2/21/13 Made it to Thursday Day for K.Barney! +2
Are you still active on CC? Got mom up by 4:00AM, but she still isn't awake. Today she is remembering our Angel Rosebud, who passed 2/21/09 and was a contemporary of Angels Pasha and Agatha. Rosebud was the only cat Pasha accepted to associate with after Agatha. Come to think of it, I don't think we have told Rosebud's story, but guess that will have to wait until next week, because we do have to finish Grisha's.

Anyway, mom brought Grisha home and put him in the now famous guestroom. She had high hopes that Pasha would adjust to him, especially after adjusting so well to Agatha, but it was not to be. Mom had to keep Grisha in the guest room, except when she could close Pasha in her room and give him a bit of time to roam the house. She felt very bad and wasn't sure what to do. Going back to the Humane Society was not an option.

Well, it just so happened that mom did have a friend,Marilyn, who stayed with her frequently, while she was looking for a more permanent place to live. Mom had met Marilyn at her church. Marilyn had some learning disabilities, but was very independent and was taking classes to become a certified nursing assistant. Of course, while staying with mom, Marilyn did have to share the guestroom with Grisha, who worked his charm on her too. Whenever Marilyn was there, he was her best friend and purr therapist! Doesn't take a detective to see where this was leading! When Marilyn finally found a place to stay, Grisha went to live with her in her apartment.

We are not quite to happily ever after yet. Marilyn had asthma and after a few months it got much worse and, she was told that she really needed to give up her cat. She was heartbroken, but then another opportunity came up. With her asthma getting worse, she really was not safe living alone and couldn't return to living with mom either. There was an opening in a group home and a community called "On Our Own." Not only was Marilyn able to find a safe place to live and job opportunities, but Grisha found a new home and purpose too, although he had to live in a different house than Marilyn-- as a therapy cat! The house residents cared for him and he gave lots of purr therapy and love!

Again, we are running out of space. Grisha and Marilyn have both passed over the Bridge, but lived very productive and caring lives. Stay warm and we will come back with another story on Tuesday. It's a wonderful life
Philip Van Doren Stern (1900-1984) began a short story, The Greatest Gift", in 1939. He was inspired by a dream, and reminiscent of the 1843 Charles Dickens' Christmas Carol. Stern shared 200 printed copies in 1943 with friends as a year-end cards after numerous publisher rejections.
Luckily, the pamphlet came to the attention of a RKO movie producer who purchased the rights. Frank Capra's production company saw the movie potential. He paid $10,000 for the rights in 1945. Stern's story was adapted into the most loved and memorable American family film, "It's a Wonderful Life" in 1946. Director Capra's inventiveness, humor and affection for human beings keep it glowing with life and excitement.
On Xmas eve, George Bailey's guardian angel shows him all the lives he touched and how different life in his community would be had he never been born. Although George repeatedly sacrifices his dream to travel the world, he realizes "No man is a failure who has friends."

Hi Princess
I stopped by to give you a vote. I hope your doing well, and enjoying your summer. My mom recently took
me to the vet, and I had to stay overnight all by
myself because I wasn't feeling well. Lots of people came to stop and say hello. The attention helped me
get thru the night alone. I'm a very talkative kitty, and enjoy lots of attention and love
as my family knows.I was just glad that I got back home
to my family after a few nights. Iv'e been on medacation
and have become back to new again.
Anyways, I hope you can write me back, because I look forward to getting to know you better. :) xxx

Tiger #221788 is quite a unique cat; she is usually grumpy on the outside, (which seems to be the only trait she picked up from her mother!) but on the inside she can be sweet and loving. Tiger’s mother was a pregnant stray, looking for a safe place to have her kittens. She soon came upon my Aunts barn, where she gave birth to four kittens, on April 25th. Tiger was kind of the outsider in her family, her siblings were grey, black and calico, her mother was also calico, and Tiger on the other hand was a stunning bright peach. When Tiger’s mother brought in dead birds and mice, Tiger’s siblings would play with it, but Tiger wouldn’t touch it, she would rather play with us. We soon fell in love with Tiger and brought her home on Father’s Day June 17th. Tiger’s bright peach coat turned to a stunning rusty brown, and is continuing to change.
Tiger is now six years old, and never ceases to amaze us with her many sudden burst of energy. Tiger enjoys basking in the sunlight, playing in the corn field, chasing butterflies, and stalking birds. Tiger comes from a long line of tough strays and farm cats, but Tiger doesn’t seem to carry any of those any of those traits! Tiger wakes me up every morning around 7:00AM so I can give her treats; Tiger only has two treats a day because of her corn allergies. And if she isn’t doing any of the above, then she is sleeping.

VOTE MINUIT 219773 COTD JUNE 27TH
My name is Minuit (Pronounced Menew- its French for Midnight) and I’m running for COTD June 25th! My mother was a pregnant stray who wandered into our yard and had her litter of kittens here and I was one of them! After no one claimed us, my owners took us all in and gave us all a forever home. I am now a happy 8 year old Maine Coon mix I enjoy chasing wild birds but I hate going to the vet! (Who does?) I am the brother of Tibbs Kibbie, and the twins Thomasina and Taffy I now have a shriveled up ear after some type of bug bite caused my ear to swell up and it shrunk when it was drained (Now that’s a reason why to not like going to the vet!) so I look kind of funny now, but I’m hard to get pix of so I don’t think I have any on my page showing it. Today, were still rumbling through the great myths and legends of Greece. Well to start off, I am a sucker for superstition! So some kitties may call it make belief but I like to see it as the real thing. Though they may not be our gods, they can be gods of those who believe in them.

Okay, kitties, rev up the engines of your new blue flames motorcycles, because were going motorcycling doing a little thing I like to call, Mythology bay! ~Kitties take off, flying through the wind on their cool new bikes, Hercules stops, and so do the other kitties~ This is our first stop! Look up in the clouds kitties. This is where Zeus and Hercules (cough, cough) do big business together. While Zeus commands the big boss choices on his god like employees, Hercules (cough, Cough) does the big manly work. Slaying three headed beasts and walking through fire, with beautiful kitties dreaming of him every step of the way! Now, guide your eyes a little to the left, ahh, right there! Thats where Athena does her battle training, coolest rockin' goddess in all of Olympus! Now if you just look down a little youll see where Aphrodite obsess over herself all day and a little to the right is where Hermes bows to Aphrodite's every will, and carries all messages to her father, Zeus, because she is to lazy to do it herself. "Ooh but I must keep my perfect face, and perfect hair, well perfect! You expect me to actually talk to my grimy, sweaty Father, Hermes!!" Is what I imagine her saying. Okay, anyway, look down, yah I know all you see is dirt, yup, but deep deep down, Hades controls the underworld with his Ceberes controlling the gates in which he could bend with the raise of a finger nail.

Ok Kitties, get back on yours bikes and lets go 15 miles north, yes yes, up the mountain! ~Hercules gives all his kitty friends some Angel dust so they dont fall down while theyre riding up the mountain~ Ok kitties now that were at the top of the mountain, look down upon the sea below, dont lean to close or else Poseidon might take you down into the depths of his home. Now feel the grass that tickles your paw, Gaia or mother nature creates that emerald green grass for us kitties. Well laides and lords, its time to get back! I had fun riding and sharing information with you kitties!!
