You've missed a lot! We had a scavenger hunt here last week to see who could find the most pieces of mom's brain. She's been really scatter-brained lately, so we decided we needed to do something about it.

Good mews, bad mews. We think we've found most of it, but we are having a dickens of a time putting it back together right. We seem to have accidentally put the "obsessive-compulsive organizing" section where the "rest and relaxation" section is supposed to go, and we can't find THAT part at all! So crazy mom spent most of yesterday rearranging the kitchen! Now we know how Frankenstein must have felt. How discouraging. *sigh*

Once again we've been kind of out of circulation. The fires in Washington and neighboring states are causing something of a crisis. Air quality is about the same as inside the chimney of a burning fireplace! It's VERY bad. The sky is completely brown, and breathing is difficult at best, painful at times. And all of us are having problems to some extent.

Mom has been trying to keep us all quiet, which is usually no problem. Being cats, we usually spend most of our time sleeping anyway. Except when we know that's what she wants! :) Of course we all want to romp and carry on now. Exactly what we shouldn't be doing. She's even keeping the dog in almost 24-7. No dog walkies lately. :(

We MIGHT get a slight break from the smoke tomorrow, at least that's the tentative forecast. But it can change at a moment's notice. And they have mentioned the possibility of T-storms. BAD news! Those are mainly what caused the fires in the first place! So mom has been staying inside and being lazy. This could last for another several days. And we aren't complaining too loudly. We like being able to pester mom, and we can do it MUCH better when she's not locked in the computer room! MOL!

Great to hear from you! Oh, mom loves her fresh tomatoes from the garden. Unfortunately she hasn't gotten very many this year. :(

Mom's sure glad we all made it through another week! She's been having excruciating pain in her right heel and back of her leg - plantar fasciitis. She has so much darn work to get done before fall really gets here, but she is going to try and relax today anyway - as much as it really annoys her to put anything off. The weather should be nice for another while longer, so she figures ONE day off her foot won't make that much difference in her "fall schedule"!

It seems like the smoke has dissipated a little around here, but we can still smell it, and mom still has her sore throat, and we still have the sniffles. It's been warmer now during the day, upper 70's here, but the nights are still cool.

One thing we like about the weather getting cooler is that mom will start doing a lot more cooking and baking. She makes entirely TOO MANY salads and sandwiches during the summer! MOL! Hope your mom is enjoying her Saturday. Purrs

where all over God's Green Earth have you been? Say hello to Ed for me, okay?
Yes, it was tough without the laptop... mom had to face down her addiction but she did get a whole lot more creative work and reading done when she could not get into cyberspace.
Now, she's back to "normal." Not sure how often you got out to the east coast this summer... hot and dry. Poor midwest! But we have regular rain and cool temps back now. And we have the windows closed at night and the down blankie on mom's bed ... it is still only August but it is early Fall anyway.

Mom FINALLY got a few tomatoes from her measly garden - and they were delicious! Or so she says. I wouldn't eat tomatoes if you threatened me with a squirt gun! :)

Well, guess what! We are getting ready for possible T'storms and rain later today, tonight and tomorrow - again! We're all for the rain! But the rest of what comes with those storms - lightening, LOUD noises, and wind - we would rather do without!

Oh noes! A/C broke AGAIN?? Well, at least you got it fixed. *whew*

We've been pretty busy here this week. Well, actually the busy part is over, we're more in recovery mode now. :) I guess you heard our old Aurora cat crossed Rainbow Bridge last week. Mom was pretty sad. And then on Friday our litter of kittens was old enough to go to a rescu group, so they left us, too. It got really quiet around here for awhile.

WOW!! We had a TERRIBLE T'storm last night. Actually early this morning. Woke mom up @ 3:30 am with a CRR-A-A-A-A-CKKK! Lightening right over the house! The whole house shook, the windows and dishes rattled. It was like an earthquake (and mom should know - she was in one!). This scared the fur off all of us! It was over in about 20 minutes, but we were all so worked up we could hardly settle down and go back to sleep. And we are forecast to have more of those tonight and tomorrow!

Happy Saturday my friend. How was your day? It was a pretty day here, only a little cool. After a really hot week last week, 64 degrees was a bit chilly. Hehehe.!!! I have been quite busy recently, much to Mom's chagrin. I managed to catch a bird one day and a chipmunk another day. Woo Hoo.!!! I worked really hard to make those captures and here comes Mom and took them away from me. What a pawty pooper.!!! Oh well, I will begin my hunting again, as soon as possible. Perhaps tomorrow. Thank goodness you got that air conditioning fixed! Well, YOU didn't get it fixed, but you know what I mean! :) I still think it's kind of sad to spend all your holidays on the road, but like you say, since your whole family is really all together wherever you are, I suppose it's not so bad.

That being said, happy Memorial Day weekend. This is such a somber and inspiring holiday. It's a shame most cities don't even have a parade anymore. We have a local parade here in our area, one of the few in the whole STATE! Can you believe that? Mom remembers when she was a kid, this was a really important holiday, parades everywhere. Not any more. It seems we have become spoiled, and take everything we have for granted. It's a sad shame. But mom still observes this day. And so does our little small town, God bless 'em! :)

We have an absolutely beautiful day here today. Cool breeze, slightly overcast, about 72*, humidity around 15%. Fabulous day for a celebration! We hope you are having one wherever you are today!

How's it going? yes, it has been a while. Glad your 4 are nice and cozy in your gypsy wagon! And that Mother's Day was special for your Mom.
We had a purrfect sunshiny day here before getting dumped with lots of rain in the next three days. So, we had to f=catch up on our naptime big time. this evening there was a break and so we rushed outside and helped Mom plant some little pots of flowers in the muddy beds. It's funny how their bed are muddy, huh?
Mom also made Gracie twinkle-toes a second sand pile/sideless box. It was from WalMart this Kids Sand bag. GTt loves to spread out the sand and then spread herself out flat on it. She's unusual. Mom has told us not to use the sand for anything other than play. GTt loves to go outside but does not understand how I prefer to always use the mulch or other outdoor soil for my "toileting" time. She will only use her litter pan that is in the garage. I am trying to break her of this habit this summer. She thinks I am "gross" for publicly doing my business instead of using a covered, "privacy" pan.
So, how do you take care of your litter needs in that confined space?

How goes the ai conditioner battle? Did your dad get it fixed? I'll bet it can get hot in that truck, huh? I know mom and dad even complain about how hot it gets in the car! MOL!

So, you guys have the weekend at home, or are you on the road again? How much time do you spend on the road all year, any rough idea? I guess since you and your mom and dad are all together, it's not a big deal to be on the road for holidays and birthdays and stuff, huh? It might actually be kinda fun that way. You get to have holidays all across the country! How cool is that? On the other hand, I guess it could get old after awhile. :( But as for me, I think it sounds kinda cool. Glad you've been having good weather for all your travels. Bad weather can make any kind of traveling dangerous and no fun at all!

Oh, you bet we make all kinds of chatter when we watch the birds out the window! Since mom isn't filling up the feeders this year we don't have as many birds as we used to, but they still come to the bird bath. When the weather gets good and hot there will be lots of them.

Right now our weather is getting back to the more normal temperatures for here this time of year, in the upper 60's, low 70's. That 91* the other day was WAY out of whack! We were at 36* last night! Very strange weather! We all still like it more than the heat though. Hope the weather holds for you guys on the road! Purrs

That's interesting you didn't run into any of the weird weather we had yesterday... although you could have just slipped in between the sleet, snow showers, hail, heavy rain, plain rain with sunbreaks, wind, and more hail. Cold Cold Cold.
i heard that PA got it pretty hard with snow. so, you are lucky gypsies traveling the highways.
Today started out sunny although rain is predicted for the next week or more. The chenango River--a block from us, went a little over its banks in some places. People had been moaning about how low it was going into spring and planting time. Well, they can shut up now or find something else to worry about. Have you noticed that about humans? they always pick up one thing or another to worry about.
Well, are you going down the eastern coast or back out west now?
What an interesting life your whole family leads!!

Hey Lugnut!
Sorry we've been kind of on-again/off-again lately. Mom will probably be MIA even more, now that the weather has warmed up finally. A record high here yesterday - 91*! The previous record was 86* back in 1977! I hope it's a long time before we set a new record! :) We did have a T'storm last night, which made a mess of all the "clean-up" mom's been doing out in the yard. :(

"Only" supposed to be 86* today. Then back down to the 70's by the weekend. We can always hope. I'm sure keeping my paws crossed. In the meantime, mom's heading out into the yard in a little bit to finish that "clean-up" she keeps talking about. Not to mention the mess from that darn old storm last night! It could all take til the end of the week. Hope you're having a good one! Purrs.

Monday in...
If you hang around here for too long you're going to get into snow. It is coming here (central NY) tonight. We did lots of yard work and planting on Sat. And now the tender things will get frozen. We luv seeing all our garden beds getting fixed up for lazy summer days.
But, (sigh) now we have another day indoors just wishing...

How are you doing this evening? It is a very chilly one here and we are all bummed out. Just a few days ago it was in the 80's and we were all getting our suntan lotion out. I guess we jumped the gun a little bit. Hehehe.!!! Well, now we can all take advantage of some snuggle time with Mom and she even said we could watch our Cat DVD tomorrow. I am really looking forward to that. It is the next best thing to being in the yard. Purrs and kitty kisses, Greycee Mist...

Good news - mom's tooth feels fine again. It does that once in awhile. Must mean it's ready for a MAJOR ache soon...:(

Wow, you were in Michigan a couple days ago. So where are you today?

Happy Caturday! Another try-to-catch-up day for us here. We'll be lucky to make much progress, since mom is really only waiting to go outside and get some serious yard work started. It's supposed to warm up to the mid- to upper 70's today. Perfect weather to start some yard clean-up. She already cleaned out the birdbaths last weekend, and let me tell ya, those little feather dusters make a mess out there! They fling water everywhere! But they are kind of fun to watch.

Mom and dad are talking about building us an outdoor enclosure. I think that would be great! They have to draw plans and stuff, but they already know where they want to put it, and it would be so much fun to be outside in the sun!

We hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend! Purrs

Hey, Gypsy-cats, where are you now?
Hope you are enjoying dry roads and clear skies, kitties.
We finally have been able to help out with gardening. The weather has been nice, well, until this morning. Mom refused to go outside because it was not even 50º out. She also complained (what a whiner!) that since she'd turned off the furnace it was 57º inside and too cold to do anything. I am glad she got the heat back up because one of my choice spots is by the heat under the birdwatching window... best of 2 worlds.
I have a favor to ask. Our furrend Paul the Orange cat has been away from cc since his dear Pooky crossed the Rainbow Bridge. And now he's here again and having a COTD campaign. Maybe you know him? He's another one of those handsome tomcats...

Oh, serious!
Whenever mom sees a big gorgeous motor home going down the highway she just turns three shades of green with envy! Of course, she's probably just envying the fact that someone can afford to put gas in the thing! MOL! She figures she could either afford to buy it, OR put gas in it, but not both. So it's kind of a Catch-22 sort of thing. But she can still dream. I think all of us would love being on the open road, cruising down the highway in our luxury liner, our able staff at the wheel, stopping at all the best roadside attractions and making sure to acquire for us any edible souvenirs that might be available. Ahhh, sweet! See? I can dream, too! Scary when mom and I are dreaming about the same thing. Haha!
