How We Met

We got it from the Humane Society. My daughter wanted a kitten, so we were looking at the kittens, but then I saw this very sad, poor kitty in the very back of the cage, not looking up. Instead it had it's head down. My heart went out to this cat. I asked if I could see the cat. It didn't play that much or come to us that much. The Humane Society said they had this cat for awhile, that nobody took it. I asked if anything was wrong with cat, and they said when cat gets excited which wasn't that much, it has a small drooling problem. I cried for this cat, and took her home. It was so scared it stayed under the bed for days. I had the litter box, food and water in bedroom, and it came out while we were asleep. It might have been an abused cat. It would only come to my daughter and I. It finally came and sat on my husbands lap, 6 months later. We've had the cat for a year now, and we love her, it's a member of our family. The very furry purring, meowing acting like a dog member of our family.
My daughter lost her previous cat to cancer 2 1/2 years ago. I know they say not to get another cat right away to replace the previous cat, but I'm glad we did. This cat would have been put to sleep, if no one took her soon... My daughter got to choose the name. She choose Sophie from that mama mia movie with meryl streep.. Sophie has been a great joy to us even though she thinks she's a dog at times the way she acts...
