Domestic Longhair from <a href='' title='Crossville, TN'>Crossville, TN</a>

Mischief - Praying for all the sick and lost..

About Me

Active within 1 Day

Hi! My name is Mischief - Praying for all the sick and lost..

I am Domestic Longhair from Crossville, TN

Nicknames: Mishy, Pretty Girl, Piggy

Age: 4 years old

Gender: F

Coat: long haired

Education: Mischief has begun visiting the local nursing home as a therapy cat. She is not certified, yet, but it's not required there. Everyone loves her!

Got her first COTD/CROTD badges on 8/7/12
2nd COTD - 11/21/14

She became Duchess of Dashingness by winning the ladies competition of the Magnificent Tail Contest on 8/11/12.

My favorite tricks and treats are: She can jump really high when going after Da Bird, or a fly! and She will eat Temptations once in awhile, but she's not excited about treats. Once in awhile, she'll eat Friskies Party Mix out of my hand.

Where I hang out: She loves to sit on either of the towers, or on the window perch. She also like to sit in my bedroom window and watch the birds in the trees.

My favorite grubs: She loves any and all wet food, to the point that she tries to steal everyone elses.

My pet peeves: Not being able to go outside without a harness and leash.
Not being allowed to eat my fursibs food, cuz I want it all!

What I love about my owners: She and Dad made me a part of the family and I have a bigger place to roam around in. I also have many windows to look out of and see all the birds and other critters. They found a good place for my littermates to go.

My cat hobbies: Eat! Run through the house and play with Da Bird and other string or wand toys and sometimes my fursibs. Mom now takes me out in the front yard in the morning, so I can smell the grass, maybe eat a blade or two and chase bugs! Eat!

Pet motto: She doesn't have one, yet.

How We Met

A family was evicted from the mobile home park next door and they had to leave 5 cats behind. My husband and I took care of them for 3 days until animal control could come and collect them. We fell in love with Mischief and brought her home. The others went to an organization called A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin') where they will be cared for until homes are found for them. They are a no-kill organization. We learned just this week (July, 2012) that all of her siblings have been adopted!

Hi Mischief,
It's another snowy day here, imagine that. Hehehe.!!! Actually we have about another 2-4 inches on top of what we already had. Need-less-to-say, our driveway is pretty deep with snow. Thank-fully we don't have any where to go. Mom and Dad did go to Mass this morning and they had a slip and slide time of it. Now however, we are all tucked in and plan on spending a nice quiet Sunday. Mom took out the George Forman Grill to make some burgers. A little picnic to lift our spirits and to help us picture warmer weather. I hope that you will have a wonderful day too. Visit when you can. Purrs and a hug, Mittens...

Hi Mischief & family!
Not much going on here today. Mom was out running errands and us kitties had the house to ourselves. We’ve been catnapping all day. We’re supposed to get some rain tomorrow. Yippee! The sun was shining all day, but it’s been windy. Hopefully the wind is blowing the rain to us.

Wow! 2-3 inches of more snow?! We wish your pawrents didn't have to drive in those conditions, but we know some things are just necessary. We'll keep them both in our prayers. Cat food is definitely a must. MOL!

Aw, Frosty likes his Snuggle Safe. We're so glad Frosty and Midnight have your family to look after them in this severe weather. A possum?! My Mom has seen them at GM's house in her backyard at night. Mom says they are kind of scary looking! We hope the outside kitties are careful.

Give Q. Duchess a warm hug for us. We hope the fluids make her feel better. We always have her in our prayers. 2 whole weeks without needing fluids! That's wonderful!

Oh you made me blush sweet furiend. Thank you for making me feel better about my gray fur. Maybe I won't put Grecian Formula on it after all. MOL!

We hope you have a relaxing, warm weekend. Give the family warm hugs for us.

Here’s a vote with purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.

Hi Mischief and family!
We’re running a little bit late today. My Mom and I were working on my blogs when she got a call from Ebony and Sugar Bear’s Dad, next door. Their Mom Abarna had a doctor’s appointment today, but he was having car problems. My Mom would have lent him one of our cars, but both cars are stick shift and their Dad doesn’t know how to use a clutch. (Dad drives the automatic van to work because of his ankle.) That’s okay; my Mom drove Abarna to see her doctor. Abarna is doing okay, still congested, but nothing that a lot of rest won’t cure.

When Mom came back home, we were all sitting in the bay windows downstairs patiently waiting for her. Mom said we all looked so well behaved and innocent. She looked around to see if we had gotten into anything. Nope! We were purrfect little angels. MOL! Mom opened a fresh bag of Wildside Salmon for us and there were treats all around. Yay!

We hope Q. Duchess is doing okay. Give her a warm hug for us. We haven't watched the weather report today yet, so we're praying you guys are all staying safe and hopefully warm. We love you sweetie and always have your precious family in our prayers.

Here’s a vote with purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.

Cats Don't Care =^.^=
Cats don't care what dogs think
they just look down and sorta wink.
Perch themselves way up high
the dog barks and starts to cry.
It's really not fair, those agile cats
hiding in places just like rats.
The dog wants to play, join in the fun
chase that cat, make it run.
But cats care less, don't need to play fair
like to tease, don't have a care.
Poor dog sits and wonders why?
Sly old cat naps with a sigh.
Dog keeps guard, waiting for a twitch
cat doesn't move, not even for an itch.
The game goes on, cat unaware
the dogs just pleads, please care.

More about Mom
I've had a wonderful time with my catpaign with the help of my Mom. Let me tell you more about her.

1. My middle aged Mom is a child at heart.
2. Mom married the love of her life and is happily married to Dad for the last 14 years.
3. Mom quit her job to be a housewife and mother to us kitties. She has worked hard for over 20 years and has taken the backseat for the last four years.
4. Mom is the third of four siblings, two of which are overseas. Mom takes solely care of Grandma and Grandpa's needs, visiting them every Sunday.
5. Mom has travelled to many beautiful places but considers our developing country home. Home is where the heart is.
6. Our home is asian inspired and Mom loves asian cuisine.
7. Mom is a bit claustrophobic.
8. Mom has swam with dolphins which is in her bucket list.
9. Mom and Dad cannot travel as much because of us kitties. If they do travel, it is only for a week though we are well taken cared for while they are away. Mom and Dad are not comfortable when they are not around us for a long time.
10. Mom developed mild asthma late last year. She has no intentions of finding out what she is allergic to. She says definietely not cats.
11. It is in Mom's nature to be happy and have a positive outlook. She is happy and contented with simple things in life.
12. Mom's best friend and great love is Dad. They do most things together and share the same values and interests. They are soulmates.
13. Mom loves all animals and wish she can save them all but ...
14. Mom is very organized and this has rubbed on Dad. Mom has trained him well. Teehee!
15. Our home is filled with love, joy, laughter and cats.

Home is where Love resides,
Memories are created
and Laughter never ends.

May Love be the heart of your Home.

Hi Mischief and family!
My Mom was trimming my fur this morning and noticed quite a bit of gray fur on me. She didn’t know cats sometimes go gray as part of the natural aging process. Since I’m a tuxedo cat, the gray fur is more noticeable, especially around my face. Mom says I look dignified. MOL! Hey, I still feel like a kitten!

After seeing Callie and Whitey sitting on the bed together, my Mom believes BC & Shorty will come around too. Mom never thought Callie would let up on Whitey. Orangie is not a problem. She is very docile. Whitey stands her ground until Callie walks away. Callie is such a prima donna!

We're so happy your Mom's trip to the doctor went well. We're keeping her in our prayers. We hope she can take her arthritis medicine again soon! We hope it doesn't snow too much more for you guys. Tell your pawrents to drive careful. They have precious cargo waiting at home!

Give Q. Duchess a warm hug for us. We love her always have her and your family in our prayers.

We read this wonderful pet cat poem we wanted to share with our furiends.
Here’s a vote with purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.

Prayer For My Cat =^.^=
Treat me kindly, dear master. Accord me the courtesy due to a cat — and I for my part will love you, amuse you and cheer your heart as only a cat can do.

Give me a sunny spot to sleep in when morning dawns and I will warm your lap on cold evenings.

Respect my independence and my need to walk alone at times and I will look after myself, so that you may come and go as you please.

Speak to me in our secret kitty language, let me hear my name sung in the music of your voice, and I will meow happily in sweet harmony with you.

Stroke my fur gently and lovingly and I will soothe you with the soft purrs that can only come from a happy cat.

Indulge my curiosity and I will show you the joys of bird watching, star gazing and other kitty pleasures.

Play with me and see me rejoice! Toss a humble ball of yarn and I will delight you with my cleverness and acrobatic leaps.

But do not laugh at me or allow me to be teased for there is nothing I prize more than my dignity.

Keep my surroundings neat and clean and I will be fastidious in my habits.

Feed me and be fair and I will teach you how to tell “kitty time” by instinct and tummy tunes.

And when I am old and the time comes to say farewell, hold me gently in your arms and I will go without a whimper.

For with you I am trusting, safe and secure. A cat who walked alone but loved you with a full and happy heart.

Hello Mischief
What’s mew with you? I am napping in my heated bed. It is a very cold (35 degrees) & rainy ☂ day here in south Mississippi. Tonight we are forecast to receive a freezing rain/sleet/ice mixture with possibly one inch of snow❄ We hope not because down here, we don’t “do” frozen stuff too well.

Monday was fluids day for MerryBelle. All went well. She will get more fluids tomorrow. Please keep my sweet sister in your prayers. We are very worried about her.

Stay warm & comfy cozy.

Hi Mischief and family!
My sister Callie has almost stopped growling at Whitey and Orangie every time they get close to her. Last night when our pawrents were getting ready for bed, Mom walked into the bedroom and was shocked to see Callie, Whitey and Orangie lying on the bed. Sure, Callie was on the opposite of the bed, but Callie usually waits until Mom gets in bed before she jumps up into her spot. Mom was so happy! (Geez, it doesn’t take much!) I of course, am always neutral and get along with everyone. I knew the girls would come around eventually. MOL!

Oh no! The last thing your pawrents need now is car problems! Thank goodness your Auntie was there to help. Maybe your Dad could disconnect the cables on the car battery until they're ready to drive it. We're glad to hear your generator is okay. You're all lucky to have a Dad that is always prepared for emergencies. We hope the weather starts warming up soon for you guys. We wish we could send you some of our sun!

Give Q. Duchess a warm hug for us. We're so happy to hear she didn't need fluids just yet. Your Mom seems to have a handle on how to best take care of her baby.

We'll be praying for your Mom's trip to the doctor to go well. Sending pawsitive thoughts and prayers her way. Give everyone hugs for us sweetie. We love you.

We left a vote with purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.

You're thin and hungry yet again,
Your coat is rough and wet with rain,
And during Winter's frost and snow
You will have nowhere warm to go.

You really are a stupid cat,
To tolerate a life like that,
Take my advice, my friend and get
A really well-trained human pet.

I know they're thin upon the ground,
But, nonetheless they can be found.
And you would have a proper home,
With comforts you have never known.

Well-trained pets are quiet and kind,
Obey requests and never mind
How often you go in and out.
They wait on you and never shout.

Fresh milk and water, meat and fish,
Would be provided as you wish;
You would not need to hunt for food;
Only for fun, when in the mood.

Such luxury would turn your head,
Chairs by the fire; a soft, warm bed,
And God made humans with a lap,
Especially to nurse a cat.

So search the neighbourhood with care,
It may take time, but don't despair,
You'll find it well worthwhile to get,
A first-class, loving, human pet.

Hi Mischief and family!
There’s not too much going on here today except grocery shopping and house cleaning. That means the vacuum monster has been let loose! Our weather is overcast and windy today. When Mom took Callie and me on our stroller walk this morning, the leaves were blowing all over the place keeping us cats on high alert. MOL!

My Mom went next door to check on our neighbor and Ebony and Sugar Bear. The cats were napping in the bay window and their Mom Abarna is getting stronger every day.

What an awfully frightening experience for you and your family! When we saw Tennessee on the weather channel, we got right to work praying for all of you to be safe. Now your poor Dad has a lot of clean up to do. We hope he has some help. Thank goodness you had a generator to keep the house warm, but what happened after it ran out of fuel? It's a good thing us cats have our own fur coats! We're keeping all of you in our thoughts and prayers dear furiend.

We're glad to hear Q. Duchess is doing okay. My Mom agrees the antibiotics might be causing her loose stools. Maybe the vet can stop the antibiotics for a while and then start up again to give Q. Duchess' system a break. My GM had a toy poodle who had bad teeth when he was older (about 20 years old) and the vet didn't want to pull them because it would have been too hard on him. So the vet would prescribe antibiotics for a few weeks, then stop and start again as necessary. This went on for a couple of years and it seemed to work. Give sweet Q. Duchess a warm hug for us and letting her know we're praying for her.

We hope your Mom is feeling better too. She has been through so much lately. Give her a warm kitty kiss for us.

We left a vote with purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.

Just A Cat =^.^=
She is - just a cat.
A very small presence
doesn't take up much space.
Large green eyes
much too big for her face.
She is - just a friend.
Happy to be greeting you
while purring a tune
improving how you feel
and never, too soon.
She is - just a joy.
Guarding windows
sleeping on the bed
chasing unseen ghosts
until she's fed.
She is - just yours.
No other will do
her choice is clear
with anyone else
she will just disappear.

Happy Monday
This week will be our last week for our catpaign. It has been a wonderful experience actively blogging. In the past years Mom has been silently voting with just a few blogs from time to time. Honestly, Mom does not blog much but this catpaign has made Mom very happy with the positive feedback and appreciation of our blogs from:
being a first time feline pawrent
to meeting our furmily
to the unforgettable experience visiting a cat cafe and
to the heartache of losing a fur baby.
Last Saturday, we remembered our sweet ole Bait's seventh month passing. Mom still has a heavy heart knowing he is no longer with us but because someone we love is in heaven,
there is a little bit of heaven in our home.
Today, Monday, I started the week with a firm nose kiss on Mom's nosey. I know this act makes her happy among many other things. So let's start the week by choosing to be happy and always believe that something wonderful is about to happen.

Stay happy,
be positive
and do great things!
Good morning and
have a happy Monday!

Hi Mischief and family!
The weather is a bit windy and overcast with no rain in sight. We are all doing fine, catnapping in the windows. My Mom made a trip to Petco this morning for our food and a few treats. Today is our Dad’s last day of vacation after a week off. He’s been going with us on our stroller walks and we’ll miss him.

We're always glad to hear that sweet Q. Duchess is doing fine. Give her a warm hug for us. We hope your Mom is feeling better too. That's wonderful that Shorty is adjusting to being an inside kitty. We knew BC would come around eventually! We have all of you in our prayers dear furiend. We hear about how dreadfully cold it is where you live and pray for all of you to stay safe and warm

We left a vote with purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need, especially our furiends across the country in the path of the severe cold weather threats.

Found A New Home =^.^=
Left by the road, nobody cared
I really hoped that I would be spared.
Out for a walk, along came a friend
heard my cry, I knew she would bend.
Called kitty kitty, then picked me up
I was so small like a little tea cup.
Went for a ride, found a new home
no longer lost, never alone.

Kitty heaven
Mom's travels has brought her to different cities in Europe, the US, Middle East and Asia. But one of her most memorable trip was in Japan. In April last year, in full bloom of the cherry blossoms, Mom & Dad travelled to Osaka and Mom made sure to include a visit to the very first cat cafe, Neko No Jikan. Mom asked for directions from the hotel concierge and when they got off the train she asked directions from a young lady who kindly led us to the cafe, about fifteen minutes walk from the train station. Mom was amazed as she heard stories of how kind and hospitable Japanese are to tourists and she experienced it first hand with the young lady walking with Mom & Dad to show the way to the cafe.

Mom & Dad were given handling instructions: wash their hands, keep their voices down, no flash photography. Clearly, the cafe put the interest of the cats first and foremost which made Mom happy as the kitties welfare should be top priority.

Mom and Dad sat with the kitties for an hour. Some were showing off climbing and running, some were sleeping and some would just sit on their lap purring. There were pure breeds and rescued kitties all together. One kitty even took a sip at Mom's drink. Teehee! All the kitties were calm, relaxed, happy and good natured which shows how well they were cared for. It was such a calming and peaceful experience that both Mom and Dad plan to go back on their next trip to Osaka.

p.s. Mom shared photos taken with her iPhone and they are in my gallery.

Hi Mischief and family
Sorry we haven’t been by to meow to you lately. My Mom has been helping out next door with Ebony, Sugar Bear and their Mom Abarna while she recuperates. My pawrents have also been working to get their taxes done and filed this week, while my Dad is on school break this week.

Needless to say, us cats have been neglected, but Mom promises to make it up to us. Humph! We’ll see. I’m working on my list! MOL!

We hope your sweet Mom is feeling better. We always have her, Queen Duchess, Oleo and all of you dear furiends in our prayers. We saw on the weather mews station that you guys are getting very cold weather. Try to stay safe and warm sweetie.

Window of Time =^.^=
She sits at the window
frozen in time.
What does she really see?
Ghosts from the past
a thousand years old
creatures we don't understand.
Tail twitching, body poised
not moving an inch
mesmerized by the world outside.
A quiet little mouse,
white tailed deer,
or shadows from wind blown trees.
I look, I stare
but I just don't see
the view from cat's eyes so intense.
Hours pass, the cat stands guard,
sky bleeding night black to dawn gray.
Night after night
at the window of time
what stories unfold out of sight?

good morning!
we're -4 here this morning and nowhere to go as of right now. nat finally got the path to the next door neighbor's oil barrel fill up shoveled out and the back trench as he cleaned snow out of the gutters and found ice just in one spot out front as usual and spread a bit more ice melt there as well seeing there was still quite a bit of snow there. it'll likely melt today as we're due to get into the lower 30s here and mid 30s on sunday when it's due to get 5-8" heavy wet snow or janet's praying for lighter stuff. we might also get a sinker but it's the next storm and cold front which will do the samething we've gotten the past month. looks like after the first week janet's been able to get a full week worked she's been scheduled for she'll be taking sunday off if they are saying 5-8" of the crap. her left side is just healing from the recent aggrivation to it she did last sunday doing the front trench. she was told NOT to do any shoveling or things like that which is why nat's been having to do most of the work around here and was hoping for a break into next week, but now here we go again, yet, still!!! :( grrrr!!!! sandy,ab,haley, angels

Best Friends Furever
To complete our furmily, our baby and youngest rescue is three year old happy girl Bullie-Boo. Bullie showed up at our doorstep in 2012 as a kitten with huge ears, lovely green eyes and beautiful swirl markings. Dad felt that we already had a handful having two special needs kitty with Yak and Bait but Mom fell in love with little Bullie and convinced Dad to take her in. Little Bullie's idol is her big brother Tong. She would follow him around, play fight in the garden with Tong, chase critters and bugs together.

Having Bullie became a blessing to us and her brother Tong. During the long months of Tong's anxiety issues, Bullie was Tong's constant companion and comfort buddy. She would tease Tong for a play fight, chase each other up the stairs and she would even cover his pee and poo whenever Tong would leave them uncovered in the box. Sometimes, Mom feels guilty as most attention are with us four kitties. But Bullie doesnt seem to mind as she is one happy and independent bundle of joy. She's most happy playing chase and play fight with Tong and she can play happily too on her own with her favorite rabbit toy.

But Bullie is also one naughty little girl. She loves to pick on her sister Yak. When she gets the chance, Bullie chases Yak and gives her the thunder paw. Mom and Dad now sees to it that they are supervised when together.

Tong and Bullie are inseprable buddies or best friends furever. Tong being the alpha and Bullie the little soldier. When Tong meows, surely Bullie will come running to his rescue. These two have a special sweet bond and both Mom and Dad are so grateful for taking Bullie in at the right time for a special reason... to be Tongs companion and best friend.

Thank you Bullie for choosing our home and loving Tong just the way he is.

Happy Monday
We continue to introduce our furmily and today the spotlight is on my mischievous and zany brother Tong.

Tong was one of the neighbor's kitten roaming freely who found his way to our home whenever he gets hungry. Tong had a mischievous wide eyed look and does a head tilt which Dad found too cute, innocent and funny. Thus his name, Tong.

Tong is a free spirited kitty. He loved to explore the garden, climb trees and windows. But our home was his solace and safe haven. Though he would roam freely (he was fixed at six months) he would always stay close to home, however did not want to be confined indoors. At an early age, Tong had tantrums like a child. He would push over a flower pot from the ledge, he would climb the screened door whenever he wanted to be let out, he would meow excessively when he did not get his way.

Despite his ways, Tong was adorable and sweet that any mischief he does is almost always acceptable. Most times he would provoke the neighbors cat and most times and he would run screaming to us for help. He has a loud cry for help that we recognize and that means he needs to be rescued.

When we moved to our new home two years ago, Tong had the longest adjustment period as he no longer was permitted to go outdoors. He overgroomed, had bald patches, sprayed pee outside the box and meowed constantly. With anxiety meds and TLC, Tong improved after several months and is now a happy indoor kitty ... who still demands for his food at the exact feeding hour or else ... he will hound you relentlessly.

Mom's love for Tong is truly unconditional.

Happy Monday.

Today is a gift.
Be a blessing.
Be a friend.
Take time to care.

Have a wonderful week.

its time to start putting up shamrocks!
we're ready inside the living room, doors and flag outside till near the day and are mixing in easter too seeing easter is just not to long after that and likely we'll still see snow on the ground here the way things are going, getting clobbered by an-other storm octavia which is giving snow/ice down your way will be followed next weekend by pandora and we were really, really lucky we didn't get more than 4" and the roads were passable, so janet decided to go into work today and was the only one in till 8 as the asst. boss called in sick and the next part timer wasn't due in till 8 and jessie not due in till 9 as he was the only full timer due in he had to do the order as well as setting some of the stuff up and if they didn't get anymore sick calls those would be doing the work this afternoon and tonight till closing time. she was going to stay home if we did get more than 4", but were lucky as it just didn't get it's act together around here till sometime earlier on this morning as we didn't get much last night 1-2" at that time. sandy,ab,haley, angels

Hi Mischief and family!
Good mews! Ebony and Sugar Bear’s Mom Abarna is coming home today! The doctor said she is well enough to come home but has to get lots of rest. My Mom is going to make dinner for her homecoming. Ebony and Sugar Bear will be so happy!

We are all fine, enjoying another sunny day. We wish we could share our warm weather with all our furiends back east. Mom took Callie and me for a short walk this morning in our stroller. The creek is almost dried up again. It was nice while it lasted.:(

We hope and pray your sweet Mom is still feeling better. We have her in our prayers. Give sweet Q. Duchess and Oleo big hugs for us. We always have your family in our prayers dear furiend. Your precious family is always on top of our list!

Happy Valentine’s Day in case we don’t mew with you tomorrow! ♥

We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and prayers for those in need.

Feed, feed, feed my cat
Morning, noon and night
He won't eat this, he won't eat that
I am in a plight!
Tuna, mackeral, kidney, beef
I have tried each one
Or does he want a chicken breast
Baked gently 'til it's done?
No matter what I serve my cat
He begins to pout
I'm going to print a menu so
He just can point it out!

Hi Mischief and family
The sun is shining today and the next few days will be unseasonably warm here for February. We’ll be in the mid to high 70’s. San Diego, where GM lives, will be in the mid 80’s. Yikes! It doesn’t look good for our creek. (Heavy sigh!)

My Mom feeds and checks on Ebony and Sugar Bear every morning and in the evening - sometimes in-between. Ebony always greets Mom by jumping into her arms as soon as she walks through the door. My Mom braces herself for it, because the first day Ebony almost knocked Mom off her feet. MOL! The kitties are fine, missing their Mom Abarna. The doctor will assess Abarna’s condition on Friday and hopefully she can come home.

We are so happy and relieved to hear your dear Mom is feeling better. What a frightening experience for all of you to have your Mom in the hospital! We're glad your Mom was able to go with your Dad to the VA Clinic and at least they got to enjoy a nice lunch out. They need that!

It's good to hear your pawrents are having Q. Duchess's bad teeth treated with antibiotics rather than surgery. Surgery would be so hard on her right now and at least the antibiotics will keep any infection at bay. We hope Q. Duchess doesn't hate the taste of the antibiotics too much. My Mom always has to ask the vet to flavor oral antibiotics (for Callie mainly) with banana or vanilla. Callie hates the pink popcorn medicine and always spits it out! We're sorry to hear Q. Duchess is having hip problems too, poor baby.

We hope and pray Oleo's eye is doing better too. Give everyone warm hugs for us. We have all of you in our prayers sweetie.

We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and prayers for those in need.

They are my friends -
a constant joy
Faithful companions,
not meant as a toy!
Beauty and grace in their walk
in their hearts
Happiness giving. . .
Never forsaking -
Thankful for living.

... until we meet again sweet Ba-it
Writing about Ba-it has been very difficult for Mom. It has been 7 months since he earned his wings but the heartache still lingers. How can a rugged, scarred and senior kitty break our hearts into so many pieces?!?!? Ba-it left us too soon but we shared four happy and precious years together. We could have given him anything and everything, but that day he chose to free his body from pain. Today, he is running free, happy and healthy in heaven.

Our hearts still ache with sadness
And many tears will flow.
What it meant to loose you,
No one will ever know.

We hold you close within our hearts,
And there you will remain
To walk with us throughout our lives,
Until we meet again.

Time will heal Mom and Dad's heart. How long, they don't know.

I think about you always
I think about you still
You have never been forgotten
And you never will
I hold you close within my heart
And there you will remain
To walk with me throughout my life ...

Until we meet again.

I love you always and forever Ba-it!!!

Dear Mischief and family
We apologize for not being able to meow to all our CC furiends, but Mom has been helping our next door neighbor take care of the cats, Ebony and Sugar Bear, whom are both doing fine. Their Mom Abarna is still in the hospital, and probably will be there for a few more days. She looks better but the doctor wants to keep a watchful eye on her congested lungs. Thank you for your prayers and get well wishes. My Mom has passed them along to Abarna who smiles when she hears about the CC furiends who are praying for her.

The sun has been shining,- no more rain in sight, but the creek still has a little bit of water flowing in it. Mom finally took Callie and me for a walk in our cat stroller this morning. Whitey and Orangie are fine, still enjoying their time in the backyard exploring, but not yet staying outside long enough to cat nap.

We are so sorry to hear your dear Mom had to be in the hospital. You must all be so very worried. Tell her we have her in our prayers sweetie.

Oh poor Q. Duchess! We hope the 3 infected teeth don't have to come out. You and your family must be beside yourselves with worry. We have all of you in our thoughts and prayers dear furiend. God bless your precious family.

We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and prayers for those in need.

Just as I had passed my tongue
Over every inch of me;
Stroked, brushed, rubbed, scoured,
Cleaned, burnished, and polished to an even sleekness,
You touched me,
And now it's to do
All over again.

Thank you for my 6th COTD honor!!
It's a double celebration day at our house! Not only did I win my 6th COTD but our doggie Sammie won her 3rd DOTD on DC! Mom was really surprised to see both of us in the spotlight of fame today & wondered how she was going to help both of us! Easy mom...Sammie will do her thank you blogs tomorrow because (as all of you know) cats rule...MOL! She did post a blog that all of her furiends can see though so they'll know she appreciates the warm welcome back.

I deeply appreciate all the visits on my 5 year crossing anniversary that made this special day possible! The beautiful gifts & flowers brightened my day & helped bring back the happy memories of my time on earth with my family, while the hugs & soft purrs soothed mom's heart as she remembered helping me to my furever sleep after finding out I was in the final stages of FIP. Mom couldn't let me suffer so she held me & talked to me as I was given the final loving gift of a peaceful furever sleep.
Although my life on earth was short it was filled with the love of family & furiends so it was a rich one that makes me one of the luckiest kitties in the universe. I also made sure to send them another kitty (Q Trixie) to help fill the void.
Thank you for remembering me beloved furiends & for helping me celebrate being your ACOTD today!

Soft purrs of love,

Hi Mischief and family!
Ebony and Sugar Bear’s Mom Abarna is in the hospital with pneumonia, so Mom is taking care of the kitties at their home. Their Mom was suffering from a bad cold, which turned out to be much worse. Her son is staying at the hospital with her until she comes home. We’ll keep you posted.

We did get a lot of rain and wind over the weekend, enough to make the creek run a little bit. But the rain is over for now and temperatures in the mid 70’s are expected later this week.

We're glad to hear what a great job you kitties are doing taking care of your sweet Mom. We always have her, Q. Duchess and Oleo in our thoughts and prayers. We hope Q. Duchess is doing okay. We know she probably hates getting fluids, but it must make her feel better afterwards. We're hoping too that Oleo'e eye just needs a little more time to heal. We know your Mom and Dad are doing the best they possibly can. My Mom still can't imagine ever trying to put medicine in one of our eyes! God bless all of you dear furiend. We love you.

Introducing ... our FURmily
We would like to start the week by introducing our furmily. All four of my siblings are rescue babies. Here's their story.

Today, Monday, meet our little darling and Daddy's little girl, Yak.

One day, Mom noticed a bunch of kitties being fed by a neighbor. Among them was a tiny white kitty with black markings who clearly appeared to be the runt. She would try to squeeze her way to the bowl but was unsuccessful. When the others were done, only then could she eat the leftovers, well if there was any left. So Mom brought out some food, left it for her and she finally had a good meal for the night. The next day, Mom saw her again and that's how it all started. Mom was drawn to her among all the kitties. She would greet Mom, rub on her and made a loud yackity yack sound thus her name became Yak. Mom would feed the kitties at night and she would stand guard by Yak so her food would not be eaten by the others. Yak chose Mom. She would run towards Mom, stay by the garden chair, greet Mom, take her to her car every morning and rub on the door.

Slowly, Yak inched her way to our home and our hearts, specially into Dad's heart. She would sleep on Dad's chest, give him massages, greet us at the door and follow Dad around. She loved to lay on the couch and knew how to use the litterbox. One day ... Yak got spayed, vaccinated, hospitalized a few times for chronic skin and eye inflammation. Then got tested for FIV which turned out ... positive.

Yak had chronic gum inflammation. She would get steroid shots and antibiotics to reduce the inflammation. It was manageable for several months. On bad days, she would hide at the sight of food despite her love for eating. In September 2013, with our Vet's advice and recommendation, we had Yak undergo dental extraction. It was found that she had only a few teeth left and most were rotten and bad. After the procedure, Yak had only three canine left. All went well and Yak quickly recovered from the surgery at home. The next day, she was up and about wanting to eat and from that day on in 2013 Yak has remained steroid free, happy, playful and healthy.

Come visit me, Hami.

continuation ...
Yak is one very playful and happy kitty. She demands playtime from Mom and Dad. She enjoys playing with feathers, fishy toys, laser light and any cat toy presented to her will be pounced on and bitten. A week before Christmas day 2014, Yak and Dad were playing with her fishing pole toy and accidentally hit her head on the table causing one canine to break. The next day, she had to undergo emergency surgery as the open nerve was causing her pain and was unable to eat. During the procedure, Yak had a reaction with the gas and her heart stopped. Dad was a wreck, Mom was in tears ... but with prayers, hope and faith Yak was revived back to life. The vet successfully removed two canine leaving her with only one left. She quickly recovered at home, Dad by her side the whole night, watching over her every move. It'll be over a month since her procedure and Yak is back to her happy and playful self. With one canine left, she happily eats her dry keeble with ease and even manages to sneak on my dry food. Well, Mom catches her all the time so she doesn't get away with it.

Dad doesn't admit it, but we all know that deep in his heart Yak is his fav little girl. Not that we mind but we can clearly see in his sparkling eyes that Yak is his little darling ... his spoiled rotten girl ... the Diva of our home.

Hi Mischief & family!
It finally started to rain here around noon. The temperature is warm, in the sixties, but the rain is really coming down. We hope it lasts a while. This is purrfect weather for catnapping in our windowsill beds.

Oh dear sweet furiend, we're so sorry to hear about what your Mom is going through. You must all be so very worried. We hope it isn't too uncomfortable for her to wear the heart monitor. 4 weeks is an awfully long time. We know your Dad and all you kitties will be take good care of her and keep a close watch on her in case she needs to go to the ER. We'll keep her in our prayers and Mom will light a healing candle for her at church.

We always have Queen Duchess in our prayers and we're praying that Oleo's eye is doing better. With so much happening at your home, make sure your Mom gets some rest. I know you will sweetie. God bless your family.

Thank you for the prayers for Ebony and Sugar Bear's Mom Abarna and for my family too. You are all such wonderful and very dear friends. We love you.

We hope you have a nice relaxing weekend with your family. We have our paws crossed that our furiends back east get a break from the snow.

We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and prayers for those in need.

Daddy's asleep now in his favorite chair,
He looks very lonely, just lying there;
His lap looks so empty, he breathes a deep sigh.
Quick, jump, little kitty, sing your purr lullaby.

They say Daddy was not a cat person before,
That is, until you came through the door.
Now he can't go to sleep without you very near,
With your soft, velvet paw and your purr full of cheer.

Settle in little kitty, cuddle up, snuggle tight,
For Daddy needs love, especially this night;
It's been a hard day at his job, don't you know,
And he's tired and worn from the strife and the woe.

So give him your best, he needs it just now,
Comfort him, kitty, and give him your vow
To always be near him, I know in your heart
You'll love him forever 'til death do you part.

On the job training ...
When you are first time kitty parents, you learn on the job. One day, Mom noticed bald patches on me at four months old. It turned out to be fungus which I got at the breeders and I also got ear mites. But that was quickly resolved with medicated baths and ear meds. Soon the patches had fur grown back and the ear mites disappeared. Back then, I was not a handsome kitten but my pawrents drooled at my looks. There were other gorgeous kitties out there fur sure but I just captured their hearts. I guess love is blind. Slowly, with daily grooming and lots of TLC, I turned out to be pretty well and my pawrents couldn't be prouder.

On occasions as a young kitten, I would ride in the car with Dad and Mom. Most thought I was a stuffed toy until I moved. They get really surprised and amazed with a furry ball kitty in a car. You see, it's a dogs world over here. I would tag along, cat in a bag, with my pawrents at the pet friendly mall, we would dine al fresco so I could tag along and even spent a few Valentine's day date with them. Mom says that most girls would go and talk to my Dad to ask about me. Teehee! I've also been with them on day trips out of town several times. But what was most exciting was the surprise on Mom's face every time she finds me in the car when we pick her up at the airport whenever she arrives from her travels. She was always so happy to see me.

So the training goes on. One day, Dad came home early from work and noticed that I coughed out something which looked like something he has never seen. Panicked, he scooped me up and rushed me to the vet with the coughed up sample. Lo and behold, it was my first hairball. Whew! It scared my silly Dad fur sure. But all was well and the training continued.

A month before my first purrday, I had some gastro problems which gave them their first big scare. The emergency vet wanted me to stay in the hospital but Dad said we can take better care of him at home administering his meds and monitoring him. Well, I had to be off my keebles to rest my tummy and instead had boiled chicken which I didn't like. Stubborn ole me, I refused to eat the chicken for two days. So out came the ever reliable Fancy Feast Classic which no cat can ever refuse. Yummy! Soon after I was back to my old self, happy and healthy once again. Those were tough days for them. Mom stayed home for a few days shedding tears and not joining a very important client at work. But she said, family comes first.

So I spent my first purrday in my loving home. Blessed and happy to be in my furever home. I've had nine blessed purrdays and we are oh so grateful for every year that comes by.

Treat each day with a grateful heart.

Love and enjoy life today

... as tomorrow in not promised.

Hi Mischief and family!
It really does look like rain is on the horizon for us. It was cloudy and windy on our stroller walk this morning. The sound of the leaves blowing along the trail kept Callie and me on high alert. My Mom laughed at us and told us to relax. We filled the water bucket by the creek in case it doesn’t rain until tonight. We stopped when we heard a loud woodpecker, coming from a tall tree. We couldn’t see him, but he sounded like he was chopping the tree down. MOL! I told Mom we need to bring binoculars next time.

We all got to spend some time in the backyard, but the wind kept kicking up and scaring us, so we finally all decided to come in and claim our catnapping spots by the windows. Ebony and Sugar Bear’s Mom has a very bad chest cold, so Mom is making some chicken soup for her and for dinner tonight. Mom always boils a separate chicken breast for us kitties. Yummy!

Give sweet Q. Duchess a warm hug for us. We're so glad to hear she is doing okay. We know you all take such great care of her. Give your pawrents warm hugs for us sweetie. We always have your precious family in our prayers.

We hope all our CC furiends and their families are staying warm and safe.

Cats On Birds =^.^=
They're difficult to eat;
you can crush their hollow bones,
but the feathers choke you,
and the real bird's so much smaller
than they look with those tails and wings.
The game's the thing.

Cats with no training whatsoever
coolly perform the feats of acrobats.
We excel in every possible move
on the gameboard: we play to win.
Birds are the pieces that fly off the board
into their own dimension
while we stare and switch our tails,

Yet whether by accident or skill,
sometime against all odds you'll catch,
pierce, hold the trashing wings,
master the powers of air. It's worth
a lifetime's stalking, pouncing, getting fooled.
Feathers be damned.

Thursday meow
Hi sweet furiends! Sorry I wasn't able to blog yesterday but mom was too sore after shoveling snow to help me. She's still a tiny bit achy today but much better than last night. She said the rest of the snow can be moved by dad & the kids...or melt...MOL!

It's a bitterly cold day out but the outside kitties are all doing great & are keeping warm snuggling in their houses on the front porch. Silly Sammie dog insisted on going out to bark for a while but mom says she can't stay out too long or her tail might freeze off. That could be interesting....MOL!

We're on the trail of another mouse! Monkey, Fluffinella & I are the main 'watchers' but I've seen Piggy & Sneakers sniffing around too. Some day they'll learn to catch them & keep hold of them but right now they still think they're toys...which means any they catch get away...MOL!

Well I'd better cut this short so mom can head outside to get the dog before she gets too cold. Wrapping you in warm fuzzy paw hugs as I leave you a tuna filled vote.

Hi Mischief and family!
My Mom took Callie and me for a walk this morning and we said to meow to our little yappy furiend and his jogger. We filled the water bucket back up by the creek and saw a couple of squirrels along the way. Then Mom made a trip to Petco for us. Mom had ten dollars in Petco rewards she needed to use. I gave her my list and Mom didn’t forget a thing. Whoo hoo! We hope you’re having a nice, relaxing day too.

We're so glad to hear you kitties are getting along better. BC, just like my sister Callie, still have to learn that growling never has a good outcome. Callie is getting better at night with Whitey and Orangie on the bed. Callie always sleeps under my Mom's arm and she would constantly growl at Whitey and Orangie even though they are on the foot of the bed. Mom keeps telling her to sssh and finally Callie is getting it. MOL!

We're glad Queen Duchess is doing okay and happy to hear she is treated like the Queen she is. Give her a warm hug for us.

Poor little Oleo. A swollen eye sounds so very uncomfortable. We have him in our prayers sweetie along with your Mom and Dad. It can't be easy to treat a cat's eye. God bless all of you dear furiend. We always have your family in our nightly prayers.

The Sun Always Shines . . .
This is one of our motto. Well it is also because we have sunshine almost all year round and the sun does make you cheerful in many ways. Here in the Philippines, the average temperature is in the 80's. We only have wet and dry season. But when it rains, it really pours. The average tropical cyclone per year is about 20 which will surely hit parts of the 7,100 islands of the country. But after each storm is a ray of sunshine, ready to greet each one of us with a blessed brand new day. So we make it a choice to:

Greet each day with a grateful heart!

The summer months is fast approaching. That will be around March to June. Warmer temps ahead and time to hit the beaches in the southern islands and . . .

time to turn up the AC for the kitties.

Hi Mischief and family!
The sun is shining here today, but it’s also house cleaning day and the noisy vacuum monster has been let loose. Since my Mom doesn’t feel comfortable yet letting Whitey and Orangie out in the backyard unsupervised, we all had to be holed up in the bedroom until she was finished vacuuming. Not fair!

Good mews is we’re expecting rain this Friday through Sunday. Whoo hoo! We’ll believe it when we see it. We have our paws crossed.

Wow! We wish we could have seen you three black and white kitties eating all together. Hooray! We just knew BC would come around. He is so much like my sister Callie!

We're glad Queen Duchess is doing well. Give her a warm hug from us and let her know we are always praying for her.

We'll keep Oleo in our prayers. An eye infection must be terribly uncomfortable and hard to take care of for your pawrents. We're praying real hard in our prayers at night, that Oleo gets better soon. God bless you and your precious family dear furiend.

Dish Bottom Phobia! =^.^=
I know I just ate some ten minutes ago,
But I felt in the mood for a snack.
And, lo and behold, when I looked in my dish,
I saw the dish bottom look back.
See? Come and see if I'm telling the truth!
Oh... this has upset me severely!
Yes I know there's kibble on that side and this,
but I can see dish-bottom clearly!

I stared in the dish and I measured the place
that was empty, and let out a cry!
What if I finished this part and that part?
It would all be dish-bottom! I'd die!
How can you cruelly ignore my complaint?
The kibble was low, and you knew it!
You're acting as if it was piled to the rim,
while I can see dish-bottom through it!

I nibbled some here and I nibbled some there
and I dropped one or two, being furious.
But nothing improved in this tragic affair,
the state of my dish is so serious!
I'm not kidding! Oh, please come and see the bare spot
on the dish bottom, do as I wish!
Then I guess you don't care if I'm starving or not,
