hello to all...
stopping by to catch up a bit on some blogs and also to wish each and every one of you and your families a very HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!! I also want to take the time to congratulate all of the recent COTD and COTM and others, winners!! Also to send a pray to those who are sick and ill and condolensces to those who we have lost and have gone on to the bridge. Well what an awful February we have had so far. What an awful YEAR we have had so far,,,weather wise here that is!! If is hasn't been raining and cold it has been snowing and cold!! Last weekend we had over 5 inches of snow and just 3 or 4 days before that we had record rainfall. The creek around the house was overflowing and running across the culvert in the driveway looked and sounded like Niagra Falls!!! The sound was horrendous as well. Luckily we are high up so we were not flooded or any thing. We are all sending love and condolensces as well as hugs and prayers for all of you up north who have been affected by the recent weather as well. Mommie worries about the animals more than she does the humans but we all know she has a heart for both. Well yesterday was my Poppie's birthday!! Mommie baked him a home made sugar free cake and made sugar free home made icing. It was so good. Tasted just as good that was loaded down with sugar. But I couldnt eat the icing because it was chocolate. But Mommie gave me some of the inside. Poppie got me a new toy for Valentines day and got Mommie and box of candy. Poppie is always thinking of us. Well, looks like another storm is brewing here and Mommie said get off of the 'puter before lightning hits. So I guess this is signing off now until next time. We stopped by to thank you for your kind words of support & encouragement to our foster boy Crash! He was doing pretty good, then the pin in one of his broken hind legs, moved, and came through his inner thigh! Mom freaked!! There was SO MUCH blood! She rushed him back to the shelter, to the vet that did the surgery...he spent 2 days there, and last night he came back home! Whew! What a scare! Mom is afraid that he will have the have his other leg removed, because as even the vet said "it's a train wreck!" (car crash) Just waiting to see if he can get the other leg strong enough to carry him... He's such a great cat and we still need lots of prayers! It was very special to have COTD on New Years and was a day I will never fur-get. How are you, sweet friend?
Besides voting daily for cotd/cotm, we have been offline for a long time. We missed you all very much and are sooooo glad to be back.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for not forgetting about us while we were away. It meant so much to mom and all of us when you brought the goodies over to help Abby celebrate her 10th birthday, which was on Oct. 20th. And then....COTD the next day!!
It is embarrassing to be sending our thanks this late, but better now than never, right?
Being in the COTD window again was a big honor to us, and we are so grateful for such wonderful friends. We love you all!

What’s mew with you? The big mews here is that our house renovations are FINALLY complete. Yippeee! It seems like that took FUREVER!
Now Mommy needs to get busy & put up our outside Christmas decorations. This year she splurged and bought two battery operated on a timer wreaths for our front doors & 2 battery operated on a timer trees for the front porch entryway. That woman has gotten lazy! We will have to take pictures once Mommy gets those put up & then you can see how purrty “mew” house.
We will be waiting until the Spring to have our yard landscaped & the full-house generator installed. Mommy says we have been traumatized enough for now.

What’s mew with you? Same old stuff here. Since several of you have asked, today I will give you a little update on our house renovations (thanks to Hurricane Isaac). The painters started on our house 2 weeks ago. First, they power washed the Arkansas stone on our house & the shop/pool house. Then they sanded the Hardyboard siding around the eaves of our house & the shop. Next they put primer on everything, and Tuesday they finally started painting. They will paint the Hardyboard all the way around the eaves of the house, the 2 front doors, the 2 garage doors, 3 back doors & the whole shop/pool house. They said it would take several more weeks to do because both buildings are so large. The painters are much quieter, less messy & more respectful than the roofers (thank goodness). MerryBelle & I watch them from our windowseat, but Sissy hides under Mommy’s bed.
We will be glad when things return to “normal” (whatever that is) around here. This has been a very stressful time for all of us.

Thank you, it's my Adoptive day Anniversary. today mom has special plans for me. I get a car ride when dad n mom are done with the car. They have to have the car looked at. There going to take me to the fountain in the park. It's nor really very far, but mom thinks that it might be to far for me to walk. It's about 4 blocks. And she going to let he have a potato chip. I just love those chips. Mom can't open a bag with out me trying to steal one. And I get to play with her iPad. She has games on there for me. I might even get to paint again. THEY’RE HERE! Yes, our long-awaited Halloween photos are up. I’m a bee. Can you believe that?! Out of all the scary, “manly” costumes out there, Mommy picks a bumble bee costume for me. Soooo embarrassing! I wonder sometimes what that woman is thinking! Does she not remember that I am highly allergic to bees?! I think I am going to pout and tell my Nana.

What’s mew with you? It is Day #8 of our house renovations. Mr. Roofers, please oh please hurry up & get finished! All three of us are hiding under beds, so I should definitely be losing weight since I am not in the kitchen eating often like I usually am.
We won’t be online for awhile because Mommy has to go into the hospital for some tests that were scheduled before the home repairs. As you may know, Mommy has Crohn’s disease. Nana & PawPaw will be babysitting us so we will be spoiled more than ever!

Hi! Mom is really an unreliable secretary! She just writes when she can and not when I need! I hope your mom is going to be ok. Is it the Mohs surgery that she is going to have?
Where did mom go to see the Dermatologist? If it's that surgery then getting a good plastic surgeon is important.

What’s mew with you? Today is Day #3 of our house renovations. LOUD is the only word to describe life at our house right now. The workers have finally torn off all the old vinyl siding, but they are still replacing the boards under the siding around the eaves of our house. They said this was a big job because our house is so large. Thankfully they have not found any wasps nests. The roofers should be here tomorrow. Oh boy!
Mommy took some photos of the outside of our house last night & she added these to the bottom of our pages. The first two photos are the front of our house & the next 2 pics are the back of our house. As you can see, there is lots of scaffolding everywhere. The 5th pic is the top of our garage & the last pic is our huge shop/pool house.
The good mews is I go outside for a few minutes early in the mornings before the workers arrive. They usually leave by 4:30 p.m. so I go outside again then. I sniff around their “stuff” & make sure they are doing the job purrrfectly!

What’s purring with you today? I want to share my good mews with you. This afternoon I visited Dr. Pat for my 3 month Schirmer eye test. Because I have the herpes virus & it affects my eyes, this test determines whether my eyes are producing enough tears to keep them moist. My right eye = 19 and my left eye = 23. So I got a purrrfect report! Yippeee!
Since visiting feline ophthalmologist Dr. Bill Miller in 2005, I have been taking lysine twice a day. That is much better than having those horrible refresh tears & cyclosporine drops put in my eyes 4 times a day.

Hello Yoda
How was your weekend? We had a nice, but busy one. We enjoyed celebrating GrandPawrents Day with our Nana & PawPaw yesterday. We are so blessed to have them in our daily lives. Caturday our shelter BARL had their annual The Cat’s Meow Rummage Sale. They made over $3800 for the shelter. Isn’t that pawsome?!

Hello Yoda
How was your weekend? We definitely "labored" here for Labor Day weekend, as we began the massive cleanup after Hurricane Isaac. Although we did get alot done this weekend, there is still so much more to do. We are trying to take it step by step, and not look at the big picture & get overwhelmed. Some people just do not realize what going through something like a hurricane can do to us emotionally, not to mention the physical and mental stress. We just still cannot believe how much more damage Hurricane Isaac did here than Hurricane Katrina. Of course we were on the east side of the storm this time & that is always the worst side of a hurricane - lots more rain, winds and tornadoes. At least we all are ok. That is what is important.
Although we are mentally & physically exhausted, we are trying to stay positive but it is kind of hard at times. It was an extremely hot & humid, rainy weekend here with temps in the high 90s & heat index of over 105. With water everywhere, mosquitoes are a concern now, and of course West Nile Virus. We have 2 people in our county with that illness right now. Mommy says that we three seem almost back to normal, thank goodness. She has been so worried about us.
Today the insurance adjuster came & accessed our damage, so hopefully things will move forward quickly now. Mommy is already worried about when we get our mew roof, all the noise & men who will be on our roof scaring us. Thanks for your continued prayers for us as we still have a long way to go before things will be “normal” again.
Psalm 46:1 “God is our protection and our strength. He always helps in times of trouble.” We believe that.

Hi there. Glad all was ok with you. Sad about people who didn't do as well. New Orleans and surrounding areas were hit hard with floods and winds.A lot of animals left behind.So, that's sad. Hope they were all reunited.
