Hi! My name is Sampson Stevenson
I am Domestic Shorthair from Holts Summit, MO
Nicknames: "My Big Blue Boy"
Age: 6 years old
Gender: M
Coat: short haired
Education: Sam has a unique way of telling me that he wants my immediate attention. He has very dexterous, dog-like paws and loves to push things around on tables or night stands. When he wants me to know that his food dish is empty, he pushes the TV remote off the coffee table. As it hits the floor, he looks at me to see if he made his point clear. If that doesn't work, he'll then knock my cell phone off. On and on this goes until there's nothing left to paw around, at which point he'll just stare at me until I get up and fill his food dish. How annoying (but clever)!
My favorite tricks and treats are: Sam is a very intelligent kitty but has as yet never learned how to pop a frozen entree into the microwave and pour me a glass of iced tea. Well...at least he's never offered. and Sam loves his crunchy tartar-control treats.
Where I hang out: Sam loves to spend the evenings sprawled out to his full massive length on the dining room table. When my daughter comes to visit, she asks, "Is Sam allowed on the table?" What a silly question.
My favorite grubs: Sam would love anything put in his food bowl, but prone to being overweight, he enjoys his Hill's GD prescription cat food for cardiac health.
My pet peeves: Sam hates doorbells with a vengeance. Although he's very congenial when company comes, a doorbell sends him flying down the hall and diving for cover under the bed.
What I love about my owners: Hi, I'm Sam. I'm the boss in my home. I sure like it here. I get to eat, sleep, eat and sleep some more. When I'm not eating and sleeping, my person who thinks she owns me (lol) rubs my cheeks, brushes my fur, and says all kinds of sweet stuff to me. It's always, "Sam, blah, blah this, and Sam, blah, blah that." I like to butt foreheads with her. It seems to make her happy. I've figured out a way to communicate with her, since she doesn't seem to know how to "meow." All I have to do is knock stuff onto the floor and she seems to get the message. I really love that she keeps my litter boxes clean too. I'm really picky about that. But what's really cool is that when she took me home from the animal shelter, she brought Sis' home too. But that's another story.
My cat hobbies: When I get home from work, Sam loves to jump up on the bathroom vanity and beg me to rub the sides of his face. If I start to walk away before he thinks I should, he reaches out with his paw, grabs me by the arm, and pulls me back for some more lovin'. When he isn't looking, I'll attempt the great escape and hope that my feet are faster than his very accurate paw.
