Education: Maggie fetches peanuts etc. and brings the object back to whoever tossed it.She also jumps up at least 3 feet into the air to catch objects(prefera- bly peanuts of course).A while ago, when we weren't so interested in playing with peanuts, Maggie found a bag of peanuts on the counter and brought us a peanut.She placed it on the couch next to me so she can start playing!
My favorite tricks and treats are: Yes, besides jumping high, she does yoga with me(Yoga 101).She likes to play like a dog where I roll her around on the floor and rub her belly. She uses a special meow when she wants to play.Also, when I stand by the front door looking out, she tells me (ok meows loudly) she wants to be picked up so she can look too. and Cucumbers and tomato
Where I hang out: Either on mom's lap, next to mom on the couch on mom's legs or on the very top of my castle (tall tree house)
My favorite grubs: Watermelon, strawberries,ki- wi,cantaloupe,o- r
any green veggie Mom eats. I make sure I don't miss anything yummy that she eats!
My pet peeves: When my sibling Tony, a large cat who looks like a panther, does no-no things and Dad has to remind him not to do that, I start "talking" to Tony or may even run up to him to stop him.
What I love about my owners: She plays and grooms and pets me all the time.She makes sure Ginger and Tony get attention too, but it's then when I get very jealous and will plant myself right between my mom and the "other" cat and perhaps stare until she/he jumps off my mom's lap!!So, there.
My cat hobbies: Besides fetching? playing endlessly with da bird or cuddling with her sister,Ginger, in one cat bed.
MAGGIE-August 2012- under King Bennie's reign, had the honor of serving as the "CONSERVATION OFFICER"
Pet motto: "Bringing about a time of No More Homeless Pets"..OK so I read a lot and write a lot.. My book is coming out soon...Well, ok, ghost writer.
GINGER- she is my littermate sister. She is a very beautiful long haired Calico and we have been best friends since birth for six years on April 15, 2013.
Last December, when she had a regular exam, the new vet, who is a kitty specialist, heard a heart murmur. Mom and Dad took her to the kitty Cardiologist for an echocardiogram and it showed end stage Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. Ginger
has, he said, between 6-12 months. We are loving her so much every day and make sure she takes all her medications and doesn't exert herself too much. We don't submit to the belief of generalization of prognoses. Ginger will live as long as she lives. We also feel that Ginger is teaching us a very big lesson, to live in the moment and to appreciate our blessings now.

How We Met
Hey! I think my cats own me.No, really they are my animal companions. We met when I rescued two litters outside when the mother was very difficult to catch. So was her daughter.Wow! I was trying to keep up with TNR. It was a matter of manipulating my time, the vet's time and cat's willingness to go into the trap. So, I brought them in when they were about 4 wks old, before the mom moved them.So, I was going to socialize them and then get them adopted. This was a difficult assignment. Bottle feeding the kittens every 2 hrs around the clock took up all my free time and left me very tired.Then all 6 kittens walking thru their food(soft-runny- ) and then into their litter box and then back again!Oh sure, the milk(for cats) got walked into as well. So, to fill up the rest of the time, I cleaned up after them at least 5 times a day. So, even then Maggie stood out as a smart kitten, Ginger(longhair Calico) was beautiful and Tony(my 20 lb panther-black kitty)was constantly looking and hoarding food. So, as they became old enough to be adopted, 3 kitties were given to good homes.Even though my husband said, after our 20 yr old and 21 yr old kitties passed on, we were going travel, no way. I first dropped this little tuxedo in his lap(Mission accomplished-Ma- ggie was going to be part of our family).When 2 kittens where left and a friend was interested in adopting, I just couldn't! So, long story short we're back to a 3 kitten family.

♥ Honoring our fur mama, BABY KNIGHT'S 13286 Three Year Forever Sleep on Monday, May 20th!!!!

♥ Well, the Yard Sale is over til after the first of June, but not the work for mom and dad as they will still be going thru the storage shed next with throwing things away and saving things for the next sale!!!! The last two days of the sale never even made $40 for both days!!!!
♥ Mom and dad has been doing a bunch of weeding in the front yard in between customers during the sale and rain. Today, mom went in the back yard and scooped out the big 3X5 (used to be 5X5) sand`litter box then she got her new weedeater assembled, as she had to take the other one back to Wal*Mart then went to Lowes and got one there instead. She got the front yard weedeated then she mowed the front yard.
♥ Mom did open dad's bedroom window this morning so we could be out in the cattery. It was nice getting the fresh air.

Oahu ...
Lovely Hawaiian ladies place leis on our necks as we disembark in Honolulu. These are a special gift of aloha - welcome, and love. The ladies receive those made of white ginger or jasmine … our choice. I love jasmine; my choice is simple. Oh, the beautiful fragrance. No wonder everyone wants one of these when in Hawaii. For the men, there are leis of kukui nuts. With our shirts and dresses from Hilo Hatties, we are ready to explore the final island of our Hawaiian adventure.
Here, Hawaii’s timeless beauty blends with the modern luxuries of today. We can swim in the warm waters of world-famous Waikiki one moment, then enjoy the dramatic mountain views of the Nuuanu Pali Lookout another; watch the surfers on the legendary North Shore by day, then dance the night away in vibrant nightlife spots around Honolulu; get a taste of local flavors in Kapahulu one night, then dine at a Five Diamond Hawaii Regional Cuisine restaurant the next.
Our first visit is to 350 acre Diamond Head crater, one of the best-known volcanic craters in the world, whose vantage point offers some incredible panoramas of Honolulu. We choose to start early to avoid the heat of the sun. Diamond Head State Monument encompasses over 475 acres, including the interior and outer slopes of the crater. This broad, saucer-shaped crater was formed about 300,000 years ago during a single, explosive eruption that sent ash and fine particles in the air. As these materials settled, they cemented together into a rock called tuff. The panoramic views of Waikiki and Oahu's south shore from the top are impressive. We will have many gorgeous photos for our memory books. We learn the crater was named Diamond Head by 19th century British sailors who thought they discovered diamonds on the crater's slopes. These "diamonds" were actually shiny calcite crystals that had no value. The volcanic crater, a major Oahu landmark, has been extinct for 150,000 years.
Next we travel to Iolani Palace, the only royal palace in the US. It was the official residence of King Kalakaua and Queen Liliuokalani, the last king and queen to rule Hawaii; the monarchy was abolished in 1893. We take the guided tour, which leaves us thinking our own Castle on CC is just as impressive and much more inviting to fun-loving kitties.

Please vote Rosie #252822 for COTD on Monday, 5/20
Recently a cat loving family had their red female cat, Angel Rhuby cross over the Rainbow Bridge. The cat mom of this family decided she would like to adopt another red female and as luck would have it, there was Rosie at the Petsmart Adoption Center. Rosie #252822 and her new mom bonded instantly and Rosie came to her new home that day. Rosie was at the shelter for over two months and was a bit wild. She didn't like being kept in a cage and would fight with the shelter workers when they tried to put her back in her cage. This was a big reason why Rosie #252822 wasn't adopted sooner; she was scared and the people looking at her were not patient with her until her new mom came along. Now at her new home Rosie #252822 is a cuddle cat with her daddy and loves to play with her brother Yogi. She gets along with the rest of her furry siblings and is a happy cat. Rosie #252822 will not eat dry food but she will eat any kind of wet food. She doesn't like dry treats either! Rosie loves to play with her furry mouse and the laser light. Rosie #252822 is happily spoiled now in her new home and we are very happy she has found a wonderful loving home. Rosie would be so honored to have a COTD badge to display on her page. Molokai
Serene seascapes, unspoiled coastlines, untamed wilderness. We visit Molokai & travel back to a timeless place. This is an island that stays true to its Hawaiian traditions - tucked away from the hustle of the outside world; where no building is taller than a coconut tree; there’s no traffic & no traffic lights; where you can feel the power of Hawaiian culture from an area near Maunaloa, said to be the birthplace of hula, to the natural wonders of Halawa Valley.
Molokai is only 38 miles long and 10 miles across at its widest point. It is a friendly & family-oriented island that has deep connections with its Hawaiian ancestors. Unlike the visitor industry on the larger Hawaiian Islands, Molokai has preserved its true Hawaiian culture. More than one third of this island's residents have over 50% Hawaiian blood. Molokai residents farm, fish, hunt & gather many of their basic needs & they enjoy this lifestyle. Here we need to slow down, be less demanding, & respect the Molokai way of life. Molokai is the real deal. We are visiting the true Hawaii. We will enjoy & respect Molokai & her people.
Lining the northeast coast are the towering cliffs of the North Shore Pali. At 3,600 to 3,900 feet from sea base to top, they are the tallest sea cliffs in the world; their near-vertical plunge ends 2000 feet below sea level. We step cautiously to the edge to peek over. Whoa, that’s a drop! Later in the day, we do some ocean kayaking along the face of the cliffs; this is amazing beyond belief! We also discover secret, secluded beaches, sea birds, & cascading waterfalls which provide incredible, photogenic scenery
We then hike into the East End’s classic cathedral valley to see Hawaii back in time. It is believed ancient Polynesians settled in lush Halawa Valley as early as 650 AD. This area, half a mile wide and three to four miles deep, and blessed with beautiful vistas and towering waterfalls, is one of the island's most historic areas. Roughly two miles up the trail is the impressive, double-tiered 250-foot Moa’ula Falls. If you’re considering taking a dip into the pool, drop a ti leaf into the water first. Hawaiian legend says that a giant moo (lizard) lives at the bottom of the pool. If the ti leaf sinks, the moo is in no mood for visitors. If the ti leaf floats, it’s safe to enter. Our ti leaves are forming a veritable flotilla, and we slip gratefully into the refreshing pool. Soon we are splashing and playing like … well, kitties.
We have been invited to a luau by the residents of a small village near Maunaloa, birthplace of the hulu. After dining on succulent roast pig, and all the tasty side dishes, we are given grass skirts to put on for a hula lesson. Soon we are dancing and telling the stories of the island, looking almost like natives.

Prayers continue from all of us for Ginger. Oscar's sister has cardiomyopathy and it was recommended she be put to sleep in 2010. Her mama said no, and the sweet kitty is alive today and doing well. She celebrated her 14th birthday in March!Come visit me, Cody, T-Kitty & Seven.

This sweet kitty joined the angels in February 2013 after losing his battle with complications that developed after being hit by a car the month before. He’d survived having both legs broken & surgery, but was unable to walk & had to drag himself to the litterbox. He was very brave & stayed a very sweet boy during all of the pain, infections, examinations & becoming a foster; but the angels knew that his life would not be a full one with his disabilities & thus called him home. Please pounce by to paw ANGEL CRASH #248838 a vote today so that his foster mom will have a fond memory to cherish & so that this sweet angel can earn the honor of making his star the most brilliant in the night sky tomorrow night.
Congratulations to our newest royal cat QUEEN SPUNKY #161265!! Your campaign about the details of cat shows was stupendous & we learned a lot about how things work for the fabulous show cats. We’re looking forward to some California sunshine during May as you reign from your house on the beach & look forward to hearing more letters to God from beloved pets. hi maggie
well momma is at lunch now and gonna visit a bit. we are having great weather now. it is 81 and real pretty day. momma had a good mother's day as she went down and spent the day with gma.
we have been playing and such just being lazy kitties,
hhmmm, me thinks shaddy be kinda strange. he was laying in momma's lap and she was petting him and he wanted to play a bit, but then he started gettin his own tail now, and was grabbing and biting it and he started quarrelling at himself and even hissed at himself and then jumped down to the floor now is that strange or what!!!!!!!
we have missed our friends, but money got a bit tight with daddy out of work a whole month and momma says she has to get it built back up afore the home puter can be seen too

A Word With Whiskers – May 15
CAT FUNNIES :) - Volume 1

A Cat Heaven -

One day a cat dies of natural causes and goes to Heaven. There he meets the Lord himself. The Lord says to the cat, "You lived a good life and if there is any way I can make your stay in Heaven more comfortable, please let Me know."
The cat thinks for a moment and says, "Lord, all my life I have lived with a poor family and had to sleep on a hard wooden floor." The Lord stops the cat and says, "Say no more," and a wonderful fluffy pillow appears.
A few days later six mice are killed in a tragic farming accident and go to Heaven. Again the Lord is there to greet them with the same offer. The mice answer, "All of our lives we have been chased. We have had to run from cats, dogs, and even women with brooms. Running, running, running; we're tired of running. Do you think we could have roller skates so we don't have to run anymore?" The Lord says, "Say no more," and fits each mouse with beautiful new roller skates.
About a week later the Lord stops by to see the cat and finds him in a deep sleep on the pillow. The Lord gently wakes the cat and asks him, "How are things since you arrived?"
The cat stretches and yawns and replies, "It is wonderful here. Better than I could have ever expected. And those Meals on Wheels you've been sending by are theeeeeeee best!!!"
The Cat Scan –

A man runs into the vet's office carrying his dog, screaming for help. The vet rushes him back to an examination room and has him put his dog down on the examination table. The vet examines the still, limp body and after a few moments, tells the man that his dog, regrettably, is dead. The man, clearly agitated and not willing to accept this, demands a second opinion.
The vet goes into the back room and comes out with a cat and puts the cat down next to the dog's body. The cat sniffs the body, walks from head to tail, poking and sniffing the dog's body and finally looks at the vet and meows.
The vet looks at the man and says, "I'm sorry, but the cat thinks that your dog is dead, too."
The man, finally resigned to the diagnosis, thanks the vet and asks how much he owes. The vet answers, "$350."
"$350 to tell me my dog is dead?!" exclaims the man.
"Well," the vet replies, "I would only have charged you $50 for my initial diagnosis. The additional $300 was for the cat scan."

♥ Our SPECIAL Message by SISSEE 11531 tonight!
♥ This year, we would like to do something different with our 10th Year Adoptiversaries by introducing a SPECIAL kitty to you! While mom and dad was cleaning and going thru everything in the back room, mom came across a picture that she couldn’t find for a long time and thought it was gone forever. This picture is of a precious tiny kitten and will remain in mom’s heart♥. This tiny kitten’s name was PRINCESS KNIGHT and she was mine, Suezee’s & Rhoamin’s littermate sister.
♥ When we were just tiny kittens, running wild & free under our fur mama Baby’s 13286 care when PRINCESS found a way to our neighbors’ yard [mid July 2003] who has a Yellow Lab. That Lab was let out in their back yard and he seen PRINCESS. Mom & dad heard the little screams of pain & came running out in the back yard. The neighbor got a hold of their dog and dad went over the fence to get PRINCESS, but it was too late for her as dad handed her to mom. Mom was in such tears. PRINCESS was only 10 weeks young when she was killed. To this day, that dog is still next door to us so mom always worries us outside kitties.

Hello Maggie
Thank you for your kind words, prayers & sweet thoughts. Like many of you, Mommy knows all too well about kidney disease. Her Dot passed away at the age of 17 from kidney disease & hyperthyroidism in October 2000. Mommy had hoped it would be a very long time before she was faced with this awful disease again. She will do her very best to give me the greatest care possible & lots of TLC.
I am eating the k/d canned and dry foods pretty well so far. Mommy says it is extremely difficult having one baby on a special diet. But we are doing our best with this situation & taking it one day at a time.
Thanks again for your prayers & concern. We really do appreciate it. Job 12:10 says “In God’s hands is the life of every creature.” We believe this to be true.

so...
how was your weekend and mom's day? we celebrated that once janet was home from work and master/nat had run a few errands and brought home a rotisserre chicken (janet can't spell this morning excuse any of the mistakes) and they had either chicken salad from the previous night or left over potato salad which is what janet had. she didn't feel to good, allergies to pine/grass are coming out after oak/birch were just getting through. also a cold front (the second) came through and she just got nailed with that and allergies! got 1/2 of the weeding done too and the other half will get done today. sports day is wednesday! sandy,ana,haley,angelsCome visit me, ana, haley, malachi is my boyfriend! whiskerscotm & sandy, angels, vote whiskers cotm!.

Good Morning Maggie
Princess Diaries: Do not worry about blogging us back you just take care of your Mom...Here are more of my Magical Purrs for your Mom, we hope surgery goes well...Keeping your Mom in our thoughts and sending her positive healing thoughts...Today we had our first really warm day...Of course when you live on the shore there is almost always an ocean breeze so it is cooler by the beach...The temp was 72 today and off shore they actually hit 80... I wish the temperature would stay like this thru the summer...We hate when it's hot and humid and today it was purrfect...Of course the downside of this nice weather is Daddy will be playing golf a lot...Today was his first golf day of the season (he has a set Friday date with a buddy when weather permits) but he made sure to have lunch with Mommy & I first...Of course he surprised us with a big box of huge Strawberries and Chocolate...Do you think he was bribing us?...MOL...Duh!!!...Daddy thinks he's slick what he doesn't know is Mommy and I think he deserves to play Golf but we like to tease him about leaving us all alone...Mommy says she is a golf widow and I am the poor child being deserted for better things....HKL, the woman can really pour it on....Daddy says Mommy is so silly, personally I think she is pretty funny...After lunch he and Mommy made Chocolate Covered Strawberries together and then Daddy fed me a nice, juicy , "plain" Strawberry...Oh how I wanted the Chocolate one but we all know Chocolate is "TOXIC" to kitties...Anywho, it was Daddy's first time feeding me a Strawberry...Mommy usually gives me my Strawberry fix...Daddy said I was so funny slurping it up and rubbing it all over my whiskers and cheeks and then rubbing my face all over his hands...Mommy actually took a video of it and then she posted it on the FB/CC Survivors Page today...Is nothing sacred in my family...What am I going to do with the woman's need to blab all my personal and private moments to the whole world...I have come to the conclusion Mommy is incorrigible...Well, it's never a dull moment around my house...I think Mommy & Daddy are both amusing, at least to me...MOL...This almost ends this weeks episode of " The Princess Diaries "....This weeks quote is so very true except when it concerns STRAWBERRIES..." a happy mother's day this morning! janet got up and start-ed blogging before 3 seeing she couldn't go back to sleep once her brain starts on something than she starts to get the dreaded night sweats and thinks since the backs of her pjs were damp she must've had one in a deep sleep last night too. she's working which is why we're here so early once again, but for time and a half added to your paycheck it really helps and makes a difference and she might be just having one day a week off again soon too for another day of extra pay as he boss asked her to help them out since it's vacation time starting two are off this week, but she's off two days as they've coverage in the salad bar. sports day is wednesday this week. sandy,ana,haley,angelsCome visit me, ana, haley, malachi is my boyfriend! whiskerscotm & sandy, angels, vote whiskers cotm!.

we'll have
lower to mid 70s with boomers/rain here today, then cooling down to the mid to upper 60s tomorrow for mom's day and janet's working as usual, and 50s to near 60 on mon and upper 60s tues after a frosty (yes a frosty) start and lower 70s on wednesday with showers thurs-sat next week, but we'll still need the rain! sandy,ana,haley, angels

Hi!
Papa said he found out Oscar had cardiomyopathy when he took him to the Vet as he limping after escaping to the outside one day. During the exam, where Oscar had been attacked by something outside, the Vet discovered a heart murmur. Oscar would have sonograms 2 times a year, and Atenolol for his medication. He was doing great until almost 7 years later when he was noticed to have labored breathing. The Vet called it hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Papa took Oscar in to have fluid drained about twice a week.Come visit me, Cody, T-Kitty & Seven.

Friday purrs from the NICE Crew
Happy Friday everycat! It's a very cool, wet day around here & mom's sinuses are causing her head to hurt so I've got to make this short & sweet so we can convince her she needs to take a nap with us.
I was whacking at Fluffernut earlier today because she keept trying to take away the toy I dragged out of the basket to play with. Trixie saw the commotion & got her attention so that she'd race with her for a while before I did her bodily harm that would have her hiding under the bed the rest of the day...MOL! Zaboo gave all of us 'the look' a few minutes ago so we're now snuggled on our favorite blankets with dreamland right around the corner. YAWN...cloudy day + orneriness= 4 very sleepy kitties...MOL!
Well got to go because my eyes are getting very heavy & Zaboo is giving mom a hint that naptime is here by trying to lay on her laptop as she types.
Just a reminder that we won't be doing anything but daily voting until Monday.
