How We Met

I assist 2 rescues/sanctua- ries that are divided by 3 hours- I transport cats and/or supplies between the two directors. When SHEA BUTTER passed away, I was always looking for another buff colored kitty with green eyes- not wanting to replicate SHEA (impossible!) but somehow wanting to feel nearer to him. One of the sanctuary directors said "Oh, you should meet...." and out of 150 cats, she certainly picked the perfect one for me. ButterBean (shelter name was Buffer) is light in color with sea green eyes and the most sunny disposition you could ever ask for. He is wonderful in every way.

Welcome to CC furFriend BUTTER-BEAN
November Night By Adelaide Crapsey (1878–1914)
Listen...
With faint dry sound,
Like steps of passing ghosts,
The leaves, frost-crisp'd, break from the trees
And fall.

Amaze By Adelaide Crapsey
I know
Not these my hands
And yet I think there was
A woman like me once had hands
Like these.

Crapsey's life was brief, brilliant, and tinged with tragedy. Her work centered primarily on her confrontation with mortality. Diagnosed with tuberculosis of the brain lining in 1911, she nevertheless spent her brief life ardently pursuing her art.
