May 6, 2013--- Guess its about time!
Good Monday Morning! Have a super day! We want to apologize that it has been forever since we did a good round of blogging on CC. Now we are doing a c/p and do have to apologize to you. We are well and have told a few friends that mom is planning a big trip to visit family in Norway this summer. Also, a cousin from Norway will be returning here for a visit after. Mom has to do some painting and work on the house too or arrange for it to be done. Kitty care and a house-sitter is arranged. Doggy care is in the works. Mom got her e-ticket and her Passport came Saturday.

We also feel guilty that K.Barney did promise continued stories time to time and so far we have not! Well, we do have one for today, but will have to keep it short. Not a story mom is too proud of, because she should have listened to Angel Pasha, who you met during our Catpaign. One summer night he bit her arm to wake her out of a sound sleep and then ran to the window. To mom's credit she looked out, but did not see anything, so chased Pasha from their room. He tried to protest and kept running to the window, but mom still did not see anything and did not investigate further. Well, she did lean her lesson----- in the morning she talked to her neighbor and found out he had been gone that night and his house was robbed! Mom felt so guilty that she had not done more, but she was so tired and did not see or hear anything from where she was. She sure learned that cats may have more of a sense when something is wrong than most humans realize. Of course, there are still times when we kitties just can't sleep and we want some company.

Oh oh ! Yeah, sitting in a birdie's nest and squashing one of the eggs is a real no-no! I can see why your mom was so upset with you.
There are many people out there who blame us kitties for the declining bird population, and we really shouldn't give them any more reasons to point at us.
What is the plan for the chicks that hatch out, once mom's science project is done? Do you get to keep them and raise the chickens?

Sorry we haven't visited for awhile. Mom has been super busy and is planning a trip to Norway this summer to visit her family. Then, when she returns, her cousin will come back with her and visit us. Very exciting! Hope all is well with all of you. Just want to set the record straight, I'm not looking for a girlfriend, but do hope our family can just be good friends with yours. We have nothing against kitty dating and the weddings are beautiful, but not for us at this time. We do like to visit and go on occasional adventures, however. See you soon and have a Super Day!

Sorry I haven't gotten back in touch with you, but my mom has been pretty tired with her two jobs and one volunteer job. Things are coming to end for the summer for all of them and mom can't wait for the break. We should be able to come on more often then. My mom loves the picture of the snow, she misses it so much. Good Morning!
Just want to let everyone know that mom is much improved and to assure everyone that the hospital did do a good thorough check of her heart.It was very scary, because everyone talks about heart attack symptoms in women being different and mom has already known friends her age with heart problems. We think mom did the right thing going to the hospital when she did and want you to know that when she walked into emergency with her symptoms, they immediately started an EKG, before doing any paperwork or waiting! Mom also knows how much we need her and we have been very attentive with the purr therapy. The dogs have been attentive too, with worried looks on their faces. Mom appreciates all your prayers and wishes and says she doesn't know what she would do without such a good community. Mom will continue to follow up with her doctor and keep everyone up to date. The pain is not completely gone, but tolerable even without Tylenol. Mom, a confirmed Ibuprofen user, did find out that Tylenol worked much better for this type of pain. She is being very careful to follow directions, because that medication can be hard on the liver--- also to be most careful we do not get any! We continue to prayer for all our CC friends and hope you have a Super Day! Still very cold here, but mom is hoping no serious snow.

MOM SURE HAD FUN SCOOPING TODAY, MOL!!! WHILE SHE WAS DOING THE DASDARDLY DEED, YUK!, MOL, THE LINE WAS 3 DEEP WAITING FOR THE BOXES!! MY THE CHASE WAS ON TODAY TO BE THE FIRST ONE TO DIRTY THE LITTER, MOL!! THIS SHOULD BE AN OLYMPIC EVENT ALONG WITH LONG DISTANCE KITTY LITTER TOSSING BY THE WAY ZACHARY AND MONTY THROW THE LITTER AROUND!! MOM SAYS THAT IT IS A MIRACLE THAT HER AND DAD DON'T GET "KITTY LITTER" LUNG FROM INHALING ALL THAT DUST FROM THE LITTER, MOL!!

NOW ON A SERIOUS NOTE. MOM AND DAD TOOK MONTGOMERY TO THE VET YESTERDAY AND GOT SOME DISTURBING NEWS. MONTY'S CANCER IS NOW SPREADING AT AN ALARMING RATE AND THE GROWTH IS GROWING INTO HIS MOUTH, RATHER THAN OUT AS IT WAS BEFORE. HE HAD SUCH A GOOD VISIT LAST MONTH IT WAS A DOUBLE SHOCK THAT IT IS TURNING SO BAD SO QUICK. BUT THAT IS THE WAY OF CANCER. NOTHING IS GUARANTEED. WE HAVE TO REALLY WATCH NOW THAT THE GROWTH DOESN'T MOVE TOO FAR ACROSS MONTY' MOUTH AND CHOKE OFF HIS WINDPIPE. THE BEST WE CAN DO AT THIS POINT NOW IS TO KEEP HIM AS COMFORTABLE AS POSSIBLE AND TO WATCH THE GROWTH'S PROGRESS. SURGERY IS OUT OF THE QUESTION AS DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE CANCER, SQUAMOUS CELL, IF IT IS DISTURBED IT WILL GROW BACK WITH A VENGANCE AND TAKE HIM QUICKER AND MORE PAINFULLY.

AS THE ANTIBIOTICS DO NOT WORK ANYMORE, THEY HAVE BEEN DISCONTINUED AND THE PIROXICAM HAS BEEN REPLACED BY PREDNISONE TO HELP HOWEVER IT CAN TO RETARD ITS PROGRESS. BUT THE RESULTS WILL BE THE SAME. MONTY WILL BE GONE BEFORE SUMMER.

yes, we live in Raleigh NC, is only 3hrs away, matter of fact on Good Friday mom got to go and move her grandson up to Durham from Charlotte. His dad is in Egypt so hes moving to a Uncles house. maybe when your mom comes up this way again they can meet. she says she will check out the web site to see about the shows, can anyone go to them? she has only been to one but it was only a domestic of just pets. mom hated it, left Florida with 80 degree temps to come back to 50 rain/cold winds, mom had a great St Patty Day, had a cookout at her brothers and sisters, mom was there great food and laughter. temps been in 60's some cold rain so have a blessed day ♥ prayers going out to all ♥ hugs/kisses ♥ headbonks ♥ clam ♥ angelmarley/mom/wonderful tigger

Hi my Sweet Priscilla, yes you are right it has been too long that we have spoken. I love the photo of us below... man are we a good looking couple!!! I see Sasha and Joey are with us...looks like we had a whole lot of fun. Our mom took all of us to the the bad place (Vets) Saturday March 9th and we all checked out okay.
It was just our annual vet check to make sure we are all healthy.... our mom loves us all so much !!! I wish my mom had more computer skills for loading pictures and the videos she has taken , but the one video she has of Sasha and i came out on her computer upside down... sigh... but i hear her say she has to get somebody in to help her load the pictures and vidoes properly. Your so lucky your mom takes such beauitful pictures of you and all your siblings.... i hope you will be able to see me in the video, when my mom learns how to upload it. Well gotta go it's my nap time ( yaaawn)i will have sweet dreams of you my pretty Priscilla. Happy St Patrick's Day! A Frosty +7 here!
Good morning friends. Thought we would try to make a round again on CC both of kitties we regularly visit and those new friends and some we don't know yet. Got to make this a c/p. We are still waiting to see if Zeus will have found his forever home. Spring has come and their are all lot more kitties on the streets that need rescue. no-kill rescues fill fast. Kill shelters are not a good option for us kitties anyway. That is why mom keeps doing what she does.

We are all well and healthy. The dogs have their physicals coming up April first--- April Fools dogs! When mom comes to pick you up from the vet, after staying there for Easter, they are not done with you! Shots coming up too, he-he. Think Handy Andy has a rabies shot due the end of April, but the rest of us are later in the summer.

The weather is still ice and snow here, with more snow coming this week--- will it never end? Sorry Barney still hasn't done any more stories, but promise we will work on that. Still have to get more pictures posted of our past kitties on the Inspiration page. Will try to label those too. Mom still has to do taxes and we hope that means a refund coming back-- we hope!

Now we are on our way to Pawty with Pushkin and all the other Irish kitties and then on to MHL mouse hockey tonight.

The person who was to become St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, was born in Wales about AD 385. His given name was Maewyn, and he almost didn't get the job of bishop of Ireland because he lacked the required scholarship.

The Pagan Saint?
Far from being a saint, until he was 16, he considered himself a pagan. At that age, he was sold into slavery by a group of Irish marauders that raided his village. During his captivity he became a Christian and adopted the name Patrick.

He escaped from slavery after six years and went to Gaul where he studied in the monastery under St. Germain, bishop of Auxerre for a period of twelve years. During his training he got the notion that his calling was to convert the pagans to Christianity.

His wishes were to return to Ireland, to convert the native pagans to Christianity. But his superiors instead appointed St. Palladius. But two years later, Palladius transferred to Scotland. Patrick was then appointed as second bishop to Ireland.

Spreading the "Truth"
Patrick was quite successful at winning converts. And this fact rightfully upset the Celtic Druids, who had their own native religion. Patrick was arrested several times, but escaped each time. He traveled throughout Ireland, establishing monasteries across the country. He also set up schools and churches which would aid him in his indoctrination of the Irish country into Christianity.

His mission in Ireland lasted for thirty years. After that time, Patrick retired to County Down. He died on March 17 in AD 461. That day has been commemorated as St. Patrick's Day ever since.

Maewyn Myths
Much Irish folklore surrounds St. Patrick's Day. Not much of it is actually substantiated.

Some of this lore includes the belief that Patrick raised people from the dead. He also is said to have given a sermon from a hilltop that drove all the snakes from Ireland. Of course, no snakes were ever native to Ireland, and some people think this is a metaphor for the conversion of the pagans. Though originally a Catholic holy day, St. Patrick's Day has evolved into more of a secular holiday.

Symbolism
One traditional icon of the day is the shamrock. And this stems from a more bona fide Irish tale that tells how Patrick used the three-leafed shamrock to explain the Trinity. He used it in his sermons to represent how the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit could all exist as separate elements of the same entity. His followers adopted the custom of wearing a shamrock on his feast day.

The St. Patrick's Day custom came to America in 1737. That was the first year St. Patrick's Day was publicly celebrated in this country, in Boston.

Good Morning!
Wishing you luck on that contest! It almost isn't morning--- worked on getting mom up 3 times already this morning. She made herself some breakfast, mushroom and Swiss omelet, and yes she did share a bit. She went to that Brit Floyd concert last night and was out after mid-night! We all put on an act when she got home, because our dinner was late! Of course she made sure we had dry kibble when she left, but that doesn't count, you know. The dogs were complaining also.

yes we know you live in NC but haven't figured out how far, maybe we can meet one day. is that you house all covered in snow? sure glad we haven't gotten any but once but not nothing to sneeze at. good for us. mom is going to be heading south tonight to see her mom so we won't be on for the weekend hope to catch up on Monday! so have a great weekend! temps been in 60 no rain cold winds have a blessed day ♥ prayers to all who need ♥ headbonks ♥ hugs/kisses ♥ shrimp catnip angelmarley/mom/wonderful tigger!

KATIE HERE, IT WAS SO NICE TO CHAT WITH YOU AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR PURRAYERS AND KIND THOUGHTS!! IT WAS SOOOO BEAUTIFUL OUTSIDE ON SUNDAY!!! MOM AND DAD LEFT FOR A DRIVE IN THE PARK AND CAN YOU BELIEVE THEY DIDN'T TAKE US??? HEY THEY HAVE NO PROBLEM TAKING US TO THE VETS. WE HAVE TO HAVE A LITTLE TALK WITH THEM ON ACCEPTABLE CAR TRIPS, MOL!!! SQUIRREL WATCHING IS AT AN ALL TIME HIGH HERE AT HOME. WE HAVE SEEN UP TO 6 ENTREEES, UM... SQUIRRELS IN THE YARD AT A TIME WHEN MOM AND DAD THROW OUT PEANUTS FOR THEM. WE HAVE IT SET UP THAT JOEY, SINCE HE IS THE YOUNGEST, WILL CHASE THEM DOWN, AND THEN ZACK AND JAKE, CAUSE THEY ARE THE HEAVIEST WILL HOLD THEM DOWN WHILE WE "PLAY" WTH THEM, MOL!! HEAD BUTTS AND PURRS TO YOU ALL FROM THE BROWN FAMILY SIX PACK.
