November skies

Unexpected turn of events... It was a warm, simply beautiful day; it's a great time of year:
*the rustling of leaves & snapping twigs, sounds signaling the coming of a barren winter
*drinking hot chocolate & apple cider w/cinnamon stick
*football games, family reunions, children's laughter
*the cozy feel of fleece while curled up on the sofa
*a simmering pot of homemade soups cooking
*gourds, corn stalks, mums, planting fall bulbs
*singing time-worn songs around the bonfire
*the smell of wood burning in the fireplace
*the aroma of jams, pies & breads baking
*hiking after the Thanksgiving meal
*pumpkin patches, apple picking
*tall trees cast long shadows
*roasting marshmallows
*town fairs, hayrides

Thank you everyone for pawing by to vote and Congratulations me on my Cat of the Day and Cat Rescue of the Day. Had a Pur-day playing with my sisters and brothers and all my new toys. Pawing you a vote.
Trout Treats
Your cat will signal her paw-si-tively pleasing approval if you break from the monotony of store-bought treats by seving these homemade yum-yums.
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 egg yolks
1 small trout filet, baked
4 tablespoons instant oatmeal
1. Preheat oven to 350F.
2. Coat a baking pan with the vegetable oil.
3. In a small bowl, whisk the egg yolks.
4. Dip the trout in the egg mix and then coat the fish with oatmeal.
5. Place the coated fish in the pan and bake for 15 to 18 minutea.
6. Allow to cool and then cut into half-inch pieces.
Makes 6 to 8 servings

Sweet Moki's original home was not a happy one, in fact he suffered abuse and was going to be put down until he was rescued by his new family. He currently has kidney disease and some depression but this tough guy is a fighter. He even fought his way out of a house fire in 2007. Is he amazing or what? He loves Science Diet food, being brushed and sleeping in the window. Please paw on paw his page 193429 and leave him a vote for his very own COTD badge.
