How We Met

We went to our local Humane Society for a little kitten named Piwi who we had been waiting for for days to see because the foster family thought he'd be perfect for us. They said he was still too small to be adopted, so they sent him to another foster family. We were disappointed that we'd driven all the way over there just to find out that he was too small, but we decided to look at the other cats for a few minutes since we were there anyway. We saw a sweet kitty named Sugar, who I really liked! We thought about adopting her on the spot, but decided to wait and see if we liked Piwi better. When we went back a week or two later, we got to see Piwi. His first foster family (The ones who told us about him) came too, because they missed him. (He had gone to a different foster family for the last bit). When we walked into the room with him, we got a huge disappointment! The sweet, gentle, cuddly kitten had been wrecked by some rough people with a large dog. Turns out the last foster family had let their giant dog beat up the kitten in play, and now Piwi couldn't be even picked up without the person being bit. We left Piwi, very upset to find that Sugar had been adopted! We were all crushed and we started to leave when I stopped and looked in the cage behind me. As soon as I looked at that kitty, she started rubbing on the glass and started purring. The volunteer there told us her name was Dakota. We played with her and then adopted her on the spot! She still is the sweetest little thing!

It was good that God let Sugar be adopted! If He hadn't, we never would have found Dakota! God lets bad things happen to us so that one of two things happen to us, either to strengthen us, or so that something better can come from it! (Like us finding Dakota!)
