My favorite grubs: I love my canned food. Mom mixes it with water until it's a smooth soup, then holds the saucer for me while I lick it up. Yup, every day! I can't have treats because of my illness, so I guess Mom feels sorry for me. ;)
My pet peeves: People who think they can touch me whenever they feel like it. What's up with that?? The other thing is my Mom feeding theses feral cats in the backyard - really bums me out. She traps them and takes them away to the vet to get fixed, then BRINGS THEM BACK! Is she out of her mind? At least she's started feeding them around the side of the house now, so I don't have to watch all that nonsense.
What I love about my owners: My mom & dad have treated me for chronic kidney disease since before I was 3 years old. The vet said I wouldn't live past 7, but here I am!! Mom & dad give me fluids and medicine everyday, and I'm very cooperative - it's the least I can do. And anyway, it's nice to have their undivided attention while I get my treatments. :)

How We Met
Iris had been given up by her owners when she was 1 year old. We met her at an adoption event, and her Daddy picked her out as a cute little spunky girl. She'd had at least two owners in her short little life, which we suspect was traumatic. For 6 months, she ate everything we put in her bowl immediately, as if there might never be another meal. One of her teeth was broken right off. She'd been living with two guys, and the story was that one of the guys didn't like her very much - from her behavior, it seems that she may have been abused. Ten years later, here she is the queen of the house - her Daddy says she "hit the jackpot" when she met us. And I say "... as it should be!!!".
