How We Met

my aunt had kittens that needed to be checked on while she was in the hospital. liabelle was one of them and she was an extremely ugly kitten. she was the runt of the litter and her eyes wouldn't open all the way. this continued as she got ran over, sat on and left behind by her kitty family. She also wouldnt put her tongue all the way in her mouth either. she was very affectionate and the first one in her litter to purr. i was afraid of what would happen to a very trusting mostly blind runt and i found my self thinking that i didnt care if i had to raise her in a shoebox, i wasnt going to let anything happen to her. then the day i went to try and get her eyes open (i was seriously distraught over the prospect of this) and i looked at her, and her eyes were all the way open. she was the cutest thing ive ever seen. her eyes that were two little side ways commas in the center of her face were now open all the way and i could see her little amber eyes. her forehead didnt seem as large and some how she even blinked cute. she would roll on her back and show us her round little belly and it was not possible not to rub the fuzzy little tennis ball belly while she purred and stared with her big baby belle eyes. seriously shes all eyes now, her head stayed tiny. when it was time for the kittens to find homes, liabelle and her brother came to live with us. we brought them in and carefully set them on the bed next to our 1 yr old male pineapple (check him out) and tentatively watched the first interactions of our newly expanded home. while her brother anxiously meowed and searched for thier mother, liabelle went to pineapple, mushed her face into chest (after being home for less than 10 seconds) and started purring. he ran, she followed. in less than 10 seconds she decided that she was his kitty and for 4 years she still acts likes he's her mother. dont get me wrong, she loves everything, she was bred to, but he is above and beyond all other things to her and doesnt have the slightest hope of escape (she stalks his every move). not only is she not the alpha of the house, she flat out belongs to another cat.

cutie pie had a nightmare. she woke up and started meowing and chattering but wouldn't leave her spot. she was looking for us and eventually found us in the living room. she got cuddles from me and pineapple and laid down with him with her little face in his tummy like he was her mommy kitty even though she's 4 years old. i felt bad that she was scared but she was so adorable!

i love my cutie pie. she's figured out that computer time is "jump on the top of mommy's chair and cuddle her head" time. it slows my work down but she's so silky soft and purry.

i feel so fortunate to have liabelle in my life. she loves everything and everybody and isn't really capable of doing otherwise. it hurts my heart to know that there are people that would hurt her. animal cruelty is a horrible thing.

i love holding her baby style and rocking her. she loves it too it's nice. she has no maternal skills (it's good she's fixed) but she has the "im the baby belle and you love me" thing down

our liabelle is our babybelle because she likes to be held like a baby. tonight she was chattering away and trying to roll on her back while reaching out for me. i picked her up (not an easy feat, she's 15 lbs and is like a bag of pudding) and cradled and gently rocked her while she purred away. shes so silky and it is hard to feel bad about anything or get mad at her when she's that cute, all the time
