pretty good. Thanks fur asking. My mom is giving me some special medicine from the vet that is suposed to make the tumor thing shrink a little bit, or at least not grow so fast. She puts it on a spoon every few days and covers it with this super good oil stuff and lets me lick it up. It is goo-oood! I don't know how much longer I'll be around, but things are sure looking up!

This is Ben's mom. He hasn't been here because he's very sick. He's going to be crossing the bridge before too much longer. He has bladder cancer. He's not ready to leave yet, but when he tells me, I'm going to help him go. I can only do this once. Please look at his blog and let the other kitties know he didn't forget them.
