MerryBelle's T4 equilibrium by dialysis test was NEGATIVE! Yippee! At least she does not have hyperthyroidism. Mommy & Nana met with Dr. William for over an hour Caturday. He answered their questions and they feel better now. MerryBelle seems to feel good. She still runs and plays. Hopefully her BUN & Creatinine levels will be down in August when we visit Dr. William for her recheck.

Thank you for pawing by with such sweet ♪ Happy Birthday ♫ wishes & goodies for us. What two extra-fun days we have enjoyed! We celebrated with Minnie Mouse cuppycakes (Mommy’s furiend who owns www.rosebakes.com made them for us). MerryBelle got a mew stainless steel Drinkwell Zen water fountain and Sissy got a red Petzip Luxury Stroller/carrier/car seat all in one. We also got a pink wand toy with a blinky ball on the end of it. You can see pics on the bottom of our pages. Of course, Casper Todd has already drooled & slobbered on our mew wand toy.

Thanks again for sharing our special days with us. Proverbs 27:9 says “A sweet friendship refreshes the soul.” So true!

How are you? Yesterday I visited Dr. William for my annual checkup, blood work (CBC, 6-panel, T3 & T4), shots and 3-month Schirmer eye test. First the good news – my eyes are doing well.

Mommy’s intuition told her something was going on with me, so now the not-so-good mews. I am in the very early stages of kidney disease:
My BUN level = 38 (normal is 16-36)
My Creatinine = 2.6 (normal is .8-2.4)

Dr. William says we caught this early. For now, we are going to treat it by changing my diet to Prescription Diet k/d. So far, I am eating both the k/d canned and the k/d dry food. We will recheck my levels in 3 months.

I also have a UTI, so I am taking Clavamox, the wonder drug. My thyroid level (T4) is in the “grey area” so Dr. William sent some of my blood to Texas A&M so they can run a test called T4 by Equilibrium Dialysis. We should receive those results next week.

As you can imagine, Mommy is very upset, stressed, & worried about me. Please keep us in your prayers.

What’s purring with you? It is a chilly, rainy, & windy day here in southwest Mississippi. Our high temp is only 54 and tonight 39 degrees. Brrrr! That is very cold for us especially in May. Such strange weather we all are having this year.

Did you know that we kitties have lots to celebrate in May? It is Be Kind to Animals Month, National Pet Month, and May 30th is National Hug Your Cat Day. Also Sissy and my birthdays are also in May. So. . . let’s get this pawty started!

Thank you for your prayers for MeMe. She is doing ok, still in a good bit of pain at times. She has pain meds, but of course she will not or cannot remember to ask for those. So the nurses are giving them to her as directed by Doc.

How are you? It was a dark ☁ and stormy ☂ night here in southwest Mississippi. One tornado touched down in Jefferson Davis county & a Southwest plane was hit by lightning while landing at the Jackson airport. We are safe and today Mr. Sunny ☀ is out.

as soon as
the car's been appraised and that report sent into the ad- justor in albany, ny, then she'll get a report back or a call saying how much it's gonna be and have to pay out the first $500 which all in mass. have to do as insurances pick it up after that and likely will cost more than $500! down from 24" of snow to 11" janet measured this morning so it's settled/melted that much and that's great! sandy, ana, haley, angels

How was your weekend? Saturday I visited Dr. William for my yearly checkup, shots & blood work. All of my tests were purrfect - urine sample was clear, poop sample was negative for all parasites (yea!), temp was good, skin & ears looked great, blood work (CBC & 6-panel including BUN, Glucose & Creatinine) was all normal! I weighed 15.5 lbs (which was less than the 15.13 on our digital pet scales at home) so we LOVED Dr. William’s scales! As expected, I need my teeth cleaned. I have that appointment on Thursday, Feb 7th.

After arriving back home from the 30 mile trip, I ate & went tee tee and all seemed well. Then about 2 hours after we had been home, I started going from litter box to litter box, getting in & doing a few drops. Mommy panicked & called Dr. William on his cell. William said that I was probably having a bout of interstitial cystitis from the stress of my trip & vet visit. I had my first occurrence of this in 2009. William said to do what is comforting to me which is to be held preferably by Nana and to eat. So that is what we did the rest of Caturday & Sunday. Mommy & Nana did not let me out of their sight. Dr. William said to call him back Sunday morning with an update.

Mommy is happy to report that since late Caturday, I have been doing great – no more pacing from one litterbox to another, just going normal potty. As you can imagine, Mommy & Nana are much relieved. Dr. William was pleased to hear the good news. He said that usually when stress causes the interstitial cystitis to reoccur, it does not last but a day or so. I mostly slept yesterday, although I did play a little bit with my wand toys. After being so sicky in 2009, I became a very clingy, needy boy. So Mommy tries to keep me happy & stress-free.

I take Resources Urinary Tract supplements every day since July 2009 to help prevent this type of cystitis. At night, Mommy mixes this with some of my Cat Chow Naturals dry food & water and I eat on that all during the night. But Friday night I could not have it because of my bloodwork Caturday morning. Of course Mommy blames herself for me being sick. That is just what Moms do, isn’t it? Even my PawPaw was worried about his “little buddy” & both of my sisters were concerned too. Sissy was even “nice” to me, she did not hiss or growl at me, not even once!

We can't wait to meet your brother.

1/19/13 Good Morning & Happy Caterday!
Barney Here--- Mom has her coffee, so we are ready to go. 29 degrees here and that is supposed to be the high today. We will see. They say the winds will howl amd below zero temps are coming from Canada. What part of "We don't want it" don't they understand?

Back to Andy and Milo and a bit more info on the names. They came to us with the names, so we don't really know who named them. As far as we know, they did not come from another group, just a lady, who regularly feeds strays out of her garage. After they were returned from their first adoption, we added a CC page for them. Almost immediately we found out there were another Andy and Milo, and in MHL hockey! Hi Furrends! Mom changed our page to Handy Andy and Milo,but dropped Milo's name when he was adopted a few weeks later.

So Milo was adopted by a lady, who had had a LH Black cat before and wanted one again. She only wanted one cat and, even though Andy and Milo had come in together, mom knew Andy got along well with us and would be OK. Andy missed his friend a lot, but soon another young foster joined us and then he was happy to have a playmate. Andy still was not adopted and one day mom noticed some sores on his skin, mostly on his back legs. She brought him to our vet and she concluded he might have an allergy, possibly to fleas or food or environmental pollen, as Spring had come. He didn't go outside and no fleas were found on him. She also listened to his heart and found a heart murmur, though it was very faint. Andy was first given prednisone for the skin condition, but it did not help much. It was actually a CC friend, who suggested her cat was on another medication and mom might ask her vet to try that. The new medication did work and was reasonably priced.

It was due to Andy's heart murmur that mom decided he would stay with us. He was doing well, but she was worried that the stress of biweekly adoptions might be too much of a stress on his heart. Neither the group nor she could afford heart surgery, even if it would help, but we could provide a low stress home and lots of TLC. From Andy's behavior, he doesn't have any limitations from his health issues. He still plays rough and enjoys MHL on CC! Mom watches and loves him and gives what medications he needs. He will be with us for life, as long as he is enjoying the best quality of life we can provide.

Well, tomorrow is Sunday and we invite you to ask questions about any of our stories this week or anything else you wish to ask. We will answer, if we are able. Have a Super Caterday and enjoy whatever you wish to enjoy! Give your pawrents lots of purr therapy.

thundie leads the 10 harleys down the street and pull into coco's driveway. they all get off and remove their helmets and there is thundie,vika,talley,mallow,cyndee,kali, elvis, dasher, ammie, and q lola. hovering closely is angel yum yum and angel doodlebug, the angel members of the hairballz rainbow riders..they have presents in their saddlebags they pull out and walk up to the door and holler happy adoption day yesterday!!!!!!!! we glad u found a good home.
