~Queen Trixie's Tales~ Thursday April 18th
Our thoughts & prayers go out to all the people in West, Texas as an explosion at a fertilizer plant devastated the area around it at about 8 pm last night. Over 160 are injured, at least 3 firefighters are missing & several workers & local residents have already lost their lives in the horrific explosion that registered 2.1 on the Richter scale! Please keep this community in your thoughts & prayers as they continue their search for the missing & try to recover from the shock.
I also send out a prayer request for the people of Boston who are still trying to understand why bombs were set off at the end of their world famous marathon on Monday. Law enforcement is working around the clock to find the cowards that did this & our prayers are also with them for their diligence & determination to bring them to justice!

It’s going to be another stormy day at the Imperial Cabin later today but right now you couldn’t tell it. The sun is shining & we have a temp of 65 BUT the wind is wickedly strong & we're under a tornado watch!! All cabin visitors are requested to stay inside to avoid any falling limbs/branches! Since it’s too windy to be outside safely I’m going to meow to you about another one of our fabulous CC friends. Grab a spot on the plush carpet or one of the luxurious cat beds around the throne room, grab some snacks from the buffet table (prepared by our head chef Patches & top aide-de-camp Gracie) & turn your attention to today’s tale about CHARLOTTE #196844!
The family had an attempted break-in at their house the last week of January. Everyone was asleep when Charlotte jumped up on her mom at about 4:30am meowing very loudly. Mom heard banging & quickly checked to see if her husband was ok since he has medical problems. Nothing wrong there, but the banging continued so she looked out the bathroom window & was shocked to see a man knocking over the garbage cans. She turned on the outside lights, but he didn’t leave, instead he moved to the back door, which leads into the mud room, & started banging on that door. She couldn’t imagine what his intention was & became fearful. The alarm was on at the house so she called 911 & stayed on the line with the dispatcher while he continued banging on the door. Then he managed to push the top window out of the door & entered the mud room by finding the locks & unlocking the door, where he then proceeded to bang on the kitchen door. Just in the nick of time the police arrived at the back of the house & took him down! It turned out that the man was extremely intoxicated & lost but it was a very frightening experience for Charlotte & her mom (luckily dad slept through it) & to this day Charlotte will not go into the mud room, which she previously enjoyed almost daily for a sunbath. I hereby present Charlotte with the Golden Catnip Custer of Heroism for alerting her mom to the danger & thank her for sharing her story.

That's great mews that you'll be getting 2 kitties in June! I'm looking forward to meeting them & seeing pics of you too Mouse!

Today is a sad day in our nation as we have once again been attacked! I ask that everyone please observe a moment of silence for those that have lost their lives & to send prayers of healing to those that were injured during the terrible terrorist attack at the Boston Marathon yesterday. Gentle hugs & prayers go out to all the people of Boston as they endure the hardships & grief of this unprovoked & senseless attack.
Since this is a very downhearted time for many people in our nation I’d like to try to cheer you up with a couple of heroic doggy tales. The first one is from one of the dogs on DC & the other one is from one of our own precious feline families.

MAX PINKOWITZ is a happy 10 year old doggies that was very happy to find his forever home when he was 2. His mom takes him for walks a lot & gets to meet a lot of his doggie friends. Up their street live 2 very aggressive chi pups that weigh about 3 pounds each, which his mom calls ‘killer chis’. If they’re out with their mom they come running toward the street barking like crazy. Last year they were playing outside with their mom when Max & his mom were walking up the street. Max & his mom saw a car coming & then mom was stunned by what happened next! Max went toward the ‘killer’ Chis and blocked them from running into the street!! Mommy was so proud of him because sweet Max saved the chi doggies that day by preventing them from being hit I hereby present Max with the Queen’s Medal of Gallantry for keeping his fellow canines safe from harm.

This one is from EDDIE #153057. Once a few years ago when mom was on vacation, she left her motel room to walk about a 1/2 mile to a restaurant. The motel had a porch and when mom went out on the porch to leave she saw a large dog and wondered where he came from but took off as planned. She was curious as the dog followed & on the way they passed a field where there was a very scary man walking toward them. Mom felt safer with that dog right near her & the dog escorted mom to the restaurant then left. Luckily Mom’s walk back was uneventful so mom thinks that God sent along an angel dog that night to keep her safe & is grateful for God's care.
We’ll never know this special dog’s name but have to agree that this special canine was indeed a guardian angel sent down to protect mom so that she wouldn’t be harmed by the stranger that thought about approaching her.

~It’s a shout-out for ERNIE #200361 so please pounce on his votey button today!~

It was a dark & stormy night in my neck of the woods & we lost power in the middle of the night & when we woke up our clocks were all flashing so we were lost in time..MOL! Since it’s so muddy & water is standing everywhere I’ve decided to take a road trip to see the LAPORTE COUNTY HISTORICAL MUSEUM! (http://www.laportecountyhistory.org) It has over 100,000 items on display. Many are family heirlooms brought into the county by the original pioneers. They include furniture, household items, tools, memorabilia, antique toys, rare dolls is on display as well as one of the largest and finest collections of antique weapons. Many products manufactured in the county by local industries are also displayed. Period room settings showcase much of the museum collection. A pioneer log cabin, Victorian parlor with a unique square grand piano, 1920's kitchen, a business office and a dentist office of the past typify this aspect of the museum displays. See the pics in my gallery to catch a glimpse of what we’ll see today but let’s get on board the Calico Express Tour bus & as we motor down the road I’ll meow to you about one of our special CC furiends!

SNUGGLES’s #124534 mom is really proud & has learned to trust her magnificent hearing, especially since mom is somewhat hearing impaired. One cold winter night the neighbors lit their wood stoves to keep warm while mom had gone to her bunk bed. Snuggles smelled the smoke & thought something must be wrong so she knew she had to wake her mom up. She tried several time to wake her by putting her nose on hers but she kept pushing her away. Finally she jumped onto the top bunk & jumped down on mom several times until finally the pouncing & nose nudges of Snuggles woke mom up. She smelled the smoke & put Snuggles in a pillow case(she was the only cat at the time), woke up GM & called the fire department. When they came to check it out assumed it was that the smoke from nearby being been drawn in by their heat pump, making Snuggles think the house was in trouble. The fireman said that Snuggles was a true hero for waking up her family! Another time Snuggles also alerted her mom when a neighbor came to the door, which mom didn’t hear. Sweet Snuggles thought he meant trouble and started growling and even pointed like a dog toward the kitchen. This heroic & brave kitty got lots of treats for her actions to protect her mommy & she was very deserving of them! Today I ask her to step to the front of the bus to please accept the award of the Calico Medal of Defense for her exceptional determination to protect her beloved mom more than once.

Hope you're not snowed in today!! Happy Tuesday & thanks for stopping by the Imperial Cabin! Okay kitties…today we’re touring my home state a little bit & taking a trip to Michigan City, IN to see the OLD LIGHTHOUSE MUSEUM! At the bend of Trail Creek in the Michigan City harbor stands an historic old structure whose beacon served as a guiding light for Great Lakes sailors for more than 100 years. Michigan City's well-lighted port has a long and interesting history, bound to Lake Michigan with all its mysteries and beauties. Michigan City's first light was a simple "postlight"( lantern on a tall pole) located approximately 100 feet west of the present lighthouse. In 1837, Jeremy Hixon, Sr. and his son were contracted by the U.S. Government to build a permanent lighthouse in Michigan City. That structure consisted of a keeper's dwelling with a 40 foot high whitewashed tower topped with a lantern to house the light. As shipping in Michigan City increased, primarily grain and lumber, a brighter light was needed to guide ships into the busy port. In 1858, the U.S. Government constructed a lighthouse using Joliet stone for the foundation and Milwaukee or "Cream City" bricks for the superstructure. On November 20, 1871, the first beacon light was installed on the east pier. (http://www.oldlighthousemuseum.org)
The Old Lighthouse Museum opened officially on June 9, 1973 & has guided tours Tues-Sun from 1-4pm so that’s where we’re going today kitties! I’d originally planned to meow to you about another of our CC furiends while we’re traveling on the Cyclone Express bus today but I’ll do that on Thursday instead since this article about my home state caught my eye this morning.

~Dachshund Adopts Abandoned Kittens~
In a story originally shared by Fox 59 in Indianapolis, four kittens were born on the front porch of a local couple, right before an early spring blizzard brought more than nine inches of snow to the area. The couple found the kittens alone and brought them inside to care for them. Little did they know it would be their Dachshund, JOJO, who would do much of the caretaking! The dog immediately took over mothering duties, including producing milk to nurse the kittens. The couple told Fox 59 that JoJo “acts as if she birthed them herself.” The kittens, who are all boys, are named Poseidon, Hephaestus, Pan and Zephyr, also known as the “blizzard kittens.” They’ll be available for adoption when they’re old enough.

Now that’s another true awww moment! They have their own FB page but for those that don’t go there I’ve also posted pics in my gallery so you can also get that warm fuzzy feeling from seeing this pawtastic doggie with her ‘kitty pups’. This family gets the Calico award of excellence for cuteness!

~Trixie's Tantalizing Animal Tales~ March 24th
**It’s a shout-out for IZY #199475 today so please paw her a vote**

Yawn...Trixie is in a pawsomely good mood as she wakes up at the Hotel Bergwert in Austria . The day before had been a magnificent at the Tiergarten Schönbrunn (the Zoo), Schonbrunn Imperial palace & gardens, the Gloriette gate, the labyrinth, & the Palm House…but the best part is that everyone seemed to have had a great time! She hears a door down the hallway open up, followed by giggles & the single clang of a bell, which was quickly cut off by someone. Trixie pounces toward the door, flings it open & has her ears almost blown off by the very loud & constant clanging of the now familiar closing bell (Kaiserglöckerl bell) of the places they’d been to yesterday. “Oh no…not again”, moans Trixie as the other kitties throw open their doors in astonishment. She can hear whomever it is pouncing down the hall yowling “WAKE UP…It’s Sunday kitties, which means we need to check out of the hotel & catch the flight home!” Just as suddenly as the clanging had started, it stopped. All the kitties standing in doorways exchanged glances as they heard muffled voices downstairs, followed by complete silence. “I think we’d better get to the airport as soon as we can”, meows Trixie in her sweetest voice. “I have a feeling we’ve just been checked out …MOL! I’ll start on this week’s amazing animal tales once we’ve boarded the plane. “
Every kitty goes back to their rooms, closes their doors & gets ready for the trip home, but they keep their ears perked for any sign of whom the culprits(s) could be. “I know they have their suspicions”, Trixie meows to herself,” but that will have to wait until we land in the US…MOL!”
Later on the plane…Trixie stands up & clears her throat. It’s time for me to turn on my cyclonic spins & twist you in another direction sweet furiends…MOL! I’ve wrapped up my unusual animal friends series so this week we’ll delve into the newly discovered, recently extinct &, if space allows, species on the brink of extinction series. Since uhm…certain events (MOL) have taken up most of my blog space for today I’ll start meowing about them tomorrow. Have a pawsome Palm Sunday sweet furiends & thank you for your generous & loving support of my COTM catpaign! Your comments about the content of my blogs make me purr with happiness because you’re enjoying them. That’s always a goal for the entire NICE crew & we always appreciated the feedback we get. The day has arrived that I turn ➌!!

I feel so very happy that I climbed mommy's inside tree...MOL!

Oopsy...guess it doesn't support a full-grown kitty like me so I meowed...TIMBER & watched my siblings scramble out of the way...MOL! Whew...at least only a little bit of the dirt flew out of the pot but I did get that "you know better" look from mom!
Like all loving parents my mom is indulging my whims today...within reason of course...MOL! All CC kitties are invited to come over to help me celebrate! Patches has whipped up a yummy triple layer catnip cake with cream cheese icing. Zaboo has graciously donated several cans of tuna for the big event. Fluffinella is dragging out all of her toys for the kits to play with (including me...MOL). Angels Cloudy & Sherman have sprinkled everything with angel dust & decorated everything in pink (mine & mom's favorite colors) but the sweetest surprise of the day is the pawmade pinata that looks just like Fluffinella made by Joseph & the outside crew. I know I'm ready to take a few whacks at it...MOL!
Let's get this pawty started sweet furiends but I do ask that instead of a gift for me that you donate to your local rescue group or shelter so other kitties have a chance to have the good life like I do.
And now I'm off to chase Fluffernut to amewse myself on this happy day.

Jakar is a handsome 3 year old who always looks good in his basic black. He was born feral, but became a beloved member of his family as a tiny kitten. He’s a fun loving guy who loves to play fetch with his pawrents, always bringing them toys to toss for him to retrieve. He also likes to wrestle with his brother Hedley who outweighs him by a lot!
He and his brothers Hedley and Neelix are active in MHL hockey and have become very good players in just a short time.
Perhaps the most important aspect of Jakar’s personality is his kindness and loyalty to his CC friends and family. Not a day goes by that you don’t see Jakar offer congratulations to his friends, bringing kind words to those who are ill or sad and supporting the CC family as a whole. Jakar is a wonderful and caring member of our CC community. Let’s show him how much we appreciate him by joining together to vote for him on Monday the 28th, to bring him his COTD badge. He certainly deserves it and his family will be so happy for him to be honored with a shiny COTD badge.

~I'm happily pouncing on everyone today~
And I'm enjoying every minute of it...MOL! Great to hear from you & your family again Mittens! Did you know that I'm famous for grabbing swishing tails & if you move I might just tackle you? Well I am...MOL! Mom says I'm a great match for keeping up with our calico cyclone Trixie, but I think I can outdo her antics tenfold! Nothing is safe from my pounce attacks, including people...MOL! I'm not mean but I put the energizer bunny to shame with my energy levels & I don't give up easily either. So far today (& remember it's still fairly early) I've gotten in trouble for attacking the blinds, dumping a water dish,hissing at Joseph when he came in (I do that daily...MOL) & accidentally unplugging the living room TV. I've also pounced on Patches & made her run with me, pounced on Zaboo & got flipped, & had a wonderful boxing match with Trixie. Right now Trixie & I are racing through the house at top speed & jumping across the furniture. She's still faster then me but I can jump just as high & am more stubborn about giving up...MOL! Well got to go so I can see where she disappeared to & start some more chaos.

Hello Mittens
How was your Thanksgiving? Ours was very nice, spent with the family. On Black Friday, Mommy & Nana decorated our house for Christmas. We helped! We have our very own tree with all kitty-related ornaments including our yearly dated purrsonalized ornaments, kitty face garland and even an angel kitty tree topper. You can see pics on the bottom of my page. One of our mew ornaments this year is a Santa checking his nice list. Guess whose names are purrsonalized on that list?!

We have our stockings all hung on the stocking tree and now we wait for Santa Claws. I’m thinking he will bring me LOTS of good stuff because I have been exceptionally good this year. How about you?!

☔ Halloween haunting via the NICE Crew ☔
Hi Mittens, Sorry we haven't been by lately bit mom's main PC is in need of a new power supply box so she's stuck using her laptop, which she's not entirely used to yet.

It's a cold, breezy wet day in our neck of the woods so we're not sure how many ghosts & goblins will brave the weather to knock on unsuspecting victim's doors tonight as they search for treats, but we're sure that some will.
Since it's the last day of October it means my time as the family blogger has come to a close & another will take over tomorrow. Hold onto your tails & put everything away because our maniacal little Fluffers is next in line for regular blogging duty...MOL! Zaboo will be the special event attendee & Angel Cloudy will be our on-call angel for anything or anyone that needs some angel intervention. It's been a fun month visiting with all of you to offer my purrceptions & I'll miss you. Remember, if you ever need a strong paw to whack your young kits in line all you've got to do is meow & I'll pounce over to paw them back into place for you. In other words...never fear for Patches is always near...MOL!
We're thrilled to read that so many of our furiends have now been reached through various sources & will continue to keep them in our prayers as the clean-up begins. We're still saying prayers for our dear CC furiends that haven't checked in yet too & are hoping they're just without power & nothing more serious has happened. To end my time with you I located a poem to share. I've pawed a ghost shaped vote into your collection bucket & leaving you a caramel apple in honor or National Caramel Apple Day! First, I want to apologize for the lateness of my thank you. Due to several family issues mom has been unable to spend much time on computer. Dad had a wreck, then Mom's mom was put in hospital, and then a couple of more family health issues. On top of that she is part of The United Way committee for her Job this year and has had to attend several functions. So now we don't hardly get any time! It is terrible. We are now a very neglected gang.
That being said I am going to have to C&P this just so We can get everyone thanked, please accept our apologies and hope you understand.

Now, thank you so much for coming by. You are very cute. come by anytime. The party was fun and everyone had a good time. My earth sibs made some of our famous Milk punch for those still earth bound. They like any reason to make it!!! MOL. Not only did I get Cat of the Day (which mom missed cuz she did not get on computer that weekend), It also made her very sad that she missed my very special day, I was rescue cat of the day also.
So thank you for making my day so special. It really meant a lot to all of us. Mom still misses all her angels. Well mom says I have to go as she is at work trying to get this done without getting caught!!!! Have a great weekend.

~Quick pounce through today~
Just doing a quick note & vote run today since mom is catching up the laundry & trying to rake leaves plus finish putting up her Halloween decoratations. Youngsters Trixie & Fluffenella have been romping, wrestling, & getting into everything imaginable so far this morning. Fluffers thought it would be cute to attempt a wresting match with me when I was relaxing on the loveseat too but she thought better of it when I flipped her off. I saw Trixie watching to see what would happen & had to laugh when she meowed "I told you so" to Fluffers...MOL! They took off at cyclonic speed again right after that & plowed into Zaboo as he was coming in to take a nap beside me. He yowled but they were already out of the area but he'll probably get even with them later. Well got to run so mom can feed the clothes some fabric softener. Pawing you a bologna filled vote in honor of National Bologna Day & hoping you have a pawtastic Wednesday!

~Whispers from Patches~
Shhh...I'm tiptoeing & whispering this morning so I don't wake Fluffernut & Trixie up. They were both maniacs running through the house this morning & they tried to confuse me by running in opposite directions to the family room. Fluffers kept running down the hallway & through the laundry room to the back entrance while Trixie raced through the kitchen so she could leap down the 2 steps to get there first. Those silly kits romped & played like that for over an hour before they finally settled down for a mid-morning nap so I'm being very quiet so they'll stay asleep...MOL! Zaboo took refuge under the computer desk but I did see him come out to eat when they quieted down. Now he's found little sis' lap so is watching TV with her & keeping warm at the same time. Sammie pup is outside but mom went out a few minutes ago to scold her for taking her blankets out of her doghouse so now she's pouting but she's laying inside of her house...MOL!
The Indy news is predicting Indian Summer for us for the next few days but also chances of rain. It's fairly cloudy right now so I'm hoping Mr. Sun will make his appearance for at least a few minutes before the late afternoon showers begin. The outside crew will appreciate the warmer temps & have already come out of the cattery to lay on their cushioned bench on the front porch. Buddy & Scamper were wrestling & playing yesterday so they're getting over the loss of their fursis Pixie very well. They've also been purring a lot when mom picks them up to love on them so we're all happy about that. Joseph & his bro Adam have been sticking pretty close to both of them recently so between their attention & mom's they're coming out of their depression very well. Well the kids are on their last day of fall break plus Joseph needs to do some blogs too so I'll sign-off for now & leave you a pawful of catnip peanuts with your vote in honor of National Nut Day...because real nuts are for squirrels...MOL! I was named Splashes of Rain just because of these markings..I am known as a Torteshell persian, or Tortie, you know only us beautiful torties are usually females, and are quite rare from what I am told. HELLO SWEET MITTENS
I'm so sorry it has taken me so long to answer you. We had a broken computer for a while. Now we have a new one. Two of my family are Mouse Hockey captains and Hockey season just started. They had lots to do so I didn't have a lot of time for visiting. I live in a very large cat family. Our mom rescues cats. Some end up living with us. I don't mind, I like other cats. my best trick is meeting mom at the bottom of the driveway when she gets home from work. I jump in her arms ( whether or not she is holding stuff ). I drape myself over her shoulder for a while them I wrap around her neck like a fur ( live ! ) stole. I'm a very happy cat. It will be getting cold where you are soon. It never gets cold here. I think it's pawsome that your dad wants to open a rescue shelter for kitties:) Trixie wasn't a shelter cat but she was going to be if she hadn't been adopted by mom & dad. Zaboo was heading there too when mom found him wandering at the sitter's house 7 years ago. I was left by my former owners when they moved but they took my 3 sisters with them so I'm also a rescue. All of our outside kitties are ones that have been dumped, found their way here or were born before their furmoms' had their big girl surgeries. Fluffers is our latest 'rescue' because she was very sick. Her littermates are healthier & live in the cattery or barn (whichever they're in the mood for that day) but Fluffers probably would have crossed the bridge if mom hadn't brought her in. Now she won't even go near the door so guess she likes being in...MOL!

My blog for the day: Mom has a lot to get done today before the rain moves in so have to make this short & sweet even though I'm bursting with playful energy this morning.
I played with Fluffernut for a few minutes earlier but then mom got out the laser light & it called my name...MOL! Fluffers tried to get in my way but she found out that wasn't a very good idea when I ran right over her in my zeal to catch the glowing red light that was racing across the floor. After being bowled over more than once she decided to cuddle with Zaboo in the rocking chair. Trixie missed all of the excitement because she was sitting in the laundry room listening to something in the wall. Mom thinks she may be tracking another mouse since they've finally got the fields around us cut so will be watching her carefully so that no mice get dropped into her shoes again...MOL! Well I've got to go so mom can get little sis' concert clothes washed & dried for tonight's big band event at the school plus get limbs picked up & garden decor put away. I'll meow at you again tomorrow but in the meantime I'm leaving you a vote along with a steaming plate of Fettuccine Alfredo in honor of National Pasta Day!

You had a busy day. Be careful playing with those neighborhood cats They might have a disease. I am not allowed to go outside. Mom says we live on a busy street and it isnt safe. ~Patches' Tuesday Purrceptions~
Hi Mittens,
I know you've been meowing with my little sis Trixie but since I'm this month's family blogger I thought I'd pounce over instead. Tell you dad to be patient with Lucifer & keep putting the food bowl a little closer to the house so he'll get used to the sounds around him. Good luck!

It's another very cool, breezy morning in our area. Most of our trees have lost their leaves so the nearby woods are looking very bare & the poor trees are starting to shiver. Mom took Fluffinella to the door today to see how she'd react & started laughing when she wriggled free & raced to her bedroom sanctuary. Guess that answers the big question on whether she misses being outside & proves she's not as silly as she acts...MOL! Dad had always said that 3 inside cats is his limit but the white whirlwind has wound her paws around his heart so tight that even he's not complaining, especially since she hunts him down every night to play...MOL! Wonders never cease but I'll put my paw down hard if they ever try to move another D.O.G. in! One of those drooly, smelly monsters is quite enough for all of us felines to contend with!
I have some good mews to share! Mom was shocked to find my long missing mouse toy in front of the living room couch when she got up this morning. She's still wondering which one of us found it & where, since she thought she'd looked everywhere, but no one is telling...MOL! I purrsonally think it was probably a Fluffinella discovery since she's the only one small enough to fit under things but as long as it's found I really don't care who did...MOL! I romped with him for a long time before I flicked it toward Fluffers & Trixie as they ran past. It was hilarious as they both hit the brakes to see what I'd tossed their way & I think they left a few skid marks on the kitchen floor too...MOL! They amewsed themselves with it for a while then continued their romp, race & wrestle game until Trixie hissed that she'd had enough for the time being. Zaboo was rolling his eyes at all of us this morning because we were so active but found sanctuary in mom's lap to avoid a pouncing...MOL! He's gone to eat again but had to avoid the running duo of Trixie & Fluffers to get there. Sometimes I feel sorry for him being surrounded by such active sisters but he takes it all in stride & keeps his happy catitude most of the time. Well I've got to go because the youngsters are starting to disturb my concentration & one of them just attacked my tail, which means my paws had better get busy whacking before they get completely out of control. Have a terrific Tuesday dear furiends!

So far this morning I've chased my little sis Fluffinella, harassed Zaboo & Patches & kept the outside kitties from coming in the front door...MOL! It sounds like you're a little energizer bunny type of kitty just like me & my little sis so I'm sure you bring hours of amewsement to your dad with your kittenish antics. There's never a dull moment at our house, unless you count nap times, because if I'm not running & creating havoc them some other kitty (mainly Fluffers) is...MOL! Wow, I bet you have really grown since your first picture. It has been way to long since we talked and I was so glad to get your message. I'm so glad you are getting a friend. You will love having someone to play with. I'm very pleased your dad decided on a rescue cat. That's very nice of him. Heaven knows where I would be if I hadn't been found and rescued.
Hey, Mom is watching a show on Animal Planet about cats and they are at a Kitty Kindergarten in Chicago. It helps socialize the kittens so they get used to other cats and a variety of people. That would have been really great. Maybe I wouldn't have been so shy if I had been to school when I was a baby.
Have you been in any cat shows yet? Is your Dad training you yet? Mom has two very good books on Clicker training. In fact, that's what they are showing on TV right now. How funny! Oh, now they are bringing in a dog. Didn't you say something about your family getting a dog? Well, I can't tell you what they are cause I never bet one but my Dad was talking about one the other day. I hope he isn't up to something. I don't need one, whatever it is. I'd better keep an ear open so I can stop any wild ideas he gets. Just remember, when you have a dog, that as you said before "Cats Rule". You will have to teach the dog the house rules which means you are the boss of him. From what I hear dogs are trainable.
Well, got to give Mom some PC time for her email.

Vote Princess COTD March 10th!!!
Hi my name is Princess! I have several nicknames including Tweet Tweet and Tweedlepunk! I like doing regular cat things such as annoying the dog, sun-bathing on sunny days, and playing with every type of toy! I also like to do odd things like taking baths and walking on a harness! I was adopted when I was 2 months old from a local shelter! I was found orphaned on the streets with an injury under my right eye and a crooked tail! I was put in a cage at the local shelter and stayed there for what seemed to be a long time! Then one day a lady came and she wanted a kitten! She looked at every cage and I was in the last one! She knew right away I was purrfect for her and I knew she was purrfect for me! We are now Best friends and she is the best mom a kitty could ever have! PLEASE VOTE FOR ME MARCH 10TH so I can be CC's COTD on March 11th! I would really appreciate any votes, as this will be my first COTD if I win!

I think its great that you may get a friend to play with. I'm glad to know it will be a rescue cat, too. There are so many of us without homes and I feel so lucky that mom loved me (love at first site) and took me home with her. I was very tiny, like you, when I went to live with mom and dad.
Do you think you will like being in cat shows? I'd be scared to death by all that noise and those strangers but then, mom says I am the original 'frady cat' anyway.
I bet you will have lots of CC friends in no time. It is fun to learn about all the other kitties and their lives and they live all over the world!
About this 'dog' person, I still don't know but from what mom and dad say I think one would probably be noisy. They talked about something called 'barking'. I'll take a good ole Meow any day.

Yes, I would love to be furiends and Mom and I look forward to learning more about you and watching you grow. We didn't know about CC when I was a kitten so Mom wasn't able to capture any of my funny (and scary) kitten antics.
Also, I am looking forward to seeing more pictures of you. It sounds like you may have a sibling before long. That's good because its nice to have someone to play with and since you are so young you should be able to adapt easily to sharing the attention. Mom and Dad wish they had known more about kitties when they adopted me. They would like to have a catpanion for me but after 9 years I don't think I would be too happy about that. I'm the center of this world and I see no reason to change. MOL So, I discourage those thoughts as quickly as possible. Dad mentioned a dog (whatever that is) but I've never met one so who knows how that would go. I'm a shy kitty and Mom is afraid I would really withdraw (she says I'm the original scaredy cat). Come visit anytime.
