Oahu - day 3
Today we will try something VERY different. Picture yourself seated next to a window in an airplane flying 14,000 feet over Oahu’s North Shore. The view is magnificent, but right now you’re a little distracted. The thought of jumping out of a plane is enough to sidetrack anyone — but that’s just what you’re about to do. You’re not going to jump solo, of course. You signed up for a tandem dive, and your instructor will be right there with you. You’ve been properly trained before boarding the plane, and your instructor has jumped hundreds of times, but the riskiness of it is still enough to leave your heart pumping.

Lady Dolly and King Mike are skilled at this sport and will jump in tandem, not with an instructor. Watch how it’s done. There is a picture of their jump on my page. Check out those two crazy kits.

You and your instructor, who is attached to you like a Siamese twin, shuffle to the edge of the hatch. It’s now or never, so out you go. Words cannot describe the sensation of jumping out of an airplane at 8,000 to 14,000 feet. How do you explain fear for a mere moment, soon to be replaced by exhilaration that cannot be compared to anything you’ve ever done?

The “drop” is over. Now you’re floating, enjoying the view. If you’re game, the instructor will perform some twirls and stalls, and even let you “fly” the parachute by yourself. Suddenly, you notice the ground is coming up sooner than you’d planned. The instructor pulls up at precisely the right moment and settles you gently on the ground for a perfect landing.

You can expect the adrenalin rush to last for a while. After all, you just jumped out of an airplane.

Time to watch someone else risking their neck. We attend a polo match on the beach at Mokule‘ia and see a historic game that has been played in Hawai‘i for more than a century. Considered one of the fastest, roughest and most dangerous sports played today, polo was brought to Hawai‘i in the 1880s. The polo field at Mokule‘ia is the only one in the world that is located on a beach. Here we have a tailgate picnic, play ball and fly kites on the field during halftime while watching a skydive performance. Live music takes the stage when the match has ended.

Nice to meet you, Joey! You are a very handsome young cat, are all the ladies after ya yet? ;-) I come back to CC with the surprise of my life, a son! I have always wanted a son, to do some fun stuff with! So Benjamin and Priscilla are you siblings? More kitty kids? The more the merrier, MOL! How about we go fishing for some tuna AND hunt some birds sometime? That will be fun, and we can get to know each other! I am sorry I am getting back to you so late. My momma is a teenager in high school and it really takes up a lot of time. I will definitely be on more in the summer though!

Happy Monday!
Hope mom had a Happy Mothers Day. Ours went out with her cousin Janet to a nice Buffet lunch, with lots of good food. The only problem was a bit of over eating and she suffered for it later! Everything was sooo good she said. Got to make a quick round of the channels today, because mom is also looking at the Home Depot website to do some home improvements. We need a new kitchen floor and bathroom ceiling and sink, plus both need paint. Also need the outside of the house painted, but that may take longer. Think we talked about some of this before.

daddy is now starting week 4 without working as he paints houses and this weather is holding all that up for now so momma cant afford to get our home puter fixed till he gets back to working and she can only blog for us when at work and she dont want to get in trouble so our blogs will be few till home puter can be fixed.
we have had rain all weekend plus most of last week also and is bad cloudy today with dark clouds so it will probably rain again today.

So good to hear from you again! Those are some very cool pics, kitty! Hey, don't worry about the grad thing! It seems to be the way it is now! When Dad's nieces graduated from high school, the graduation ceremony could only be attended by the immediate families! That meant only mother, father and any siblings, no grandparents or aunts and uncles! So Mom and Dad never got to see the nieces graduate! Weird, huh?
So, Priscilla tells us you kitties have been here on CC for a full year! Very cool!

How have you been? I have my hands full taking care of Ginger and now mom hurt her knee, so I take care of her! I really don't have an extra minute available. it's ncie to ehar from you...yes, it has been awhile..what have you been up to?
we have been helping mom work in her garden and planting her "cool" veggies like lettuce, cauliflower and radishes and working in the yard..under our supervision, of course...
we haven't been able to go out too much because it has been cold and rainy..and we even had a bad hailstorm a few weeks ago and now mom needs a new roof..we do, too..i'd hate to be out in the elements while it is still cold...
i hope you all ahve been having fun..and being good..jo jo

Hi Joey it's me Sasha.... i know it has been a long time since the last time we spoke, but your right my mom has been extremly busy. I heard her say she thought she was up to her neck in crocodiles, but i don't know what that means (giggle) cause i don't think i have seen any of those around here!! Moms friend is on the mend and Thanks for sending all your prayers she says it must of worked. Moms computer was acting up and so she wasn't able to do any thing on it for a few days and i heard her say it still has issues... what ever that means. I am so happy you haven't given up on me and gone and gotten your self a new girlfriend because i would be so sad and lonely if i was not your girlfriend any more. I love hearing from you but i know my mom has a lot to do and she can be soooo busy that i am not able to get to the computer as often as i would like, so please be patient and know that i am always thinking about you and even dreaming about you ( smile) you make me sooo happy ! I would love to go to Kitty camp if the offer is still open... i saw all the pictures and that looks like a fun place to go... where does your mom come up with these wonderful ideas?
