Walking one foot in front of the other--Foot facts “As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives.” -Henry David Thoreau .......²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²². ...... 1. The human foot contains 26 bones, 33 joints, 107 ligaments and 19 muscles. 2. Your feet mirror your general health. Conditions such as arthritis, diabetes, nerve and circulatory disorders can show their initial symptoms in the feet --so foot ailments can be our first sign of more serious medical problems. Biomechanical fault and strain affect the knees, joints and L5. 3. There are 250,000 sweat glands in a pair of feet. Sweat glands in the foot excrete as musch as a half pint of moisture a day. 4. The average person takes 8,000 to 10,000 steps a day, which adds up to about 115,000 miles ove a lifetime. That's enough to go around the circumference of the earth four times. Hi Sissy, This is Kokomo's Mom. Kokomo was a very special, loyal and one of the most lovable Siamese Cats that I've ever had. He took care of his coat (I only combed him once in a while) and he did a great job of it even when he was sick. I will miss him so as will his Brother, Koda. Please stop by and see Koda cause he loves company too. Before we go we're gonna vote for you. Bye for now.Come visit me, Kokomo R.I.P. Federal & state holiday Friday ~11:11:11~(Veteran's-Armistice-Remembrance Day~ On November 11th, we remember the brave fallen. We owe so much to the sacrifices of a very few. **End of WWI in 1918: A day for Reflection** In 1918, at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, hostilities between the Western Allies and Germany ceased, effectively ending what was until then the bloodiest conflict in human history. The phrase “at the 11th hour” is biblical (Matthew 20:6 — “And about the eleventh hour) and it is understood to mean “at the very last possible minute.” After the war, a park was created at the site called the Clairiere de L’Armistice (the Clearing of the Armistice). A concrete pavilion was built to house the rail car, and a statue of Foch was erected along with a plaque that read: “Here on the eleventh of November 1918 succumbed the criminal pride of the German empire ... vanquished by the free peoples which it tried to enslave.” °l11|11|11l°(A Palindromic Moment)°l11|11|11l° **Symmetry makes us feel safe and balanced. Nov. 11, 2011, the date when three 11s will align for the first time in a century. There's nothing unusual about the time 11:11 or the date 11/11/11 except the unofficial start of the 2012 metaphysical year. **Mathematics The number eleven, as the sixth prime number, has a special characteristic in mathematics. It contains some interesting peculiarities where the number eleven multiplied by itself equals a palindrome (remains the same when its digits are reversed): (2 digits) 11 x 11 = 121 (6 digits) 111111 x 111111 = 12345654321 (9 digits) 111111111 x 111111111 = 12345678987654321 (> ” ” <)..........Here's your vote, FurFriend ( =’o'= ) (,,) - (,,) - ChloeCome visit me, Team RAGDOLL PAWesome PURRsonality #235194, :¦:Chloe:•:(¯`v´¯):•- :208036:¦: & Team CHLOE, a PAWSitively PURRfect NAME #234964.

NY-size iceberg +------------- (NASA's Operation IceBridge)------------+ Scientists based in Punta Arena, Chile are in their third field campaign of the largest six-year airborne survey of Earth’s polar ice ever flown. The mission is geared to produce unparalleled 3D views of Arctic and Antarctic ice sheet, ice shelves and sea ice. Instruments onboard the DC-8, a flying laboratory, include a suite of radars. Its precision topography maps with a laser than scans 360 degrees 20 times per second, while firing 3,000 laser pulses per second. The Digital Mapping System, a nadir-view camera, gathered high-definition close-ups of an enormous and unstable split. The Western Antarctica's Pine Island Glacier is one of the largest and fastest-moving glaciers in Antarctica. On the flight perpendicular to the crack, the McCORDS radar also measured its depth and the thickness of the ice shelf in that region. The crack, formed between the end of September and early October, is fairly dramatic. When the iceberg breaks free, it will cover about 340 square miles (larger than NY City or the size of Berlin) of surface area. Radar measurements suggested the ice shelf in the region of the rift is about 1,640 feet thick, with only about 160 feet of that floating above water and the rest submerged. With the crack widening every day, the iceberg will form when it breaks away. This is expected to take place at the end of the year or in early 2012. The ice shelf thins, the grounding line retreats and the speed of the glacier increases. The ice sheets of Greenland and Antarctica are melting at an accelerating pace, and may soon become the biggest contributor and source of uncertainty to global sea level rise projections. If current rates of ice loss were to continue, sea level could rise by as much as three feet or more before the end of this century. The last big cyclical carving event occurred in 2001. Satellites, ICESAT (Ice, Cloud and land Elevation Satellite), ended in February 2010, and ICESAT 2, will launch in 2016, is the benchmark Earth Observing System mission intends to continue the assessment of polar ice changes and their relationship with climate. |__|_||||_|||¯|_|¯|_ _|¯|_|¯||||¯|_|¯|__|¯||||¯|_|¯|_ _|¯|_|¯||_| ¸.•*´¨`*•. ¸¸.•*´¨`*•. ¸¸.•*´¨`*•. ¸¸.•*´¨`*•.¸.•*´¨`*•. ¸¸.•*´¨`*•. ¸¸.•*´¨`*•. _|_|_|_||||_|_|_|__|_||||_|_|_|__|_|_|_||_|_||||__- |_|__|_||||_| www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/icebridge/news/fall11/ pig-break.html http://antarcticsun.usap.gov/science/ contenthandler.cfm?id=2536 (> ” ” <)....Here's your vote ( =’o'= ) (,,) - (,,) - Chloe, 9/26/11 COTDCome visit me, Team RAGDOLL PAWesome PURRsonality #235194, :¦:Chloe:•:(¯`v´¯):•- :208036:¦: & Team CHLOE, a PAWSitively PURRfect NAME #234964.

Meteors in annual showers originate as grains of dust or ice in space, left behind by comets. After midnight, the part of Earth you’re standing on has turned so that you face head on into the incoming stream of space debris. So you typically see more meteors after midnight – unless the moon happens to rise in the middle of the night. Although the moon may wash out some Leonid meteors, it acts as your guide to the meteor shower radiant and the red planet Mars. The annual Leonid meteor shower ramps up a few additional streaks of light and gets underway in November 6. With the Moon currently waxing toward Full, the best views will come before dawn tomorrow and Tuesday in the hour or two after the Moon sets. Fall back tonight *"The times they are a-changing." -Bob Dylan ¨‘°ºOOº°‘¨ ¨‘°ºOOº°‘¨"Time meanwhile flies, never to return" -Virgil ***"Lost time is never found again" -Benjamin Franklin ¨‘°ºOOº°‘¨Back to Standard Time on 11/5/11¨‘°ºOOº°‘¨¨ We gain an hour of sleep this weekend!! Dayllight savings comes to an end at 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning. With the clocks turned back, it will be less dark in the morning but darkness will fall earlier in the evening. Arizona, Hawaii and Puerto Rico stay on standard time all year round. The concept of daylight-saving time may have first been proposed by Benjamin Franklin in 1784 to the Parisians. The thought was that Americans would appreciate an extra hour of sunlight and conserve energy (candles and oil back then). Transitions may disrupt chronobiologic rhythms and influence the duration and quality of sleep as the effect lasts for several days after the shift. People who suffer with sleep disorders seem to find the bi-annual transitions more difficult. The extra hour of sleep means a lost hour of afternoon sun, which increases reliance on electricity and decreases the potential for, vitamin D-giving outdoor activities. Nearly half of the world’s population has lower than optimal levels of vitamin D, often called the sunshine vitamin. ¨‘°ºOOº°‘¨¨‘°ºOOº°‘¨Until March 11, 2012¨‘°ºOOº°‘¨¨‘°ºOOº°‘¨ ¨‘°ºOOº°‘¨"Time is valuable, and when it is gone, it is gone. By 1927, that figure doubled. In just over 30 years, it hit 3 billion. Population figures have doubled in the last 50 years. Every 24 hours on our planet some 237,000 people are born and 140,000 die. Nearly half the world’s population is under the age of 25 and entering their childbearing years. The United Nation's figures come with a 1-2% margin of error. On October 31, the world's 7 billionth person will be born. A world of 7 billion poses many challenges, implications for sustainability, urbanization, access to health services and youth empowerment and countless opportunities to make a positive difference. The UN's reason for naming a symbolic date as 7 Billion Day is to draw attention to the speed of population growth, with less than 13 years having passed between the six-billion and seven-billion milestones. The literal meaning of aloha is “the presence of breath” or “the breath of life.” “Alo,” = presence, front and face “ha,” meaning breath. It can mean hello or goodbye. It also means love and affection. The word aloha is used in a combination with other words: aloha kakahiaka = good morning aloha auinala used = good afternoon; and aloha ahiahi = good evening in Hawaiian.
