How We Met

Yellow came into our yard about the first of the summer of 2010. She was declawed and we thought, neutered. Nearly all of her orange tabby hair had fallen out of her body with the exception of her face. She had a little hair on the end of her tail and she looked like a lion with a mane. She was skinny and my husband began feeding her. As she got better and less skiddish, she began to be dominant over our cat Sox. We would see Yellow chasing Sox in the back of our yard and at first, we thought they were playing. But more and more, Sox stayed out at the back of the yard at our treehouse porch. Yellow followed my husband around in the yard like a dog. Everywhere he was, she was. I began to take up time with her because since I was not the one feeding her, she ran from me. As her hair began to return, she began looking like other orange tabbys. And she became more friendly. We had decided on one Friday to take her on to the vet on Monday and get her some shots and assure she had been neutered. That was not to be, however, because the next morning, my husband went out side and found her dead. Something had bitten her on the back of her body and she was gone. She was buried in our "pet cemetery" early September of 2010.
