About Me

Active within 1 Day

Hi! My name is Mischief - Praying for all the sick and lost..

I am Domestic Longhair from Crossville, TN

Nicknames: Mishy, Pretty Girl, Piggy

Age: 4 years old

Gender: F

Coat: long haired

Education: Mischief has begun visiting the local nursing home as a therapy cat. She is not certified, yet, but it's not required there. Everyone loves her!

Got her first COTD/CROTD badges on 8/7/12
2nd COTD - 11/21/14

She became Duchess of Dashingness by winning the ladies competition of the Magnificent Tail Contest on 8/11/12.

My favorite tricks and treats are: She can jump really high when going after Da Bird, or a fly! and She will eat Temptations once in awhile, but she's not excited about treats. Once in awhile, she'll eat Friskies Party Mix out of my hand.

Where I hang out: She loves to sit on either of the towers, or on the window perch. She also like to sit in my bedroom window and watch the birds in the trees.

My favorite grubs: She loves any and all wet food, to the point that she tries to steal everyone elses.

My pet peeves: Not being able to go outside without a harness and leash.
Not being allowed to eat my fursibs food, cuz I want it all!

What I love about my owners: She and Dad made me a part of the family and I have a bigger place to roam around in. I also have many windows to look out of and see all the birds and other critters. They found a good place for my littermates to go.

My cat hobbies: Eat! Run through the house and play with Da Bird and other string or wand toys and sometimes my fursibs. Mom now takes me out in the front yard in the morning, so I can smell the grass, maybe eat a blade or two and chase bugs! Eat!

Pet motto: She doesn't have one, yet.

How We Met

A family was evicted from the mobile home park next door and they had to leave 5 cats behind. My husband and I took care of them for 3 days until animal control could come and collect them. We fell in love with Mischief and brought her home. The others went to an organization called A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin') where they will be cared for until homes are found for them. They are a no-kill organization. We learned just this week (July, 2012) that all of her siblings have been adopted!

Hi Mischief and family!
We have been having some strange issues with CC that started last night. We keep getting “logged out” automatically, having to log back in over and over again. Very frustrating!

Callie has been doing great taking her antibiotics. She likes the tuna water chaser more than she dislikes her meds. Plus getting her off guard in the mornings seems to be working. Callie should be finished with her meds by Wednesday. Hooray!

My Dad woke up this morning with a bad head cold, sneezing and coughing. And are you ready for this? We got RAIN last night! Not a lot- .25 inches, but what a wonderful surprise! We’ll take anything we can get.

Oh sweetie! We love the mew photos in your gallery! Look at you lying next to your doggie fursis Molly! She is a beauty, just like you! My Mom loves doggies and she sure does miss having one in the house. I hope the picture of Molly doesn't give her any ideas. Yikes! Midnight is so handsome and looks very healthy. We can see his eye watching the photographer very carefully!

We are so sorry to hear about your pawrents friend that's in the hospital. He was doing so well! Well at least it happened while he was still at the hospital where they could help him immediately. It could have easily been a lot worse if this had happened at home. We will keep him in our prayers dear furiend, along with you, Queen Duchess and your precious family.

We bet your Mom and Dad's garden is going to look beautiful. We hope your weather cooperates. With the drought getting really bad here, Mom had to replace some of the plants in the front yard with drought-resistant plants (not very colorful). Soon we will only be able to water the yard every other day, but it hasn't been enforced yet. My Mom is thinking of replacing the lawn with rocks and dirt, but she wants to consult with a landscaper. A brown lawn just doesn't look very nice. :(

Give your pawrents big hugs for us. We hope your Dad is feeling better and able to eat a little bit. We always have your dear family in our prayers. Be sure to give Queen Duchess a soft hug for us too! We're going to her page right now to see her mew pictures.

We left a vote with purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need. We hope you’re having a nice weekend so far!

we've had setbacks
in this family mostly master when he was in the hospital and rehab before all this crap with diabetes and mrca got much worse but then again there's nothing anybody can do things just happen and well they/you have to deal with it as it comes. we're down to 32 here when janet got pepper out after 3:30 as she got up after 3 this morning intending on staying in bed and sleeping later, but wanted to get a jump on cc since weekends are usually selective voting. going to make 60 today as we were lucky to see 50 for a few hours yesterday before it went back to the upper 40s for the third day in a row! no more snowflakes here, as it's warmed up and will con-tinue to warm up most of this coming week and by next sun/mon lower to mid 70s! :) as well as jumping from the lower 60s tues to 70 wed and 69 on thurs, so things are looking up. janet's hours have changed starting monday for who knows how long so there goes the morning walks for now at least again as breakfast time is when she's been out walking and the same when she leaves for work at 5:30. she'll get the blogs in when she's got the time and unlike now short and sweet. sandy ab,haley, angels

Hi Mischief and family!
We had a little excitement here last night, but it ended well. About 6:30 last night, Ganesh, our next door neighbor knocked on the door. He was frantic! Sugar Bear had gotten outside. Mom and Dad opened their garage door and the door that leads to the back yard with the cat fence, and they went out on foot to search the neighborhood. Mom asked her neighbor to wait at his home in case Sugar Bear showed up. By 9 pm, no luck and Dad had to go to bed. Mom stayed outside with a flashlight and a bag of cat treats, combing the neighborhood. Mom came home about 10 pm, told the neighbor to leave his garage open for the night and she would do the same. Maybe Sugar Bear would come home on her own. Mom closed the door to our backyard and decided to take one more walk around the block. That’s when she heard a faint mew! It was coming from our backyard. Yep, Sugar Bear had gotten locked in our backyard. She must have run back there when the search was on and was hiding really good because Mom and Dad both looked back there very carefully several times. (Obviously not good enough!) Mom called her neighbor told them the good news and it took her another half hour to scoop up Sugar Bear in the backyard and then take her home. Whew! Mom scolded Sugar Bear, but then had to give her a big hug and kiss. Sugar Bear was covered with leaves and twigs. Mom cleaned her up and took her home. I’ll bet Sugar Bear slept good last night!

My Mom held Callie when they woke up this morning and Dad got her medicine down before she even knew what was happening. Mom had some tuna water ready as a chaser. Success!

We're happy to hear your Dad got a good nights sleep finally. Poor guy needed to hold some food down in his tummy. We hope he's back to 100 percent soon.

Yippee! Q. Duchess is holding her weight at 5 pounds! That's very encouraging. We're glad your Mom is so great about monitoring Q. Duchess, knowing when she needs more medicine to feel better. Thankfully the pain meds aren't causing too much of a problem with her stool. Your Mom and Dad are like guardian angels! Give your family hugs for us and let them know we have them in our prayers every night.

We left a vote with purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.

that's okay
thanks for stopping by as the rain held off till around 6 when supper was late as well seeing janet took a shortcut around the usual longer route scalloped potatoes taste so much better the longer way, but time wasn't on her side so parboiling potatoes slightly and then getting them into the oven with ingredients as well as milk made it just as good. she did walk 3 times and got in the longer walk as well around the entire middle st. block and was back here before 7am and walked pepper again up the street some. then walked again before lunch and again before supper seeing the rain/showers moved on in around 6-6;30 so it was nice they got that walk in. was also warmer than predicted mid to upper 60s for the day as we did see the sun till around noontime and then it was gone poof under incoming clouds from the southwest. now it'll only make the lower 50s today, mid to-morrow, upper sat and lower to mid 60s sun-wed of next week with pop up showers till mon ending as showers at that time. janet doesn't know which day will hold grocery shopping or errands today, if not shopping that'll be tomorrow only and errands today more than likely including a stop at a garden center for leeks/kale/shallots or onions and that's all janet will get for her garden for now, can't plant anything else till later next month after threats of frost are gone. sandy, ab,haley, angels

Hi Mischief and family!
My sister Callie had her second dose of tuna flavored antibiotics this morning, but not without causing a fuss first. My Mom couldn’t find Callie and wanted to give her her medicine before Dad left for work so he could assist. There aren’t too many places to hide in such a small house, but leave it to a smart and wily kitty to find a great hiding place. Callie managed to get her body behind the china cabinet and burrow herself into a hole that’s built into the back of the cabinet! Luckily Dad hadn’t left yet, so he could move the heavy cabinet away from the wall. Mom squeezed in to grab Callie and whew, Callie got her meds. Afterwards Mom held Callie in her arms for several minutes to make sure Callie didn’t throw up.

Mom was curious and tasted the medicine for herself. It smells like tuna, but the taste is still yucky. Maybe the pharmacist needs a new recipe. MOL! Mom thinks somehow us kitties still know it's medicine, but it definitely smells better. Mom is thinking of ordering a different flavor for me when I get my teeth cleaned next month.

Oh no! Your poor Dad is sick! Do you think it's a stomach flu?! First an achy back and now an upset tummy! Maybe he worked too hard when he has been cutting the grass. We hope he has the time to lay down and rest. Make sure you encourage him to. We'll be praying for him sweetie.

We're glad to hear your pawrent's friend is doing better in the hospital. That's wonderful mews.Coming home on Friday is much better than being in the hospital for ten whole days! Yikes.

We'll be praying for Q. Duchess dear furiend. We hope the fluids make her feel better. Maybe she'll even purr for your sweet Mom again. We'll be looking for the mew pictures of pretty Q. Duchess and Midnight.

Give your family warm hugs for us Your Mom is doing so much lately, we hope she doesn't get sick. We'll be praying for all of you sweetie.

Hi Mischief and family!
Not too much to meow about today. My Mom picked up Callie’s “flavored” medicine at the vet and she had to run some errands for Dad. The weather cooled off, only making it to 72 degrees today. Very nice for catnapping in the windows for all of us.

That was so nice of your pawrents to take their friend to the hospital. 150 miles is quite a drive! We hope their friend is doing okay and we're glad to hear they had a safe trip.

We'll keep your sweet Dad in our prayers. Has he tried one of those Ben-Gay patches for aches and pain? They're not very big, but might make his back feel better especially when driving. We're glad he has a sensible doctor who is not quick to put his patients through back surgery!

We hope and pray Q. Duchess had a good day today; maybe she even purred for your Mom! Give them both soft kitty kisses for us. We always have your precious family in our prayers.

Hi Mischief and family!
My sister Callie got the results today, from her blood and urine tests on Friday. Callie’s urine showed a trace of blood, so she has to take antibiotics for a few days. The good mews is my Mom asked the vet about “flavored” medicine- per her CC friends, and the vet said she would be happy to get Callie’s meds flavored -she just never gets many request s for that because of the cost. My Mom sends many thanks to all our CC friends! I predict there will be tuna flavored antibiotics when I get my teeth cleaned next month. Hooray!

Thanks so much to your smart Mom dear furiend. We owe you one! My Mom has asked about getting Callie something for anxiety too, when she goes away next time. Dad is able to give Callie medicine. Callie is the only cat in the house that will let Dad handle her.

We are so sorry to hear your Dad's back is hurting. We hope he doesn't make it worse with all the work he has still left to do. We'll be praying for him sweetie.

We hope pretty Q. Duchess was purring again today. Her purring must be music to your Mom's ears. Give her a soft hug for us.

We are all mourning the Rainbow Crossing of our dear furiend Queen MerryBelle today. That pretty kitty sure did put up a good fight. We know her family will be hurting the most, but Angel MerryBelle will be resting comfortably in Heaven with all of our precious Angels.

We're glad to hear your pawrents had a nice time yesterday at the church. That was so nice of them to say prayers for their CC furiends. We definitely know the importance and power of prayers. Give your wonderful, loving family hugs for us dear furiend.

Hi Mischief and family!
My sister Callie is doing fine, getting lots of attention from Mom. She hasn’t had any more mishaps in the litter box and she hasn’t thrown up any more fur balls, so we’re pretty sure Callie was just stressing out from when Mom was away. Callie even felt up to a stroller ride this morning. Dad went with us. It was quiet on the trail, no humans or any yappy doggies. We haven’t seen our quail furiends again, but we leave birdseed just in case.

Yes we cats are very sensitive to what's happening in our household, some more than others. We're so relieved to hear that sweet Q. Duchess hasn't had any more seizures since January. That must have been so scary for your pawrents.

Oh sweetie, we were so happy to hear that Q, Duchess was purring again while she was eating! That's wonderful and we know it must have warmed your dear Mom's heart to hear her purring. We hope Q. Duchess has a good day today too.

It sounds like your pawrents are going to have a busy day today. We hope they have a wonderful time. At least they'll be close by so they shouldn't be too late with your dinners. MOL!

Wow! We bet your Dad was tired after mowing the lawn 3 times! Whew! What a job that was!

Thanks for letting us know the vet can make cat medicine that's flavored. For some reason our vet has never told my Mom that that is an option. When I get my teeth cleaned in May, my Mom is going to ask for the flavored medicine for me. The higher price doesn't matter if it will make the medicine go down easier!

We hope you have a nice relaxing Sunday while your pawrents are having fun. Give everyone big hugs for us. We always have your precious family in our prayers dear furiend.

Hi Mischief and family!
Sorry we missed meowing at our furiends yesterday. My Mom took my sister Callie to the vet for a check up. Mom was worried about Callie the day before when she peed outside the litter box. Then Thursday night Callie threw up a hairball. Afterwards Callie kept coughing as if something was caught in her throat. This lasted for a few minutes and then she settled down, but maybe once every hour she would start to cough again. This went on most of the night. So off they went to the vet on Friday morning.

The vet needed a urine sample, but Callie had peed on Mom when she put her in the cat carrier (she always does that.). The vet gave Callie a diuretic and let Mom wait with her while it took effect. Mom read to Callie from James Herriot’s Cat Stories book while they waited. The vet got a urine sample, gave Callie an examination - said her heart was beating very fast, but that was normal for a frightened cat. Callie never coughed once while at the vet! The vet asked if anything has changed at home, so Mom told her she had been gone for almost 2 weeks. The vet nodded knowingly and said Callie is probably stressed out. The vet took a blood sample too, but the results won’t be in until Monday. Callie’s urine sample did not have blood, which made my Mom very happy. The vet, whose name is Dr. Natt, weighed Callie and she has lost another ½ pound, so that was good mews.

The rest of us are doing fine. Callie has been getting all of Mom’s attention. I think she planned it that way. MOL!

My Mom never understands why the pharmaceutical companies can't make pet medicine that is flavored with tuna or something palatable. If they did, they would make a fortune! Callie is looking better this morning - no coughing and she is using her litter box again. Mom is hoping it was just stress. We like to hear that Q, Duchess is eating. Eating really does make all the difference in the world in how we feel.

We're glad to hear sweet Shorty is feeling better. Maybe he just needed to rest up a bit. We have him and Q. Duchess in our prayers sweetie.

It sounds like your Dad is going to be busy mowing a lot of grass! We can only imagine how beautiful your yard must look, all lush and green! Out here the trees and plants look very sad and dry.:(

not to much
really going on here mommy's using her walker again due that she fell backwards in her bedroom against the trash basket and pile of clothes which otherwise she might have hurt herself more than a deeply bruised tail bone which makes painful moving around, getting up/down so she has to put ice/heat on it which helps and gets up to walk around to prevent stiffening which can be worse by sitting or laying way to long! otherwise she's doing good as is master as he wants janet to stop by for more flowers for mommy after work, but they've already said no due to 3 vases of them 2 in janet's and one in the living room have to keep them up high as haley loves to eat the leaves and then barf them somewhere like on the rug making a mess! janet plans to start both gardens this weekend one last day today into the mid 70s then all 50s basically next week with a sprinkling of 60s tomorrow tues/wed and to start the week after next. rain/showers/boom-ers mon-wed but not in the morning for sports day or her long walk she hopes. sandy,ab,haley, angels

Hi Mischief and family!
We went for our stroller walk an hour late this morning because someone had peed outside of one of the litter boxes last night, so Mom had to clean up the mess. I won’t name names, but I’m pretty sure it was a calico cat. Hee, hee, hee! Mom isn’t sure why it happened, but she is going to keep a close eye on Callie. Callie has suffered from UTI’s and bladder stones before, but it has been years since she’s had a problem. There’ s no sign of blood in her urine, so Mom is hoping it was just an accident.:(

Anyway, an hour late on the trail by our house means a lot more people were out walking their dogs, so it was a thrilling ride this morning. Big dogs are always curious about what’s in the stroller, but most dog owners try to keep their dogs at bay. My Mom is thinking of putting a “Baby On Board” sign on our stroller. MOL!

It’s still a bit windy here today and is going to warm up to the 80’s. The news is warning about a high fire danger the next couple of days. Yikes! Not good when you’re having a drought. Imagine what the summer has in store for us!

Wow! Grass that tall would really be fun to play in, but awfully hard to mow! It sure does sound pretty though! I bet that lady was very happy to get the loads of wood from your Dad. That was very nice of him to let her have it.

Midnight and Frosty sound like really sweet kitties. We're so glad they found shelter at your home. They're very lucky cats. So Shorty is putting on weight? It is hard to control our diets without affecting all of us. My Mom is lucky with Callie (who has the weight problem) that Callie doesn't like the food I eat or the stuff Whitey and Orangie eat. Callie did go for the Temptation treats that Mom used to leave in a bowl all day, so Mom had to stop the free-grazing treat bowls. That darned Callie! So we all get less treats and Mom finally found a cat toy that Callie likes to play with for exercise. It's just a simple colorful string on a wand that for some reason Callie loves. Mom plays with her for 15 minutes twice a day and that has really helped Callie get exercise. She's losing weight slowly, but she's not gaining! We'll keep our paws crossed for Shorty. We hope it's not a medical problem.

We're glad to hear your Mom's son and his wife made it to Louisiana safely. It sounds like your Mom had a wonderful visit with them.

Give sweet Q. Duchess and the family hugs for us sweetie. We always have all of you in our prayers.

Hi Mischief and family!
It was another windy and chilly morning for our stroller walk. That darned Mom of ours kept sneezing as we walked along the trail, scaring away all the birds. Must be allergies. We could see tiny white dust flying through the air. Yikes!

Today is the day for all of us to get our Revolution Flea/Heartworm Treatments. Whitey got it first so we’re all on to what Mom is up to and have decided not to follow her around as much as we have been. MOL!

Mom washed all our beddings yesterday and changed all the kitty litter boxes. Today we fear the vacuum monster will be back out. We can’t believe we actually missed our Mom so much! Okay, I know - we have to take the bad with the good. (Heavy sigh!)

Wow sweet furiend, you and your family had some very busy days! What a wonderful surprise for your Mom to run into her son at a restaurant after six years! It almost sounds like a great movie! That was great they were able to stay with you guys for a few days, even though you kitties had to give up your room. MOL! All for a great cause, right?! I'm not surprised your Mom's daughter-in-law wanted to take you home. Who wouldn't?! But you're right, home with Mom & Dad is where are hearts will always be.

We read on CMR that Q. Duchess had to get more fluids so we hope she's feeling better. Poor baby. The diarrhea caused from the antibiotic doesn't help. It sounds like your Mom and the vet are doing a wonderful job caring for sweet Q. Duchess. We're glad to hear she is eating and drinking water. That is music to our ears! Give Q. Duchess a soft hug for us. We always have her and your precious family in our prayers.

We left a vote with purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.

Left by the road, nobody cared
I really hoped that I would be spared.
Out for a walk, along came a friend
heard my cry, I knew she would bend.
Called kitty kitty, then picked me up
I was so small like a little tea cup.
Went for a ride, found a new home
no longer lost, never alone.

Hi Mischief and family!
The day started out cool with a strong breeze on our stroller walk. The leaves were blowing all around and over the trail, keeping Callie and me on high alert. We didn’t see our quail furiends, but we left them some birdseed and we filled up our bucket by the dry creek with water. The temperatures are supposed to get to the high 80’s by Friday, not good mews for the drought. :(

My Mom went next door to visit Ebony and Sugar Bear today and they are both doing fine. They crawled all over Mom to welcome her home and Ebony sat in Mom’s lap during her entire visit. We are all still following our Mom around the house, until she brought out the vacuum monster that is. Mom knows how to clear a room. MOL! We all slept with her again last night, my sister Callie always getting the prime position on Mom’s pillow, but I managed to snuggle in Mom’s arm. Whitey and Orangie like to lay against Mom’s legs now. Luckily Mom doesn’t move around a lot at night, because she couldn’t even if she wanted too!

We hope Q. Duchess is doing well. Give her a warm hug for us sweetie. We always have her and your family in our thoughts and prayers.

We left a vote with purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.

Hi Mischief and family!
Whoo hoo! We’re back! I mean my Mom is back from her visit to GM’s in San Diego. We were all very happy to see her when she came home, even Callie who is usually mad at Mom when she comes home after being away. We followed our Mom all around as she unpacked and we all slept on and around her last night in bed. MOL! Mom didn’t mind. She said she missed us too!

Dad did a great job taking care of us, with my help of course. The only bad thing that happened was that my Dad hurt his back when cleaning out our litter box. Not too bad though. He just can’t bend down very well, so Mom made him soak in a hot bathtub. Guess he needs to clean out our litter boxes more often Hee, hee, hee!

We have a lot of reading and catching up to do, so we’ll eventually answer all our blogs. We just wanted to let you know we’re all doing fine. GM is doing fine too. My Mom told us it gets harder and harder to say goodbye to GM, but it’s wonderful to be back home.

We read on the CMR page that sweet Q. Duchess has an infected tooth and something in her colon? We sure hope and pray the vet can do something to make her feel better. Give her a warm hug for us dear furiend. We always have her in our prayers.

We hope your family had a nice Easter sweetie. My Mom got to spend a lot of time with GM and that made her happy. My Mom also got to spend time with her two brothers and sister. GM was delighted to have all her kids together!

Give your family big hugs for us. We hope your weather is starting to settle down. We saw on the mews you all had some wild storms last week and we just kept praying your family made it through okay.

We left a vote with purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.

Hi Michief
Oh yeah..we did as well. It was raining all day yesterday and they kept saying we were under a severe thunderstorm warning, but then they cancelled that after it went south of here, the we had a downpour, hard heavy rain, but no thunder or lightening at all.

Then we were put under a tornado warning as winds were picking up, but then they cancelled that as well, but we sure did get the high winds up to 60mph in places and it is still blowing like crazy today.

Mom went on and shut her computer down last night when she heard we were under a tornado warning, she doesn't want anything to happen to that.

It is a good thing we don't have the back yard set up yet or the chairs and stuff would be everywhere...this wind is awful. We were laughing at a few birds trying to fly, the wind kept blowing them in the opposite direction they wanted to go...they gave up and landed in a nearby tree.

Mom said she got blown home from work today cause the wind is still wild and woolly...papers and leaves are blowing all over the place...I even saw a paper cup go flying down the street with a plastic pop bottle..it is nuts!

None of us wanted to go outside in this wind..we don't need messy fur and we certainly don't want to blow away...so we will wait til tomorrow when mom comes home from work to let us out.

Have a pawsome evening!

what a nice surprise for sure!
good to see a son who's not been seen in such a long time only in pictures, online, letters or on the phone! things at this end are going from bad and cold and wet to warming up to what more like spring should be and well by wednesday next week it'll not only be janet's 6 month dentist visit, cleaning and hoping to get that filling done and in so she won't have to go back till next fall for her next cleaning and check! it'll also be just in time for the RETURN ON SPORTS DAYS EACH AND EVERY WEEK STARTING WEDNESDAY NEXT WEEK THROUGH THE LAST WEEK IN OCTOBER! we just thought we'd do it while the temps were warm enough and well janet's got a mass of things to do outside including mending a few fences, mov-ing another one inside and planting a few things which it should be warm enough for carrots, lettuce, tomato seeds in the ground as last time janet put them in really early they took their time coming up, but they did and didn't get blight till the end of the summer whereas the ones she bought and planted all blighted and well she lost all of it last year ex cept for what she planted from seed! sandy,ab,haley, angels

janet was surprised
to find 1" sleet on the ground out there this morning when she was going to take pepper out, so she had to wait till janet had finished shoveling the ramp/path to the driveway, then the end of the driveway and then her car before being taken outside. no matter, it was already starting to melt and that's all that counts going to only make the lower to mid 40s here today so most should melt away but again might not either! shopping today as well as errands seeing master wants $$ for playing bingo and going to the north hadley sugar shack which isn't to far away from where his nursing home is. actually wanted more, but nat and mommy said no more the $10 which in turn he got mad and hung up. oh well, typical of him he said we're getting like tightwads here at the house but set budget is a set budget and can't do more than that. janet's got bills she's got to pay something to the cpa and will give him $30 she thinks towards the $80 she owes him and just paid the first half of the plowing bill and now has the other half of the bill which she said wouldn't get paid till next month. there went some of the money towards the one morning day trip she and nat were to take this summer, but oh well bills come first! going to be 60s most of next week so now mommy is getting into visiting with master after all the errands are done to see him for a half hour, 45 mins or an hour whatever! :) sandy,ab,haley, angels

Hi Mischief
What’s mew with you? It’s Wednesday so you know what that means - our cleaning lady Mrs. Maryann is here this afternoon. As usual, I am supervising. Watching her work is making me very very sleepy!

We won’t be online tomorrow. Our PawPaw has several doctor appointments, so Mommy will be his & Nana’s chauffeur. Please keep them in your prayers for only good mews.

Happy Good Friday Mischeif
Today it is overcast and cloudy...we were supposed to get to 67* and be partly sunny, but so far there has been no sun at all. Mom has been kinda busy cleaning up the back yard so we can enjoy it being nice and clean...right now it is still a big mess, but it is looking a little better....we did mom's side 1st, so the the other side is the messier side...MOL!

We wanted to go outside and mom said if it ever clears up we can go out. Right now it is still very cloudy, but at least the wind is not blowing and it isn't raining!

Momma made up her Easter basket for herself..she got jelly beans and M&M's candies and Cadbury Cream Eggs and some Purple Peeps...that is all she got....mom never colors eggs cause she really doesn't eat hard-boiled eggs.

In regards to my newest nickname: Mom took to calling me Sheldon cause I have a 'spot' just like he does and when mom lays in my spot and I can't get up there to sleep I give mom the evil eye, and if that doesn't work, I pawsmack her til she gets up from my spot. I like to lay on the fuzzy blankie she has on the couch to wrap up in and I lay there and suckle the blankie til I fall asleep...not too sure why I do this, but I do...so now mom calls me Sheldon when I bug her to give up my spot. {For those who don't know Sheldon, he plays on the "BIG BANG THEORY"}

I hope you have a Happy Easter Sunday!

Hi Mischief and family!
We’re looking forward to our beautiful mew Queen Edina’s reign in April and we hope King Hami has a happy retirement. We’ve been lucky enough to be furiends with Sakura, our COTM nominee for May, for quite a while now. Sakura is as smart, kind and witty as she is beautiful. This should be an exciting month for Cat Channel. A few months ago we didn’t even think CC would still be around, but here we are - like the energizer bunny; we just keep on going! Hooray!

It was a bit chilly here this morning, but the sun is shining so all of us kitties were sunning out in the backyard while Mom gets ready for her trip to San Diego. We’ll miss our furiends very much and we’ll keep all of you and your families in our thoughts and prayers.

Tell your Dad we said Happy Birthday! Yummy! Your pawrents had Italian food! "Vegas" sounds like a wonderful restaurant and lots of fun! Too bad there weren't any slot machines. MOL!

We hope your sweet Mom is feeling better and getting some rest. Make sure she does. You don't want her cough to get worse! We have your Mom and dear, sweet Q. Duchess in our constant prayers. We'll be thinking of you and your family and I'll meow at you when my Mom gets back . God bless your precious family my dear furiend.

We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and wishes for a blessed Easter.

janet's getting in some blogging and votes
before she leaves not to far from now on her long early morning walk and needless to stay on sunday is on the fence as to walking early long one or going to sunrise service and then doing her cookout right after she's in from both. they got a new nice table top webber grill and janet can't set the stuff outside till sat afternoon as sunday it's going to be windy and starting out like right now lower 30s so doesn't know if the grill will stay going or not. the past 2 times it was even into the lower 40s it kept going out so she might have to use the stove and oven inside which is a better bet and she might do it instead. the menu stays the same pancakes, sausage, and marinated fruit which she'll do with a half cup of honey on saturday afternoon or night and it'll be ready to rock and roll sunday morning for grilling. natty lost one of his best friends to a cardiac arrest as his mom told janet she just was to late in catching it and the doctor told her he thought it might have been a seizure brought on by a combination of drugs he was taking and well they just weren't mixing right and his body was rebelling against it. this was the last straw as he had strep too and was on new meds for that when he passed after the plug was pulled off of life support yesterday morning. very sad as janet cried for a bit and they just kept talking and talking to get it out of their systems and then janet briefly for a half hour saw his mom after giving her a card and some apple turnovers store bought, but turns out they were cody's favorites as well as theirs....nice to know that! well at least today is nice rain fri/sat am. then again tues/wed and a sinker old man winter just can't give up and will also hit saturday north of us but not by to much! sandy,ab,haley, angels

Hi Mischief and family!
Sorry we missed meowing to our furiends yesterday. My Dad had the day off from school for Cesar Chavez Day, so he took Mom out to lunch by the ocean in Santa Cruz and they spent the day walking around the small beach town. That meant us kitties were stuck at home, but it was a nice sunny day, not too warm and purrfect for catnapping in the windows. And Mom didn’t forget us...she brought back some of the salmon she ordered at the restaurant and we all loved it! Yummy!

My Mom is making us Easter baskets early, since she won’t be here on Easter Sunday. (Mom is leaving for GM’s house on Friday April 3rd, coming back April 11.) She’s filling them with our favorite treats and catnip stuffed bunnies and carrots. We’ve been watching her fill the baskets, but she has managed to keep them out of our reach - so far!

Ebony and Sugar Bear are doing just fine. My Mom took Easter baskets to their house this morning for both kitties and one for their pawrents. Ebony still likes to jump in my Mom’s arms when she visits, something he (thankfully) only does for my Mom.

We hope your Mom's chest cold is getting better. All that coughing can make a body very tired. We have her in our prayers and we hope your Dad doesn't catch it. We hope your weather warms up sweetie. Our temperature has cooled down to the 70's which is much nicer than the high 80's. The wind is blowing and you can see all this pollen dust flying through the air. Mom always worries about my asthma, so all the windows stay closed and if we want to outside, we have to use the kitty door. Luckily, I prefer to catnap inside when it gets too windy.

My Dad recorded the movie "Killing Jesus" on the DVR, but they haven't watched it yet. If it's that gruesome, Dad will probably watch it by himself. As it is, my Mom gets tired of seeing all the killing and monstrous things that humans do on the news. If only people would turn all their efforts to doing good instead of wasting their lives doing bad things, this could be a wonderful world. (Sigh!) Felines really do need to take over. MOL!

We hope sweet Q. Duchess is doing well. Give her a soft, warm hug for us dear furiend. We always have your precious family in our thoughts and prayers.

We left a vote with purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.

“Cats have a sort of game they play when they meet. A player alternates between watching the strange cat and ignoring her, grooming or examining everything around herself - a dead leaf, a cloud - with complete absorption. It is almost accidental how the two cats approach, a sidelong step and then sitting again. This often ends in a flurry of spitting and slashing cats, too fast to see clearly, and then one or the other (or both) of the cats leap out of range. The game can have one exchange or many - and is not so different from the meetings of women.” - Kij Johnson =^.^=

no you're not seeing double
janet was asked at the last minute to work 6-11 tomorrow instead of 7-11 so we're doing our visiting for tomorrow now instead and she knows it's coming on time to get supper ready as well and will be in bed earlier tonight too like she was a few weeks back. had a light snow shower as she was coming in from work and then out walking once she and nat were in from errands and now looks and smells like rain showers as the cold front is due to come through keeping us in the lower 40s the next few days before a significent rise in temps through the upper 50s to the mid 60s for 2-3 days then back to the lower 40s for easter and easter monday. at least the 3 errands got done today and a run to the cpa as nat forgot to submit something so had to run it over there and back so therefore janet was in the middle of getting stuff online done so she could get back out and walking again. but it's al ready coming on suppertime, so we'll have to bow out and get as much done before janet's 4:30 hour comes to get something. see ya sometime on wednesday before or after her early morn-ing long walk. sandy,ab,haley, angels

Hi Mischief and family!
It was a warm 78 degrees here yesterday, purrfect for catnapping in the backyard. Since Whitey and Orangie won’t lay down in their cat beds on the deck yet, my Mom laid out a couple of the cat carrier crate mats on the ground for them and sure enough, Whitey and Orangie made themselves comfy on top of them. Go figure! So while Mom was cleaning house and doing laundry, we all stayed outside for several hours. No cat fighting, no bird or lizard hunting...just the four of us napping in harmony. We could see our Mom peeking at us every now and then, wondering what was going on! Geez! Is it really so surprising for cats to be well behaved? MOL!

Oh no! Your sweet Mom has a cold?! Give her a warm hug for us and make sure she gets lots of rest. Keep her off the computer and covered with a soft blanket. We'll have her and Q. Duchess in our prayers, along with all of your precious family.

We are so thankful and grateful as Grandma had some issues a few years ago. Now we are relaxing and just finished watching Hockey. Our Penguins finally won a game. Woo Hoo.!!! I like your pretty Easter photo. Mom will put ours up Starting next week. She finally got around to making one for me.

Talk about Spring?? Where is it? Can you believe we woke up to 20* and snow showers today? It only got to 23* for a HIGH!! How can 23 be a high in Spring??

All the birds we were seeing have disappeared again. We did see some squirrels though. Some of the birds hung around, but I bet they will will come back when it warms up again.

Mom was outside last week when it was in the 50's and she seen one of the flowers in her garden starting to come out..it was a purple bloom..she can't remember what she planted there and didn't realize she even planted something that would come back...mom usually only plants perennials.

Mom went to Work today and after work she went to Walmart with a friend after she took Jesse to the Vet..{Blog on CMR}..she came home with 4 bags full of stuff..some was Easter stuff and cat food, milk, and some pills for mom's headache.

Now we are back, mom had to have dinner and now we are getting ready to go to MHL....it has been a long day for mom and she is tired!

Thanks so much for the birthday greetings and gifts...much appreciated! I had a great day celebrating with my sister.

Hi Mischief and family!
My sister Callie and I went for our stroller walk at 6:30 this morning, hoping to catch a glimpse of the Quail. And we did! They were in a group again scratching the ground under some brush along the trail. Mom says they remind her of chickens, only tiny. We didn’t want to scare them so we parked our stroller and Mom sat on the ground, tossing a few kernels of birdseed at a time. It was still kind of dark outside, but we were able to watch them for several minutes, until a jogger ran by and scared them away. They didn’t fly away; they just seemed to scurry off under the thicker brush. It’s so cute how they all stay together in a bunch. Mom scattered the rest of the birdseed in the bushes before we left. Can’t imagine ever eating anything so cute!

My Mom left us all alone to do some shopping today, and we were all ready to go outside in the backyard when she got home. Whitey and Orangie stayed for about an hour, watching the birds in the trees. Callie and I prefer catnapping on the patio chairs under the table in the shade. Plus it’s a good hiding spot! But that darned Mom of ours is always watching us now. Drat!

Wow! Your pawrents sure had to work hard to swap out the fridges and transfer all the salvageable food. But they got it done. Whew! We hope your Mom and her friend's trip to the vet went well. We hope it wasn't too hard to get Shorty to come along.

It sounds like your temps are going in the wrong direction! Too extreme! We hope your pawrents don't get sick from the drastic weather change. Keep an eye on them sweetie. Give sweet Q.Duchess a warm hug for us. We're glad the fluids make her feel stronger. She's such a sweetheart. Give the family warm hugs for us my dear furiend. We always have all of you in our prayers.

We hope you have a nice, warm, relaxing weekend with your furiends and family.

Hi Mischief and family!
Today is supposed to get to 85 degrees. We could tell at 7 a.m. on our stroller walk it was already getting warm. We looked for the little Quail family but didn’t see them. My Mom scattered some birdseed where we saw them yesterday, hoping they’ll come back. We filled the bucket by the creek with water and ran into several of our dog walker friends. The big dogs like to sniff our stroller, but only the little terrier yappy dog barks at us. Callie hisses at him and I just give him a bored look. MOL!

Whitey and Orangie were in the backyard, digging in the dirt under the tree, so Mom had to take a look. They were after a lizard! He was just a little guy, so Mom was brave and picked him up and put him in the bushes in the front yard. He should be safe there. Whitey and Orangie just kept staring at the dirt under the tree, wondering where their mew furiend went. Silly girls!

We hope Q. Duchess is feeling stronger today. Tell her we said meow and give her a warm hug for us.

Oh no! We read on the CMR page your fridge went out! What a waste of good food! We hope the repair guy can fix it quickly. Just what your pawrents didn't need. We'll keep our paws crossed for all of you. My Mom had a problem with the dryer this morning. It wasn't drying the clothes completely. Mom had to squeeze behind the dryer with a flashlight, wiping all the cobwebs away (yuck!) and thankfully she found the problem. The exhaust pipe had come loose from the vent that leads outside. Mom was able to fix it. Hooray!

No need to blog back dear furiend. We know you're busy! Give everyone a hug for us and let them know we have your family in our prayers. Okay?

We left a vote with purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.

During the first winter,
humans struggled to keep
warm. God decided to

would be a space heater
that could be kept on the

for warmth. God covered
the little heater with soft
fur that relieved stress
when humans put their
