About Me

Active within 727 Days

Hi! My name is Storm

I am Domestic Shorthair from Dover, OH

Nicknames: Storm Mizer, StormStorm

Age: 4 years old

Gender: M

Coat: short haired

Education: I got Storm when he bearly had his little eyes open. Then when he was about 5 months old a long haired calico showed up at the door and about 5 weeks later she gifted me with 6 little bundles of fur. Storm became the big brother and helped take care of the little bundles.

My favorite tricks and treats are: Coming to my mom when I hear the song "Riders on the Storm" by The Doors. I also do flips around the house. and People food. He will take a bit and then play with the food

Where I hang out: Hanging out in the duck work

My favorite grubs: Purnia Indoor Food

My pet peeves: Not getting his way

What I love about my owners: No matter what I do my mommy loves me.

My cat hobbies: Being rotten. 1 moment he is sweet as pie the next he is a whirl wind of fur flying around the house. I also steal mommys grapes to play with.

Pet motto: My name fits me~ 1 minute I'm sweet the next minute I am a whirl wind of playing fur. I'm just like a storm

Walking one foot in front of the other--Foot facts
“As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives.” -Henry David Thoreau
.......²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²². ......
1. The human foot contains 26 bones, 33 joints, 107 ligaments and 19 muscles.
2. Your feet mirror your general health. Conditions such as arthritis, diabetes, nerve and circulatory disorders can show their initial symptoms in the feet --so foot ailments can be our first sign of more serious medical problems. Biomechanical fault and strain affect the knees, joints and L5.
3. There are 250,000 sweat glands in a pair of feet. Sweat glands in the foot excrete as musch as a half pint of moisture a day.
4. The average person takes 8,000 to 10,000 steps a day, which adds up to about 115,000 miles ove a lifetime. That's enough to go around the circumference of the earth four times.

Two poems for our FurFriends - 1 day to go!!
Catch a Little Rhyme by Eve Merriam
Once upon a time
I caught a little rhyme
...I set it on the floor
...but it ran right out the door
......I chased it on my bicycle
......but it melted to an icicle
..........I scooped it up in my hat
..........but it turned into a cat
I caught it by the tail
but it stretched into a whale
...I followed it in a boat
...but it changed into a goat
......When I fed it tin and paper became a tall skyscraper
..........Then it grew into a kite
..........and flew far out of sight...
..`•.,,.•´¯` •.,,.•´¯`•. ,,.•´¯`•. (¯`v´¯),
Still I Rise by Maya Angelou (variation in CAPS)
...Just like moons and like suns,
......With the certainty of tides,
.........Just like hopes springing high,
............Still I'll rise.
...Into a daybreak that's wondrously clear
......I rise
............Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the FELINE.
...I rise
......I rise
.........I rise.

A little more about me
My first year with my mommy I decided to take over the christmas tree and claim it as my own tree. Now that I am bigger and older mommy has to tie the tree down to a cemet brick. What a spoiled brat I have become and I do not like it when my christmas tree gets messed with even by my mommy.

This year I decided to become really rotten and started to remove the decorations along with a light and socket from the strand of lights on the christmas tree. I put 5 decoations on the floor and my own little puppy mommy got for me got ahold of 3 of them. Boy, was mommy mad. So my mommy decided to remove the decorations from the tree and the brat that I am started to hit her but that didn't stop mommy.

I still think that I can lay in the tree so mommy has to keep fluffying the tree.

Time to start forming a new plan for next year!!! What will I do next year to the christmas tree????? Any ideas?????

Come visit me, Storm.

Speech on women's suffrage on November 13, 1913.

"I do not come here as an advocate. I am here as a soldier who has temporarily left the field of battle in order to explain what civil war is like when civil war is waged by women. I am here as a person who, according to the law courts of my country, it has been decided, is of no value to the community at all.
Women, many of whom you respect, women whom you know have lived useful lives, women whom you know, even if you do not know them personally are animated with the highest movtives, women who are in pursuit of liberty and the power to do useful public service...unless you are prepared to put back civilization two or three generations, you must give those women the vote. Now that is the outcome of our civil war."

Moving conscious awareness into the field of future possibilities (or probabilities) gives us a degree of conscious choice or control over the future our subconscious mind creates. The Sanskrit word for "to know" literally translates into English as "to go through". Until our conscious mind actually experiences an event or manifestation of physical reality it cannot "know" that event or manifestation.

Emmeline Goulden was born in 1858. She married Richard, an attorney, in 1879 to Richard. He shared her convictions about women's rights. He drafted the bill giving married women absolute control over their property and earnings, a bill, which became law in 1882.

She was a striking, charismatic woman and an inspiring speaker. "Perhaps it is difficult to rouse women, they are long-suffering and patient, but now that we are roused, we will never be quiet again." In June 1918 British women over age 30 won the right to vote. On July 2, 1928, just three weeks after her death, a law was passed allowing all women over the age of 21 to vote. Her 3 daughters benefited from her steadfast campaign for social justice.

War amputees - artificial limbs
`•.¸¸.•´´¯`••._.•Veteran's Day•.¸¸.•´´¯`••._.•
Wounded warriors make their way back through extraordinary courage and determination. More than 1,200 members of the US military have lost arms and legs in Middle East fighting in the decade since 9/11.

Military research, creative engineering and technological advances in prosthetics help those who have lost limbs, all or part of an arm or leg through various reasons including:
•Traumatic injuries from military combat including traffic accidents
•Circulation problems from atherosclerosis or diabetes, resulting in amputation
•Birth defects

An artificial limb lets the amputee function nearly as well as before. The device, a prosthesis, helps perform daily activities such as walking, eating, or dressing.

The Future
Engineers are developing prosthetics for animals who suffer from disease and damaged body parts

Federal & state holiday Friday
~11:11:11~(Veteran's-Armistice-Remembrance Day~
On November 11th, we remember the brave fallen. We owe so much to the sacrifices of a very few.

**End of WWI in 1918: A day for Reflection**
In 1918, at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, hostilities between the Western Allies and Germany ceased, effectively ending what was until then the bloodiest conflict in human history.

The phrase “at the 11th hour” is biblical (Matthew 20:6 — “And about the eleventh hour) and it is understood to mean “at the very last possible minute.”

After the war, a park was created at the site called the Clairiere de L’Armistice (the Clearing of the Armistice). A concrete pavilion was built to house the rail car, and a statue of Foch was erected along with a plaque that read: “Here on the eleventh of November 1918 succumbed the criminal pride of the German empire ... vanquished by the free peoples which it tried to enslave.”

**Symmetry makes us feel safe and balanced.
Nov. 11, 2011, the date when three 11s will align for the first time in a century. There's nothing unusual about the time 11:11 or the date 11/11/11 except the unofficial start of the 2012 metaphysical year.

The number eleven, as the sixth prime number, has a special characteristic in mathematics. It contains some interesting peculiarities where the number eleven multiplied by itself equals a palindrome (remains the same when its digits are reversed):

Dance - Vote #54
Life-affirming, inspiring & captivating, heartwarming song.
Live fully, joyously, completely and purposefully
.......Have confidence to try something new........
Take chances on opportunities......Gain strength
Embrace challenges.................Hold nothing back
Fulfill dreams.................... ............................Believe

»-(¯`v´¯)-» "I Hope You Dance" »-(¯`v´¯)-» Tia sillers and Mark Sanders

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder,
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger,
May you never take one single breath for granted,
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed

I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens,
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.

I hope you dance....I hope you dance.

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance,
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Livin' might mean takin' chances but they're worth takin',
Lovin' might be a mistake but it's worth makin',

Don't let some hell bent heart leave you bitter,
When you come close to sellin' out reconsider,
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.

I hope you dance....I hope you dance.

...Time is a wheel in constant motion
always rolling us along,
Tell me who wants to look back
on their youth and wonder
where those years have gone.

Dance....I hope you dance.

(> ” ” <)....Beautiful, powerful, meaningful song

Jupiter rules the night in November 2011 as it shines and beams, like a lighthouse, in the east moving westward and upward from evening dusk until morning dawn.
Meteors in annual showers originate as grains of dust or ice in space, left behind by comets. After midnight, the part of Earth you’re standing on has turned so that you face head on into the incoming stream of space debris. So you typically see more meteors after midnight – unless the moon happens to rise in the middle of the night. Although the moon may wash out some Leonid meteors, it acts as your guide to the meteor shower radiant and the red planet Mars.
The annual Leonid meteor shower ramps up a few additional streaks of light and gets underway in November 6. With the Moon currently waxing toward Full, the best views will come before dawn tomorrow and Tuesday in the hour or two after the Moon sets. Astronomers expect the shower to peak the night of November 17/18.

We gain an hour of sleep this weekend!! Dayllight savings comes to an end at 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning. With the clocks turned back, it will be less dark in the morning but darkness will fall earlier in the evening. Arizona, Hawaii and Puerto Rico stay on standard time all year round.
The concept of daylight-saving time may have first been proposed by Benjamin Franklin in 1784 to the Parisians. The thought was that Americans would appreciate an extra hour of sunlight and conserve energy (candles and oil back then).
Transitions may disrupt chronobiologic rhythms and influence the duration and quality of sleep as the effect lasts for several days after the shift. People who suffer with sleep disorders seem to find the bi-annual transitions more difficult. The extra hour of sleep means a lost hour of afternoon sun, which increases reliance on electricity and decreases the potential for, vitamin D-giving outdoor activities. Nearly half of the world’s population has lower than optimal levels of vitamin D, often called the sunshine vitamin.

The human population reached a billion in 1804. By 1927, that figure doubled. In just over 30 years, it hit 3 billion. Population figures have doubled in the last 50 years. Every 24 hours on our planet some 237,000 people are born and 140,000 die. Nearly half the world’s population is under the age of 25 and entering their childbearing years. The United Nation's figures come with a 1-2% margin of error.

On October 31, the world's 7 billionth person will be born. A world of 7 billion poses many challenges, implications for sustainability, urbanization, access to health services and youth empowerment and countless opportunities to make a positive difference.

The UN's reason for naming a symbolic date as 7 Billion Day is to draw attention to the speed of population growth, with less than 13 years having passed between the six-billion and seven-billion milestones. The UN estimates that baby 8 billion will be born by 2025, 9 billion by 2050, 10 billion by end of century.

Millions of Americans rally into action to help change and make the world a better place through undertakings that include revitalizing community centers, rehabilitating parks, improving low-income homes, creating community art projects, mentoring, serving meals, developing community

Seize the day, seize the moment, inspire, equip and mobilize corporations, nonprofit organizations, families and individuals to improve communities throughout the year.

Lost in a maze craze
((¯`v´¯))Octo*ber news VOTE!((¯`v´¯))

You can grow it, shuck it, pop it, cook it and even play in it. It seems to be less about eating it and more about getting lost in it as the newest form of "agritainment". Some stumble onto the correct pathways and exit the maze in minutes; the more directionally-challenged wander the puzzles for up to several hours. Still a fun, clean, educational and unique recreation for all ages.

A couple got lost at Connors Farm's corn maze in Danvers, MA. It has a scale difficulty of 9 out of 10. They were rescued by a K-9 police 25 feet from the exit as darkness fell. All's well that ends well.

Your VOTE comes with a rainbow leaf bouquet tied with bows of iridescent ribbon.

Fall’s changing colors are linked to cooling temperatures, decreasing sunlight and soil moisture. Chlorophyll gives plants their green color. Glucose is trapped in the leaves after photosynthesis stops. Sunlight and the cool nights in autumn cause the leaves to turn glucose into colors which become visible after the chlorophyll disappears.
The bright red and purple fall foliage colors come from anthocyanin pigments, orange colors from carotene and yellows from xanthophyll. Different combinations of these pigments give us a wide range of colors each fall. Brown fall foliage colors come from tannin, a bitter waste product.
