I have adopted the following for new years, albeit a bit late:The Cat’s New Year’s Resolutions: My human will never let me eat their pet hamster, and I am at peace with that. I will not slurp fish food from the surface of the aquarium. I will not eat large numbers of assorted bugs, then come home and throw them up so the humans can see that I'm getting plenty of roughage. I will not lean way over to drink out of the tub, fall in, and then pelt right for the box of clumping cat litter. (It took FOREVER to get the stuff out of my fur.) We will not play "Herd of Thundering Wildebeests Stampeding Across the Plains of the Serengeti" over any humans' bed while they're trying to sleep. I cannot leap through closed windows to catch birds outside. If I forget this and bonk my head on the window and fall behind the couch in my attempt, I will not get up and do the same thing again. I will not assume the patio door is open when I race outside to chase leaves. I will not stick my paw into any container to see if there is something in it. If I do, I will not hiss and scratch when my human has to shave me to get the rubber cement out of my fur. It is not necessary to check every door. I will not play "dead cat on the stairs" while people are trying to bring in groceries or laundry.When my human is typing at the computer, their forearms are *not* a hammock. Computer and TV screens do not exist to backlight my lovely tail. I will not perch on my human's chest in the middle of the night and stare until they wake up. Wow--stairs would be so great to run up and down! Well, meowmy doesn't think so, but I do! Meowmy is just now getting back on 'cause she burned her hand really bad and had trouble typing, but she is doing better now! We has our list fur Santa ready and hope we get some of it. Sorry so quiet lately but meomwy had a 'trocious accident in the kitchen. She grabbed a hot metal pizza pan right out of the oven and burned her little hand to pieces. Then pawpy's hot coffee splashed her other hand an burned it, but not so bad as the other one. Anyway, typing with one paw is a drag, an she said he hand was hurting a lot so we has been trying to help around the house--Elspeth spilled the water dish and dumped the wrapping bows all in it, Taliesin puked in the kitchen, and I has been practicin' my hockey with the lizards I find. How's you? Meowmy did a silly thing, scary thing today! She was checkin Mynx's mail an' hit the delete button instead of "view." Then she tried to cancel, and her screen went all blank an' she couldn't get his page up furr a while--she was reeeeealy unhappy about it, but I think it is back now. Whew! Someone needs to teach these hoomins how to use 'puters! Heh, I wakes up and my tongue just gets stuck--I don't know why. I like to lay on or near black things and camoflauge myself so no one can find me. Then I can sleep in peace; otherwise Elspeth will pounce me. It is hard to sleep around here with four other cats and a human kitten to watch out for! I like bastumms treats the best, have you ever tried them? Hi Emma! I am a black kitty too--we are almost the same age too. I likes to run fast and sun in the windows--how about you? My tongue gets stuck outside my mouth too after a nap or for no reason at all sometimes, and meowmy or pawpy has to push it back in--hate when that happens, and you know what? You can't run away from your own tongue. That’s important to remember, cuz you can get hurt tryin'.
